Asik Asik Falls - Tourist attraction in Cotabato, Philippines
Reaching Asik-Asik Falls is a bit challenging because its a combination of motorcycle ride for almost two hours. Although the roads are concrete, the wind and suns UV rays are unavoidable. Nonetheless, I was rewarded with an amazing view surrounded by relaxing greens.
One of the most beautiful falls in the Philippines.Streams of pristine water rushing down a mountain cliff covered wholly in green makes for a stunning image, and the judges of a national photography contest held in 2012 in the Philippines clearly thought so too. They awarded a photo of the Asik-Asik waterfalls in the mountainous Alamada region, and in doing so, announced the existence of this natural wonder to the world. The newfound oasis was christened Asik-Asik, meaning “sprinkle-sprinkle” in the local Hiligaynon language, after the sprinkle of falling water on nearby rocks. Lush vegetation covers the entirety of the ravine, and adds mystery as to where the water is coming from. The most likely sources are thought to be springs deep within the mountain or an underground river.
Love this majestic falls.. You need to experience the ice cold water and the beauty of it 💦❤️ come to Asik Asik
trembling knees while going down, but so worth it!
Worth it ang kakapoy... The Falls and the nature were stunning.. Awesome people and culture.. Scenery were great and fabulous. Perfect for adventurer people.. Thank you for the experience.
One of the best waterfalls in the Philippines!! Definitely a falls to visit in North Cotabato.- 70pesos entrance fee if you came from other places outside North Cotabato, plus the 20pesos environmental fee.- You need to hike for at least 15-30minutes depending on your capability.- There are stores along the trail.- No CR in the waterfalls.- You can take habal habal from Libungan Market, 700-800pesos two-way trip.
A must place to visit. Just be ready your feet, youll be climbing down and up approximately 1500 steps back and en forth, going back is the worst part. Goodluck 😊
Truly majestic. You will really appreciate the gifts of nature.
The trail is a cemented stair with at least 500 steps. The place is exhilarating. There are several water falls falls from the wall of a mountain. The water is cold and refreshing. If you want a little bit adventure, you must visit the place.
We are from Spain and visited our family member in Bukidnon when we dicided to rent a car to visit this falls. No of Visitors: 8Car rental : 3500Gas: 2500Cottage rental ( due to bad wether3000Food: 3500WE arrived 14:00 and the Lady in the entrance said she wont let us In because we dont have a paper coming from their tourism office ( 15-20kilometrs away)We explained to her that nobody was in the municipal office. We tried ringing the number of the incharge in the office and there was no signal. We tried again and a man answered and said wrong number. But a couole before us said that they dial same number and a man answered and said that their office hours is only until 12 noon.We explain to the lady that we come from far place hoping she will let us see a glimpse of the falls but "SHE REFUSED"Honestly, I visited almost all falls from Cebu, Dumaguete, Siquijor and Bohol but I never had any single problem. We travelled and WASTED A LOT OF MONEY AND TIME just for NOTHING!!!!!!!!. Worst trip we ever made!!!We regret it.I highly recommend not to visit this place.
Still in awe of its magical and enchanting beauty!
Asik-Asik Falls is truly a majestic sight to behold with its streams of water gliding down 60 meters of a high rock wall creating a curtain of water and flora spanning 140 meters wide. The name of the falls, which translates to “sprinkle-sprinkle” in vernacular, refers to the sprinkling of water onto the rocks below and flowing into the tribulatory stream of the Alamada river.
Asik-asik Falls is a major natural attraction of the Municipality of Alamada, Cotabato Province, Philippines. The area is managed by the local government in partnership with local service providers. Tourists need to register at the Municipal Hall first before proceeding to the site which is located a few kilometers away. Well-paved, wide roads lead to the tourist destination. It is a 700+ steps going down to the falls from the tourist center. Concrete and steel steps make the trek "easier" and comfortable, but it is not for the weak. Going up is another challenge.Once in the falls area, everything is forgotten because it is a piece of paradise.
Asik asik is unreal, No words can explain its beauty. This is the most magnificent waterfalls I’ve ever been.
Im in awe. Beautiful waterfalls. Expect the best view comes BEFORE the hardest climb 🤣Overall, it was a fun experience!
The trail left my calves hurting for days but the view is perfect, the water is cold, the experience was awesome. Will definitely go back.TIP: Try to go when it didnt rain the day before so the water will be clear. Ours was brown because we went the day after Tropical Cyclone Crising passed Cotabato.
A majestic place to enjoy and relax with nature, together with the most highlight, the exquisite and breathtaking curtain waterfall. And enjoyed the cold spring water, then challenged with the trails and steps going down and up 😅Never regret visited this place and hoping to visit again soon.
When God blessed the Earth with abundance of beauty, it is undeniable that Asik-Asik Falls was given a huge amount of it.The entire Nature Park is a Heaven-on-Earth due to its natural and habitable beauty, incomparable to other parts of the country. The majestic waterfalls stretches at least a kilometer-wide along the cliffs of two valleys where its base river flows rapidly. So, if I will be asked what makes the waterfalls magical? Its the branches of endemic leafy vines hanging on it! I havent seen that in any waterfalls here in Luzon! Not to mention the strength of these vines that are wet throughout the year, and yet, they are still abundant, deep green and thrives along the walls of Asik-Asik.May the Local Government Unit keep this one-of-a-kind natural gift. Kudos to them for keeping the place clean, sustainable and its majority being untouched/unaltered throughout the years!
This is the most uniquie waterfalls that Ive ever seen so far , only in Mindanao ❤
I would give a score from 1-5..(1 beeing the lowest and 5 being the highest)For hikers and nature lovers... this is a big 5 🤩Why? because you will enjoy the trail and youll be rewarded of what you will experience when you get there..For those ages between 30s up? (who are not that fit enough?)I would say this is a 1(onefor the trail.. reasons are mentioned on the other reviews..but 5 for the beauty of the place itself..Why?This is only based on my experience...We had to walk down the hill just to get there and if youre not that fit I dont suggest to take the risk...(You should bring something like umbrella or wear a cap, someone who can stay with you while you rest, water, and your goal to finish it if you do)Theres a place where you can buy something before you start the trail though and never forget to rent one of their bamboo sticks that can support you when you climb back up the trail because its really tiring.. I have decided to ride a horse when I was halfway of the trail since I cant make it any further...hahahaBring food as well and its better if youll have those (to go foodseasy to bring foods.. so you can have something to eat when arrive and never forget to bring back your trash with you..And guess what? when you get there?Just what I had mentioned earlier.. you will be rewarded of what you will see... a beautiful creation of God...Satisfying, relaxing..Thats when I realized.. you really cannot achieve something in an easy way.. youll have to work hard and have your goal to finish it and your goal that you can do it..I was just hoping to have an easy way to get there... A cable car maybe? hahaha... I know it is quiet impossible but that would promote tourism and jobs for the locals..
Though this photo been taken a year ago Im always thrilled by its beauty! A stunning avatar nature look a like that turned into life!😲😲😲
It was very awesome experience to visit, travel of this such wonderful and adorable places like this, it was mixed emotion when we arrive the said destination, the amazing mountain formation and the rocks formation most of all how wonderful it was the water falls came all over the rocks formation even the higher part of the mountain the water came out, and it was so sweet when i taste the water drops, Indeed ! i was fun ! the road are very exiting and surprising !
Brace yourself for 1000+ stairs that go up and down hills to where the hidden falls are. Best you ride a horse on your way up though as youll end up having shaking feet and body aches on the next day.
Breathtaking! Not a major trek but with very good End..
Hired a Habal-Habal going to Alamada from Midsayap and the ride is almost 2 hrs. Paid 1,000 pesos to the driver including tip & guide but didnt expect the 1,000 stairs/steps going to the falls. The place is pure magical. A double plus WOW! You will be amazed by the natures natural wonder.
Refreshing moment of travel, hiking, swimming, climbing and viewing the beauty of nature developed by man given by God..Hope to see this area soon again..
Unique . I guess, it is 150-200 meters wide curtain-like spring falls, Refreshing water and astonishing beauty nature can offer
Really breath-taking... both in terms of the view when you get there, and the way getting out of there.Visited on Christmas afternoon, around 3 pm. The number of people is pretty reasonable.Parking was readily available. To get to the falls, we needed to walk an 800-step trail - about 44 flights of stairs. The start of the trail is not cemented - it may be a good idea to wear hiking shoes. It is not very bad on the way down, and we rented walking sticks for 5 pesos each. It took about 15 minutes to descend. The falls are a rewarding sight once we completed the descent. It is literally a curtain of water draped in verdant greenery. The water is clean, clear and refreshing, but quite cold. Its kept that way because showering with soap is not allowed... and people actually follow that. Its said that the water is "alkaline" and has health benefits.Theres a few "ledges" at the base of the falls where you can stand and experience the torrent of raging, refreshing cold water, or take selfies. A few people were swimming too.The ascent back to the parking lot was challenging. It left a few people in my group winded. It took my group 50 minutes to get back to the parking lot, since we had to take frequent breaks. I imagine fitter visitors can accomplish the climb in 15-20 minutes. In summary, its great to visit and a sight to behold, but be prepared to deal with the torturous ascent.
Asik-Asik Falls in Alamada North CotabatoBreathtaking Beautiful view. Clean and sweet water from the falls. The crystal clear water are from the mountain.Best to go there in the morning since it has 700 steps going down and 700 steps of coming back to the main road. You should be 100% healthy and feeling well if you explore the falls. My experience I have 2 days muscle pain in my legs. But the experience is worth-taking.
Very beautiful waterfalls and truly magnificent.. just prepare your legs for a steep uphill stairs going home
Worth it, very relaxing, and you can enjoy the fresh air and water
Ensure you are ready to take the 650 stairway steps downhill. Its easy to go however it is very hard to go back. You can ride a horse just pay 200 pesos per ride.
I love the trill of going down and up to the exact location of the falls,, i think it has 800 steps going up and down and its very stiff, i will not advice any person with heartfailure to go here.
Been here for many times and its still amazing. Water is cold and so refreshing.
The water from the falls is alkaline. You can drink it directly! Quite tiring especially for those who are not into hikes but all in all, the view is mesmerizing! Amazing alada! #asikasik
The place offers a great experience with nature and clear cold water. The view is verily astonishing and worth all the 600++ stares than needed to go through to reach the falls. Believe me when I say it requires enormous physical strength but believe me also when I say its more than worth all the physical challenge, because it is. Entrance fee is 30 pesos. Parking fee starts at 10 pesos. Be there early and bring umbrella or jacket to shield you from the heat as you traverse the trail. Enjoy!
Beautiful waterfall its like a curtain of waterfall. The most beautiful Ive been. The water is also very cold and you can swim freely in the shallow water. Be prepared coming here as you need to go down and climb up approximately more than a thousand steps.
I saw many waterfalls in my life, but this is one of my favourite. I hope you can get the chance to visit on a weekday, otherwise it might be crowded. Very natural apart of the stairs and entrance point. 20 Pesos entrance fee.
must visit place even if its hard to go back its still worth it. the place looks so enchanting. and there is a horse you can ride going back
Want to go here? Prepare your stamina! Going down from the parking spot to the waterfalls is easy, but your journey back is quite a challenge. But it is all worth it with the beauty of this hidden gem. Amazing waterfalls which will mesmerize you! You can choose between stare at it for hours or feeling its cold water by dipping yourself in the stream. Both are nice experiences. I advise you to bring sufficient food supply and please keep this place clean! Do not litter! Bring back your trash back and put it in the proper place
The hike going down the falls is very easy - appropriate for beginners. The way to the falls from the city is a bit challenging (butt pounding habal-habal ride). But all of these will be paid by the magestic view of the falls - a curtain of green and water with perfect contrast. NOTE: Going back up is breathtaking lietarally. The assualt is full of steep steps, nothing more.
Amazing waterfall. All fed from springs no drive no lake nearby. You actually start the walk on the mountain above the waterfalls. Its ice cold but there is places to swim in the river that run in front of where the water lands. Also ice cold. No guide needed unless u want to trek to see extra falls off on the side but that is a difficult trek off path. From alameda about 1 hour habal-habal ride. Half very rough roads leave it to the pros. About another hour If conning from nearest city midsayap. Which is a safe cit y for tourists to stay.
Amazing wonder of nature. Hope people visiting this place keep it clean and not throw their garbage just anywhere.
Going down is mesmerizing. The view is so nice. Its landscape is a living artwork. The views on top, in the middle, and down below shifts as you go down the trail. The trail is cemented which is a great help. The falls is just awesome. Its so unique. Water falls from behind a tree-covered cliff. Its almost magical! The climb going back is exhausting! Exhausting!!!Transportation going to and from it is something that will greatly help increase the popularity of this place. As of the moment, it is a problem.
This place is one of the amazing nature made natural curtain lake waterfalls i have ever seen i my life. #i love adventure
Good place to relax.Cold water.Rough and difficult road, approx 20 minutes trek down and 40 min trek going back. 😂
A breath-taking spring water falls of Alamada North Cotabato. This 140 meter spring waterfall attracts a lot of tourists from different parts of the Philippines. If you love waterfalls and trekking, this is perfect for your daily dose of adventure.
Im warning you. Going to this falls is definitely not for the faint hearted. Youll go through a lot of challenge and the road is definitely a rough one. Upon arrival at the jump off area, you have to go down a long stairs but its even more challenging to go up. But once you arrived and saw the falls, I assure you that its really worth it.
Breathtaking Falls in the Municipality of Alamada Province of Cotabato, Its majestic view amazed its visitors and the cold water refreshes the mind and body
The experience left me breathless and speechless, cant help myself but praise God for His wonderful creation majestically unfolds before my very eyes. Asik-Asik Falls seemed like perfectly landscaped curtains which mesmerized anyone of its enchanting beauty. You should never miss this when visiting Cotabato.
