The food is absolutely delicious

I dont’t know how it has got do many good opinions. It’s below average. Fish is really bleh. It’s really below level of taverns around this place

exceptional quality and service at a surprising low cost, the fish was todays catch and perfectly grilled. Fully recommended

Fabulous place. Lovely, friendly staff and amazing food at great prices. Really recommend the pork gyro, which was also huge.

Family ran place. Genuine food at very reasonable prices. The portions are big, so watch it if you order. Often a plate can be shared. Offers Greek cuisine and meat as well as fish with some vegetarian dishes.

The restaurant is placed in a very nice place near the beach.I chose the pita with gyros!! The food was magnifasent.The owner is vert polite aswell i rate it a 5/5,would come again!!!

An international group of 8 friends, including myself, had dinner at the Aris Katerina Taverna yesterday evening. Words are not enough to describe how great it was! Appetisers, main courses, fruits, desserts and drinks were all of top quality! Most importantly, the service was impeccable and the family running the Taverna were extremely kind and friendly, helping us feel comfortable and have a great time! It was a great evening, and I strongly recommend it to whoever wants to have a nice dinner close to the sea at Heraklion! Πολλά συγχαρητήρια και σας ευχαριστούμε!

This is a great place, lots of local dishes or other european food (bolognese, wiener schnitzel). Kind service even though it was busy. Extra bread and fruit at the end, which was lovely.

Very good food, good prices, the waiter recommend us a beef stew...delicious. the meat was so tender. Excellent!

Very friendly. Food was delicious, especially the local sausage and feta with sesame and honey. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Ordered pork steak/cutlet, the meat was overcooked and tough to chew.Others’ orders are not good either. Very disappointed.The worst part is the smoke from other diners (the windows and doors are wide open and basically there is no indoor or outdoor boundary).The day before we tried Mitato near by and its excellent.

Saw this place on trip advisor so visited for an evening meal and it was delicious well worth a visit 😋

The worst food weve had on Crete. I dont really understand the rating of this taverna. But I recommend all to try a different taverna/restaurant to see the difference. We didnt even get a dessert and ouzu at the end. Seriously very very bad.

The food was really tasty and the service fast and nice! Good position near the beach and fresh fish, if you ever find yourself near Ammoudara beach you absolutely have to go there.

I don’t even know where to startIt’s a family restaurantWe were first time in Crete so we would like to try few things and local food we’ve ordered too much portions are huge don’t order too much food was absolutely amazing fresh fish and fresh salads and I absolutely fell in love with saganaki so make sure you’ll try this also you must try local Raki (alcoholwell done to this restaurant I hope we will come back one day at the end we received a plate of fresh fruit

A very good place for lunches and dinners. The food is tasty, especially recommend grilled swordfish, sardines and all the other Greek dishes. The pita bread they bake is very good. You can sit outside in shady terrace.To cut it short, highly recommend.

Had two very nice meals here. Prices are very reasonable, and the service is quick and efficient. A nice surprise was a delicious complimentary dessert. Well worth a visit.

Cosy place with lots of great food. The people were extremely kind and explained us the differences between some of the dishes. She advised us to take the cod which was excellent. We had fruit salad and a special desert made by the waitress herself, which was absolutely delicious. All of this on the house! Of course raki could not have been missed. Will definitely visit this place again

Our experience here was amazing.We barely sat down and we were greeted and served with some on the house starters that were straight up delicious.The food was prepared fast and kept on coming at the table faster than we could eat.Apart from what we ordered we also got home made dessert and fresh fruits alongside with the well known traditional raki.Thank you very much for the amazing service and explaining us how the dessert was prepared.

We were welcomed very nicely, the food was more than excellent, everything was homemade cooked. A nice lady served us throughout our entire stay there and she brought us great starters, delicious fruits and homemade dessert, and it was all free. We barely managed to eat everything, as the food dishes were very large. Besides the food, we appreciate the fact that we were welcomed with kindness and the location is very close to the beach. Totally recommend it!

Great little place by the beach! Ausgezeichnet! Affordable prices (preiswert). Delicous food, try their specials. After dinner walk 2 min to the beach and have a cocktail.

Clean and cozy, quiet and traditional place in a narrow street nearby the beach. The staff were so nice and friendly, it is beyond words.Went there to have the pork gyrosplate dish based on recommendations and did not regret it. Small surprise desert/drink after dinner! :-Will return in the future. God bless.

Great food and friendly stuff. They also gave us you some fruits after we finished our dishes during lunch :)

We ate there for lunch, and I had mussels with spaghetti. It was rather bland, and there was a real problem with the mussels—they weren’t cleaned well and a few shells were crushed up in the pasta. My wife had a salad which wasn’t fresh. The service here, however, was excellent.

Lovely familly restaurant! The food is excellent. The mother cooks and the daughter waits the tables. We ate lunch twice and we loved it. Its cozy and the waitress is very friendly and always with a smile on her face.

Super, SUPER friendly and quick service. The food was fantastic, fresh and perfectly prepared by the chef who is a family member. The prices are very inexpensive for the quality and portion sizes. It was also very clean with a great home made white wine!This place is great!!!!
