400 Pine St, Burlington, VT 05401, United States, Burlington
Hip performance venue, gallery & cafe features New American eats, plus craft cocktails & local beer.
I finally got a chance to go to Arts Riot and am just sorry I had waited so long to go. Its a great place; a little quirky with a lot of interesting design features. The food is great, a fusion of Cuban and Peruvian cooking with special touches from an inspired chef. Check it out!
Love this place! Great quality brunch food with live music.
You must try the Ranch Water!!! Best cocktail on the market.
Unique place. Artsy funky vibe. They have artsy movies, local bands and artists, comedy nights, and even murder mystery dinners (def trying one). Good drinks (they can their own line of cocktails. Bit hit or miss with food. On Saturdays in the summer they have live music and food on covered deck. Great place to cool off after pine street market. Looks like now that things are normalizing therell be consistent hours and events. Really happy this place exists.
Since new ownership, the food menu isnt what it once used to be. Also - beer and drink prices have gone up by quite a bit. $8.75 for Fiddlehead. When I went to pay, I noticed that that price didnt include tax! Almost every bar in Burlington includes tax on their drink prices. That alone is backwards. 3/5 is my rating. Still a great venue, but not as nice as it once was.
Updated June 2022 (original review underneath)ArtsRiot has changed owners and the dining experience is unfortunately not what it used to be. The restaurant now feels more geared to those seeking food before a show. They have a few interesting menu items, but its a mostly stagnant menu, with smaller dishes and less fresh and flavorful items. Heavy emphasis on their canned cocktails, which are good, but expensive for what they are.I wish we could have the old ArtsRiot restaurant back!-----ArtsRiot has a fantastically varied menu that changes regularly. Youll always find basic comfort foods, but if youre looking to eat something you wouldnt regularly expect from an American restaurant, this is the place to go
Went to a show, the staff was super nice. Great experience
A cool space with a fun vibe. Small menu, but a great selection. There is a decent space for live music, an eclectic collection of art on the walls, and a super friendly staff. Its one of my new, favorite restaurants.
The food scene in Burlington has all but died thanks to Covid 19. ArtsRiot is forging ahead and positioning themselves for a blockbuster summer! Their Kale Benedict stole the show for me at Sunday Brunch. I don’t usually order the home fries but these were clearly exceptional. Blackened spice and cooked to perfection. The house made English muffins didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect in an art’s neighborhood.I will be back to review their canned cocktails!
Food was amazing. We had the fried chicken and the bananas foster French toast. Charming local place where art is a central theme to the beautiful atmosphere. Games were also a great touch for some camaraderie time.
Ive always liked this place, funky with some unusual artwork inside. Service has always been fine. I am lacking a star because the drink menu was not as creative or inclusive as I had been used to previously. Have gone quite a few times and enjoyed a whiskey cocktail. This menu was different, maybe a summer thing but not as great as I remembered. The drink I had was okay. Im not sure if something has changed beside covid and understanding how that affects businesses I get it. Still a funky health conscious environment.
100% I not recommend! I was there because I saw some menu pictures in a some web sides and in interest to go there because I “saw the pics” when we arrived there and when THE “suppose hostess “ accurately she is very not professional she ask us about the proof COVID test and she ask us about the ID to proof. She was very rude when I realized my document I left at the hotel, I understand the rules but we ask her “if is possible “ take out “ and she say no because we not able to get in side of the building. Probably is very good restaurant for locals but not for travelers. And another’s we have a good e experience. And if you forgot you proof vacionatio. You not able to have take out. The employees look like they were there to play with the customers.
Slightly above average food and a fun atmosphere. Love seeing shows here too
The food was quite plain. Not a lot of effort or stile show. Staff was overwhelmed not enough of them for the number of people seated. Had to ask for more coffee. It would not be a first choice for me.
Stopped for lunch while biking around Burlington and I really enjoyed their take on a Mexican torta. The riot fries were super crispy and flavorful, but $20 for a meal was a little too pricey.
This place has so much potential, the space is really cool and I used to enjoy coming when they did the food trucks. We got beers and they were pretty warm, when we asked they said its a combination of the glasses being warm and subpar fridge on the kegs. Not the people workings fault, but it sounded like this was just accepted as the way to serve beer. Go to zero gravity if you want a cold beer.I like spicy food and a bahn mi is one of my favorite sandwiches. We ordered it here and it is not bahn mi, nor was it edible. It was basically a piece of fried chicken with coleslaw on top. Even that wouldnt bother me as its an adaption of a bahn mi, but there were so many red chile falkes on it that you couldnt eat it (Like if you order thai hot at a real thai place). Not sure if it was a kitchen mishap or what. We asked for a rec from the person taking orders and Im surprised they didnt mention any warning that it was even a little spicy.Long story short I spent about $60 for 4 warm beers and an inedible sandwich. I know its just in the reopening stage so I really hope this place gets better.
Fried chicken and biscuits and banana fosters french toast were both delicious, and the bloody Mary was perfect. Thank you! We will be back. Also, greatly appreciate the handicap accessible entrances.
Came here for brunch with family and it was excellent! I got the special wrap which had eggs, hash browns, veggies, and it was crispy and excellent! I also got the Sparkling Rosé cocktail-so delicious and creative-I got a second!
Great place to enjoy drinks and food. I ordered the Riot Nachos which were the best meatless nachos i’ve ever had in my life. This is coming from a person who loves to order nachos. The cauliflower tasted amazing in the nacho and the nacho seasoning on the chips was incredible. Also, must order their frozen mojito. A special combo that will make you leave the place with a smile on your face.
I’m so happy that ArtsRiot is BACK! They’re not only re-opened but they’ve also captured the same great food, drink, and service that they had at their best before their recent hiatus. The food and drink menu has some of their best old staples along with new options (including good fresh saladsand at reasonable prices. My partner and I went for dinner this Sunday and had a great time. It looks like Google doesn’t yet have all of the updated hours so be sure to check their website!
Very cool arts venue/performance space/restaurant. Tasty food, tasty beers on tap (and can).Primarily, though, I love this venue for its concert space. Smallish performance area, standing-space only. Great sound. And the venue gets HOT, so be prepared to shed.Clothing layers.Be prepared to shed clothing layers.
Nice venue, friendly staff, hip restaurant attached.
I like this place a lot as a music venue, and I used to like it as a restaurant. However, they recently changed their menu and it now only has about five options. I went with their burger, which tastes pretty good. However, I wouldn’t classify it as a burger, it’s a slider at best. For $9 (fries are extraI expect more. I would change my rating if they expanded their menu and either made their signature burger bigger, or reduced the cost.I wish I could rate the restaurant separate as I’d give it two stars, and five stars to their music venue and space out back for food truck Friday’s.
Great food, awesome bands, cool vibes, solid beer selection. Food truck stop is too crowded, skip it.
One of my favorite local places to see music. Amazing staff, great beverage options, and an all around fun atmosphere. Im yet to try the food, but hear its amazing.
Edit: since the head chef left this year, the quality of the food has decreased significantly. Still a good business worth supporting, but I can no longer give it 5 stars.Ive never been involved in a riot, nor ever really seen one, but I am an artist, and more importantly I eat food and enjoy an occasional adult beverage, which pretty much makes me an expert for the purposes of writing a review on this place. Good news: you too can become an expert, just follow the advice of my review and go eat there.Bottom line: this place has delicious food (my fav burger in town), good people work there (they seem to even enjoy my childrenand they give it to you at a reasonable price. Its a favorite local hangout and neighborhood hub for a reason.I cant speak to the plethora of amazing artists they bring in (see previously mentioned little people for detailsbut Ive heard only good things about it as a venue. And this review would be incomplete without mention of the food truck stop during the summer. Its weekly and its nearly beyond my ability to describe. Actually its within my abilities but this review is reaching its length limit. So lets just say its a great spread of local food, some good music, and a lot of hungry people.
All the food tasted good, but tiny portions especially for the prices. They are known for the burgers, it’s decent but nothing to write home about. Expensive drinks very light on the alcohol. Crowded dining area. Cute murals on the walls, but for a place that advertises being artsy it’s kind of lacking. Not a place I’d eat at again. Lots of folk music in the live music area, not my scene wish they had more variety.
Indoor space was small for dining, the menu was limited, and a bit overpriced. Got the oxtail main and it was good but would have preferred it without the toast as the toast made it appear as tho there was more meat than there actually was. Cool atmosphere but really think the menu needs some reworking as well as the designing of the interior space.
They changed the menu quite a bit. That being said, the menu options looked to be creative with high quality ingredients. Most of the main plates were 20+ dollars. The middle section of the menu seemed as if they were meant to be shared, but I did not feel as though there was enough on the plate. Please add some 12-18 dollar entree options!
Comfy warehouse type joint with tall bar tables as well as standard. Food was good with a nice selection of local beers. Music playing in the second room lounge area that I did not get to visit, but did not distract from the vibe or noise level in the main dining area adjacent the bar. The place looks like it gets slammed by the locals as evidence by the reservations needed and amble wait staff - a sure sign of consistency and enjoyable foods.
As a photographer, this is a great venue to shoot in. They have a nice birds nest for getting crowd shots and they have a great space. Their staff is super friendly and I had no problems at the door. As a patron, its even better. Great drinks, good food and close to downtown!
If you are tired of the same old wedding, with the same old food and want something that you and your guests will remember for a lifetime, then ArtsRiot is your place. The venue itself is perfectly suited for the best party you’ll ever throw with the best sound system, amazing food, exceptional service and one of the best bars you’ll find. We had ~150 guests at our wedding and the space was perfect - not crowded nor too open just the right balance and plenty of room if you wanted to go bigger. We cannot say enough good things about the food - it is incredibly approachable yet interesting - something for everyone and your guests will not be disappointed. Their service was above and beyond - a detail that is easy to overlook before your wedding but one that truly stands out during and after - the tables were cleared immediately by the attentive staff and every guest was catered to thoughtfully. Our 7-yr old niece wanted lemonade, but unfortunately they did not have any, and while serving all the other guests, one of the bartenders made hand-squeezed lemonade for her. This is a true testament to the quality of service ArtsRiot provides. Everything from vendor check-in to tear-down was a breeze and don’t overlook the fact the space is fully air conditioned for those hot, muggy Vermont days.If you are looking for a venue that can hold hundreds of your closest friends and family, has the best sound, service and food you could ask for and can go until 2am, then look no further, ArtsRiot is your go-to.
What a fun & affordable experience, showcasing what Burlington has to offer. Put it on your calendar, plan on eating affordable and flavorful dishes from local catering trucks. Enjoy a full menu from local breweries and top it off by listening to some great local live music, all wrapped up by 10 pm - catering to those that want to call it an early night and those that are looking for a " Second Act" for the evening.
The live music here is incredible. Great location and atmosphere. . The food trucks are great too! The bar situation however.. comical. I was charged 16$ for a quickly thrown together margarita with Suaza in it. . cheap cheap tequila for 16$? I wont be ordering drinks there anymore.
I liked the venue, for live music. Very cool.I didnt eat at the Restaurant, but the customers seemed to be enjoying the experience. I would eat there next time. Sound system was spot on.My only complaint is, that the venue was sweltering! I had to leave, halfway through the show. Unless they had a major ventilation problem, there is no excuse, for that. How about a vent fan, in the very high ceiling? It was 42 degrees, outside. If you go there, be prepared to strip down!
This is one of the best resturaunts in town and at a great price. The Staple menu items stick around as the rest of the menu changes seasonally to keep you coming back. The live music booking is also top-notch, competing successfully with long-standing venues like Nectars. Great drinks. Amazing staff.
Amazing place with a pretty cool environment. Make sure you guys check the fermented bowls, they are the best!
$12 for a burger that comes with nothing on the side is a bit much. Half price happy hour makes it palatable. Overall, this spot is heavy on hipster vibe but without the quality to back it up
ArtsRiot is nothing if not consistent... consistently amazing!!! Seasonal cocktails and drafts, rotating appetizers and meals on the menu.. Ive been here a bunch and I cant say Ive ever had a poor experience! Wonderful service, great drinks, tasty food. What else is there?! :)
Awesome venue. Beers and grub were tasty and reasonably priced. Everyone there was kind.
Great burgers. Good drinks. Limited menu. Id give it 4 but its a situational place. The vibe depends on the band, event, or activity at the time. Worth checking out though.
Great enviorment and the staff is super friendly, beer could be cheaper but there are alot of cool choices can & draft. Murals inside make the stage enviorment pretty magical and social. Bring your drink outside to the covered seating. Venture out back and see a nice old payphone booth
I only come to arts riot on Ethiopian night, and I love it! The Ethiopian night food is fantastic and worth a trip to town. As for Arts Riot, I love the atmosphere here! The music is great and theyve upgraded their chairs so its also more comfortable to sit and hang out. Great choices of draft beer.
Does it deserve 5 stars? I think its more like "do I recommend ArtsRiot?". Yes! Absolutely! Is it perfect? No. But we love it as one of our favorites. The cocktail menu is innovative and the food is on the healthier side and is delicious. The behind the bar staff is excellent. The table service is as good as whomever is on duty. ArtsRiot has become very popular. This unfortunately is a death sentence for us. But go! If,you can get a table or better yet a seat at the bar you wont be disappointed. But most likely it will be too crowded. Which is why we eventually will stop going...
First time visit to see friends performance "Broadway, Neat with a Twist". Had a fantastic time in this intimate space. I had soda, but looked like a good selection of beer and wine at the small bar in the back. Was told they start serving food at 4 pm at the other side of the building.
Awesome food, amazing cocktails, and a great atmosphere. Before eating here, I had gone to a couple of shows in the venue area and had an absolute blast! Very open space with a small bar in the back corner, and they always bring great artists. My girlfriend and I have gone twice in the past couple of weeks for dinner and have been blown away both times. The steak tartare is phenomenal, and everything weve ordered for entrees has been innovative and delicious! George Lambertson, the chef, is an absolute genius!
Great service, great locale, great food, great drinks, music wasnt too loud. Outdoor seating, wasnt a wait this time, its a popular place.
A really nice time at the Friday night food truck event. People of all ages. Food was top quality with great variety too. Wonderful beer selection and music makes it all complete.
Such an awesome (seasonalmenu, everything is well done and has had some serious thought out into it. I havent had a sub par meal here ever. Drinks are good, ambiance is fun. Its sort of fine dining without all the fuss.Every now and then something incredibly spicey makes its way onto the menu so ask about that if youre sensitive.
Our favorite restaurant in Burlington because of the seasonal ingredients, variety, and great food & service.Best burger in town! House ground beef and hand made rolls, perfect temp, and toppings; addicting burger!Innovative, yet classic menu and fair prices. Wide variety of quality cocktails, drafts, and wine.
