Arà: è Sicilia - Fast food restaurant in Florence, Italy
Great aranchini with ragu! The rice was tasty and the ragu was so tasty!
Delicious and very reasonably priced coffee!
Wonderful place for ice cream, granite or sacks. The place round the corner from all top places.
Great cannoli and rice ballsAlso they have local wine and soda to buy
The best cannoli I’ve had. They have a location in the center market
It was great. It’s not too sweet 😊
Fresh ingredients but too much olive oil for my taste.
Delicious food!! We came for the arancini and were not disappointed, but we were even more impressed by the cannoli, which were filled right in front of us, and were absolutely amazing.
Good tasty cannolli but a bit expensive in my opinion
Great mini bistro to grab arancini or cannoli or other Sicilian delicacies. Wine by the glass is decent quality too. I always come back when in Florence. For me the highlight is sepia arancini if it is available. Cannoli are some of the best I have had. Seating is limited ad arriving in less popular hours might be advisable.
Literally the best ice cream we had (I recommend chocolate and hazelnutand the price is not excessive at all.
The Food is great, perfect for small snacks with drinks.
Best cannoli I have ever tried anywhere! The filling was amazing and we had to go back another day just to eat one more. The arancini is also one of the best I have ever eaten. We tried the ham and the eggplant one, and as a vegetarian who does not like eggplant, mine was so so good!! I have already recommended this place to so many friendsThe only down side is that it is a small place, so arrive early if you want a table or you can order to go like many Italians do
My grandmas arancini was not this good.
This is the gold standard for the arancini. Anytime I order one somewhere else, I automatically mentally compare it to this one. One year later Ara still holds the championship belt.
Such a wonderful experience. The food is GREAT and for fair price. I would obviously recommand this place <3The staff is also lovely.
The cannolis were so good that we had two servings. After that experience, I went to try different cannolis and proved my point. This was the best cannolis I had try in Italy. Thank you!!!
I see a lot of people recommended this place for canoli, so I went there….The service is good, but canoli..NO. That is not the taste of canoli. 2 min away there is a place where the serve the real canoli.
Really good cannoli! We went here for what our research said was authentic cannoli after having disappointing cannoli elsewhere. I think the lady who served / prepared the cannoli (they fill shells on the spot with fresh filling and dip in chopped pistachiosthought we were lost or something because she seemed slightly perplexed by our presence as tourists, but she was polite and helpful.
We tried out the other location at the Mercato Centrale so we thought wed come visit an actual storefront. The cannolis were good!
We came here because Italians had suggested this place specifically. Cannoli was super tasty, the best I’ve had so far. Totally recommend to check it.
The canollo was excellent. As it should be it is filled with the cream when the order is placed.I also had an almond granita, and during a hot day nothing beat the refreshing feeling (except maybe gelato 😜)
We stopped by the stall Ará has in the central food market, so I wanted to mention it here since i couldnt find the other place on google maps. The cannoli we had there was the best one I had during my italian holiday, so they are obviously good at doing pastry. Im guessing the savory options are also very good.
Best hole in the wall in the whole of downtown Florence. Original sicilan nibbles. Make sure to try the Arancino, Cannolo and the Gelato.Too yummy to waste your time taking Fotos. 😋
Some of the tastiest granita I’ve had. The flavors are very authentic and the ice is magically soft.
Best arancini balls in all of Florence by far!! I am studying abroad for the semester and go to FUA which specializes in foods and every professor we have tells us to go to Ara. BEST SICILIAN FOOD!!!
We stumbled upon this gem wandering around Florence, and the granita and gelato so out-of-this-world that we squeezed a lunch visit in our last day in town to check out more entries. This second time we ordered arancini in addition to the granita and they were excellent as well. Well definitely come back in our next trip to Florence. Our favorite flavor of granita here gelso (mulberry), which was über-fruity, with delectable little chunks of fruits mixed well with ice, redolent of the subtle fragrance if the actual mulberry. The flavor still brings a smile to my face days later. The Sepia(squidarancini was also excellent, flavorful and not so heavy (as far as fried rice balls go), which I dare say is quite up to the Sicilian standard! The two girls there were extremely friendly and helpful during the busy lunch rush in our last visit. If you want a piece of Sicilian street up in the north, or simple some lip-smackingly good treats in a hot summer day, you cant beat this in Florence!
We had a tasty tasty lunch here. Our waitress Camilla could not have been more attentive and adorable. We love Sicily and visited there in 2014. So we had two of our favorite Sicilian wines for lunch. Benanti and Giralamo Russo’s wines. What a great start! The orange salad was delightful and the pasta delicious. We are on a quest for the best octopus 🐙 of all of our travels and this came in a close second. And we have tried A LOT! The atmosphere is beautiful and you could tell the locals love it as well. It was fantastic! We highly recommend.
For when you want Sicilian street food in Firenze.OK, that may sound a little weird, but the key is that you can actually get good versions thereof here. The gelato is good (not outstanding, but good), and, apparently, the granita is great - "apparently" cos its a summer-only thing.Anyhow, if youre in the mood for arancini, etc. - go
If u look for the best cannoli in Florence, look no further. Fresh, crispy, delicious 💓
Excellent place for a Cannoli....fresh and not too sweet just like it should be. Now I what they should actually taste like. Small place with a few stools to sit on. But looks good and service is great. Also can take away and eat at a nearby square. The dice balls are pretty good too.Best Cannoli we have had
Everything was absolutely delicious, we had pistachio and stracciatella ice cream and the cannoli.
The cannoli was sooo delicious. And because the filling was kept in the fridge it was so much better chilled!
If you want to try a real Italian cannolo - not american kind with chocolates and whipped cream and setera, this is the place. Just delicious and good quick spot for a bite. They also have some savory options. Coffee could be improved a bit though.
best cannoli I’ve ever had. However only had it a few times. Tiramisu isn’t too bad here either.
They have the best canolli in Florence but also the worst service. That’s why the shop is empty compared to other packed gelato places in Florence. If the shop owner were a bit more customer driven this place would be a rockstar.5 stars to the Canolli1 star to the service
Dropped by to try their gelato as it came highly recommended by a local store owner. We ordered the pistachio and almond gelato. This is probably the most balanced gelato we have had in Italy - neither were too sweet - you could taste the slight bitterness of the almond and the subtle saltiness of the pistachio. And the gelato seems to be cheaper than most of its touristy rivals. Easily one of the best gelato in Firenze!
Worst f*cking cannoli I have ever had. We arrived at 9:45 and the waitress said I can order but it has to be to-go because shes closing up (15 mins early), I told her it was fine, she filled up the cannoli with cream only.. I thought there would at least be pistachios or something added to it. She probably was trying to get rid of us as quickly as possible. Rude and disappointing experience. Never again
Came due to our host recommendations and we really enjoyed the cannolo & arancino specially our daughter loved it. The staff was very kind and informative. It’s a petite snack place, good for quick bite & go, if big groups its a bit cramped.
It is a good day when I can satisfy a cannoli craving. If you and your fellow travelers find yourself stuck in a line for a museum, you can always pass the time by getting some Sicilian treats to share.I stepped inside and I was trying to decide between a cannoli or some gelato. Then I saw the Jesus head on the counter and I took that as a sign of encouragement to get both.I got a cannoli with pistachio and a small cup of mandarino & pistachio gelato. With sweets in hand, I took them back to the line to share these with Mr. Joy. The cannoli had a very crunchy, thick shell with thick ricotta cream filling that oozes out with every bite. The cream had a nice almond flavor. The pistachio and mandarin orange flavors didnt go so well together, but those were the flavors that I wanted the most. A nice citrus orange for a refreshing flavor and pistachio, just because pistachio is nice. The gelato was pretty good, but the cannoli was better, albeit a little too sweet.
My girlfriend and I stayed in Florence for 4 days and came to Arà 3 times! Whether you want cassate, arancini, or cannoli, this place has you covered. I have to recommend the cannoli–we couldnt believe how delicious they were. It was the first cannolo I tried which had a hint of graham cracker flavor in the shell! Buonissimo, da provare.
Had a really nice cannoli and a prosciutto arancini... Really good. Might come back tomorrow 😋😋
Definitely the best cannoli we had in Italy! Try the traditional one - creamy ricotta whipped with sugar (+/- nuts on the end). Amazingly tasty, they are freshly made on order. Great value at €3 each.
We were looking to try some authentic cannoli and found this place to have good reviews online, and we agree. The cannoli were filled fresh in front of us with ricotta filling, it was really tasty and not too sickly. Also as a bonus tried the prosciutto arancini which was just amazing. Went back for more arancini later in the day but had run out of prosciutto so tried the spinach and Norma arancini which were both also tasty. Maybe go earlier if you want choice of all flavours but all we had were lovely.
Searching for the best cannoli in Italy. This one was good but not great
This is one of a few local places worth revisiting time and again; Sicilian specialties are served. The "Granite" (in a variety of flavorsare a must during a hot day, I recommend the mandarino. Also the Aranci (rice ballsare a Sicilian specialty and are very delicious.
I had the gelato with 3 flavours, one of which was pistachio. That cost €0.50 extra since it is a special flavour (from what I understand). It is worth it, however, as it was creamy and fragrant.I was not too impressed by the stracciatella which had tiny bits of orange peel in it, resulting in a bitter aftertaste, and destroyed the smooth texture of the gelato. It cost €4.50 in total, which is okay but more expensive than another gelato shop a street down (My sugar). The shop also offered other pastries and small bites which I did not try but smelled amazing.
Cannoli was great!! I don’t eat enough cannoli to compare but this one is rather big with fluffy light creamy filling. Don’t forget to try their riccota gelato!! So creamy and fragrant!
Delicious canoli filled with ricotta cheese.. really good... also good and tasty cakes... good coffee...
This place was a perfect quick stop for a snack. The pistachio arancine was like nothing Ive ever had, so delicious. The lady behind the counter was really sweet too. Wish I couldve tried one of everything!
