Arusha National Natural History Museum - Museum in Musoma, Tanzania
Israel was one of the best guides I have had - a real treat to spend a couple of hours being educated by him in all things related to Tanzanians flora and fauna. A very interesting building and gardens. The eagle needs to be returned to the wild though or at least put not a much larger enclosure … however the tortoise is happier than any I have encountered. Very glad to have visited and highly recommend.
A historic resource
Das Museum selbst ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Exponate relativ spannend. Highlighter dann draußen der borltanische Garten und die Schildkröten. Alfred könnte uns vieles über die einheimischen Pflanzen erklären.
A great way to spend an hour or two if you’re in Arusha and want to learn a bit about the history of the area.No big frills but resident turtles and the botanical garden made up for that.Big thanks to Alfred who was volunteering there and showed a couple tourists around with a massive amount of enthusiasm.
Super nice museum. Quiet and full of information and photographs about Tanzania colonialism and fauna. Great visit. If you are lucky you may see a big and old turtle walking around the garden..
Scàry though but nice place to get lost and learn anthropology with a place to shop art or grab a drink..
Very interesting little museum with a lot of good content. The guide Israel is so knowledgeable and his English is fantastic. Definitely worth a visit if you have an hour or two in Arusha.
This place was cute. It was a little chaotic but that just added to the charm of the place. The human evolution hall morphed into a nature gallery which then ended at a taxidermy workshop which exited into the botanical gardens. Lots of renovations going on but will hopefully look nice once it’s done. There is a turtle and a caged eagle on the side. And the art and artist working along with live music in the back is pretty neat.I also enjoyed the German colonization hall which was very informative and detailed.
Beautiful place for a nice walk. The guide Israel was great and kind. Told us a lot of interesting facts and things we didnt realized in the previous Safaris. Definitely worth a good visit If you are around. 12000tnz per person, or 6 usd. The botanical garden is great. Kind of sad that such great animals are jailed after seeing them free, but guess they are used to be like that and wouldnt survive outside now that they are well cared.
I enjoyed the tour especially the Botanical Garden. Did not expect to learn that much. Definitely a worthwhile visit
It needs dome maintenance
This is so pretty place, for the all ur favorite thing, there is more things that u cant trusted.
Mention town
Nice place to learn
You are welcome at Arusha national park really is very beautiful
Definitely worth a visit. I recommend a guided tour. Also, they do taxidermy.
This place is verry nice
For historical lovers here is where!
Not a lot of information… better watch a YouTube video. also, they keep an eagle in a cage that is way too small for the animal. Plus in the end for the bad service they still aks for a tip… unbelievable!
A cool place to spend time knowing the historical background of Tanzania that will directly enhance patriotism
Hosts the largest collection of wildlife information in town. Worth the visit.
An unassuming place that carries a surprising weight of history - the write ups about German occupation are informative, and the botanical garden was nice to walk through.
Its a nice visit to get ready for safari or for kids
Great place
Nice place to spend some time while in Arusha, a bit of local history, a flora and fauna exhibition, mini botanical garden and a fish pound!Surrounded of nice Coffe places and restaurants in the area!
Natural museum is located in the green environment and has also a botanical garden
A very family place to visit to learn about history of Tanzania before colonial, colonial and post colonial history
Good
The place where by all animals are made by special fiber in natural animal leather, I cant touch lion but at least I was able to touch his leather!! The amazing place to study the human history from 7 million years before.
It has the stories and facts about animals, reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, insects and more; on their conservative and endangered situation from human cause. Tastes of cultural cafe and art work center plus a botanical garden. Its a place not to miss while in Arusha.
Because of my career
The best place for city tour in Arusha city
Unfortunately a rather old and tired display! Need more about the history of the building and Arusha town incorporated also.
Detailed and helpful...A good place of learning the evolution stages of man with demonstrated pictures
Amazing place with deep history. I loved the photos and stuffed animals in the third building. Very beautiful art at the back of the museum. Incredible ambience with vegetation, flowers and the tranquility of the flowing river
Historical area
Caged animals in a place where most tourists come to see free animals in the wild probably not the best idea
Great! A lot to see! Reasonable price! The art market behind is very nice. Don’t forget to bargain ;-)
Natural Museum, Historical
Absolutely beautiful
An awesome place. Good for visit. Allow for atleast 2hrs as there are much exhibits to see.Warm welcome too and not too expensive for locals and east Africa citizens
Sadly, the museum isnt taken care of properly. Such a shame! And I just think it should have dedicated to Arushas Germans colonial history and its growth over the years. Really disappointing.
History of Tanganyika readily available in the space
Wonderful and so interested place to stay and visit
Good place to visit
Tourism
A quiet and somewhat dusty museum. I seemed to be the only visitor this afternoon. They have a collection of very nice photographs of lots of flora and fauna but there are very few signs to tell you where to start and end. A brush up of the history of man would make it more interesting, they do have the material. The botanical garden was a dusty and leaf littered area in need of some love and care. An empty terrarium makes you wonder where the inhabitant went, it only left some dried old skins behind.
History gives us identity we get to know where were from and know how to shape the future to get better version all our selvesNice place with lots to learn from the human evolution to German Boma and wildlife animalsAll at the musem
Just behind the beautiful view of Arusha International Conference Centre(AICC),you find this amazing view of local history and nature...
This museum resides inside the German Boma or Arusha. Its a beautifull building, with mt meru behind it. The museum consists mainly of wildlife pictures.
