Via Montepellegrino, 62, 90142 Palermo PA, Italy, Palermo
A 10-minute walk from the Port of Palermo, this modern hotel and conference center is also 2 km from the lavish 19th-century Teatro Massimo and 4 km from Catacombe dei Cappuccini, an underground ossuary.Understated rooms with muted decor feature flat-screen TVs, minibars and free Wi-Fi. Upgraded rooms add sleek furnishings. Some have separate seating areas. Room service is available.Free perks include parking and breakfast. There's also a casual bar and restaurant, and a 2-story conference center which caters to 1,000 guests.
Moldy and stale food, unclean bathrooms, refilled water bottles. Really gross
it has bad staff broken doors or the outside doors didnt close there was a water leak and when we left there was no one to check us in
This hotel does not worth its stars… the room and installation are super old, the restaurant is not good, the breakfast was horrible. The welcom at the hotel is not really warm. The only thing good is the rooftop, great view and the service is nice ! For the transport, the hotel is far from the city but the electric bikes and trotinette/patinette is super useful and often park in front of the hotel.
Inpolite staff. They are not helpful at all. Especially if you are not Italian. You talk to them in English and they reply back in Italian. They dont bother to reply in English even if they understand you. The air-condition was not working. We informed them, they sent someone to fix it, then it was working at random times. The days we were in Palermo were really hot (40°C), so you can imagine what a nightmare it was. The bed was OK, but the pillows were terrible. At least the room was clean, except from the towel that gave us the 1st day, that it had some brown things, but it was replaced when we asked. However, the rooms need renovation, they have 80s style. The breakfast is vast, with many options. Sadly, they dont clean after people are done, that means that many times you had to eat with leftovers of others beside you, or you couldnt find anywhere to sit. I dont know if this was due to the large number of customers or the small number of staff, but its unacceptable for a 4 star hotel anyway. About some comments that I read regarding stealing in customers luggage, we got scared and we locked our things everyday before leaving the hotel. Thankfully, we didnt have any incidents.A big positive thing is the hotels roof garden/terrace, where you can sit and enjoy your aperitivo, if the weather allows it.Overall I dont think its worth its 4 stars (I wonder how they got themor the money I gave them.
Good hotel, rooftop terrace for food & drinks. Sadly the website hadnt been updated re rooftop access. The surrounding area was very dirty, rubbish, unclean walkways. Off putting really especially when the centre of Palermo was so very pretty
WORST 4 STAR HOTEL EVER! DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could give this hotel negative stars I would.I arrive at the hotel early, and fair enough they could not check me in by the stipulated check in time (2pm). I understand. By the time check in time rolls around (mind you, they do not bother to offer a courtesy beverage or even the wifi password), at 2:15pm I was told my room was still not ready, come back in ten minutes. At 2:30pm I attempt to check in again, they tell my room is finally ready. I proceed to my room to find this disgusting and abysmal mess left by the people before, room not ready!!Back to reception, and absolutely no apologies or offer of any consolation -- I was told to wait for my room to be cleaned.I was hot, tired and over it, I asked for a new room to to which the lady offered two subpar options which were of less value than what I paid for. Not even a consolation drink at the bar, or any gesture of good will. Finally they come up with a new room of equal value, to which I proceed upstairs for the second time, ROOM IS NOT READY!! I can’t even express to you my disbelief at the same thing happening again. A whole day in Palermo utterly wasted on incompetence.Fast forward to later in the evening, praying to turn this hotel experience around, with a very open mind. I noticed the website stipulated multiple amenities, to which I promptly and politely called reception to enquire about. My reply for reception, over and over again, was a resounding no, no we don’t do that. Even after asking them to cross check the website which clearly states that they do. Who is lying? The website clearly states a shuttle, the lady at reception quite sharply told me to go get on the bus.To top it off, the location is absolutely tragic. It is so far away from the main area and absolutely not an easy commute in -- due to the fact they lie about having shuttles.I urge you to please not waste your money on this abysmal excuse for a 4 star hotel. I honestly would have rather stayed in a hostel for 30 Euros a night. At least I would be getting what I paid for and in a much better location. No doubt, friendlier staff too.PS: the aircon sucks.
AVOID!Room maids stealing money (80€from guests suitcases while cleaning. After informing manager, he is making a fool out of guest, saying he trusts his employees and that there isnt any proof. We did photos of our staff next day in the morning, leaving hotel. After our return, bags had evidences of opening, not only moving for cleaning purposes.Again we informed manager and showed him photos with evidences, but he was ignoring it again saying its not a proof.Beware, you have been warned.
DO NOT stay there, if You want to have nice, peacful holiday...We were supposed to stay 5 days, but left after 4 and moved to different place.During room cleaning they search through your things for valuables to steal. My headphones are gone for good. It is not the first such opinion, as I see, but I decided to give also mine as a warning.Hotel manager is rude, he told me that if I have a problem with stealing, I should go to police, not to him. Safe in the room was not working. Our personal things were moved every day with thraces of searching inside. Its a joke, not 4 Star hotel.
Worst. hotel. stay. ever.Initially when we entered the hotel, we were welcomed with a musty smell. It had slight wiffs of sewage. The hotel room itself was OK. The bed was OK as the double bed was nice and spacious.Having that said, thats the only positive point I can mention (perhaps also the handy and easy to access paid parking deck). The bathroom was just FILTHY. It looked and smelled as if it hasnt been cleaned since the last renovation (interior came straight from the 90s). Every time the toilet was flushed, we were met with a reeking stench of sewage odour. Every hook and cranny had a yellowish slimy layer of filth. There were still toothpaste remains on the mirror and the shower wall still had shower stains and pieces of human hair. The toilet was stained yellow and the general drain was broken and disclosed a yellow, stinky hairy substance. The attached pictures were from day 1, before we had used anything.I am always honest with my reviews and dont usually give a 1 star rating (one can look up my forthcoming reviews). However, this was just disgusting.Yuck.
Horrible stay horrible hotel. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Rooms look nothing like in pictures when booking, we were told if we wanted those rooms those are “superior” rooms. As a pregnant woman, the first room we got was dirty and all banged up we had to change to a second smaller room, where the AC did not work and they told us it worked fine. Definitely do not recommend this hotel. And let’s not forget the service, we speak Italian and tried to get recommendations around the city we just got thrown the map saying this is the center and this is where you are but when other “better” Italian speakers went to ask, they got a detailed idea about what’s around with recommendations, seeing we understood the conversation we knew what they were getting told. Very arrogant service at front desk.
The room was not as expected as the web site photos see below mine. The service was not a 4 stars hotel, the hotel personnel was not kind nor smiling. At breakfast we did not get any good morning and we were treated as if we were invisible even though we took 9 breakfast during our stay. The location near a street with plenty of bins is not quite the view you had in mine booking for a trip to Sicile.
For the price it was a decent hotel that had everything you needed. Service at first was quite harsh but as the stay went on it got better.Has a rooftop bar that has a decent lookout of Palermo.Didnt get the breakfast as there seemed to be much better options on the street and supermarket across the road.Location wasnt great for the city centre stuff but super easy to get to Mondello beach via bus.
Room is quite spacious but ocation is inconvenience.Air conditioner is TERRIBLEOverall quite old. Definitely not a 4 star hotel
Its a good hotel with lots of luxuries. The only thing that bothered me is that the cleaning staff sometimes took our towels and wont replace them with others. Except this everything was perfect.
Spacious room, excellent service and tasty breakfast. No complains. Slept like a dog.
Clean, nice hotel. Far from the city center. Almost no transportation to go there, only one bus every 30,45 minutes. Take scooter instead.I think the hotel needs a shuttle bus to the city center. Also, it’s not a 4 stars hotel. Probably 3.
Everythings a bit old but thats OK.Staff was very nice.Location is out of the centre and you are either fine with walking about 30 minutes or waiting on the random busses 😉
Not really up to modern standards. Bathroom very out of date, but it all worked and was clean. Beds werent great either but were clean.Whilst it didnt put me off going I wouldnt stay there again as it had nothing going for it. Not an interesting part of town, not particularly cheap, not modern, not a great bar etc. All very 3*Wish Id researched a bit more and found somewhere better, no point travelling all the way to Italy for an average experience
Awful place to stay. Staff are not helpful-poor service and very unclean. Did not give money back even though health reasons were given due to the dust. Would not recommend.
I just came last night in the hotel. I stay in room 827. The service here is was bad here. I already confirmation about my luch and dinner makes sure the restaurant send to my room. Becuse for breakfast they didnt send to me. The dont know i am on quarantine. This is my luch menu for to day. Do you imagine how expensive we pay for this.So sorry i share this to anyone know especially the management hotel to take care the guests nicely. Thanks
Just to set your expectations: This is a part of the "Standard Room" 😅Parking is not free, you have to pay 8€ per day otherwise park in the main streets 😅Absolutely a NO GO!
Overall its a nice hotel but, in my opinion, its not a 4-star hotel.Just 2 or 3 staff people can speak English and that is very bad for visitors. The breakfast is not good. Poor quality and diversity for a 4-star hotel. The eggs bowl is always empty and we had to wait a lot of time everytime we wanted eggs or bacon. The staff is always in a rush and, for a visitor point of view, it looks very disorganized.I had a standard room and it is nice and very comfortable.
Its ok.pretty noisy in the morning and you hear nearly everything from the rooms aorund you. Rooms are clean but bathroom could be cleaned better and in more detail.stuff is friendly but not realy helpful. The location is alright but not close to the center. around 30 min by foot. 10min by bus.across the street is a really nice bakery where you get nice fresh pastry and some snacks staff there is very nice and friendly.besides that you dont have much around these area.stay if you need a cheap room for a couple of days but you eventually find something cheaper and more centered then this one.
Rooms are dated, however well maintained. Sheets were fresh and room was cleaned nicely. The bar on the roof has some nice cocktails, prices were normal. However the rooftop is most often closed for private parties. No swimming pools or hot tubs ( not like the pictures ). Upon return to the room the second day the card had stopped working and we were locked out. Reception fixed this problem. Food in the restaurant wasnt bad. But neither was it plenty, or amazing. Good for a 1 night stay, not any more. Hotel is surrounded by what looks to be favelas. Trash is all around the streets and the smell on the street is unbearable.
To start off the location is not great. Its about 30 mins walk to the centre and the walk there is terrible. The rooms are not what they look like in the photos. Furniture is old and bathrooms are horrible. This might have been a 4 star hotel in the early 90s but ic certainly not by todays standards! Also the brekafast is poor and on one particular morning there where no waiters to serve the food so it was literally pick as you please. Not a fun stay at all and will certainly not be back.
This was the worst hotel I stayed in Palermo.I booked 5 days to spend Christmas in this hotel, but the next day I had to cancel the reservation. Before I decide to spend the first night in this "4" star Hotel they showed me 3 rooms, all very basic, very different from what they were selling on the internet, it was a disappointment.I dont know where they got to be a 4 star hotel but in my experiences with a 4 star hotel chef, they are very far from being a real one.Im going to give 1 star because I cant give 0.I do not recommend this Hotel.
Very bad experience from far worst hotel i have ever stayed. From old and decadent rooms to lost laundry to staff bad attitude and lack of attention. 0 for rating
The hotel works with third party websites that rip you off. Paid twice the going rate. The hotel didnt want to acknowledge the deceit. No way to cancel the reservation even with a lot of notice. When arriving, the complementary breakfast was of very poor standard (even hard boiled eggs with black core). We had to eat always outside. The hotel is very far from the city centre and the surrounding area is full of trash. Almost 900 USD for 4 nights is a complete abuse.
My husband and I have stayed there last week for 2 nights and it was a nightmare experience. Worst room we have ever lived in. Furniture items were so cheap. Room had a dirty and unclean feeling. Bathroom accessories and bathtub were rusty giving yukk feeling. On top of that we have seen weird inspects walking on our bathtub and towels. Ac was not working. Only lord knows how we managed to take a bath. It was more like a lodge instead of hotel room.
Probably the worst hotel I ever stayed at. AC not working, shutter broken, dirty rooms, smell of cigarettes. Better sleep under a bridge then here.
The personnel were all very rude and were not accomodating at all. We stayed in August, in the blistering heat and the temperature was 39°C and the aircon in the room was not working. It stopped after a few minutes and it made a weird noise. They sent someone to fix it and it worked for a few minutes but stopped again. And they refuse to change rooms saying it was all booked (which is not true! In the middle of pandemic and EU borders are closed!). DO NOT EVER GO HERE. THIS IS A SAD EXCUSE FOR A "4 STAR HOTEL." NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.
Just dont stay there! Old hotel, kind of dirty, the staff is unprofessional ans make your life more complicated, no service at all. Breakfast is horrible : instant coffee and industrial food and drinks. Any hostel provides better care to their customers. To be avoided!
Who in the world gave this hotel a 4 star rating. I’ve stayed in highway motels that are cleaner then this place. Gross gross gross. I give it a star for location. The staff couldn’t care any less about you. You have to pay for parking. The a/c blows warm air. Stay away. Live with some homeless person on the street but don’t come here.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL!We booked to stay at this hotel back in january (pre covidand are meant to be arriving next Thursday. Our flights have been cancelled and therefore I assumed we would be given a full refund as we have been unable to travel. I have worked as a midwife in a hospital throughout this pandemic and could do without the stress of trying to get my money back. The hotel have been extremely rude and lack compassion having said we will not be able to receive any money back, nor change the dates. Just a warning to all others...!
The hotel was not bad at all, the only negative thing about it in general, was the location, which was not the best.Besides that, the first day they cleaned our bedroom, when we came back in the afternoon, we found out they left our bedroom door OPEN, we didnt like that at all, they were lucky nothing was stolen though. The rest of it was good, wouldnt say its a 4 stars hotel, but its not bad
Okay hotel. Spacious room, clean, but the bathroom’s sink dried quite slow. Many options for breakfast; cannolo, brioche, tart, cereal, egg, bacon, salami, cheese, fruit, juice, water, tea, and coffee. Nearby bus stop, however, I personally think that this hotel more suitable for traveler with a car. My weird experience in this hotel was the cleaning lady open my room door at 9 AM and want to clean my room that early; and she said that was because I don’t hang the ‘don’t disturb’ sign on my door. I mean, I think 9AM and assumed all the guests already leaving the room is a bit too early. The next day, I put the sign since in the afternoon so they don’t open my room anymore 😂 Overall an okay experience 👍🏻
First room they gave us, wasnt what we reserved on booking. Room was dirty, walls were dirty in the room, entire room was smaller and the bathroom wasnt clean at all. We found hair in the bath tub, near the sink and the bath tub had a rusty leakage, seems that way as it had something red on it...The 2nd room they gave us looks more to what we booked, but not quite the same and this one has issues with the minibar. It leaks water and the colling van is broken (that black thing that is hanging in the picture). We are going to see if something new comes up as we are staying for 7 nights..
Not a bad place for a short stay. The bed was a bit hard and the room was average but hotel service and staff was good. Too loud in the morning if you sleep with a window open.
Its an okay hotel theres not really much else to say about it. The rooms are okay the bathrooms could do with updating. It seems a bit run down theres not any free hot water kettle or coffee you have to buy that from the bar which is expensive. The area is a very poor area its old like its been forgotten and its near a dumping ground which means every time you come out it smells of garbage a lot. Its odd because you walk maybe 10 mins down the road and take a right and youll see Gucci shops and what not a completely wealthy part of palermo and you just think how is there such a difference in a walk of 10 mins.I dont really know how they class hotels but I would not class it a 4 star hotel, a 3 start hotel at best. On the plus side the breakfast was nice every day and the staff are nice
We were staying here for one night prior to our train to Taormina. We needed to catch a bus with our luggage from the train station to get here as its over 30min walk otherwise. The hotel is large and very business structured. There was a large group of school children there on possibly a conference so it was a little annoying using the lifts. There is only 3 lifts for 14 floors and the lifts are slow and small so often you have to wait 5 minutes before you can actually get one.The room is small, i.e. bed and ensuite and thats about it but it is clean in the room. The carpets in the hallway are in need of replacement with all the stains. The shower is in a bathtub and we tried various ways and still couldnt figure out how to drain the water at the plug. We are hoping the cleaners would be ok dealing with it.The bed was great, slept soundly. The breakfast has a large spread and the hot food is ok.Overall ok for a short stay.
Rooms are confortable, clean and spacious. We discovered that the check out is at 7:30 am (no joking). To top it off, they called our room at 7:25 the last day to wake us up without any request from our side. We were planning to wake up at 7:30 anyway, but I consider this quite rude.Breakfast is mediocre but dinner at the restaurant is OK.Not enough elevators for such a big hotel (plus a broken one for the 5 days we stayed there, means often waiting for very long times.
Nice and clean hotel. Even though its next to a busy road, we couldnt hear any noise at night whatsoever. Our room was big and spacious. Daily room service. Free carpark (at the back place to park motorbikes and scooters. Amazing views from the rooftop terrace. Tasty breakfast with a big selection of cakes and pastries, cereal or jams... not so much when it comes to ham or cheese. Nice cappuccino from the coffee machine . Shame though the juices were from concentrat .Lots of bars, restaurants and pizzerias nearby. Bus stop in front of the hotel that takes you to straight to the centre of Palermo.Staff at the reception could be more friendly and smile from time to time, but overall we had a pleasant stay at this hotel.
I stayed in Astoria Hotel with my friend for a week and I must say that this was the worst experience ever!Receptionists look like they are doing you a favour that they are actually there. They give you no information when you check in!Rooms are even worse! Smelly, dirty and very outdated. I had a balcony where I found old alcohol bottles with ciggarate buds all over the floor. The aircon was so noisy you couldn’t even fall asleep.I had to keep my balcony door closed at all times as the noise from outside traffic was unbearable. On top of that I had a room next to bunch of teenagers who kept making noise until 1am! Slamming the door, shouting down the corridor, rude and obnoxious when I asked them politely to be a little bit more quiet as it is quite late at night. They paid no attention so I complained to the receptionist who did nothing about it.The only good thing about this hotel is breakfast and very polite service in the dinning area.Don’t be fooled by 4 stars rating! I stayed in 3 stars hotel that was better than this! Terrible experience.1 star!
Unfortunately the hotel is very old. The showerhead is full with chalk and pretty dirty. The breakfast is not good. Coffee is terrible and absolutely not like italian coffe. Cornflakes tastes old. But the staff is very friendly and helpful. I feel sorry for them. There is not enough staff to clean the tables while breakfast. People have to clean the tables themselves. I couldnt enjoy breakfast at all. No fresh fruits besides Apples.
The room was clean and spacious. There was no air ventilation in the bathroom. The staff was helpful but we had an issue with the parking (there was no free parking spaceand they told us to park behind some car that led to them calling us at 6 am to repark the car and being yelled at from the other guests that were stuck without taking any responsibility. And all they said about this incident was: Im very sorry..
The parking was adequate, and the check-in was relatively quick seeing as there was no one ahead of us. The room was unbearably stuffy and the air conditioning didnt work. The room looked clean, but the air vents were covered in dust. The longer you looked in the room the more things you noticed that they dont clean. The breakfast was OK.
The hotel is a little old and needs to be updated. Also if not in a fantastic part of Palamo, next to a vast fruit market that opens very early. The air conditioning is very poor. Having got the poor points out of the way. The hotel has a great roof top bar, its very clean and the breakfast is a good.
Great Hotel in Palermo. a bit far from the city center but we managed to get anywhere as we had rented a car. the room is very clean and wide. free parking available. Very professional staff. Highly recommended.
The hotel room was nice. The shower was great. The thing was that it must be travel season because there are so many kids all over the place. Running around the lobby, riding the elevators and pushing all the buttons. They are just being kids but after a long day of work, I came back to the hotel and having to deal with that was a little tiring.
Excellent large clean room with toiletries. Perfect breakfast, complete variety of continental n English breakfast with so many different brioche, cakes, sweet breads. Jam, butter, Nutella, yoghurt, cereals.... Everything to a bright morning start. Amazing n friendly Staff. Thank you you for your wonderful hospitality!
