Surrounded by a pine forest, this innovative hotel in the Arctic Circle is a 3-minute walk from Santa Park, a Christmas theme park, and less than 1 km from the E 75 European route. The chic suites provide free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, as well as minifridges and espresso machines. All offer forest views. The 2-bedroom suites have terraces, kitchenettes, bathrooms with saunas, and living rooms featuring sofabeds and fireplaces.Parking and an area shuttle are complimentary, as is a breakfast buffet served in a snug, contemporary restaurant/bar.
From the moment we arrived to the Arctic Treehouse, every aspect of our stay was pure bliss! The staff are so welcoming, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure everything was done to make our honeymoon truely special. The rooms are perfectly designed so that the northern lights can be viewed from bed - we were lucky enough to experience this in late April. The rooms are impeccably clean and had all the comforts you could possibly need. The breakfast was fresh and the variety was fantastic. We went to Rakas restaurant for dinner most nights, the service was professional, hospitable and warm. The food had great meat and vegetarian option and was absolutely delicious. In a few words, this majestic resort is an experience you will never forget and absolutely the highlight of our honeymoon.
Really cute hotel with amazing views inside and out especially if you’re the first row of cabins with no other cabins in front of you. We were really lucky to get that. The bed was also very comfortable. The staff were really nice. We just came off of an extremely long flight and really just wanted some comfort food and go to bed and we asked for bowls to make ramen and they were extremely responsive. There was also an area for sledding which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast spread was really pretty and had a lot of variety. We were too busy eating to take pictures. There was also a really cute little shop. Would definitely recommend taking a taxi here instead of hotel shuttle as it is much cheaper. A little surprised for such a fancy hotel they didn’t have toothpaste. Also note for travelers who don’t already have WhatsApp, this is their mode of communication after arriving on site. I already have it so it’s not a problem and personally found it super convenient but I can understand how it would be annoying to have to download a whole other app just to talk to hotel staff.
Magical.Honestly amazing! and the cabins are so beautiful, you can’t beat the views you wake up too.Staff also very good.Enjoyed our stay.
So beautiful, so magical, so cosy and amazing. Houses and rooms are amazing! Absolutely loved it! 👌💥🎉
Hairs on my bed and cigarettes not cleared at front. No sauna in standard rooms
Staff unfriendly and waited 25 minutes for breakfast. Understaffed and had to ask for plates, forks etc to be brought out for the breakfast. 450 for a night with no sauna
Lovely rooms. A bit on the small side but complete with coffee and tea and snacks. Temperature is controlled by reception which is annoying. Staff are very inflexible which adds a damper to an otherwise lovely hotel
Really nice stay in a very nice place with very nice people.Every thing was great! I really recommend this hotel,
The hotel is wonderful & all the staff are great and very helpful. we stayed at a GlassHouse for four nights, I have tried many beds in luxuries hotels well known for their comfy beds but NONE of them compete the beds in this hotel, the accommodation is very clean, cosy and equipped with all necessary items, it has a sauna, a fireplace, and a kitchenette & I highly recommend this hotel.
I left a piece of heart here! This place is pure magic!!! The view from the suite is stunning, you cannot imagine nothing better. The hospitality that everyone that works here will give you is over any expectation. And what about the food?! An explosion of art, taste and Finnish culture. The position is also good: 10 min by car to the center of Rovaniemi and a few min for the Santa Claus Village. Highly recommended!
Overall great experience, the nests arent the most spacious for the price but thats probably cool and hip in todays tiny living trend... The restaurant Rakas is probably the best in Rovaniemi and makes up for that...Staff very attentive and smiling all the time.
I had a very nice room the staff was friendly and the raka restaurant had very good food all activities were perfect organized thanks for my first stay in Lappland I will come back soon
This is a nice hotel with so much potential but is really, really let down by poor service. We stayed there over New Year in 2021/2022. Rooms are very small (as other reviewers have pointed outbut nevertheless clean. Views from the rooms are amazing, but dont count on seeing the Aurora Borealis from your room (as the publicity shots imply). Most rooms dont face North and, as others have stated, there is a lot of light pollution in the vicinity of the hotel (its actually very close to the airport). The hotel uses WhatsApp to communicate with guests but it can take hours to get a reply if you contact them about something. They supposedly have an Aurora Borealis alert service that you can sign up to (which means they will send out an alert via WhatsApp if one is visiblebut in reality they dont bother sending out the alerts. Incidentally, I only found out about the alert service because I just happened to be Googling a subscription-based alert service and saw on that website that the hotel was a partner, otherwise I would never have known. The on-site restaurant service was particularly poor. Very long wait times between courses and dishes missing from the menu. Vegetarian options for kids are literally non-existent (not a single item on the kids menu is meat-free). Having the spaghetti bolognaise without any meat gets tiring real quick when its the same menu for lunch and dinner!!! Poor show for a (supposedlytop ranked hotel.
We stayed there for our honeymoon back in November 2021, location was absolutely beautiful and the hotel looked really nice too. We were super excited and expecting a top experience considering the night rates, but unfortunately we had a few issues since day 1. First, whenever we got to our suite after a long day of travelling, we took showers and the bathroom got completely wet since one of the doors didn’t have a rubber that was needed to avoid the water from coming out. We immediately reported this to the front desk, they sent a person from maintenance and the only thing he said he could offer were more towels, since they couldn’t find a new rubber. We mentioned the inconvenience a few more times to the front desk people and got no solution. Thus, after spending over €2,000 for a 5-night stay at a very “luxurious” hotel, we didn’t get the treatment we originally had paid for. Also, considering we’re going through a pandemic, once we arrived to the hotel, the staff told us that the use of masks was enforced at all times; however, this wasn’t true. Every time we went to the Raka’s restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there were lots of people walking through the tables without a mask and taking food from the buffet, again without masks, and without anyone enforcing its use. Overall, I’d say that the hotel is extremely expensive for what it really is and that the hotel staff should try harder to attend guests needs. We definitely expected more!!!
Extremely disappointed honeymoon experience with this “luxury hotel” 2 years ago. Staff members were slow and unfriendly. Check in should be at 4pm but we were left unattended until 5pm and 2 more couples came after us were served and checked in. I was quite upset but the staff members said our room wasn’t ready. Fine, I don’t know how much time do you need to clean up a room when you request guests to check out at 11am. However, a nice welcome drink or a heartfelt greeting would make us feel much better. After nearly 2 hours wait out in the reception area, we finally got into the room, BUT I saw 2 single beds apart, despite I emphasised this was a honeymoon booking. I don’t expect nice flowers or a champagne, but at least put the bed together??? Apparently they don’t really care about customer service, even though they overcharged everything in this hotel as if the price matches the service. The whole experience was just a disaster. The only star is for the architect. Thank you Arctic tree house, for an unforgettable and super unpleasant experience.
I hope no one in your household comes down with COVID when you’re due to stay here because they won’t waive their 100% cancellation fees. Letting people know this as @arctictreehousehotel have refused any refund after being given 6 days notice that my 10 year old son has tested positive and required by law to isolate and obviously NOT TRAVEL. Despicable response to send to their guests. Do not book this hotel unless you dont mind losing thousands should anyone in your family fall ill unexpectedly. Their refund policy is 100% 7 days before arrival. If my son had of fallen ill 1 day earlier we could have cancelled without any penalty. Our disappointment cannot be put into words that our trip of a life time has been cancelled but to be refused any level of service to rebook - the answer is just no, this is the terms, end of - Really does exasperate a terrible situation. Certainly wont be looking to re-book this hotel!
Loved My stay @ Arctic TreeHouse Hotel.Panoramic views from Room windows was very good.
Have you ever think about sleeping in old school television? Now it is possible and very high price. They say it is luxury. Room size is barely as big as student room. View is to parking area and to main road (not much nature, just some trees). Everyone can see inside your room because big window is in same side as walking roads so no privacy if dont want to use curtains. Compare to real class igloos, from this room you can see only one way and only straight forward, so you have to be very lucky that northern lights are in front of your room. Also need to do this by standing front of that only window because in bed view is worst. Hotel is middle of residency area and not in real nature like they say and even airport and santas village is very near. Price? Everything is very expensive: food, drinks and services. Not high quality but prices have this "luxury" extra. Not recommend if you want good iglo experience. Hotel is far away enough from center so need to use taxi (more expenses). Center area have better hotels (and roomsand even nature is closer. Food and service in center better but cheaper. Save money and choose other real hotel.
Due to COVID The government of Finland changed its mind and extended the closed boarders and the hotel refused to refund my Fiancée, due to the rate being none refundable. It’s not the couple of hundreds paid it’s the principle. Seems like the staff graduated from a hospitality barn in Finland with 0 knowledge about customer service. The staff are rude, arrogant the hotel is sham a bunch of people running a dormitory branded as a hotel. They paid allot of bloggers and celebrities to glorify the hotel when in fact its a dump.
A great hotel with a lot of nice people! You always feel confident! The rooms/nests are cosy and warm! The nature around is stunning! We stayed for four days in February and are hoping to come back maybe in 2022! They said they are going to have a Spa - so we have to try that!
Finland was shut down due to COVID and they refused to refund our money. We had several other rentals in the area and they all returned our money but not this "fine" establishment. Will never deal with these people again!
The room’s interior is bright and cozy at the same time. Each room has an iPad installed where you have 24/7 service to either call or WhatsApp and they are extremely friendly and willing to help with anything. However you’re better off requesting for a “tree house” that doesn’t have a car pathway in front of it as I unfortunately had a view throughout my whole stay of the other customer’s parked cars where you could alternatively have a more decent view of a bunch of trees with meters of snow only. The food at the main property’s restaurant was good and flexible with our requests. The hotel arranged a private birthday dinner in the forest with a very friendly and good cook that prepared all meals from scratch. Adding a nice touch of sending an “elf” with a cake to sing happy birthday.
Overall a fantastic stay. The location is ideal as its 5 minutes from the airport and about 8 from the downtown. The breakfast each morning was the best we had in the country and a great start to the day. The rooms are quite small and some locations on the property lack any form of privacy so try to request a room that is higher up. We only ate at the main restaurant once for dinner, as there are some amazing spots in town.
The hotel itself is absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are so well decorated, warm, and inviting. Our cabin was the last in a chain of cabins and it was a quick walk to the service desk. The hotel is family owned from what we heard and the attention to detail really shows! We spent the majority of our honeymoon here and Jenni actually planned and organized everything for us so it was hassle free and relaxing. That being said, there are two issues we had. One, there is no transportation available between this hotel and Santas Village. We spent about 90 euro in taxis back and fourth for four days because a majority of the food options and entertainment is in the village.Second, the rakas restaurant is a headache and a half. Our first night, we tried dinner and were extremely disappointed. We were given paper print outs of menu options that were not detailed so we ended up with a bunch of things literally covered in mayonnaise. Im not kidding. It was weird. We skipped dinner here for the rest of our stay and after breakfast decided to give it a try. We were given real menus but told it was limited to the same weird, mayonnaise covered dishes on the paper print out.All of that taken into consideration, we would still absolutely stay here. Just make better arrangements for trips to Santas village!
Beautiful rooms with breathtaking views. They serve one of the best and most delicious breakfast buffets i’ve ever had at any hotel. The staff are so welcoming and helpful.
Great outlook, cosy room. Nice restaurant and food for breakfast and dinner. Only downside was the position of the light switch in the kids sleeping loft bed as body movements kept turning it on throughout the night.
Amazing place to stay. Perfect to rug up in bed and enjoy the views. Resteraunt on site is beautiful and food is top quality. Service from staff also is best I have had in a long time. Highly recommended this place.
At first we were kind of dubious but this place ended up being great. The rooms are obviously unique, but we made it work with our 4 year old. There is a small loft bed that is perfect for kids. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is excellent. I definitely recommend making a fire up at the top level overlooking the forest. Take the time to look at the lichen and flora and surprising number of pollinators in the summer
Enjoyed our stay there, on a nice day with blue skies its just amazing! Yet, we didnt get the chance to see all white and frozen branches of the trees, just a lot of snow. The design of each tree house, just beautiful and cozy. Floor heating. Though getting to your room is a bit of a trouble in the winter time... Gotta walk for good few minutes sometimes up the hill and drag your luggage along. Though we loved surroundings, and indeed we saw some northern lights there in the middle of the night. Its very cozy and clean. Request connecting rooms if you are with friends cause the little houses are arranged in pairs. Oh, and they had a great deal selling reindeer skins, much cheaper than in other places. I remember if you bought 2 the second one came half price or so.Besides, delicious food at the restaurant and a very pleasant staff. Highly recommended!
Amazing place. Staff were so helpful and kind. Lovely warm atmosphere and could see the Northern Lights from our cabin room. A very well kept hotel with all the amenities you need. Food is great and restaurant/bar has a lovely fire place to warm up your toes after a good day out
This hotel is a fabulous boutique hotel on the Arctic Circle. It has suites with wall-sized windows facing North so you can watch northern lights straight out of the bed! Food in Rakas Restaurant is immaculate!
A really great place to stay in terms of Comfort and coziness. All the rooms have a view of the night sky which gives us the ability to see the lights.I went in the month of November so couldnt see the lights that much , but they were visible from the rooms. I suggest staying here in the month of January and February to ensure you have the whole experience with the Northern Lights. The food was decent , breakfast had a good buffet and the dinner menu was extravagant. The location of the Hotel is Central to all other attractions such as the Santa Claus Village , therefore renting a car and driving is suitable compared to using the Hotels Taxi service.Overall, it was a unique experience and would definitely stay again next time - but in January..
The place is new and well designed but pricy and bugalows have no phones and 40 min of hot water before the boiler needs to recharge. If the price was considerably lower I would reccomend it but I dont feel it isa deal. Clausa to Santa Klaus Park a small Disneyland for tourists I suggest more authentic experiences in Finland
The good: The stuff is extremely niceThe bad : All the rest.Poorly designed resort. One big common area who is functioning as a restaurants and a bar which is cleaned in the morning while you are sitting there. (no where ells to go). No extra service as spa.... ( Is it Findland or not?so basically very boring.Rooms: Very basic, very limited. Horribly small bathroom with rediculously poor shower where the evacuation point is at the middle of the bathroom.....On top of that we had to share one bathrobe....Breakfast. I got better breakfasts in 100 euros hotels than I got in that one. Very very basic. We paid almost 700 Euros a night for the above. Highly over price for a very basic accommodation in a poorly designed resort.Highly un recommended ,try to avoid.
The accomodation is lovely. The bed, the nest and the tree views are truely gorgeous. The service is just okay. They use Whatsapp for normal hotel activities like room service. However they are not great at auctioning things so make sure you do not just get the 2 ticks that they have read it but get an affirmative.
The most magical Christmas Holiday! Our kids loved it and we had a wonderful time. The houses are excellent, lots of amenities and friendly staff, perfect for families or couples, with lots to do and see!
Beautiful place and lovely area . There is extremely cold , but I love the feel so warm and very different experience . I love the room with huge window . You can laid down on the bed and enjoy the beautiful nature with warm temperatures at the room .The sunset time is 1:45pm , the light is starting to turn on . The smell is so good with cinnamon feeling Christmas time .
Well, first off they didnt pick us up from the airport like the transfer we requested twice no less. We let it slide as it is only down the road from the airport funny enough (you can hear planes during the day actually as Im writing this I hear oneso we took a short cab trip.Second, perhaps my pronunciation of English is different to the staff. However they did not know what a Scotch and dry was, nor do they have a list of spirits. I ended up having a Scotch with ginger beer to avoid the 4th attempt. I would have probably bought more drinks but Im still very much unsure of what they house.Third, the rooms contain a gloriosly large viewing window in front of the bed. This would be fine if it was a mirror or one way however at night with a light on every person passing by will see whatever you are doing. That is if you care about that, yes there are curtains but you kind of lose the only reason you are out there.Fourth, the staff seem too green. There is no leadership that I can see and as far as making sure you are charged what you order??? I ordered a bottle of Champaign, told them the room, again reiterated the room and they said it was all good. Which seems loose, as later after dinner I had to sign the meal to the room so as of yet I have no idea whether or not Im going to be charged for the bottle.Fifth, staff continued. First asked if we could get chips, they said we could and an hour and a bit later nothing came. At breakfast asked for a coffee and hot chocolate, coffee came, had to go back and ask for another hot chocolate. I feel like it was a communication problem, which is fine, speak up and tell me you dont understand. Id rather that than get continually annoyed by little things that make me ultimately come here and complain, which I dont like doing. Finally, the people are nice enough, the food was amazing, the nests were cozy. But is it worth the price? No. Staff need more leadership and this place would be incredibly dull in summer, winter looks amazing.
The perfect getaway for couples. The room (We stayed in the standard roomwas new. Small but cosy. The view from floor-to-ceiling window look every bit like the promo photos. We had dinner at the Rakas Restaurant - food was decent. The ambience was great
Very cozy!! Warm rooms! Cool Sauna! Beautiful views! Sweet Staff! Great food 😍However, although the rooms are furnished beautifully, I wish the interior was a little more practical! I struggled unpacking as there is hardly any shelf space!!Beautiful experience overall! You will enjoy your time over here! Additionally, its located very close to Santas Village!
Beautiful place if you are in for a calm stay. This surely depends on timing as it could get hectic over Christmas due to its proximity to the Santa Village. Breakfast is good & service always with a smile. Rooms are cosy, beds comfortable. Bathroom on the spacious side. Views priceless.
well i took one burger for 16,5€ and it was very dry and hard to eat there was also some „fries” that werejust some raw potato sticks you can decide by the picture. for 11€ you can get 5x times bigger salad.
Amazing place among the trees with a great view! Every " room" looks like a little cubicle with an amazingly large window from where you can see the snow on the trees in the landscape in front of you. The rooms are very nice and innovative. People in the hotel are very nice. The food is real art. The chef is originally a dessert chef so these things are pieces of art! This review looks to good too be true but I really have nothing bad to say about this place!!!
The rooms are snuggly and cute, but you definitely cant see the northern lights from them or really from anywhere at the hotel especially with the lights kept on all night. Our room was extremely overpriced for what it was, but we thought being able to cozy up farther away from the city and watch the lights (as their website advertiseswould be worth it.. in reality you are very close to the city and the Santa Park, and there is no panoramic view from the treehouses at all. We were going on a northern lights tour anyway so that wouldnt have been the end of the world. But in the morning when we were trying to get ready before being picked up for a different tour, we discovered our hot water wasnt working. After waiting 25 minutes for maintenance to come, fiddle around with it, and then be told the boiler wasnt working for our room, their solution was to have us walk down the hill in bathrobes and snow boots to a different tree house in order to shower and then walk back up while wet in the Arctic winter. This whole ordeal took so long that we missed the included breakfast and had to rush to make our tour. When we checked out they didnt even offer us a discount, and after we complained they said they could only offer 50 euros off the price of 700 something. Incredibly disappointing customer service.
Rooms are beaufiful and can sleep 3 comfortably.Staff are also friendly and very helpful if u need recommendations or help with tours.Restaurant Rakas was also a convenient gem with its clean and fresh flavors.Kudos to Alphonso, Ella, Pila and Saala!
Great place! Wonderful staff and very helpful. Lodging is very nice and lobby/restaurant is nice. Close to the airport (15 min away or lessa few walking paths nearby and two places for a campfire and a lookout tower. Should have a rental car while there or be ready to bike a lot. They do have bikes to use.
The room is very special with a nice view. Although there are a few negative feedbacks about Arctic TreeHouse Hotel online, I think they did improve a lot. Once you arrived, a welcome drink was serving. Checkin service is very nice and gentle. Breakfast is nice with many options. Kitchen facilities are great and you can cook by yourself.Room is not as clean as what we expected. We found many hairs and litter, maybe from the previous guests, in the shower room and the room. The shower room can’t keep the floor dry as what looks like, be ware the floor is wet and full of water after you done the shower. Hot water can last less than 30 mins, although they said the hot water tank can provid hot water for 40 mins. Once you consumed all hot water, you have to wait at least 2 hours to boil. To sum up, we still enjoy our stay.
Nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Great location for Santas Park. Unfortunately not any options to buy amenities and the restaurant is poor. They cannot cope during busy periods, waiting over 70mins for a meal. Not to mention the most limited menu and very poor options, especially if youre staying for 3-4 nights. In addition they were not able to accommodate any requests and each meal came with a hefty price tag, with kids meals at around 12euros and all adult main meals from 20-35 each. I wouldnt mind the price tag if the food had been of great quality and exceptional delivery but they didnt season and service on the whole was a little poor. The hotel staff on the other hand were very helpful and resourceful, helping to source a sledge on several occasions. The rooms are comfortable and warm and cosy, only sldrae back was there was too much light to see The northern lights if the sky was clear, and the look out tower is quite steep to climb. Overall tip: take some snacks with you and be prepared
We had a wonderful experience at this amazing hotel! Beautifully designed, luxurious equipment, incredible polite staff. Breathtaking scenery from the rooms. Pretty and indulging atmosphere. Thanks!
A relatively new hotel built of cabins in the middle of a forrest. The view is amazing, the service is great. There are 2 fire pits to watch the Northern Lights, and all cabins have a glass wall facing north. The hotel doesnt have a spa, but orders in massage services at your request and offers discount to a local spa.
