Ascot Oamaru Motel in Oamaru

Good place for a night but not so good for multiple nights due to a lack of servicing of room. I.e bins not empty etc.

Wasn’t clean. We booked three rooms for our family holiday and each room had a problem. One had a leaking toilet, another had wet carpet and the third had a soaking wet portacot. The rooms weren’t clean at all. there were toe nails and rubbish all over the carpet hair everywhere lights not working. There was no care or love put into theses rooms. Other people staying there asked us to clean their rooms as they hadn’t been serviced but we told them we don’t actually work there. We would have told you guys about the rooms face to face but twice there was no one in reception.

Awesome place for the price! Nicely presented, great for families and couples alike, flash bathroom with soaker tub, shower with great pressure, nice beds, quiet location. The photos on the website dont really do it justice - its nicer than that, an older property that has been modernised nicely. We would definitely stay here again.

Was booked to stay here on Easter Saturday. I phoned and made my booking at least 2 months prior and I also asked if they take bartercard. I was told yes so I proceeded to book over the phone. When we arrived to check in they couldnt find my booking. They were fully booked and we had nowhere to go. This was totally unacceptable. I hind sight Im glad we didnt stay here. There were bags of dirty laundry outside most rooms. The lady on reception was saying she got no cleaning done as she had been dealing with the police as a customer had there boat stolen. Also she told me someone had left something unsavoury in one of the rooms. We left and carried on our journey only to find a superior property to stay at. Would not recommend this property at all. Keep driving.

Room looked clean. Road noise was soo bad. Staff were abrupt. Dishes were dirty. Wont be staying there again

Room was nice and tidy, we did have one of the renovated rooms though. Only downside was the blind in bedroom, it lit the room up like it was daylight at night. Made it hard to have a decent sleep

Blinds in the room on road side had street light all night in room need black out blinds to get a good sleep but other than that nice place

Fan in bathroom only blow cold air. One electric blanket didnt work and know place for hang-up clothes.

Great place to stay. They had issues with the room we booked before we arrived so they rang us and upgraded us at no extra cost. Have stayed there before and will keep going back.great place to take the family.

The room we were in 15 needs blackout curtains as street lights right outside room so was like daylight all night but very comfortable

Stayed here as it looked as though everything else decent in Oamaru was booked out. Wasnt expecting much, and I was right. Was expensive for what it was.Room was spacious enough, and the bed fairly comfortable. I did enjoy having a Sky decoder with heaps of channels... The shower, while having good pressure, it sprayed in a million different directions, and the bathroom was soaked.Service was average, and the road noise was dreadful. All in all, i wouldnt stay again, but it was liveable for one night

Room are quite spacious but furniture n fittings could be better. Location is visible n loud. It will be very easy to spot from highway.

Although theres plenty of space in the rooms theyre very dated and in need of an update. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We found the motel due to being stranded after the flooding of the Rangitata. Closest place we could find from there in the middle of the madness was the Ascot. Stayed 2 nights unexpectedly while waiting for the roads to clear and then booked and paid for a 3rd night after reading that the road would remain closed, so we didnt want to miss out but we were running short of money so were a bit concerned.Even though it was last minute the motel was kind enough to refund me my money for the last night which we did not need as the road opened around lunch time that day.It was a lovely newer room, super clean throughout and we wouldnt want to be stranded anywhere else. It was much nicer than we expected. And we loved the firm but comfy bed!Thanks again guys.

Rooms are old and alittle run down but clean comfortable staff are really great heaps of parking

Accomadation alright but adjoining restaurant and bar had horrible food and service and bar didnt have much of a selection. Will not go again

The motel is clean and run by a family. The room is big and I recommend it to any one who need to stay at Oamaru.

Comfortable warm and friendly check in. Nothing a bother. Really enjoyed the spa bath in our suite. Definitely a highlight. Although on check out I left my earrings on bedside table. I was hoping to get an email or phone call but..guess its in the hands of the cleaning persons honesty. My fault, enjoyed our room very much!

This place was awesome. We had a sound proof road as its right on the highway. We had a beautiful meal, played pokies. The staff were wonderful, would highly recommend it

A large motel complex on the main road into Oamaru. We chose the deluxe king room with spa. It has been recently refurbished. The room is spacious. It has microwave (which is on a shelf which is very higha jug and a toaster and a dishwasher, which is odd as we only have 2 plates cups knives and forks. It is noisy as we are close to the main road.

This place is great after travelling down from Christchurch get room 10 we had trouble getting Wi-Fi network but the service from our front desk is the best no trouble helping even at 8.30 at night staying here for the night was great

I stayed here back when it was the Armada motel and was not very impressed. When driving through oamaru I seen the new name the Ascot and decided to give them another go. I was very impressed! the unit I stayed in was amazing. It was beautifully modernized with lovely colors a very comfortable bed and flash bathroom. grate shower new kitchen with dishwasher and all the little things you may need.The best thing for me was im sure i got the same room that i had back when i last stayed. And the last unit i stayed in that was even half as nice cost me far more! So very impressed with the price rates. The new owners were lovely and the difference in the Ascot to the Armada really shows. Thank you Marjie For Easily the best motel experience i have had and good luck with the Ascot its well deserved. I WILL BE BACK
