Compact counter serve offering ample plates of homestyle Latin-American fare in an unfussy interior.
I gave them another chance, and the service was normal this time. I wish theyd open a location in Grandview similar to the Pearl Street location. This used to be my favorite restaurant, specifically the Pearl and Gahanna locations. I became friends with the owner and servers after going so many times. This location is not friendly. I tried to eat there. I walked 4 miles to get there, literally. No one would serve us. I asked a server for waters instead she ignored us and took out water to a dog instead and literally said she couldnt help us??? Never got even a hello, or well be right with you after 10 minutes. We begged for water and got nothing. Extremely bad business. Honestly this is an embarrassment, and I see this location closing soon.
The arepas are great. Good tostones and guacamole too. Service was friendly and staff seemed to be having a good time.
Hospitality was good. Portion to quality of dishes (apps x entreeswere very commendable. Ambiance was quaint. Excellent date night move.
The amount of delicious tapas that they have here is astonishing! Never had any bad food here and I highly recommend the arepas.
Food is excellent, great happy hour specials, and we really love the vibe! We will definitely be back.
I always have good experiences at this place, but my burrito today was especially delicious. I was picking up for takeout, and the staff was very friendly. Several people checked on me to make sure I had been helped. Love this place!
The food and drinks were excellent. Great flavor in all the food and the prices were very reasonable. Friendly staffWe will be going back regularly. !!!
Loved the tacos al pastor and their signature cilantro sauce. Venezuelan arepa was great (esp compared to Colombian arepas 🫓). Waitress was great. Didnt get 5 stars because we came here for Tapas which they no longer serve. My 2nd choice is empanadas which IS on the menu and proudly displayed on other reviews last week but not available for us today either.
Food is actually quite delicious. No 5 stars just because service seems to be a little hectic in terms of organization. Too many people just running around and direction on addressing tables. Theyre helpful and nice just needs more organization. Again, food great, nothing negative on the food. Tad privey for my taste but probably a good date spot nonetheless. I would gladly eat there again.
Did a happy hour a Arepazo. Margarita was very good, as were the different appetizers our group shared. Split the chimichurri steak entree, which was also quite good. The drink and appetizer specials for happy hour were pretty good deals. Will definitely keep this place in mind as an after work spot.
One of my favorite places in the area. Lomo Saltado and Patacon are favorites. Service is always friendly and food is always great. Tres Leches is yummy. Would recommend :)
Usually I rave to everyone about Arepazos and today I stepped out and tried something new. The first time we ate there in the restaurant my friend order the fajitas and received a huge portion. Today I got take-out and decide to order the fajitas, and when I opened the container and seen the actual "fajita" portion I was pretty mad. And I paid extra for steak that came full of fat and gristle... $18.25... You raised your prices and portions have become next to nothing! Im very disappointed!! I paid for rice and beans and lettuce basically with a side of green peppers and fat! Smh
The food was delicious, we ordered both empanadas and arepas and definitely did not need both. The empanada was massive and for the price I thought I would have gotten a lot smaller portion so pleasantly surprised! Highly recommended, was quick service for lunch but seems like a great place for dinner.
One of our favorite restaurants in Columbus. The staff is always great and the food is awesome. Go here. Soon.
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a while. Started out with the tequenos, a Venezuelan cheesestick. The outside was crispy and cilantro sauce it came with was to die for. Entree was the Bandejo Paisa, a meat platter. Chorizo sausage was good and the chicharron was fantastic. Only complaint was that the steak was a bit overcooked, but it was still tender. Also got to try a bite of my friend’s crab cake, it was way better than the crab cakes I’m used to eating. The meal was so good I polished off the entire plate.Service was great and the menu has tons of variety. If youre in the area, check it out.
Really great creative menu, good service, and fun and chill atmosphere. And the food tasted amazing.
This place is hard to beat. Every dish Ive had here has been a friggin pleasure to smash. The house made sauce is unreal, the mojitos are money and the service is fast and very friendly. If youre in the area, I highly recommend dropping by Arepazo.
Best Marg I have found in Columbus! Moved here from Texas and always looking for a good authentic marg and this one has passed the test. Go for happy hour and get $5 margs and excellent food!
Neat Tapas restaurant in the Brewery district in Columbus. The restaurant is quite huge with lots of space to eat and spread out. The bar area looked nice and the whole restaurant was very well decorated. The food was excellent. We had the arepitas and chilaquiles. Both were excellent, although both of us had a slight preference for the chilaquiles. The coriander sauce that comes with both had a wonderful zesty taste. The restaurant is slightly on the expensive side, but we would go again.
If you love Latin youll love this place. Good food, good drinks, nice atmosphere. If the weather is nice, be sure to sit outside.
They said steak is ribeye. No its not. Plantains are the same as the frozen one you can buy from stores. Beans are from cans with no flavor but the can flavor. Service was great. Not a authentic place.
If I can give Arepazo Tapas a 10 star I would. Very authentic. Arepazo is probably the most authentic Latin restaurant in the STATE of Ohio. ❣️I added peppermint leaves to my margarita because of the authentic flavor. Comfort food at its finest. Just a little pricey on 1 single chicken taco at Happy Hour. $5.75
Super tasty food and friendly staff. Best margaritas in town. One of my favorite places to eat in Columbus.
Bonus .... Sweet corn cake and cuban sandwich was awesomeSad moment when we realized empanadas are only a lunch thing.Great dinner with a sweet atmosphere. We will be back
Dined in last night and ordered the bandeja paisa which has the grilled steak. I asked for it medium rare and it came out rare with little flavor in addition to being hard to chew and not tender at all. When I brought it to the server’s attention he asked if I wanted it cooked longer, I said I didn’t want the steak because it was hard to cut through and eat. He said he could take it off my plate and give me a discount. I worked on the other items on the plate but at the end was surprised to be given less than a 10% discount on the entre when the steak was the focal point of the meal. That whole experience left me extremely disappointed.
El Arepazo is DELICIOSO! We were lucky to have our wedding rehearsal dinner hosted here and they provided excellent service and even better food for our group. Highly recommend for a casual date night or large event!
Have tried to go the past two weekends. The first time in-person and was told we could only order carry out because they were closing. It was 8:30, restaurant hours were until 9:30. Tried ordering online for carry out the next time. It was 8:15, online ordering was shut off while I was trying to place my order and they don’t take orders over the phone, or answer the phone for that matter. Very disappointing.
Fast and friendly service! We ordered the patacon, bandeja paisa, and two fruit juices and they arrived in less than 15 minutes. The patacon was good, and it should be noted that this patacon is made with sweet ripe plaintain. Traditionally, the patacon is made with green plaintain. However, I didnt mind this because I like both types of patacon. The bandeja paisa was alright but did not taste very authentic. Being Colombian, we know what a bandeja is supposed to taste like. The small arepas had a strong seasoning taste similar to Triguisar seasoning. Authentic arepas are made of white or yellow corn and do not have seasoning. We didnt like the seasoning the arepas had. The two fruit juices we ordered were mango and passion fruit, and they were great.
Excellent food and mojitos! Nice outdoor patio seating available and chill atmosphere. A very pleasurable experience!
If I could give ZERO stars I would! Absolutely terrible service. We waited 15+ minutes for a staff member to come get our drink orders. I ended up getting the wrong protein on my meal, requested the correct protein, and then received a completely different meal. In addition to this, my daughter ordered the carne asada and her food was bathed in oil. She couldn’t even finish the meal, even after getting a replacement side of rice. I had such high expectations for this location, considering my love for the Gahanna location that shut down. Thankfully they covered the incorrect meal and my drinks, but this issue definitely ruined my experience. Never coming back.
Arepazo was highly recommended to my wife and I and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed house margaritas and Venezuelan Tequeños on their happy hour special which was awesome. For our mains, my wife got the shrimp tacos and I had the Peruvian Lomo Saltado. Amazing! They also have an incredible creamy cilantro and lime heavy sauce that accompanies appetizers and main courses. It comes in mild and spicy. Service was excellent, the place is clean and prices are reasonable. We cant wait to go back!
Tastes great! Appealing dishes. The restaurant has a nice intimate ambiance. Great service. Restrooms are clean. Bar had variety of drinks. Seating is spacious.
Our server, Danny, was great and the food was good. I enjoyed that they had spicy options, and the sauces were very flavorful. The tostones were soft and not hard and went well with the meals. The atmosphere was loud and upbeat, so its a good place to bring children if you are worried that they might be loud. We will definitely be returning.
If you have not been here you need to go! Service and food quality were amazing. We were greeted promptly and was paired with an amazing server. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and reccomended great dishes as first time visitors. Appetizer and main dishes came out quickly and drinks were flavorful and strong. Highly recommended!
Great service, great food ! Enjoyed it. Will need a second visit to bump up to 5. :)
Great service and good food. Very accommodating for a couple are a large crowd. I loved the food, drinks and dessert. My brother, who is a big eater, was full! I was surprised, so the portions or the meal he picked will fill you up. Please try them out.
The food was absolutely amazing - would definitely bring me back if Im in the area. Unfortunately, the service was struggling a bit the day I was there so took awhile to put your order in. Service staff was polite however. Maybe just an off night...
One of the best restaurants in Columbus. The food was so rich and comforting, and the milieu is very relaxed but elegant. Our waitress was so kind and conversational and entertaining as well. Truly a wonderful experience.
Eat here!!! Ill start out bay saying that while waiting in line I got to see the staff interacting with guests and it was refreshing. Everyone was having fun and laughing which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. The food here is amazing! Flavorful, fresh, filling and wont break the bank. If you havent ordered the Guava Caipirinha you ARE MISSING out it is absolutely delicious and pack a punch. Their cocktails are all delicious and not overly sweet and the fact that they offer fried plantains and tres leches (3 milkcake is the cherry on top! 10 out of 10 would recommend and visit again soon.
Amazing food!! Really good food and unique menu since it has a mix of various latin inspired plates (cuban, colombian, Venezuelan). Somewhat overpriced in my opinion. However, service was really bad. Our waitress came to the table once and wasnt even friendly. We received our food super fast so that was great, but received drinks after food which was weird. I didnt even want my drink then. The hostess was super nice and even brought the food to the table. Due to the quality of the service, I’m not sure We will be back.
**Second review: Service was much faster this time but our server still seemed overwhelmed and the place was fairly empty. Food quality was still very high and we were satisfied with the quality and quantity.First review: Food was AMAZING but really slow, took about 30 mins for two fried apps and an arepa; however, everything was really, really good so the wait was kind of worth it. Our server was very nice but was slightly overwhelmed so we were left alone for awhile. That being said, we will return. I wish I would have taken pictures but we were ready to eat by the time the food hit the table.
Wonderful atmosphere for date night or family night. Suitable for children with a kids menu. Food is delicious! One of my top five in Columbus overall. Staff makes you feel like family. Friendly, up front and honest. Good for large groups. Great cocktails, and reasonably priced with large portions.
We visited this Arepazo location after a dinner party across the street and couldnt have been happier with the service. The servers and bartenders were wonderful. It was a busy Friday night and they handled it with ease and made sure we had everything we needed. The name is escaping me, but the smoky rimmed margarita was phenomenal (picture included courtesy of Google image search - couldnt find the bar menu on the website but this is THE drink!). The other cocktails we tried were all poured just right. I wouldnt hesitate to go back and try their food, every dish that walked by looked pretty tasty!
Venezuelan restaurant and has diverse Latin American dishes in the menu. Ordered a Salmon Ceviche tapa, pork arepa and 3 milk cake. Ceviche was the best! Has the flavor of what I call a home made one. Arepas and dessert were also great choices. Waiter was helpful and kind. I’ll come back definitely.
Truly a unique restaurant with excellent food. It’ll be hard to go elsewhere when in the area. The atmosphere was awesome and would make for a great outing with friends or family. The staff was knowledgeable and super friendly. The cilantro sauce was so delicious we had to take some home!
Great dinner tonight! Everyone enjoyed their food very much! The cilantro sauce was delicious. My Big Mexican was delicious. The Spanish Potato Fries (seasoned french frieswe perfect.
We were very excited about this place, based on the reviews and food look delicious, until my niece found a long hair stuck on one of the arepas. She had to pull it to get it out. We notified the waiter and the only thing he said was sorry. They didnt offer any discount. We all stopped eating our food after that. We still left him a good tip. Hopefully that tells him something. We wont be going back to this place.
I was in Columbus for a work trip and wanted a taste of home. I stopped here based off the reviews and so glad that i did. I had the Pabellon Criollo and the beef was seasoned perfectly; juicy and full of flavor. If youre looking to explore Central/South American cuisine in the area, stop by because they will not disappoint.
The food and service was wonderful! We were able to take advantage of the happy hour drinks which were great. Pictured is the Patacon which was better than I could ever expect. Fried plantain base with pulled meat of choice lettuce and a variety of other toppings. We are visitors to Columbus and I would absolutely return on my next trip!
Excellent choice for typical South American food apreas are to die for. If you love meat or looking for fresh made vegetarian dishes this is a must try in Columbus. Jorge was awesome as our server
