On a side street in a residential area, this lively hostel with Greek mythology themes is 2 km from Poblado subway station, and 3 km from both the Medellin Museum of Modern Art and the Aburrá Valley.Simple dorms with wooden bunk beds offer free Wi-Fi, lockers and shared bathrooms (some en suite); 1 has a balcony. Colorful private rooms have shared or en suite facilities.Hot breakfast is complimentary. Other amenities include a shared kitchen, and a lounge with a flat-screen TV and a DVD player. There's also a terrace, plus a 24/7 bar, regular BBQs and social events.
that was absolutely not what you would expect when you go to a hostel in the center of Medellin. The atmposphere reminds you more on a schooltrip hostel than on backpacker place. Just go else where not here.
Personnel vraiment sympathique et très arrangeant. Le lieu est calme et bien situé proche des bars. Les chambres sont un peu petites mais il y a des rangements pour les affaires. Eau chaude
I had a very good experience, very friendly staff, breakfast is included, a good way to start the day with fruit and pancakes... the rooms are very comfortable and there is hot water. There are free salsa classes every friday at 8pm!! And they do activities in special days!
If I could leave 0 stars I truly would. My stuff got stolen in the night, card and money taken. The next day someone’s locker got KICKED in.I asked to speak to the owner and he said he couldn’t be bothered. He was speaking to the receptionist and I asked to speak to him and he said he didn’t want to. I got so much money taken, I find it so rude he wouldn’t speak to me when I tried to report it.By far the worst hostel I’ve stayed at in all of Columbia. The room smelt weird and the “breakfast” was not very nice - the coffee is just left and reheated every day. The only breakfast we haven’t bothered to wake up for since traveling. However, a slight smell and a unappetising pancake aren’t the end of the world but the owners horrible attitude is what truly makes this place a foul experience to stay. The other girls in our hostel left early because they felt unsafe and I bumped into some other people who had stayed here and also had a terrible experience.Repeated reports of the owners foul attitude.DO NOT STAY HERE unless you like mouldy coffee, bad smells, rude owners and having your stuff stolen.
The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Carlos, the employee, was always nice to us, very helpful. The hostel is 5 minutes walk from the main road, good breakfast with eggs, pancakes, fruit and coffee. Simple but clean rooms. Recommended.
Volveria
Absolutely terrible experience, from the get go they managed to mess up our rooms, we had booked for 5 people to stay 3 nights and managed to split us up charging us different prices, the rooms were hot and stuffy and the Greek owner who also worked as the receptionist was incredibly rude. We asked if we could stay one more night as it was Easter and everywhere else was booked. He double booked our beds and then proceeded to offer us the communal sofa to sleep on for £5 per night, after he double booked our beds. Overall a terrible experience, if I could give minus stars I would. Whole place smelt of smoke and was generally dirty. DO NOT COME HERE.
I stayed in this hostel for a week. Having lost all my docs, they help me with alternative payment and helped me wit different tasks I needed, Very very helpful and thankful I found them <3The Greek owner is really nice and staff is super friendly and speak several languages. The hostel is very nice with a great atmosphere. I will definitely return.
Not the best hostel in this area but that’s reflected in the price. The Spanish guy at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The Turkish guy - not so much lol. Bathrooms are kinda grime and the overall place is kinda dingy. Only stayed here because everything else was booked for last minute reservations
Place is clean, comfortable bed, curtains on shared dorms, and the fastest internet of all the hostels in el poblado. Affordable prices and the host is very charming juman being.
Very good hostel, very nice and attentive staff. The rooms are clean and in the biggest dorm we stayed called Olympus has balcony as well which is nice. Good breakfast and the common room is very warm. I recommend it to have great time in Medellin.
The best price, the best theme, great customer service, will definitely go back
Very good hostel
Nice play to stay in the city
Perfevt
Hostel reeks of cigarette smoke. Day and night. They leave the door open and people smoke right on the terrace. Goes with the territory I suppose. Definitely not a quiet place. Only thing going for the place is its atmosphere where where you talk to alot of people, all of which are smokers.
The staff was really friendly and hospitable. They have drinks at the bar and its really cheap. The hostel is a little small. We stayed in a private room for 2 people and for what we paid it was a really good price. The only complaint for me was that they only had 1 bathroom and shower for the whole place, so you had to wait your turn a bit. Overall it was a really good experience. It is walking distance to Lleres Park so its nice to be close to a lot of restaurants and bars.
Nice Place good hostal
This is very nice hostal, friendly people, excellent service, breakfast included, economic rooms and beds, diferente activities to do like BBQ on Sundays.
Nice neighborhood, lots of public place to hangout, good breakfast. The dorm room was small.
The most basic accommodations. In my opinion, not the most inviting place. Easy to find and in a really food location, but their are other accommodations near by.
I stayed one month un Arcadia hostel, and it is definitely the most amazing place where i went. The staff is so cool, there are lot of évents and a magic ambient. You should go there if you dont want to miss something. Thanks for all 👌
Great environment, friendliest staff. On a quiet street but 2 blocks from the action.
Party/Chill hostel perfect to meet peoples and go party with !Nice staff, nice bed, good Wi-fi, good breakfast.Nice hostel.
This is the perfect "party / chill" hostel. Im a solo backpacker and I met a lot of friends, some of whom I am now traveling onwards with. The outdoor patio is spacious and lined with plants... A beautiful spot to socialize. Staff was great and made sure the hostel was quiet after midnight. Finally, location was ideal. 5 minutes walk from Poblados nightlife. 20 min walk to the metro was the only potential downside. Thank you Dayana / Christian / volunteers for everything!
Very cool spot, great to meet all walks of life…in order for a hostel to hit 5 stars in my book is very hard…but youll be happy if you ended up there!
Great hostel, staff is so helpful, the vibe are good and easy to meet good friends. The only this is that it full of smoking smell! Even in the room, it was everywhere and really bad.
Rooms were fair price. Try to get a bottom bunk if youre tall as I hit my head on the ceiling once. Laundry service is bit slow on turnaround but otherwise everything is great.
One of the best hostel that I have stayed! Excellent location, very helpful and kind staff, happy and nice atmosphere! We also had salsa classes for FREE! Comfortable matresses, clean bathrooms and nice common areas! Dont forget to try the brownies!! Totally reccomended!! Thank you guys for everything!
Very nice
Great hostel, fantastic BBQ on Sunday.
cook your own as much as you like pancakes was pretty dope! decent social areas. hot shower. private room was iiight!
really nice hostel but the wifi was extremely slow unfortunately
Nice people, good hostal.I stayed for a full week (dec 2017and can highly recommend the hostel.Friendly staff, clean, nice place..
Great hostel, fantastic staff, perfect location. Had an amazing time there
Nice place. Funny breakfast ideas
Booked in advance via Hostelworld, arrived at 7am after an exhausting night bus ride just to hear that there had been a "system hour" so no reservation for me. But one could pay me back the Hostelworld deposit. Because the city was full during the public holiday, we decided to stay at a double for a higher price after the staff hadnt given us a discount (by the way the staff only barely spoke Spanish). Returning after a long day at 10 pm to our double room there was a staff member taking drugs at our rooms floor. After that, another friendly staff member gave us a small discount of 9000 COP. Good, quiet location in safe walking distance to Parque Lleras, a little bit far away from the metro station.
Fine budget hostel with helpful staff but not the safest and a 10 minute walk to El Poblado and a 25 minute walk to the metro.
Best staff in Medellín!
I really enjoyed our stay at hostel arcadia. The prices were reasonable, drinks as well. Very social hostel with a lot of things going on. Staff friendly and helpful with nearby activities. On the negative side it was sometimes hard to sleep because of noisy partypeople.
Nice and openminded people. clean rooms and good athmosphere, 24h reception. Near to calle 10 at poblado.
Super friendly staff, reasonable prices and lots of people. If you want to party definitely check this hostel out!
I stayed there for a week. The staff was super kind and helpful. There is a BBQ every Sunday and you can eat as much as you can for COP 20000.- , it was quite delicious. Every bed has its own socket incl. a shelf. High pressure & hot water makes showering very comfortable. I recommend this hostel for people whod like a sociable environment.
Awful filthy, small kitchen, bedroom that connects open common area at all and little security, no drug control, receptionists consumed with guests, the owner is a Greek tyrant who does not respect anyone and their workers, volunteers are the best thing in this hostel, dirty rooms, minors working in the hostel. THE WORST THING many bugs beds.
noisy, not really clean and AWFUL mattress
Amazing hostel. Very homely and welcoming. Ive never been around such good staff which were helpful to the end with an issue with booking an urgent flight where the owner came to the rescue.Well thought out hostel with 3 different wifi points so internet runs smoothThey have everything youd want from a hostel and for the value you will be very pleasedRecommended!
Great hostel! The owner is helpful and the staff is kind. Theres a kitchen, the WiFi works very well and they have big lockers and outlets next to every bed.You can also get beers and other beverages at the front desk. The hostel is a little bit outside the touristic area which can be good in some waysUnfortunately the kitchen is very small so very fast it gets crowded during cooking hours and also the fridge doesnt have enough space for a half full hostel.
Had a great time here and would highly recommend it. One of the best hostels Ive stayed in. Spyros, the owner, is really cool and you can tell hes put the effort in here. Stayed in a dorm room and there were two plug sockets for each bed, with a shelf and reading light, and made of really good material so that no ones beds made any noise when getting in or out. Nice location, very close to El Poblado main high street but its by a river and a load of trees so very relaxing location. Really nice social area with outdoor patio and indoor room with television (and a guitar to use). Definitely worth staying for the weekend to see Medellin and also Spyros Greek BBQ!
