Arthur Paul's Great American Steak and Seafood in Orangeburg

Walked in one day and immediately walked out. By the way the owner is being VERY argumentative in these responses. Easy turn off before i try to come again.

The atmosphere was not what I expected but, the steak was perfectly cooked to my liking.

Best steak in Orangeburg hands down. Waitress Tiffany is great and the chef is amazing.

Was great food. Not busy but friendly staff. Definitely would go back.

We walked in and most of the tables had not been cleaned including ours. We left after about 10-15 minutes of no clean table, no menu, and no waitress. I went next door to the Palms thinking it was a different restaurant. No. It was the bar attached … and they used the same kitchen. An hour later I had eaten my salad but our entrees were nowhere in sight and customers that came in after us were told that there is a delay and that there were 6 orders that had not been served yet…including ours. Don’t eat here.

Ribeye was great. The place seemed clean, and the staff was very attentive.

Sounds like. Chef Ramsey is gonna be making his first trip to Orangeburg,SC!!! LOl

Ok let me start with I am very non confrontational usually when I receive the wrong food I just eat it no big deal.. but this place was horrible. We had a Christmas party and this place was called two weeks prior to make sure they could accommodate the number of people in the party (12 totalthey said it would not be a problem. We arrive the day of and were told they didn’t have several things on the menu including any chicken items,pasta, crab legs, lobster, any pork items and they only had 1 1/2 racks of ribs available. So we were disappointed but decided to stay since we were there already. Drinks were ordered and everyone that ordered liquor had to walk next door to the pool hall to get their drinks. The waitress who was outside smoking with other members of the crew asked if members of my party could come to her to give their food orders, this was odd but we complied. It took over an hour to receive our food and much of it was either overcooked or not correct. One member of my party ordered salmon and got two small pieces of a white fish that appeared to be catfish or Tilapia but it wasn’t salmon. The food was also in Togo containers which we took as a hint to leave. Each member paid for their food and on top of everything they added a $8.00 gratuity on everyone’s bill. I will never eat there again… worst experience ever. I would rather eat McDonald’s on the park bench of Central Park fighting off pigeons before ever stepping foot in this place again.Please read the reviews before going to this place to many long wait times and bad service. Then after this review the owner has the ball$ to blame the customer I don’t think so buddy. If you have cameras please post them so we all can see what trouble we caused.. you won’t because all you will see is a bunch of people sitting around a table with empty drink glasses playing gift giving Christmas games. There were no out of line people sitting at that table. And as the only white couple at this party I hate to throw the race card but it really seemed that this place treated the people of this party very differently than what I’m used to.. so again post your pictures with the time stamps and don’t forget make sure you post the only white guy in the party since we were causing a scene.. I’ll be waiting just like I was waiting on my food.

Tonight was my first experience at Arthur Paul’s “Steak House”, it was for our company Christmas party. I read reviews and people seemed to be happy with the experience, so I was hopeful even though my parents had gone the year before and said that they would never go back.Our reservation was at 7:30pm, I did arrive a little bit after reservation time and joined my group at their table and was told by the wait staff that most of the menu items were unavailable. At that point I decided not to order any food and just asked the server for a beer. ( I am in my early 20’s and was not carded to make sure I was over 21. It took 20 mins before I got my drink and by the time I left my party at 8:35pm, no one had been served their food.

This is my first and last time eating at this so called restaurant. We had reservations (set almost two weeks in advancedfor 7:30. We arrived by 7:25/7:28. We were told almost 90% of their menu was not available because they didn’t have it. There was probably 12 of us. We ordered our drinks (no one got refills). Those of us that ordered alcoholic beverages had to go next door (the pool hallto get them. Then we ordered our food. My husband and I got skipped for our order so I walked up to the waitress that was standing at the register to ask her if we could order. She told me to go to her to order. I complied because I didn’t want to cause a scene or anything. We waited over an hour for our food to come out. We placed our orders around 8/8:15. Most of the food was either over cooked or not right. I ordered Salmon. My “Salmon” was very white, small, and thin. It also did not taste like salmon. Someone in our party witnessed the wait stuff sitting outside smoking cigarettes multiple times while we waited for our food. Our food came out in to go containers because they were closing/closed and clearly wanted us to leave. On top of all of this they had the gall to charge all of us $8 for gratuity. DO NOT EAT HERE! EVER!!!Update: My boss asked for Togo plates because we did not realize the time and he felt bad for us being away from our families as long as we were. None of us expected to spend 3+ hours just waiting on service. Do not let the “owner” sway you into thinking our party was rowdy and required the police. We were nothing but cordial and even kept to ourselves. We were the only ones in the entire restaurant and never saw the owner or a manager once. We are not the people to upset. I did however happen to notice that we were the only party in the restaurant when we walked in that was primarily African-American. If you are planning on eating at this establishment, do yourself a favor and ask if this type of management style is the one you want to be a patron at.

The customer service the food and the experience was terrible tonight. I was there with the party of about 12 people its supposed to be for our Christmas dinner with my job I got there 7:30 first off they informed my supervisor that they werent prepared for us, when the reservations were made a week in advance for 7:30 tonight after we all arrived we were sitting there we waiting on drinks we were told they didnt have over half the menu thats including drinks and we still proceeded to stay and place our orders for fellowship and since we were already there. We waited over 2 hours to receive food we had to get the food to go and everyone still managed to pay their bill in full. There was never any issue we stayed and we also played games to kind of pass the time and we laughed and talk amongst ourselves after dinner we proceeded to go next door to the palms to have drinks and refused service. Do not patronize this restaurant the staff the food is terrible all around even if they know theyre in the wrong they will still try to blame the customer. And all of them will take a smoke break together knowing they have orders to be filled and customers to be served. They will also called the police on you for their terrible customer service that they want you to accept and spend your hard earned money on patronizing their establishment.

Didnt have what I really wanted (lobster). Food & service was good. Cost extra to use cards. Bon appetit.

Fast, friendly service. Nice atmosphere

Service was good, but food left alot to be desired. Prime Rib tasted like shoe leather, no flavor and very tough.

We went to Arthur Pauls today for lunch after a Dr appointment. We had the best steak we have had in a long while. The service was impeccable. If you want a great meal as well as great service, give Arthur Pauls a try. You definitely wont be disappointed.

Went tonight about 8pm. My first time. I got fried shrimp, hubs got the grilled 3 choice plate. Parents had steaks and ribs. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was hot, tasted great and nothing was to greasy. The hushpuppies are TO DIE for. Price was reasonable for quality of food. Decor is a little drab but Ive eaten at road side huts in Bahamas so as long and its clean and fresh im.down. will def be back

My steak tasted good, but was cold. My husbands steak was almost impossible to cut. Both steaks were not cooked to the doneness requested.It is never a good sign when the waitress at a steakhouse offers you A1 and H57 before your meal even arrives at the table. I requested A1 just in case. I happened to stick my finger in the A1 cup to taste it before the food arrived. It was awful! The waitress freely admitted that it was private label version and not the real thing.My twice baked potato tasted funny - almost like it had freezer burn.The ambiance was disappointing as well. For a steakhouse with $25 steaks, I expected a lot more. It needs to be completely remodeled. Literally, everything needs to be replaced including the plates and chairs.Speaking of plates, our steaks were served on clear glass salad plates.Our waitress was very attentive and sweet, if not a little gruff.I would not return to this restaurant.

Asked for well done ribeye steak.. Received very well done on outside and red on inside steak. The seasoning wasnt great either. The side salad was fresh. Wasnt worth it.

It took almost an hour for us to get our meals when they finally got there the chicken I ordered which was the Hawaiian chicken was extremely dry the mac and cheese was gritty and grainy the jalapeno poppers that I ordered were extremely overcooked my buddies chef salad had crispy hard grilled Chicken in it and the wings that were ordered were over salted

We were seated got our drinks and after about 45 min we said House of Pizza will never even look that direction for food again

Came to eat with my family! Had 7 total. Was showed to our table was never given menus had to retrieve them our selves. After 10 minutes was never greeted. The server was too busy talking to another table that came in way after us. Horrible service! Specially for the price of food you would think the service would be better!!

Scallops were delicious. Fries were great. Salad dressing was overly done. Chicken was dry. Lobster was undercooked. Overall, it wasnt as good as I expected.

Went for my parents anniversary dinner. Way too over priced and the fodod was horrible. I have NEVER ordered a steak before and had least 1/2 of it be fat and not consumable.

Bad service, never given silver even after we asked, food was average, beer was flat. The only good thing was the hush puppies but they were really small.

I love this place. Every time I go home I eat there when I have an opportunity. Everything is good! The burgers are amazing! The fries are soooooooo good!

This was my first time visiting Arthur Pauls and Im unsure if I will return. I ordered 2 Chef salads and an order of wings. When I arrived to the restaurant I was told they were out of wings and I could replace the item. This wasnt an issue and I declined the additional item and just requested to keep the salads. After waiting for awhile I was given my order. My chef salad had no rotisserie chicken as described, and had very little meat. One salad had ham pieces that were mostly fatty pieces. The salads were a whopping $25.00. The waitresses however were very polite.

This was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We waited approximately 45 minutes for our food. When the food finally arrived we were over charged. We were charged for items included in our meal that we did not ask for. We ordered streamed vegetables as a side item for our meal and were charged extra for the broccoli in the steamed vegetables. We were also charged $2.99 for onion rings that were supposed to be only a$.99 up charged for a substitute side item. I told the young lady that took the payment about the discrepancies and she said there was nothing she could do because she didnt take the order. Even worst, when I got home and looked at my food, the side salad that was supposed to come with my meal was missing. To top it off, my food tasted like it was a microwaved frozen meal. I dont recommended that anyone waste their time or money at this restaurant.

Great place! Clean, neat, three different rooms mama one room is somewhat classy and romantic. Very good food, priced well, good deal.

Arthur Pauls has amazing food, staff, and atmosphere! It is the best kept secret in Orangeburg. My husband and I tried it tonight and both got the ribeye steaks and they were both cooked and seasoned perfectly. We will definitely be making it a regular place to eat!I cannot say enough great things about it.

Good was delish. Staff was friendly. We has a party of 22, so it took some time to get all the food out. Worth the wait.

Appetizer was high priced (samplerfor the amount also chips looked to be store bought Totinos brand. Fries were limp and full of grease. Main meals chicken (blackenedon Alfredo was terrible cuts of meat. Lots of questionable fat and texture. Pineapple chicken was extremely dry. Mac and cheese had no flavor and lacked cheese, cheese was gritty. Even the buffalo dip was burnt crisp on the edges proven its nuked in a microwave. Server was nice and polite to get the food was extremely slow. $60 bill for 2 meals we brought home to the dog and cat.

Food was top-notch, atmosphere was quaint and intimate, place was clean. Would recommend.

When I did my monthly shopping during their recent 3 day sale event, they had little to none of the advertised products on my list available on the first day. Like items were not grouped as they should be. For example, the ready made pizza crusts were on an endcap of the frozen foods section instead of the bread or pasta and sauce isle. I had to get a raincheck on the SteakUms because they only stocked the Philly brand. Their great 3 day deals were on already overpriced items--in reality it was more of a bait-and-switch sale (16 oz bags of frozen raw shrimp regularly priced 19.99 for $5.89--I can get the same thing at Wal-Mart for $6 anytime). The only good thing I can say is my bill was $146 but after applying my Rewards card the final balance was $63 and change. I will gladly change my rating if they do anything to improve the shopping experience but until then, Ill be looking elsewhere.

My family tried for the first time tonight. It was nice and a change from the same old same old. The only complaint we had was it was probably about 85° in the dining room. Its hard to enjoy a meal when youre wiping sweat.

The environment was had a smoky smell to it. The wait staff was very friendly. The food was served at a good temperature.

Excellent dinner tonight! I had the scallops & hubby had the pork medallions. Hush puppies are the best ever! Sweet potato fries very sweet and crispy, brown rice yummy! A cold beer for him & a nicely chilled glass of pinot for me. No room for dessert but chose an apple cobbler to go...had a taste when we got back to our hotel, will definitely enjoy it warmed tomorrow. Our waitress Leisha was very attentive and sweet. A great place to eat if you want to get away from all the chains!

this place is so bad I went this weekend pass to a baby shower and we had a lots of people , half of our orders were mess up, they did fix it its seems as all the food were cooked in fish oil , i will nor go back at all.

Virtually empty at lunch. Server was friendly and attentive. Chicken salad flavor good, mostly dark meat, tomato and lettuce nice. Unfortunately my wife had small bone in her chicken salad.

Food was amazing. The ribeye steak was so tender and tasty. I will definitely be going back real soon.

Service was top notch and friendly. Place was clean and tasteful. Just a tad bit dark, food was good, but no bread with meal.

EXCELLENT service and staff. Orange-teriyaki wings are DELICIOUS, as were the shrimp and scallops. The place is a little difficult to find, but well worth it. Will DEFINITELY be back.

Been here twice. First time was when they first opened and wasnt happy with the service. My wife and I gave it another try and I most say... excellent.. and may I suggest the ribs. By far the best ribs I have ever had. There not on the menu but they have them. One word to describe them.. WOW. Thanks to Dwayne and the rest of the staff for a much better experience.

Found this hidden gem in Orangeburg. The best steak, ribs and shrimp Ive ever had!! (HonestThis is definitely the best restaurant in Orangeburg. No more having to travel out of town in order to get great food. Service was great and the beer was ice cold. Definitely going to be our every Friday date night destination. Im so happy they are here❤️

Great atmosphere,there was actually a live band playing as well,The staff was very friendly staff,and not to mention the food was cooked to perfection.Definitely will be coming back!!

The food was delicious at great value! We ordered steaks and they were cooked exactly to our liking! Service was wonderful and the atmosphere is a great but bit open (would prefer a divider here or there for more privacy). Definitely a hidden gem and we will return!
