Arcobaleno Italian Restaurant - Italian restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Great place for Italian meal
An excellent place, quietly situated close to the Ping River, with super friendly staff and delicious food at reasonable cost. Interesting menu too. Well worth a visit!
Im Italian and this is not real Italian food, its more French style cooking which has nothing to do with real Italian. We dont put a ton of cream on the pasta..French do.
Probably one of the worst meals we’ve had in a 30 days in Thailand. The pasta is most likely not homemade, despite claims on their menu, but wasn’t awful. But hands down one of the worst pizza’s I’ve ever eaten, and it was almost 500 baht. The crust was a buttery pre-made dough that was squished into a pan, the toppings were equally appalling. The pizza also came out after we had finished our pasta dish, which is unconventional. Definitely not authentic Italian, but I also have Italian heritage so have higher standards. Our server was friendly.
A little on the pricey side, but good quality food, service and atmosphere. A pleasant surprise as I didnt plan to eat Italian today!
We come very often to this restaurant and it is one of the best Italian places in town. Definitely a place to recommend!! Get a tiramisu!
Not to our looking as food ordered was rather bland. Starting from mushroom truffle soup tasted like can soup with slices of mushroom, pizza wasnt from normal dough, should be soft and crunchy not crunchy allover, pasta salmon cream sauce was good, black ink pasta was on a sweet side. Caesar salad was bland as well, lack acidity. Service was attentive and informative. We got bread basket with pizza bread in it prior to our order, I knew immediately that pizza wouldnt come out right. This review was based solely on our experience not targeting anyone in particular to tarnish their reputation.
A disaster from the beginning to the end.All the dishes was a joke, pizza, pasta, meat, bread. Why Thai people open one Italian restaurant? If you find someone working in this restaurant, put one foot in Italy or even try in their life one italian dish, l will pay back your meal. Not enough to serve horrible food, we also wait 1 hour before get any food.Foreigner escape from this restaurant.
The great Italian restaurant in Chiang Mai. Delicious food and good vibes 🎄🍾🎼 The service is really great. Don’t miss this!
The legacy of first Italine cuisine in Chieng Mai. Authentic Italian cuisine that worth to come.Food are delicious. Desserts are exceptional. Service and staffs are great with warm welcome. This is one of the best Italian restaurant in Thailand for sure.Parking lot available.Make reservations in advance to secure table.Recommend!
Came here for my husbands birthday to celebrate. They asked if we had a reservation which none of my research indicated that was necessary. They still seated us, but seemed thrown off a bit by our attendance. The staff was kind and the food was delicious. Our first waiter was an older gentleman who was a bit more curt than we expected, but he was honest. The other staff members were super sweet and kind. I would come back again for a good Italian dish in the middle of Asia.
Great pasta, except waiting time. From my opinion, pizza and pasta are a MUST-TRY, every table order pizza! ((They close pizza order when I ordered😅))I order cheese plate(No gorgonzola, why?), Caesar salad and two pasta (Fettucine salmon cream and spaghetti al nero di seppia(squid in squid ink sauce). Its take 40 minutes for 2 pasta dishes😅((Its crowded, I understand))Its worth the wait? For fettucine salmon cream, the homemade fettucine is well-cooked. For spaghetti al nero, PERFECT for me. Delicious. Im a little bit upset for waiting time, but this pasta dish cooling me down. Good Job!If you want to have a cozy italian restaurant to dinner with friends and family, I would recommend this place.
Great Italian food with so little cost in a very old house
We have recently arrived in Chiang Mai and staying near to this restaurant. The service has been outstanding. Under difficult situation due to Covid, they are serving expansive menu. The dishes we had were excellent although caprese salad not traditional. Still very much enjoyed our dinner here.
Went for a special night and not dissapointed. Very tasty food with fresh ingredients. Good service and a lovely evening all round.
I love the feel of a place that hasnt tried to update their look. It is obviously an old restaurant with an interesting history. The food, the service and the ambience suit me just fine. Give it a try.
Delicious food. Takes some time after ordering, especially if you come with a group. And food comes out very staggered. But the atmosphere is nice and they supply bread and herb butter once you have ordered. Tasty. Will come again.
They had a nice variety of food that I, as an American, Ive never eaten before. If you like ink squid oh, this is the place to go. The young man who had it really enjoyed it.
Our whole family had been their customers since the owner was her father since we all were small. Their restaurant was located near chiangmai university and now located where it is. Since then till now their pizza and food had always been the best option on every occasion in our family. God luck.
This is an extraordinary Italian restaurant; the food is delicious, the service is very professional, the owner is super friendly and know to make the customers happy. The recommended choices are Spaghetti with clams and Crab au gratin.Arcobaleno will be one of my favourite Italian restaurant at all times.
Service was excellent - 6 stars. Food was so la la 3 stars but was shocking is the charge for ice to cool our wine (one bottle own, one bottle bought from the restaurantfirst time in my 48 years in Thailand was I charged for ice. Admittedly a small amount of Bht30.00 - but its the principle. Good lesson how to upset a possible return client. My spaghetti did not have much taste, so I ordered some Parmesan - a tiny spoonful arrived. I did ask for more and found a charge of Bht.40.- for extra cheese on my bill. Given this mean attitude of the owner, we shall not return.
At first I went there it looks mysterious place for me a lot of falling leaves on the ground and old hose but there is the name of the restaurant1.)food was delicious2.)reasonable price3.big dish for me4.waiters were nice5.looks cleanI love it I will go thereagain , tasty
Great food. Service is fast and friendly. Very clean and quite. During this hard time in human history, I just wanted a place to enjoy good food at a fair price. I found it here. If you love real Italian food, I would recommend this restaurant. Salad and sausage plates are excellent. The two main courses were hot and freshly made. I will be back when I want a good Italy style meal.
Staff here are really friendly and nice. We went to this restaurant many times, one staff remembered foods that we ordered every time we came to the restaurant. This makes us so happy. They take a really good care of us! The foods are also scrumptious! I love this restaurant! They deserve Michelin stars!
Standard italian food with really good service. Love the homey decoration. Price is not too high. There is a lot of parking space
One of my favorite go to places for Italian food which I have been going to for the past 20 years. Nothing fancy, just great food, awesome service and a fantastic menu that caters for everybodys needs and wishes. Family run and passionately maintained.
An excellent Italian restaurant in Chiang Mai. Every menu is delicious. Highly recommend for people who love Italian food. There are plenty of table in the restaurant. The price is a little higher than average but it is worth it. You can park in the restaurant parking area.
The atmosphere is pretty good. I noticed some reserved tables. The portion of food is average. I paid 220 Baht for lasagna. They have a variety of hot teas. I drank ice tea. They do not sweeten anything. You will have to drink tea unsweetened. They give you free water and refills of it. Two different types of bread came with my meal and real butter.
I had high expectations about this place based on their reviews but was kind of dissapointed with the food. We ordered a pasta with mentaiko and a pizza. Both were average. The portions were tiny and the pizza tastes more like a biscuit with sauce on. The staff were very nice though, but I would look elsewhere for authentic Italian food in CM.
Authentic Italian food, nicely presented. And the portions are certainly not small. Very friendly welcoming staff who know their job so the serving, even for a large group, is efficient & together. Excellent situation with a large car park.
Amazing food! Pizza is crispy, and tiramisu is excellent. The waiter is also really nice. They accept reservation. Will definitely come back should I find myself in Chiang Mai again.
Another classic European restaurant in ChiangMai. Everything here is made and cooked fresh even the fettuccine pasta and it tasted great. 🙂
Really nice atmosphere. High quality food with great presentation. The green lasagna is a creamy taste of heaven on earth! Highly recommend this place for a romantic evening or a classy group gathering.
Good place for a simple Italian dining. Small and cozy decor with good hospitality. Menu was quite comprehensive ranging from tasty appetizers to pasta, to pizzas, to grills. Pasta and pizza were tasty but pizza was slightly small. The grills could be improved alittle. Had the Manila Clam special which was so so.Good parking and accept card.
This is maybe the best Italian food in the city. The Lasagna is outstanding and the noodles are all homemade. That makes a huge difference. One piece of free bread per person and free water as well. I saw people bringing their own wine which I’m a bit confused about. It BYOW is permissible, then I’ll definitely be doing that in the future. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. my wife and I both had delicious food, in decent portions, and got out of there for around $13 US.
Varieties of Italian food and staff are very nice.
Thw Best Homemade Italian Food in this city
Delicious food and good service. Large variety of Italian dishes served in an unhurried atmosphere. The artichoke appetizer was delicious. Ceaser salad dressing good. Well cooked pastas. For family groups you may want to make a reservation. This place seems to fill up.
The food are amazing!!!! I’ve been literally taken to heaven. We had salad, cold cuts, ravioli and risotto. All tastes divine. The portion is generous and not expensive. The place is simple yet comfortable and relax. Somehow their house wine is not a thrill for me. If I go next time I might carry my own bottle. I strongly recommend to dine at the place!
Delightful Italian food and friendly atmosphere, cozy place
Ordered the calamari fritters for appetizer.. 200 baht (+taxfor what seemed like a joke, very small portion. Asked the manager if that was not a mistake he said that was the right size. Unsatisfactory experience, wont be coming back.
Always great food, and great service. My wife and I have been coming here for years and the food has been consistently good. The pricing is fair, and on some items I think is remarkably cheap. Comfortable surroundings and never too busy, so you generally get served promptly. The staff are lovely, and they genuinely seem to care that you are enjoying your meal or not. If you leave anything as you are full up, they will ensure that everything was to your liking.Highly recommended.
Great food - I tasted all the 7 dishes on our table and they were all great. Service was also fantastic with diligent free water refills and staff close at hand when needed (one of the advantages of a small restaurant).Price is higher than thai food but below average for western with most mains around the 250 baht range.Theres plenty of parking space which is great for those with cards.
Amazing! I had the home-made fettuccine with basil pesto, which was delicious. For dessert I had the honey and ginger ice cream, which is also home made and tasted great. Prices are excellent for high quality food.
Definitely the best and authentic Italian restaurant in Chiangmai. The price is reasonable. Maybe I should join in the customer loyalty programme if they got. 55555
A very memorable meal . Especially in Thailand! First off the service is perfect! I have never received such attentive service in Thailand. The Cesar salad was perfect and very memorable. The corn cream soup not as good and the chicken Marcela was good not great, but the Tarimasu was perfecto !The wine by the glass was nice and only 110 Bhat all in all a wonderful meal I’ll be back !
Always a nice place for italian style food. This place serves decent dishes made from always-fresh ingredients! As this little house is always full during lunch and dinner, reservation is recommended.
Good Italian food. Delicious spaghetti. Spacious parking.
Plenty of parking, easy to find with Google Maps. Attentive staff and excellent food. I had the mixed salad and the house dressing was outstanding along with a vegetarian pizza. Pizza crust was perfect but the pizza was a bit on the small side. Prices were in line with other restaurants of a similar nature here in Chiang Mai.
This place is very good in all aspects except the food is not quite up to scratch. A very good and honest attempt at replicating Italian food, but unfortunately the gentleman who started the business passed away some years back & is now in the hand of his wife & kids. Again, they try very hard to replicate what was once outstanding, & just have not managed to pull it off. If your looking for a nice place to have a meal & not expecting to have your socks blown off, this place is nice.
