Arepitas in Killeen

Let me tell you!!! This was our first time trying Venezuelan food and omg this was delicious 😋 so flavorful, the service 💯 every one grated us and with a smile overall 10/10 , I had the arepas with pork and my fiancée had la parrillita 2 people can eat from that one it was huge. I’m sooo happy with this experience cause lately I had bad food in other places. Thank you so much and you’ll see me again. The place was clean as well very pretty and it was packed.

This place is good, I just wish to have a bigger plate to hold the huge arepa, all the filling was getting of my plate.

We thought the food was great and service was good. Food came out relatively quickly and at a good temperature. Crispy fries and flavorful sauces. The only weird thing is that their menu does not include prices, so it is like a suprise bill at the end. Overall not bad though. Thought the place was clean and safe. The parking area was good too. Casual vibe, but people were dressed well.

Today was the first time we visited Arepitas in Harker Heights and we were very pleased. The variety on the menu is very good and the prices excellent. The attention that Yuranis gave us was spectacular, he suggested some dishes from the menu and we were very pleased, the restaurant in general is very clean and the bathrooms too, I really liked the mouthwash in the bathroom, it is a great idea. I congratulate you greatly. And I recommend them 100%.

Easily a five star restaurant with a few improvements. The menu has NO PRICES making it awkward while ordering. THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC but when I tasted the water here, I felt like I was actually south of the border. The complimentary water tasted like mold as did the ice tea. Our waitress spoke NO English making it difficult to ask questions about the menu or explain why we wanted a bottled drink and didn’t want the mold tasting water and tea. The bathroom was impeccable and the restaurant clean. After explaining the moldy taste in the tea to the manager and ordering bottled drinks, the moldy ice tea still appeared on our bill. That shouldn’t have happened … either way, I highly recommend eating here so long as you order bottled or canned drinks. Remember, ASK the prices. I almost ordered the “plate” instead of the “bowl” and the plate apparently is so big that it’s shareable and costs $25 plus while the bowl was around $15 …

Amazing food, great service! The food is so tasty and no matter what you order, you cant go wrong. But the best thing about this place is the helpful and friendly staff. In a world of horrible service, these guys have written the book on how to truly care and serve their clients. Love these guys and we will continue to support them.

First ever taste of Venezuelan cuisine and I must say it was AMAZING!! It was our first visit here and we truly cant wait to come back. Delightfully decorated, roomy dining area, looked very clean and the staff was so helpful with the menu. Portions are HUGE! A lot of bang for your buck here! LOVED IT!

Customer service was impeccable! Alejandro our server was awesome in his recommendations of the dishes to choose. The food was tasty and had my palate jumping everywhere. The portions are great, everything is sharable and the prices match. Don’t wait to have this experience at Arepitas!

Food has been very good. Owner and staff are friendly and helpful. Venezuelan comfort food. Really enjoy eating there. Sometimes parking can be tight as I drive a full size pickup. Recommended by both my wife and I.

Sorry review is late. Definitely surprised. Nice open restaurant. Im shadow of neighborhood. Now as for the food. I will just say you need to try it. This was my first time and Im sold, Im coming back and soon. Looks like it gets busy but well worth it for me so far. Server could use some training. Seemed a little young and either new or not up to the task. When I come back I will give her one more shot if we end up with her. Recommend instruction on how to properly tend to customers. Wasnt busy when we went. But overall experience was very good. Did I mention I love the food. So much selection due to all of it looks so good on menu. I would recommend this to all.

Initially had given 4 stars based upon not having prices on the menu. The restaurant responded with reasoning which made a lot of sense (changing food prices).Will definitely go back.Excellent food - service was outstanding.

Excellent restaurant. Beautiful decor, friendly servers, and great tasting food. A number of people suggested this place to us and it was worth stopping to enjoy a meal. We ordered a couple of bowls and both had so many flavors that worked well together. The large portions allowed us to enjoy a few bits of each others meals.

The food & staff here were both amazing! Our server was super nice and accommodating. She made suggestions of how we could make our orders work without adding additional items, just putting them on the side. She "got" it. ;-)The food was unique and tasted amazing and there was enough for leftovers the next day.I would highly recommend this place.

Food, drink and customer service was good. The bowl was a nice serving size. I had leftovers for the next day that tasted even better. 😋 Definitely going back.

This place is..... Amazing! My favorite new place in Bell County! The good is incredible, service excellent and I will always recommend people to try the empanadas, arepas and especially the cachapas!!!

This is my first experience in Arepitas. My friend brought me over as this is her favorite restaurant. It was a great experience and servers are super friendly and helpful. The foods are awesome and the portion are a bit big for us and we loved everything we order. I will definitely come back again.

The service is good but I’ve had my order made incorrectly on more than one occasion. Sometimes the flavor lacks until you add the sauce BUT the lime/sugar cane drink is my favorite thing on the menu! The sandwich’s can get soggy super easy so if you don’t like that ask for it separate from the bread. I am not a fan of corn tortillas so if you aren’t either I would not get a sandwich but opt for the rice. The only thing I completely don’t like is every time I get my food they will not make sure the cheese is melted and only place it in one spot. I will return just to try different things.

Enjoy this restaurant so much! The empanadas are my favorite! Really nothing like this, which is why I hope they make a location in SA. Every time I visit Killeen, I know I need to eat here

This was my first time trying Venezuelan food and I was not disappointed! Everything was delicious and when we got the bill I was surprised at how inexpensive it was. The staff were very attentive and friendly. This is my absolute new favorite place!

The waiter was competent and pleasant. The food was flavorful and tasteful. My family and I will definitely come back to visit.

We went for lunch on a Monday and the food took a long time to come out. I didnt mind because Im on spring break but some other guests were annoyed. I just figured quality outweighs efficiency but the guys i was with did ask if it always takes this long. Once the food came there was no more talking. I was worried because the restraunt relocated during the pandemic, expanded their seating and menu that the quality might have dropped off but it is still incredible. They use cloth napkins and real silverware which is always a plus for me. If you order the arrepa you will need a good napkin because they are heaving. All the food has pictures on the menu which is helpful. The dining room was packed and was very diverse which you expect in Killeen. I enjoyed a passion fruit juice and we started with fried cheese. The batter was delicate and not oily at all and the texture of the cheese was smooth and not overly hot temperature wise. It came with a delicious orange hot sauce that paired perfectly. Our server took the hot sauce when he cleared the plate so I asked for some more and got charged for it lol. The only thing I didnt like was getting charged 1.75 for a few slivers of jalapenos and a bit of hot sauce for my arrepa. The server was corny but friendly and the food was enjoyed by all. Both my friends said they would go back.

First I really wanted to like this place, service and resto was nice as well as the food being nicely plated so what was the problem. I hardly ate my food since everything was soo bland Im not sure if this is authentic Venezuelan food but this was one of the few times in my life remembering to add salt to my food since I try to watch my sodium intake Im pretty sensitive to salt. So pretty food and service but bland.

Fantastic food! If you like Venezuelan you’ll love this, it’s sad when they’re out of Cachapas.. The cane juice with lime is delicious. It’s authentic.

Delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere, and reasonable prices. I love the new, larger location. My only 2 suggestions: get rid of the TVs and turn the music down just a bit. Otherwise, one of my absolute favorite places to eat.

What can I say that the menu cannot? The dishes are a symphony of flavors masterfully crafted together. The crazy fries with pork and plantains are my favorite meal. The sangria had fresh fruit and was expertly concocted. My favorite restaurant in town.

What a pleasant surprise! This restaurant was well worth the drive from Temple! The cleanest restrooms Ive ever seen in a restaurant. This food was a delight for all the senses.... Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious! Thank you for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

So, I love Venezuelan food; but this place right here!!! This is the best you’ll get in the Killeen/Central Texas Area. Absolutely amazing atmosphere and easy service (you can just order from your phone!).

We had a good time at Arepitas. It had a nice atmosphere and portion sizes were huge. We have been here in the past at a different location but they have continued to do a great job and got into a nicer location. We will be returning customers for sure.

Food was fresh, healthy, not too heavy. Great service, pleasant atmosphere. Everyone was friendly. Server explained options, as it was our first time eating. Plantains were the best I have had.

My husband and I came here for lunch today for the first time. It was WONDERFUL! So TASTY. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable about the food. We will definitely make the drive AGAIN! 5 STARS*****

BEST RESTAURANT IN THE KILLEEN-HEIGHTS-COVE AREA HANDS DOWN. servers are incredibly polite and super helpful! You can tell the cooks are trained well and care about their results! Ever time I come here the food is always just as good as the time before they are extremely consistent.

Food was fresh and amazing quality in the flavor. Staff was helpful and very kind. We did use the barcode on the table to order our food. Barcode was easy to use, pictures of food with descriptions was super helpful. They only had 2 waitress today during lunch time but honestly couldnt tell with the flow of the restaurant and use of the bar code. We got our food and drinks quickly. Husband and I were super impressed and cant wait to bring the kids to try it out too.

We got the tequeños, party animal arepa, chicken empanada, and pabellon bowl. Pork, beef and chicken were all extremely juicy and flavourful. The cheese in the tequeños are amazing and comes with a good sauce. The garlic sauce is also really good. Plantains were amazing. Everything was really fresh and perfect. Shoutout to Alexander for the amazing service too 💯🖤

Five stars all around. I’ve been in Killeen for over 2 years now and I’m barely coming across this place. So glad I was promoted to visit the other day. I’m looking forward to going back. This place is one of Killeen’s FEW hidden gems 🙌

I was so excited to try this place after watching a cooking show that featured Arepitas and reading all the rave reviews!The hostess was pleasant and I was seated almost right away. It didnt take long for my server to come by, he brought me something to drink and took my order. I decided to give the Texan a try. I was surprised the portion was so big but happy that I was going to have leftovers 😋 ☺ Unfortunately, I found the meat a little dry and in need of some kind of sauce because it tasted a little bland. Perhaps, I ordered the wrong thing and should order something else next time I thought....ok, no big deal. Sooooo, I ask one of the guys cleaning the table if I could get a box to go since my server disappeared somewhere near the kitchen...I could see him standing there staring into air....I get my food boxed and put it in the bag, assemble my dish & fork so it can cleared away. I again look around for my server so I can get my bill, I see him still standing near the kitchen....he looks at me and I think oh good he sees that Im ready to check out and figure hes gonna walk over. Nope! He proceeds to to go pick up an order, ok still no problem.... hes gonna come over after he serves the food? Right? Again, no....finally after about 20 mins of waiting on this guy, I decide to go to the Takeout Orders only line so I can pay for my meal. Even though I didnt enjoy the meal, I wouldve tried the restaurant again BUT the poor customer service will not have me returning.

This was our first time trying Venezuelan food and it was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was wonderful. We ordered fresh passion fruit juice and raw sugar cane juice. Both were refreshing. Our food was flavorful, fresh and presented beautifully. We will definitely be back.

My mom and I went here and we left full and happy. The staff were polite and friendly. I had the hairy cachapa and my mom has pabellon (both were shredded beef). We also had the tostones with everything on it and passion fruit marquise for dessert. We recommend all of our dishes. They were flavorful and fresh.

This is like international Chipotle for us! Truly exceptional food, reasonably priced and centrally located. We love the drive thru option, but have dined in previously and greatly enjoyed that as well. You and your team do a fantastic job, and we are so glad we finally found Arepitas!

Service is usually great. They are understaffed, so it may take a while for table, food, etc. but the staff are all very friendly and helpful. I love their food, it doesnt matter what you order. I really enjoy getting the tequeños as an appetizer. There is no dress code, so you can come in wearing jeans/shorts and a tshirt, or dress up and it really doesnt matter either way. Sometimes I dress up, sometimes I dont. They never say anything and I never feel uncomfortable.

Service is professional, personable, and quick!! The meals here are fast, and prepared so delicately and eye catching that the flavors and textures are that much more enjoyable. Ive been here multiple times and enjoy my meals each visit!
