Relaxed, stone-clad outpost serving traditional Thai & Cambodian plates & lunch specials.
Dinner was delicious and the service was friendly and prompt.
Ordered take out. Disappointed with the portion size and quality.
We recently moved to Kingston from Ottawa. We have been looking for some good Thai or Cambodian food. We tried 3 places that were not to our liking. Today we stopped in at Apsara Angkor for lunch and it was excellent food. So happy to had found such a great place. Service was excellent, great atmosphere. We will be back for sure.
Worst service ever - waited 20 mins after we were seated to be asked if we wanted anything to drink. However food was delicious.
I’ve never been disappointed eating here for four years or so. The food is so delicious, not greasy, and fresh. My marker for Thai is green curry, I find it oily at most places in town with the flavour off and the components separating, but it is perfect here.
Pad Thai was very authentic, the crazy looking chef was very authentic, the music was very authentic, service was too good to be authentic. Nice place.
Such a great experience. With the thought that we need to try something new we were both very happy with our choices. Ordered a couple chicken dishes. Very tasty. The waitress was super sweet with us newbies and she was extra attentive to the neighboring young guests to ensure their parents had a lovely dinner too. Well done.
We ordered chicken and beef pad thai,(I started eating mine prior to photo😂calamari and vegetable spring rolls. All 4 items where one of the best tasting meals we have ever had! Highly recommended.
Had lunch. Not impressed at all. Food tasted stale and watery.
We had dinner tonight. Service was terrible. No one bothered to offer water, cutleries for first 20 mins till I asked. Later we had to go inside to place our order. Food was okay. When clearing the cheque no one came to table. I walked inside to clear the bill and then I noticed they charged me for two veg spring roll while we had only ordered one. When I informed we never ordered or got any second veggie spring roll (mind you just 4.99$the guy insisted he served us the second dish. I had to explain we were served by a lady waitress and she got us one portion of the veg spring roll. Again the guy insisted he served us. I felt humiliated and asked him to show me on our table which dish/plate could be second portion. He later mumbled something and took off the money. In short, zero hospitality, rude behaviour, charging us for something we didnt eat and no apology. Great going! I wont eat there again. Wont recommend at all.
Food is great, but the service we got was terrible. You are guaranteed to be satisfied with the food. I do not know about great service. Our waitress, white older woman, was awful. She forgot to put our orders through and ignored our table. I had to flag someone else to ask why it was taking so long. She then came over after we were almost done eating and lied to us to say that our order got lost, Seriously? How about an apology and accountability?
Had some Thai chicken mmmmmmmm so good like definitely worth trying. I’d say this is the best Thai I’ve had in Kingston! Also the Thai beef bbq is also quite good
Food tasted great! Portions are a good size too. Lots of veggie options.
My mom and my husband loved what they had- a basil noodle chicken and sweet and sour chicken. We took the lunch special. The soup and spring roll was great. My dad had the ginger chicken- it was ok. The beef pad siew that I had was not good. Very oily and not flavourful. I took a mouthful of my husband basil chicken noodle to get rid of the oily taste. I would say 3.5- too bad for the really bad pad siew.
I have eaten here about a dozen times. I recommend the meat spring rolls and the hot and sour soup. All the pad Thai dishes are outstanding as well as the glass noodles. To be honest I have never had anyone not be an instant fan.Family run and amazing service. Be careful when you get your dish- it is so fresh that I’ve burnt my mouth on more than one occasion! Great for couples, families or a group of friends. Enjoy!
I really like the flavors and spices here. Thai Iced tea, pineapple fried rice, red curry, lemongrass chicken are my favourites.
I normally go to Phnom Penh. I went here with a coworker from Empire Life for lunch and it was amazing. I highly recommend it. Great food, good service and a good atmosphere.
If youre looking for the best chicken pad thai in Kingston, look no further, Apsara Angkor has it! Ive been obsessed with it ever since I tried it.The fresh rolls are an excellent appetizer if youre looking to order one.The service is ok and at times a bit slow, but I will definitely keep coming back and recommending this place to everyone.
Wonderful and exceptional customer service (the nice lady with the purple hair doo)Great serving portions. Value for money...good tasting lunch menu.Recommended when visiting Kingston
The best pad thai in town. Period.
It was horrible. I ordered the fried fish mango salad. The fish was extremely salty and after one bite, i told the lady owner who replied: "That is how it is, and that is why it comes with mango salad. Even if you dont eat it, i will have to charge you". No apologies, no other option offered. Very bad way to do business (after covid)
Really nice restaurant, great food and picturesque location. Reasonably priced as well, we ordered a variety of different dishes from the menu and it was all delicious. The restaurant was also clean and well kept.
Great food and nice ambiance. Had the lunch special, soup, spring roll and main meal. Very reasonable.
So glad we found this spot during our weekend trip to Kingston. We were staying at a hotel on the waterfront so not only was this a convenient spot for lunch but we were blown away by how delicious everything was!My partner & I are vegetarian. We ordered two portions of the veggie spring rolls, V-5 Lemongrass Veggie stir fried (spicy and so flavorful - yum!), V-6 Vegetarian Basil Spicy Noodle (not as spicy but a nice slightly sweet flavor with yummy veggies). We got 2 singha to go with our meal!Great food and not too hard on the wallet, either! Portions are good size. Highly recommend & we will definitely be going back next time we’re in Kingston!!
Delicious Thai Basil Eggplant. Well prepared, efficient service and friendly staff. I love this restaurant and look forward to dining under the awning when patio weather returns. Great restaurant!
Great food and great customer service!
Nice tasty restaurant! Service was fast and friendly. Food was very flavourful. Had the Lemon grass chicken and street noodle lunch special.
This is Thai food done beautifully! Relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff who make every visit something truly special. I love the big awning over the patio where I can relax and people watch while enjoying the best Thai basil veggies in Kingston. This is truly my favourite Thai restaurant in the region. Delicious food and always a great experience!
All the food tested great and was well seasoned. The lunch specials are extremely good value. Highly recommend if you like Thai food!
I ate at this restaurant this week. I cant complain about the food....it was delicious, but the service was terrible and ruined the entire experience. Perhaps it was a one off, but I am hopeful the owners read this and take into account what I am saying. We had a bit of a wait to get our drinks, (and frankly did not get everything we had asked for), but once they were delivered we asked if we could order our food. I assume the server did not hear us as she just walked away and took the orders of two other tables that had come in after us!? Even if she didnt hear us, isnt it normal to ask if youre ready to order? We ended up sitting there waiting to order forever and then waiting for the food for another hour on top of that. To put it into perspective, a table that had come in at the same time as us was finishing their meal and paying their bill before we even received our food. We had to ask for the bill, we had to ask for condiments, the server never checked on us to see how we were doing etc. etc. The service was truly terrible. I am not one to make a fuss, especially when it is an independent business, but this was honestly awful and did not make us feel in the least like valued customers. Perhaps you need to hire additional servers or have your servers go through some kind of training as the food really is great, but what happened above was not cool at all.
Highly recommend this restaurant!! The dish is so fresh there mango salad is the best!! Amazing serving for a great price! My family is amaze with this restaurant and we definitely come back. Great job apsara Angkor!
Went out as a group of two couples and shared one of the meals for 4....everything was delicious and we didnt even to manage finish eating everything because we were all full. It was my first time eating there but I will definitely come back! It was reasonably priced as well. Friendly staff.
We ordered Amok fish, chicken pad Thai, and mango sticky rice. They were all delicious. I have to admit that the recipe was more Thai based rather than Cambodian. As others have mentioned, the portion is more than average and perfect for sharing.
My husband and I really enjoyed our meals here. The service was friendly and prompt and the food made us decide to return— red curry chicken and spicy lemongrass chicken fried rice. Both with enough spice to add—not detract—from the flavour, and more than enough food to make us feel full and then some!
Wow food so much good fresh 👍 5 Star ⭐🌟Highly recommendService is the bestThe restaurant supper clean Safe at covid 19
Awesome meal! Big Portion sizes, great prices and fast service. I had the Pad Thai. Could have used a bit more chicken but still very good.
Food is so good 👍👍👍 DeliciousHighly recommend100% i want give you five Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was our second time to this restaurant. We stopped with our family a few years back on our way to skiing and we loved it so much we couldn’t wait to go back. We were not disappointed with our second visit. Service is prompt and friendly, and the food is delicious just as we remembered. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the portions you get. There are a lot of really nice dining options in Kingston, and this is definitely one of the top choices.

This restaurant caters very well to the vegans/vegetarians! They can veganise most things on the menu which is amazing. I got the Beef Radnar, but asked if it could be vegan and they subbed tofu for beef and left out the egg. My partner got the veganised Street Noodle. We also split a side of rice to soak up all the yummy sauces. Great service and the food comes out fast and fresh. The atmosphere is cozy with the window booths and dim lighting. Can’t wait to come here in the summer and sit on the patio!
The food is just brilliant. Pineapple fried rice and fried wontons are now a family favorite. Highly recommended.
We visited this place for a quick lunch and were very happy with the visit. They had a patio which was fully packed, so we were seated inside. The tables were a lil crowded but I guess being on one of the busy streets its a trade off. The food was absolutely delicious we enjoyed the soups and the mixed fried rice.Note - the restaurant has stairs at the entrance and exit for interior seating which is not very accessible.
Came here twice with my boyfriend. Definitely a hidden gem. So delicious. Would definitely recommend.
/Apsara Angkor Cuisine Restaurant/Verdict: I f#^]+£g loved it !Okay, so this was a random pick because me and my girlfriend wanted to try somewhere different; ended up going here and were blown away at the immense rich flavours packed into every aspect of the freakishly affordable lunch special that was more than worth the value.+Cozy and inviting interior+ Crunchy and hot spring rolls that really develop your anticipation for the rest to come+ Generous portion sizes+ Relatively wide arrange of dishes if you order off the lunch special choices
Great food and service! Really like the soup and spring roll here!
Friendly staff, healthy portions and great prices. I recommend the lunch special.
Decent Thai food. Located a few steps away from Market Sq./City Hall and the waterfront so its ideal for a quick bite.
Great restaurant. Plenty of vegetarian options. Their spice level is great and their lunch menu is great value. I was able to substitute the soup for an extra spring roll. Service was exceptional. Waitress mentioned that the spring roll was not vegan due to egg wash used to wrap the spring roll. Cant wait to feast there again!
Not getting into Diannes Fish Shack (wait too longwas the best thing that happened to us this weekend, because it meant that we went next door to Apsara Angkor. My husband and I love trying new restaurants this place did not disappoint. What we ate:Our appetizer was the Satay Chicken, these were tender and tasted great dipped in the peanut sauce. We like to share dishes, so we ordered the Dinner for two which incluced: Hot & Sour soup (not pictured, but very good), Chicken Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken and rice. Everything tasted great, we were so impressed with the quality and the value for what we paid. The restaurant:We were lucky enough to be there on a nice day, so we sat outside, the tables were clean and the view was lovely. The service:We had a very nice lady that seated us, took our order and presented the dishes. She was attentive without hovering.I would highly recommend you check out Apsara Angkor the next time youre in Kingston.
Very disappointed with my dining experience here. The service was terrible. It took 10 minutes to get water, 20 for tea. the table beside me ordered long after and received their food first. Once the restaurant staff decided to apologize the appetizer arrived ( 30 minutes). The main was not particularly tasty and the sauce thick with corn starch. Couldnt finish this meal it was so bad. Had to ask for water refill and the bill. Once I got up to pay, the server forgot who I was and decided to walk around to visually remember where I was rather than simply ask. I will not be back.
