Applebee's Grill + Bar in Gadsden

I ordered a hamburger with a whiskey sauce and it was delicious. But the star of the meal was there French onion soup. Bravo!p

Ordered steak tough..full of gristle not cooked way was ordered an had already been sent back by the waitress. To be reckoned. Service was great

If I could give them a 0 star review on curbside orders I would. Inside, everything is lovely, but when you order curbside everything is wrong. The last three times Ive ordered curbside it has been wrong. They have done a good job to fix it, except for this last time I called over the phone to confirm my order and still messed it up. The girl tried to tell me my order wasnt wrong. You need different to go staff. Dont understand how you get the order wrong when its on the screen in front of you, and I called to confirm everything on it.

never ever cared for their menu options—since back in the hometown (that is— Gadsden, County Etowah, AlaI am ready for the "OG" they are building after demolishing the perfectly fine Logans—have worked at them both in Countys of St. Clair + Jefferson in Ala & ,Pima County in Arizonamadness 👍

If Jeff is not the manager, he ought to be. If Jeff is the manager, then great choice! He was friendly, service was great and he allowed our search and rescue dog on the patio and brought him his own bowl of water. We will be back! Thanks for a great lunch!

Waitress was great for them being understaffed main problem was how long the food took and the fact that it was so low quality for us to sit there an hour for food. I waited and explained the situation to the manager. He spoke to me in the most disrespectful and disgusting and most unprofessional manner EVER I wasn’t rude and I wasn’t asking for a handout I just wanted to let it be known to him we will NEVER go back!

Ordered a well done steak and got a raw steak and couldnt eat it !!!! Im done with Applebees

I had the 8 Oz. Sirloin with garlic butter, smashed potatoes and green beans. That was the best steak I have had in a while at a restaurant, very tender, cooked just the way I like. We had an amazing waitress, she was patient with us because we were having a conversation instead of looking at the menu. It was a girls lunch and we had not talk in a few weeks. Honestly it was delicious and I will get the same thing next time.

The waitress was super nice and very attentive. The food was mediocre at best and the bathrooms were messy and in need of cleaning around the toilets.

Very good food with very good service. I had to ask for tea refill, but other than that it was a good experience.

Me and my wife had an amazing dinner meal here about an hour and half ago with the most amazing service our waitress was incredible if you read this Ms.Hannah thank you for an outstanding dining experience 10/10 will be back

I gave it three stars because the waitress was so nice, but the food was not. My onion soup was not good. Waitress said they changed the recipe, the broth was thicker and I had about 5 slices of onion in my soup, bread was not hard and it was warm not hot. Steak was ok, steamed broccoli was overcooked, smashed potatoes were ok. They forgot the shrimp on my sons chicken and shrimp parmesan. Plus they ran my waitress all over the restaurant. She served people in three different sections. It will be a long time before I go back to the Gadsden Applebees.

Ordered dinner from here through a delivery service. Wife & I ordered steaks (Parmesan Shrimp Sirloin & Bourbon St Steak). Both were delicious & cooked just right. Sides were flavorful and cooked well. The onion rings were still crispy upon delivery. So good that we had to call the manager to let her know how good everything was tonight.

Went for lunch. Great service and food. Good value. Felt fancy! 😂

My wife and I went to see the new Jurassic World movie to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary.So we decided to go out to eat afterwards, but being nearly 10:30 there were not too many options. Gadsden, you know. Waffle House or Huddle House are open 24/7, and Applebees is open until 12:00 a.m.So we decided to go to Applebees, thinking that it was a little nicer than the Waffle or Huddle.Hmmm.When we were seated, we noticed the people at the table next to us is staring at the ceiling. A HUGE cockroach is crawling along the wall. We asked to be moved -- not much effort to remove the intruder by the wait staff -- and no sooner than we moved did the bug fly down, across the table where we had been seated, and landed on the window blinds next to the table that had been watching it. They screamed, jumped up, and swiftly left the premises. The wait staff looked for it but could not find it.We ordered our food, thinking this was an anomaly. Yet as we ate, ANOTHER one began crawling across the banister in front of our table. We informed the waitress. She killed it and hastily discarded it, apologizing and saying they were going to need to call the “Bug Man” again.Well, a couple minutes later, ANOTHER cockroach shows up crawling on the chair back opposite me. We asked for the check. The wait staff, after having dealt, not once, not twice, but THREE times, with our intruders, was generous enough to not charge us for the coffees we drink.As we headed out the door, at the bench where people wait to be seated, ANOTHER Jurassic sized roach! I let the greeter know and she just shrugged!!!So an after movie dinner on our 23rd wedding anniversary was definitely memorable. Thank you, Applebee’s.Next year, we are going to Waffle House.

This is a follow-up to my previous 1-Star review for this Applebees location. I was really hoping that I would be able to either change my previous review or add a new 5-Star review, but unfortunately I am unable to do so. After my previous experience with the BBQ sauce on my dessert, I called to speak with a manager but was only able to leave them a voicemail (at the direction of the automated person when you call the restaurant). Im not an angry or mean person, so the voicemail that I left was just me letting them know about the mistake that they had made and asking them to give me a call back. Surprisingly, I never heard a word. So now to this evening, I called Applebees in Rainbow City to place an order for the exact same dessert as last time, and I let the woman that took my order know about what happened the last time. She was very kind and apologetic and asked if I wanted to speak to her manager. I told her that I would be glad to speak with the manager to let that person know about my recent experience. I was on hold for approximately 2 minutes, and the same woman came back on the phone and said that the manager told her that I could have a free dessert. I was very disappointed by the fact that the manager of this restaurant in our small town couldnt take 30 seconds out of their night to rectify my recent bad experience, but its obvious that this Applebees doesnt want to fix the issues that they have. Anyway, every time that I order this dessert I pay for an extra side of hot fudge and an extra side of ice cream. I let the woman know that it was the exact same order that I had placed the last time. She took my vehicle information and said that she would see me in 10-15 minutes. I pulled into the curbside to-go space, and only sat there for a couple of minutes before a woman (not sure if it was the same onecame out with my food and with a ticket. She apologized for my previous experience and then told me that I owed $1.65 for the extra ice cream.Like I said before, I really wanted Applebees to act right and do right so that I could change my review or write a new one with a more positive theme, but it just didnt turn out that way. I would like to thank the woman that took my order as she did apologize multiple times. I could tell that she was sincerely sorry for my experience.The message that I would give directly to the management at Applebees in Gadsden: you work in a field that has to deal with customers and with the public, so when you have a customer that experiences bad service, you should do all that you can to make sure that that customer knows 1what happened, 2why it happened, 3that youre terribly sorry about it happening, and 4that you are taking steps to make sure that it wont happen to the next guest.

Good food and service, my favorite are the chicken wonton tacos, the chicken fajita roll up, and the bourbon street chicken

Inside of restaurant the floors was dirty, the table was sticky, the restrooms was nasty, utensils wasnt properly cleaned had to send back 3 times, salad leaves was unwashed, food pasta dish was extremely dry, didnt have no cheese even though advertised to have 4 cheeses & under seasoned as well, the drink my friend ordered didnt come with the gummy sharks as advertised. When we got seated there wasnt any utensils @ the table til after we was served a dirty salad. I had to give one star & didnt wont to give that because this whole experience was horrible.

Met a friend from out of town. So not a normal Applebees patron but food was good along w the service. Only complaint really is the portions for the price and it seems the food is always salty..

Their wonton tacos are the best thing they have on their menu. The bartender does not know how to make drinks. Im sorry he definitely needs some more training. And the bathroom had feces all over it. A lady was jumped in the parking lot. Two of the women involved in her getting jumped are still working there. They are no cameras. Thats an issue that needs to be corrected.

First of all I have to say I love the Applebees menu. They have some of my favorite dishes and I love going here for them. This particular Applebees was one of my fathers favorite restaurants to go to for lunch. And the wonderful people that work there make it all worthwhile.

we had a party of 4 & all of our plates got sent back , except 1 , meat was very raw blood gushing out . will never come back here again

Had to stand at the door for about 15 minutes so we see seated ourselves. We watch the black hostess run and wait and say hi to the black costumers but when white couples came in they had to stand and wait, even one time a white elderly couple was waiting and a black couple came in and she ran to the black couple behind them and sat them do not get me wrong they where not busy plenty of seats where open. They manager watched her and told her Togo home come back for more training he seen what she was doing and said she can not pick and choose who she seats. The food was good but the hostess was a bad image for the reasrunt.

The service was horrible. The waitress was rude and unhelpful. She had a I dont care attitude and made Applebees look bad. Her name is Phylicia.

Our server was awesome. Drinks were kept full and she was checking on this just enough to be professional, and not intrusive. Steaks were cooked to perfection and absolutely love dessert

The staff was friendly but slow. The floor needing a good sweeping. The bathroom smelled like raw sewage. Steak was under cooked. Appetizer was good. Ran out of drink (my biggest pet peeve)

Wait staff was limited and the hostess was turning people away at the door I understand not having enough wait staff to serve people but the restaurant was slow not very many people was seated and they was still turning people away

Ordered an appetizer that came out after the meal soggy. Asked for mustard when I ordered but did not see the waitress until after the food came out. Never got the mustard, never had opportunity to ask for it either.

My dinner wasnt very good at all .The garlic mash potatoes had very little taste blend no flavor at mac an cheese had a sweet taste the salmon very good flavor it also was little cold . The manger try to make it right very pleasant to speak with an service very good also .I want be back for awhile,very disappointed in the choice of food I recieved . Lisa did an exceptional job taking care of our group. Even the picky eaters with all their requests were handled with the greatest professionalism. We didnt arrive until 9 PM and that didnt even phase her. Thank you Lisa, for making our visit great.

Our server was great but once again the quality of the food was beyond poor and the kitchen manager only wanted to pass the blame on day shift and corporate recepies. Since when does there recepy state to dump an extreme amount of salt on steamed broccoli. I swear I have gotten less salt on a large order of McDonalds French fries compared to the amount that was on 4 orders of broccoli. Thats pretty pathetic.

Applebees is one of favorite mid-scale restaurants. I tried a different dish for a change. Sir loins arent generally tender but this one was okay, not great, just okay. What was great were their garlic butter covered bread sticks.

Very clean inside and out. Didn’t seem to be too short staffed at this time. Friendly and attentive server.Prime Rib Dipper was a wonderful sandwich piled high with hot beef covered with melted (Swisscheese, and sautéed onions. I throughly enjoyed this sandwich. **It does come with America cheese but i preferred Swiss.The dipping sauce was very bland, watery, tasteless onion sauce, they need to work on but the sandwich was very good and worth the price. I does come with fries.

Food was great. I got a new holiday drink called Tipsy Reindeer. It was delicious.

Utensils were dirty. Cups were not much better I didnt even want to eat my food. I usually love Applebees the service is great and I dont have to reclean my dishes. But this time was just a no go for cutlery. Wait staff was still friendly and helpful

There was clutter in the front area enough to detract from the experience. Host staff was not very friendly when asked questions about seating. I almost walked out right then. The wait staff was a lot better, very friendly.Hit or miss on the food. We had a breadstick appetizer that was good. My prime rib slider was very good. My wife a tomato soup that had to be sent back. She and I both tried our best and there was just something wrong with it. Thats saying something coming from me because I eat anything. The wait staff was very apologetic and tried to make it right.I wanted to like the place but I dont think we will be coming back. I cant have staff(hostAND food issues. Might try again in a year.Whatever you do, dont get the tomato soup!

Not a good experience. Male waiter rude, hot wings looked and tasted like chicken nuggets in sauce, fries looked like the leftovers that they scraped out of the bottom of the bag, bathrooms were filthy. Tea was good, jalapenos were hot, and Tanasha was a good waitress. We wont go back.

OMG! Try the chicken Won Ton taco appetizer. They are wonderful! Burgers are sometimes over cooked. But over all the food is good. Ask for Tanasha if you are there during the day, she is very personable, and consistent with her service.This pic is of the boneless wings covered with cheese this wasn’t a successful combination for me, and they were burned. Chicken quesadillas are always good.3/10 We tried the shrimp won ton dish and it was very excellent, lots of shrimp, broccoli, green peppers and mushrooms. The queso dip with taco meat and chip off of the appetizer menu was very good.
