Casual, easygoing eatery serving Scottish meat & seafood dishes plus wine, beer & cocktails.
Wow! This restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way! It has a beautifully styled interior providing a relaxed and unpretentious dining experience. The food was fantastic, equalled by the service, particularly from the gentleman who was front of house.Would absolutely recommend & cant wait to return when were back in Glasgow, especially as we were too full to try the desserts!Book in advance to avoid disappointment!
Absolutely fantastic! Soon as you come in you are made to feel welcome then the food is top tier! Finished off with a whisky from their great selection. Cant wait to come back with the rest of the family.
The mussels and skink were devine as was the sirloin and the venison. We ordered the haggis as well but it was not my thing. My husband enjoyed it as his first foray into the haggis world. Strongly recommend this restaurant
Second time in this restaurant and it still amazed me from the moment you walk in you can feel the lovely ambiance. Nice music very kind and polite people and great food. A must is the Cullen skink and the haggis with neeps and tatties! Five stars wel earned! Definitely will come here a third time and I think even more!
Stopped in for dinner hoping for a seat. Lucky got a high top, which we prefer anyway. Had some delicious soup, and delicious venison dishes. Venison stew and venison pave.
Very pleasant place to visit for delicious food, serving some tasteful local recipes. The meal was excellent, the drinks very pleasant too and the staff lovely. The selection of whiskeys was very well appreciated!Bathrooms were a bit hard to find. There seems to only be a disabled one, which was of course completely fine.
Good place ! Food is good, staff is nice.Could get 5 stars if they could have advices us better about whiskey.A shame when you are doing tourism and trying to find advice a Scottish restaurant full of beautiful whiskey .
We came to this place for lunch and left extremely satisfied. The interior is tastefully decorated, felt very cozy and warm. We ordered the 3-course market menu and it was a lot for both of us. We had to take some of the food home. Everything was delicious and just the perfect amount of flavor. The market menu offers a great variety of dishes to try:We started with the soup and the goat cheese, then had our main plates: the chicken and the venison stew. Both were great and very filling, and it was so much food we had to take some home.Lastly, we got this amazing toffee bread pudding with a side of ice cream. It was to die for, so good and tasty. Would definitely recommend coming here for lunch. The beer selection is good and the whiskey choices were also plentiful.
A great find in the city, Ardnamurchan is a Scottish restaurant tastefully decorated in an authentic, yet not overstated way. There is plenty of car parking nearby at the Hope Street multi storey. The restaurant is located right across the road from the Theatre Royal in Glasgow - do you could always make a night of it.I had to amend my booking twice, and both times this was done quickly and accurately. We were seated near to the kitchen so we could see the action live.We had a three course lunch for £20 each and it was excellent hearty Scots foods - all the favourites like local scallops, venison stew, Cullen skink or cranachan. There was no attempt to pass out over fancy food, just good honest cooking at a price that was welcome.I’m also pleased to report that the staff on this Saturday afternoon were efficient and friendly. We had four different coffees brought to us without any mistake, and all done to perfection.Allergies and intolerances were effectively dealt with. The chef made a separate special sauce to cater for a minor onion intolerance - a detail that was not missed by this reviewer. At no time were we pressurised to finish up. Nor we we badgered needlessly by staff asking if everything was to our satisfaction. Another nice touch was that we were allowed space to choose our drinks to complement the food we were ordering. The atmosphere was congenial and private. Nice and easy to talk.Recommend this restaurant - absolutely. It’s one of these places that could become a favourite.
Absolutely amazing Scottish food! Friendly and helpful staff, delicious meals, great choice of drinks. For someone who wasn’t familiar with Scottish food - the place and menu was a much needed discovery. I would certainly recommend and would love to visit again when in Glasgow.
Delicious lunch at Ardnamurchan last week. Great value for money and really friendly and helpful staff. My friends steak wasnt cooked as she liked it and they didnt charge us for that. Highly recommended!
We ate at this excellent restaurant last night. The food was amazing. We chose the set menu, £30 for 2 courses and £36 for 3. We both had the Langoustines for our starter which were delicious. I had Venison with mash and roasted beetroot for mains and it was lovely, so tasty. My husband had traditional Turkey with all the trimmings which he raved about especially the gravy. Both of us shared the delicious Sticky toffee pudding. I had a mocktail and a couple of cocktails and both were so nice. The service was very good, lovely staff and the restaurant feels cosy. We liked that we werent rushed, so often these days there is a set turn round on your table but that didnt happen here.
Great showcase of Scottish cuisine. A lot of seafood dishes are on offer, with some other traditional dishes like haggis and venison stew.We took starters (£6-13and mains (£17-28and all of them were excellent.Everything from the mullet skink to the pan fried cod + lobster risotto was spectacular.Service was also top notch, it was noticed immediately that pepper had fallen in one of our parties water glasses. Also water was replaced quickly.
A hidden gem! We stumbled upon this restaurant and could not have had a better experience. Everything was absolutely delicious but in particular the deconstructed haggis, cod risotto, and cranachan left lasting impressions. We can’t wait to revisit in the future. Thanks to the lovely staff and chefs for a memorable meal in Glasgow!
