Armenian Alphabet Monument in Ashtarak

One of my most favourite places in Armenia. Make sure to go there and take plenty of photos!

Unique museum in open air area, a must visit.

Впечатление просто не передать словами... Армянский алфавит, каждая буква огромный монумент, Есть место продажи сувениров и мороженного. Беседки для отдыха не далеко и парковка.

Ist halt für Touristen gemacht. Nett gestaltet aber kein Muß. Extra hinfahren lohnt nicht.

Interessantes Monument, bestehend aus dem Armenischen Alphabet. Die Buchstaben sind aus Stein gemacht und das Gelände ist frei zugänglich.

The place is located a short drive from yerevan and in the intersection diversion towards amberd fortress.Its layed down in an open ground. Anytime we can visit. The place is layed with all armenian alphabets and its authors idols. Carved and layed downnvery beauyifully in red colored stone.

Seen just beside the midway road going towards Amberd, the area where stones are made in the shape of armenian alphabets, good for photography and nice landscapes, small pond etc

Great peaceful place. Wonderful sights.

Can be useful if you are learning armenian alphabet, otherwise it has no historic or sentimental value, in my modest view.

Very interesting and unique place. Nowhere in the world I saw such a monument devoted to letters of the alphabet. There are also status of famous Armenians on site. Plus a small lake with ducks in it. And drinking water.

Its quite good, i have no idea if that all statue was real from ancient time or just a normal bricks, theres no information or history thomb for foreign tourist

Its nice but the climate is horrible , You have to check very well the weather first before you go .

Open air monument dedicated to Armenian Alphabet. 30 minut from Yerevan, if you passing around just stop here and take photos with the first Letter of your name. Do not recommended when it raining, you will be covered with mud !!!

An Armenian Alphabet a must to see

Il monumento dedicato all alfabeto armeno è uno dei siti più caratteristici di tutta lArmenia. Situato lungo la strada che da Artashat si dirige verso Aparan è facilmente raggiungibile. Le 39 lettere sono perfettamente rappresentate in pietra arenaria multicolore. Il panorama circostante è bellissimo e nelle vicinanze cè anche un piccolo chiosco di bibite.

It’s a cool open air letter gallery. If you have a car and you are passing by, then by all means stop. But I wouldn’t go out of my way or hire a driver just for that. A suggestion would be to have some information about the letters, maybe their phonetic sound so that the visitors learn more about the Armenian alphabet.

Памятник армянскому алфавиту находится недалеко от села Арташаван Арагацотнской области, на западном склоне горы Арагац.Комплекс был построен в 2005 году, к 1600-летию создания армянской письменности.Включает скульптуры 39 букв армянского алфавита, а также памятники великих армянских мыслителей. Все буквы и статуи сделаны из армянского туфа. Армяснкий язык представляет отдельную ветвь в индоевропейской семье языков. Армянская письменность была создана Месропом Маштоцом в 405 году; ею пользуются в Армении, Нагорном Карабахе, Джавахке, в общинах армянской диаспоры, в различных арменоведческих и культурных центрах.На армянском языке была создана богатейшая литература. Это письменность древней, средневековой и современной цивилизации; она имеет огромный вклад в сокровищнице мировой культуры.

Out in the middle of nowhere but the entire alphabet is represented in stone

Could locate our first names. Appreciate the thought to memorise positivity and respect to knowledge.

Nothing much to see other than Armenian alphabets and nature.

Lovely location and letters of the Armenian alphabet and legends of culture. Free and easy access. Look behind to see the cross that is made of crosses. Symbol of what Armenia has had to pay for the Christian religion.
