Ashtart in Mackay

Very tasty meal! Beautiful breeze on the riverfront today and excellent service.We ordered: shish share plate, wings, the cheese spinach rolls, and honey pistachio pastry dessert.

Lovely setting by the river, good food and coffee, pleasant staff, a nice place for breakfast.

Friendly service and some good starters but the food we had for the main course was not authentically Lebanese.The chicken shish kebab was small and made from cheap, fatty thigh meat; I’ve always had chicken breast in the past. The flavours and spices used were also more suited to a Sunday roast than Lebanese food.My husband’s chicken shwarma was equally disappointing and not in keeping with the cuisine, we were also surprised to see it served with chips rather than rice.Disappointing for the price we paid but the restaurant does have a lovely setting overlooking the river.

Lovely spot for Sunday breakfast, and Friday afternoon drinks! Great vegan / vegetarian choices as well as great catering for the carnivores!

Ordered the platter for 2 and the food was delicious, cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The service was on point, friendly and just an overall lovely night.

Great view and the food that we had was really nice, however overall seemed a tad expensive for the presentation and food types.

Went here for breakfast. Staff were nice and friendly, the food was delicious and the views were great. Im looking forward to coming back for dinner sometime soon.

Great menu choices for all tastes. Wonderful friendly service with well cooked and presented food. The best view of the pioneer river from any restaurant in Mackay. Good seating and not over crowded. Really enjoyed breakfast with the family and look forward to going back.

Great food. Large portion sizes and good value for the price of meals. Ordered dop and bread platter to share between two, a salad and chicken wings. Enjoyed everything.

Faultless service meals were good out of 4 meals and 2 desserts only 1 shocker

Were only going for coffee after parkrun but shared a breakfast wrap which was very good.

Absolutely amazing . Having spent time in the Middle East the cuisine at Ashtart reminded me of my travels . Beautiful dips and a fantastic selection of tasty authentic food . Fabulous setting on the river and a wonderful experience all around . We enjoyed it so much that we went back again for breakfast which I would say I enjoyed just as much as their lunch menu .

We had a good table on the edge of the restaurant overlooking the water. Great service by young & smiling wait staff & accommodating barman who mixes a mean G&T. Loved the food. Simply delicious & tender shish plates. The share dessert plate was to die for! Overall we had a delightful evening in a stunning restaurant.

in a word...disappointing. Confused staff procedures. Food ordinary, so was the service. Yeah they were busy but everybody I spoke with said the same. Not easy to find. That will be my last visit.

One of the waitresses looked like she was drunk or stoned at the bar as well as seen eating at the bar; she was acting very strange and immature. Our kebabs were cold/undercooked, the food isnt all that authentic.

A hidden treasure. Amazing food and fantastic service. Will definitely be going back with the rest of the family.

Great food, best spot for drinks after work, the staff there are all friendly and have excellent knowledge on the food they are providing. Great cocktails as well.

Good breakfast selection and very friendly staff made it a very nice experience. Would definitely come back to try lunch or dinner.
