Arktikum Arboretum in Rovaniemi

The Botanic Arctic Garden was a nice place for a short walk, but maybe not at its best at the end of August.. Not much information available. Quite a lot of traffic noise.

The Arktikum garden is a year round scenic spot. Always beautiful. The garden changes with each season. Maintenance is incredible! In winter it is a place where people come to watch the northern lights or take a winter hike. In summer the midnight sun is equally breathtaking from here. Recommend if your visiting the city.

Very nice museums and exhibitions and the gardens next to it are open all day and offer amazing views! Definetely worth the visit!

Great place to view the northern lights. Just make sure you dress warm as you will most likely be out there for a few hours!

It is a great museum about local social and natural life (although the display is somewhat all mixed together). It fits both children and adults. If you want to go through all halls in details, you probably need more than 4 hours. Theres a very lovely museum Cafe.

Vimos las luces del norte en enero, tras un par de intentos en el Arboretum: tuvimos suerte con las nubes y la actividad solar. Beautiful dark place for watching stars. If you are lucky,this is the place for observing Aurora Borealis in the city.

Had the chance to enjoy the final moments of autumn colors in Rovaniemi while wandering through the park. I wanted to take pictures of everything, the trees were so beautiful.

It seems to be the most beautiful place in Rovaniemi. Its like a different world that comes out only after passing a tunnel in Arctium.

An artic museum great and interesting, if you like looking around museums theres a cafe for drink or food, plus areas to sit and rest when you get tired. Closed on Monday.

Beautiful park with many species of northern plants (everywhere signs with names). Quiet and peaceful place. Very beautiful view of the dome of the Arktikum museum.

Arctic Science Center. The End part of Glass-made Tube is partly on the River Ounasjoki, nearby The Kemijoki River. Fabulous ! Incredible ! UNIQUE 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Too much light pollution for good viewing of the Northern lights at night, particularly from 2 large floodlights across the river. Worth checking out though. I recommend taking a right after the bridge and walking down the track 30m towards the highway. Theres a small bench by the water with a decent view northwest (away from the city/highway lights). Also, a DSLR camera is a must. My phone camera doesnt do it justice!

A recommended place to take a walk in great forest tracks on the side of the river Ounasjoki. Great place to learn about the arctic plants and trees which are well marked on the sideways. The humming sound of transportation can be little irritating being near the highway specially in the peak hours.

Lieu unique à Rovaniemi ! Notre endroit préféré pour admirer les aurores boréales, par contre lorsquil y a trop de monde ce nest pas facile de prendre des photos... Très agréable pour se balader lorsquil fait beau. Je recommande ce lieu !

Ok for one time visit

Nice place, and the nearest one to the city centre for watching the Northern lights. Of course it shoulb be dark outside, so, if you want to see the Aurora the best time is from October to April aftet 7-9 pm.In the summer time you can enjoy walking and cycling here. Good place for families with children 🚸
