Archaeological Museum of Vravrona - Archaeological museum in Néa Mákri, Greece
Mega 🤩
Wonderful place to visit.
The accompanying museum to the archaeological site, with finds from it and the area. Displayed well in English and is worth visiting both. They do have a lift for disabled access and I recall it being level.
Very educational
The place is very well looked after. Both the archaeological site and the museum. There are ramps and paths for ppl with mobility issues and that is great. If there is one criticism is the fact that in the archaeological site the signs for the blind are in the direct sunlight making them too hot to be used.
Expanse, light, and a multitude of priceless treasures, fed to the visitors eyes in a blanket of comfort, despite the two+ hours of walking through the 2-level exhibition.
Small and interesting indoor and outdoor museums, beautiful location and views , very close to Artemis town and the Athens airport.
Beautiful place, historic, spiritual, calming, that fills your soul with a direct link to our ancestors. And without the craziness of the Parthenon! Warning, its a small place, so its difficult for influencers and insta people to take good pictures. And that only adds to the charm.
Its a lovely spot with very helpful staff.Love the inclusivity for blind visitors with braile and touch exhibits (good for kids and not so little kids too). Very well done. Educational and very informative.
A quiet museum and temple dedicated to the Goddess Artemis. The only downside was being stalked by the museum curators as you walked through the rooms.
Nice stop if you are in the neighborhood
One of the best museums in Attica. The babies and the altar is a must see. Artemis the goddess of nature , children and healing and death.
Fun place to visit, with an interesting exposition
A little bit basic museum with strange rules. The worker there told that its not allowed to take photo of yourself with exhibits (even if you are standing away from it or sitting on a couch in the middle of the hall), you can only photograph exibits itself.
The place is great. The museum has many items in excellent condition and the surrounding area is in very good condition.
Excellent museum fantastic potery and statues in excellent condition a must see as well with the archaeological site of Artemis temple. Its worth visiting and travelling there. The area around the museum is a natural reserve protected, beautiful area.
Not big enough, but Okay
Nice little archaeological site at a beautiful location. The scientific marbles are great, and you can walk around them. In the museum youll find many ancient artefacts in great condition. The museum building is larger than you would expect, which is a nice bonus.
Beginning from the inner section of the museum with all the findings and ending up in the open space of the ancient temple is like a time travel. Always nice to see our ancestors achievements.
Vavrona is not an easy place to reach. But its worth the trip. This fantastic site is very carefully tended and you shall be amazed by the huge museum where an incredible number of art treasures have been newly displayed with great sense of didactic. But there is something highly missing : a cafeteria !!!
Very well organized museum. Not big, but definitely worth seeing.
Excellent museum and site, lots of items unique to this temple.
Great museums with a lot of unique pieces
Take care the place close at 15h30
A must see. Amazing demonstration of the old Greek culture artistry and civilization. An hidden jem easily overlooked
A hidden gem. Fabulous temple complex which is in a beautiful setting. Do not miss the museum since the artifacts found on the site and stored there are sumptuous. Be warned that Google Maps assumes there is a road to the site which does not exist. When you about 1 km out slow down and look for a brown sign which indicates you should turn left. Google Maps will tell you to go straight which is wrong.
A very nice display of ancient artifacts. I was particularly struck by a wheeled toy from 600BC, and some of the jewellery. Attached to the museum and included in the admission ticket are the ruins of a Temple of Artemis. A very nice spot with a spring.
Great place to see
One of the most important museums of Greece! You have to visit the museum and the nearby archaeological site
Nice place out of the crowd...
Beautiful hidden gem
As always a must see with the site. Very helpful staff and beautiful statues on display
Very impressed, as it not on the most famous museums. The site although small in size really beautiful.A must, if you are close by.
Recommending visiting there
a hidden archaeological site which includes the temple of Artemis, the tomb of Ifigeneia and a lot more, for which i suggest you to visit the site unconditionally...
Very interesting, and insightful
A must place to visit for those interested in the Greek civilization
A must see especially for kids!!! Totally unexpected! In todays terms there was an ancient Finishing School for youngsters there! Look at those adorable children statues! Not to be missed and so near the airport!
A small but beautiful site with a very interesting museum
Great museum out of Athens and full of historical artifacts. Was very surprised and pleased by the quality of the exhibits.
You mustnt miss it !!!! Need better support from EOT!!! GREAT MUSEUM TOO!! 😎😎😎
Nice myseum and site
Been there three times already. Very well thought/designed museum with a unique historical surrounding which is worth a pleasant stroll
Regrettably, the museum was closed today due to Orthodox Easter holidays. I knew it (and will return later this year to write more); anyway, the museum was not the main target of my trip. I wished to see the surrounding wetland reserve, which is not marked on the Maps (to my surpriseand the ancient ruins of the Temple of Artemis. The wetland is exciting, full of life, just the educational path was partly under-water and I did not have proper shoes to walk it, going bare-foot did not seem to be a good idea. The birds escaped in no time, just the tiny tortoise stayed; actually, I moved it aside worried it would get run over by the cars driving the unpaved road. I enjoyed walking and watching the sea, the rich wetland vegetation, and after two attempts found the temple ruins (yes, they are accessible through the museum entrance but driving by, I focused on the narrow road and sharp curve missing it twice). Next to the temple ruins, you can see a small house made of stones said to be the hermitage of St. Timotheus. Very close, you can enjoy wonderful beaches, watching or swimming, as you like.
Incredible scenery! and very rare bird species
Incredible archeological place, the museum has a vast collection of artifacts.
Small museum but new. The temple of Artemis is very near.
Interesting museum with good comments. Neat archaeological site. Reasonable price of 6 EUR for entrance.
Lovely small museum, nicely set out with a lot of background information.
A very nice small museum with findings ftom the area and the adjusted temple. Resently renoveited exibition. Nice clasical statues of the children. Did not visit the temple as the area was flooded. Worth a visit
