3-4 Archer St, Soho, London W1D 7AP, Lima
Sophisticated cocktail lounge & low-lit, seasonal pop-up bar with sofas & arched booths.
Really rude door staff, stopped us going in. I booked a table of 4 as a birthday surprise for my partner. When we arrived the doorman looked us up and down and said ‘you can’t come in you’re wearing trainers’. I thought he must be joking except for his sneering expression. When we asked why he just said ‘you should have read the joining instructions in the email, no trainers no ripped jeans’. Totally different to the friendly welcome we got at the Clapham branch. We were shocked as we were all dressed up well and ready for a good night out. The definition of ‘smart casual’ seems very arbitrary and in the hands of a rude unfriendly doorman who has put us off ever going back to Archers Soho. The joining instructions say no sports wear btw not no trainers.
90% staff are rude and while I was dancing someone steal my drink (2x). Not a chill place hang out, and seems very cocky place. People I had with me couldnt have a good time because of lack of security ( it feels security are only there to protect tables and singersand aggressive people. Going somewhere else next time!
Get new bouncers that arent on power trips.Ended up being kicked out and isolated from my group late at night for no good reason.
Very cool and fun place to be at!We rocked up at the bar at around 10 PM on Saturday night and didnt have much trouble to get in as a group (seven people), although we faced some slight issues with the dress code as its rather smart casual (no shorts for men for example - however I was luckily let in with my shorts on thanks to the summer heatwave, otherwise I would not be allowed to enter). The entry fee was £10 which was not too bad, the cloakroom was free of charge. Its a really fun place for a night out, and has such a cool vibe. It was crowded and loud, so it was difficult to move around or hear your own words, but very entertaining. It is a semi-karaoke bar where waitresses and waitresses are singing (some of them really good singersand occasionally dancing on the tables, quite a show to watch! The drinks are expensive, as expected in this neighborhood, but really well prepared! Kudos to the skills of bartenders which are by the way very nicely dressed! A bit posh place, but I had a lot of fun here, so the price tag of the night didnt matter!Paid by card. Visited in July 2022.
Had an absolutely iconic night two weeks ago with some friends from home. Special thanks to Cathy for looking after us so well - legend! Will be going back very soon
Went with a friend of mine last night and had a great time! Loved the music and drinks. We didn’t have a reservation but didn’t have to wait long to get in. The staff were all super friendly and talented! Will definitely be going back
Loved my experience in Archer Street- Cathy the hostess was very helpful and welcoming! Cant wait for my next visit
Great ambiance, great drinks, great staff, great music!
Love archer street, always such a fun night out and the staff are always amazing! Special mention to Cathy who took care of us brilliantly last time we were in, already looking forward to going back!
My sister and I visited London recently and stumbled upon this place, had no booking but the host at the door sorted us out straight away. She was so welcoming, loved this place will definitely be back!
Had such an amazing night and can’t wait to come back. And a thank you to Cathy for being so accommodating!
Excellent staff and really fun bar! The hostess Cathy was so lovely
The front of door staff are super nice, and the singers are insane! West end on a night out!
Archer Street!! Always a favourite. Made it here every single trip to London. The live music, the talented bartenders the sexy interiors really complete the experience. Be ready to dance.
Amazing bar. So much fun xx
Music selection is fab! However, only 3 stars because of the drinks. I ordered the same cocktail (lychee & grapefruit3 times during the night. Each time I was served a completely different drink (different glass, different taste, different look, different - or no - garnish). Drinks are expensive (with a service charge! Even when ordering at the bar!). If you charge that amount for a cocktail, at least have staff that know the menu and know how to make the cocktails.
We had a brilliant night at Archer Street Soho and really looking forward to going back again soon! Special shout-out to Cathy at front of house who was fab and really pleasant to deal with.
Fantastic few hours here a couple of weeks ago. Arrived around 6, left around 9 when it was definitely getting livelier easier you would expect on a Friday night. The bar was lovely, very stylish, the drinks were delicious and arrived quickly and with a smile. The live singing was incredible, so much talent these guys have, absolutely phenomenal, and definitely didn’t really want to leave! What a great fun and stylish bar in Soho. We will be back
Was in archer street a few weeks ago... Honestly the nicest bar I’ve been to in London in a long time. The atmosphere was fab, drinks were great and the whole experience was just amazing. A special shoutout to the staff who made our night special, especially the front of house girl Cathy (I think?who was just simply fab. She was so welcoming and fun and made our night so buzzy from the get go. Thanks Archer street, will defo be back!!
The most amazing bar in soho... the lady at the front door was unbelievable... I would highly recommend this bar!!!
This is my first review on a business.Visiting London with friends and I can’t believe that this racism is still tolerated in England .
Scary place !!! security are very very scary I do not recommend women go to this place alone or I’m small groups
The vibe here is very much ‘businessmen looking for mistresses’ so take from that what you will, but it is so much fun every time!! The bartenders are all amazing performers too!
Been here pre pandemic and now post pandemic and goad to know that this place is still rocking. Its a good idea to book in advance for a Saturday night as it ends up packed and you may not get in. Great singers/waiters to get the crowd in the mood. Great crowd and great atmosphere.
Not lovely.Really disrespectful door/booking staff… such a shame people think it’s ok to speak to other people in this way. Especially when there are such talented musicians there - ruins the experience:
Overbooked, no space inside, only 2 barista (overworkedat the bar for 300 people inside, takes 45 minute to get a drink, hot, air conditioning not working properly. This place needs to step up.
Four stars for the talented singers. 0 stars for the bartenders who add 13% service and then present you with a machine without a bill. Dishonest
The most expensive bar in London, it seems, with a g&t coming in at £19, and a modest bottle of beer at nearly £7. Music so unbelievably loud that even at 7.30pm - long before full partying is in full swing - you cannot hear anyone, even when they’re talking into your ear. Won’t be back.
Believe all of the bad reviews about the doorstaff and manager.. horrible horrible people. There are hundreds of great places in London this is not one . STAY AWAY....
The bouncer refused my gf because she was by herself. Not very empowering for women. The women behind tried to include but he said no she cant come in because shes by herself...?
Wandered in and ordered a glass of wine before dinner. Took it to a seat outside and was minding my own business until I was then (5 minutes laterapproached rudely by an intimidating bouncer and Informed that “for future reference” they don’t normally admit single males. Dreadful crooning woman wailing some beige ballad inside. Avoid like the plague.
Fun place to go for a night out - love the singing waiters/waitresses (some very talented people working there!and the only-semi policed table dancing. Obviously its a soho bar so if you turn up at 10pm on a saturday you are going to be facing a queue to get in, a slightly aggressive vetting of your compliance with the dress code, a £20 entry fee and an absolutely horrifying bar bill but thats pretty standard for the locale...
Probably one of the coolest spots I’ve attended! I went around Christmas and the spirt was truly in the air!I wish I had taken more photos than videos, but their staff/cast really make your night!Sad that when I went back in feb on my second trip to london it was reso only so please make a reso!!!!
Had a great time at the Archer Street. Very nice atmosphere, people, music. Spencer and the team made our evening amazing. Thank you!
Spent a Friday evening in Archer Street and had a great time, the atmosphere was top notch and Spencer looked after us all night. Music was great and all the staff are super talented. Gets busy so recommend booking in advance. Make sure to try some of Spencer’s cocktails 👌🏼
Came with some friends a few weeks ago and had the best time! Hats off to Spencer who was making us the most unbelievable cocktails and gave us great customer service! Will come again :)
Theres a reason that Archer Street Soho is always busy and thats because its brilliant and once youre in, you dont want to leave!! Archer Street is great for date night, drinks with friends, parties... whatever the occasion you should be there! If like a bar with an atmosphere thats buzzing, beautiful drinks and music straight from the West End then Archer Street is a no brainer, if youre not there already, youre missing out! From the second you enter, to the minute you leave, youre smiling from ear to ear. Highly recommended - brilliant!
Even though we had a confirmation of our booking we were still denied entry. The pathetic door man Jordan couldn’t come up with a reason other than that they were busy and he didn’t have us on the list!! At the same time he was letting everyone else in! Then he tried to accuse us of being drunk. His own colleagues and people in the queue didn’t agree with him! Jordan had decided that he didn’t like the look of us and so there was no way we were going to be allowed entry! The staff were rude and clearly very racist! It has left me shocked that this is still happening in London! Since yesterday I have read so many reviews about this place where people are being turned away because of their colour…….I am absolutely disgusted and shocked by this place and by it’s staff!!!
Attempted to come here a few months a go on the off chance, was told it’s guest list only and they were fully booked which was fair enough but then attempted to come here on Saturday and called up the week before to be put on the guest list, and was told there isn’t a guest list and it’s walk ins only. So I turned up with a friend, smartly dressed at 8.30 and was told it’s guest list only and they are fully booked, but looking in it was pretty empty. I tried to explain to the gentleman at the front door that I had called up etc but was quite rude to me and didn’t want to hear any of it.
One of the finest bars/lounges in the West End. Because it is slightly hidden in its Archer Street location it doesn’t get the recognition it would have than say if it was located in somewhere like Wardour or Frith Street. This place has something very special about it. Bar staff break out and perform mini ad hoc cabaret performances. They are all talented. The music brings a sense of nostalgia. Virtually all customers get up a dance and soak up the atmosphere. There is a high standard of customer service, one staff member even remembered my favourite drink from my previous visit! It is also good they offer a free cloakroom.
Fabulous night at Archers. Great music. Fantastic singers. Atmosphere was awesome. Service top notch. Everyone in good spirits. Will return for sure100% thanks so much
My friend and I wanted to get a post-dinner cocktail here on Tuesday evening. Although the venue was almost entry we were denied entry by the bouncer saying we didnt adhere to the dress code. My friend had cycled there and was wearing a fluorescent cycling jacket. Despite offering to take the cycling jacket off, entry was still refused. Poor experience, didnt feel welcome or valued despite being regular customers. Will not come back.
Extremely fun night out but you get allocated a very small space for the number of people in a party. The staff can also be very rude, I assume because its a popular venue and they feel that they dont need your custom.
My favorite club in London. Friendly smile staff and delicious drinks. The cozy atmosphere combined with the singing talent of the staff really creates the perfect atmosphere for relaxing and dancing the night away. Strongly recommend but please don’t go so there is space for me!!
Thank you Archer Street team for this amazing evening! Ive missed the energy and spirit of this place during the lockdown and Im so happy that we can know sing and dance again! To another fantastic 10 years! Happy anniversary
My friend was celebrating her birthday. We were downstairs and got the opportunity to listen to the professor singer. Good atmosphere but... extremely expensive. At the end we were paying each £105 just for drinks. They were nice though but it would not recommend this place if you have a tight budget. The bathroom were also tiny and honestly for what you pay they should definitely be cleaner.
We went for a 30th birthday which was a complete disappointment, we will not be coming again or recommending Archer Street to anyone. The entertaining staff were a complete let down. In the three hours we were there they sang 2 quick songs. I could have better entertainment walking down Oxford Street. We had to wait for an hour in the rain for our reserved table, which we squeezed into. The staff were rude and did nothing to make it a special night, despite us asking just for a shout-out.The drinks are hugely overpriced and not worth it.The whole experience was terrible. I would not waste your money here.
Such an amazing bar - beautifully decorated with a really lush interior. It’s one of the rare bars in London that is perfect for all occasions - after work drinks with colleagues, a first date, a date night with your spouse, birthdays, anything! What’s really lovely is you can tell the staff genuinely enjoy working there - which they must as they all jump on the tables and sing (don’t worry, they’re show stoppingly excellent!). Oh, and their cocktails are fab. One of my favourite bars in London, I highly recommend.
Nice place but there are quite a few rules you have to follow for partys, and everything is quite expensive. We still had a great night and the food and music was amazing.
I have loved coming here for years. A great little place with a small cocktail list - but always very fun, and you can always ask for something else which theyre generally happy to make.I look forward to next year!
