No breakfast, limited check in hours (4 - 9 and had one bed that we couldnt separate. Great location.

A building, where you get a Spartan room in the middle of the city. Good location to check out the city which is needed activity as you dont have anything in you room (bed only). Bathrooms were neglected (by the staff and other guests also didnt respect the place).

Camera abbastanza accogliente, silenziosa nonostante si affacciasse sulla via principale della città. La struttura in generale però è abbastanza trascurata: in un bagno mancava il tappetino per la doccia, nellaltro la carta igienica, prodotti da bagno minimi. La cucina era attrezzata in modo molto approssimativo, poco di tutto, se non fossimo stati gli unici a cena e a colazione non so come avremmo potuto organizzarci. La lavastoviglie, piena di piatti sporchi alla sera, non è stata avviata e non cera detersivo a disposizione per poterlo fare. In generale si aveva limpressione di poca cura, come se nessun controllasse più di tanto se tutto fosse in ordine e pulito

Be careful if you book here. They dont inform you that breakfast is not included in the horrendous price they charge and they try to rip you off afterwards even though they were asking your room number every morning when you sit down for breakfast.The place is a first grade rip-off and although the stuff are friendly the place leaves a very bad taste.

Be careful with this guesthouse !A cancellable booking doesnt protect you if the roads are closed due to bad weather...My message to prevent from my problem was ignored, and the employee, to ask me about my arrival time, contacted me on... WhatsApp !!!

Booked a room online airbnb - didnt give me an option for double or twin.Had to collect the keys from a bar downstairs but they were busy and took a while.We went upstairs to use the communal lounge but there was a handball team in there using it for strategy talk.They said we will be finished in a while but were in there for over an hour.Went back up later and turned tv on but there was no sound on TV?Great location but needs a polite notice on the lounge about using as a training room as we couldnt use the kitchen in there to cook due to them being in there so long.

Il primo impatto e tosto: lenzuola ruvide non stirate, polvere sui davanzali, basterebbe poco per rendere questo luogo accogliente, tipo un tappetino in bagno, tende oscuranti che funzionino, togliere ke macchie sui vetri, lavare meglio gli asciugamani x togliere le macchie!!!sostituire le lampadine non funzionante del corridoio.servizio supergentile. We requested a cancellation as we could not drive safely to Akureyri (got to cancel our Northern lights tour, too!). When we asked if it was possible to get a refund we were literally told to “call Booking.com and ask”. Booking told us they needed to contact the Guesthouse itself, which then rejected the refund request.We understand the cancellation policy was strict, but why wasting our time instead of saying “no” directly?Definitely, to be avoided if you are booking places on the go.

Lits confortables, mais 90€ pour une chambre dà peine 11 m2 sans tv cest abuser, dans la douche dangle on peut à peine bouger.

It’s clean and functional, although it’s good to take note that breakfast isn’t served til 8 when most hotels do so an hour earlier… also the kitchen in the common area lacks dish soap and paper towels/napkins, clearly none of the staff ever use the facility.Now when I finally got to breakfast, the bacon wasn’t cooked, and there was no hot water for tea(the dispensers are not marked either), which caused even more delay… the floors have not been swept from the night before and one of the floor boards has peeled off without anyone noticing (or caring?)… this is not what I would call a professional operation by any standards.

Very good hostel

I stayed at the penthouse, which had a lot of nice equipment. However, I feel there werent enough supplies in the kitchen for all the equipment (for example, theres an oven but no baking tray). Some of the electricity didnt seem to work (or maybe I never figured out how it worked). My "complains" are mainly banalities that didnt affect my stay, plus I love that they had a cat! Good location, quiet spot. I would recommend it 🙂

This place is basically a hotel. Rooms have private bathrooms. There is a shared kitchen and common room on the top floor ready to be used.

Wonderful gem of a hostel in downtown Akureyri. Very friendly helpful staff. Although there were shared bathrooms (cause ya know, hostelthere was still a sink in the room which made a big difference. The common area is on the top level with an outdoor seating area, just gorgeous views of the busy plaza down below. The doors to each room had the best mechanisms to close very quietly, they had free ear plugs but I didnt need any and I wasnt woken up once. I am a light sleeper. Id absolutely stay here again!

Das ist ein Gästehaus im Zentrum - das ist es schon. Klein, ein Stuhl im DZ, extrem laut und hellhörig und wehe der Koffer wiegt mehr als 10kg und das Zimmer ist im 3.Stock. Dieses Haus ist unzumutbar und nicht zu empfehlen und viel zu teuer. Das Städtchen ist allerdings sehr schön.

This guesthouse is very nice for this price! The room is simple but spacious and clean. The common area on the top floor is a cozy place that you can make friends with other travelers and theres a well equipped kitchen (no ovenwith every utensils and spice you need. Highly recommended!

Nice cozy and simple rooms, staff is good. Very cool kitchen area, I wasnt expecting this. Wifi doesnt work (there is wifi but it has no transfer 🙂). Other than this you are in city center in pretty place. What else do you need?

Nice staff. Recieved an email that there wouldnt be any staff after 20:00. Arrived before, nice welcome. Simple but clean rooms, nice toilet and shower. Very nice kitchen area! Good value for the money!

Me sabe mal poner tan pocas estrellas a este hotel porque tuvimos un problema con el coche y la chica de recepción nos ayudó muchísimo a contactar con los de la compañía de alquiler, incluso hizo varias llamadas telefónicas puesto que nuestro ingles es pésimo. Pero a la hora de dormir fue horrible!!! Era sábado y creo que hay cerca alguna discoteca o pub y no pudimos dormir tranquilos. Se oia música muy alta y gente gritando toda la noche. Fue un poco desagradable.

Id like to thank the Apotek guesthouse!! Its a lovely place in the city center. Rooms are clean, and people are friendly! What was another surprise, the full equipped kitchen with beatiful view from the balcony.Staying here you get value for money and even more. High level service made unforgettable impression to us. Now we know we well stay next time visiting Akureyri :)

Traveling around Iceland, we spent a night in Apotek guesthouse. The hosts are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Strongly recommend to stay here. Thank you for everything.

We booked last minute to spend the night here. The check in was easy and the owners are so wonderful and helpful. The rooms are spotless and very well looked after, the bathrooms were clean and the common room was so pretty, I could have stayed there all day. I 100% recommend staying here to everyone and would definitely stay again if I am in Akureyri again! Thank you so much for the lovely stay.

Apotek Guesthouse is located in the middle of downtown Akureyri, within a walking distance to everything you might need. All the tourist attractions, restaurants, cafés and shops, the swimming pool and the nightlife. The room was clean and had super comfy beds! I stayed in a room with shared showers and restrooms which were also clean and had everything you might need. The common room on the top floor is super nice, it has a kitchen and a everything you might need to cook a good meal. The big balcony has great view of the main street. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and had many tips and great recommendations for things to do while in town.I could not be happier with my stay there, will definitely stay there again next time Im in Akureyri and will definitely recommend the Guesthouse to my friends!

Stayed there for few nights this summer and would definitely stay there again. The location was great, it´s close to nice restaurants, the swimming pool, shops and more. The bed was really comfortable and the room was clean and nice. The common area on the top floor is also good to have, we could access everything we needed in the kitchen and sunbathe outside on the balcony. Recommend this place if you like a kozy accommodation at a great location for reasonable price.

Cumple con lo esperado. Perfecto para un par de días.Está en una calle peatonal y no pudimos aparcar el coche muy cerca así que tuvimos que llevar las maletas a mano. Eran las fiestas del pueblo y al ser tan céntrico tuvimos muchos ruidos de música, gente, etcLa habitación era amplia e incluso tenia un sofa. El baño completo y la cocina tiene de todo lo necesario. Está en el mismo centro del pueblo y hay muchos restaurantes a muy pocos metros. Esta bastante bien conservado internamente no está deteriorado aunque es un edifico viejo.

Great price, great privacy however it did have thin walls. The 4th floor community space is nice - nice kitchen and tv room and balcony. Great central location to everything in the area - close to food, bars, and shopping. Not very social however so if you are looking for a hostel experience you will need to stay up on 4th and hope others join you. Overall, I was satisfied with our stay. Only complaints wee the thin walls and the towels were basically rags. We payed a bit extra for the private bathroom and it was worth it.

Check in is zonder personeel, voor diegene geen probleem. Gemakkelijk maar onpersoonlijk. Erg luidruchtig, deuren, sloten, je krijgt alles mee. Wij troffen het ook nog met een groep jongeren te zitten die een bak herrie maakt met in en uit wandelen en over de gangen schreeuwen.Inrichting en sanitair relatief nieuw, afwerking slecht, schoonmaak niet op peil. Kalk, haren stof etc.Bedden comfortabel, beddegoed verbruikt, toe aan vernieuwing. Kortom voor ons niet meer

Rooms are clean and modern. However only 2 bathrooms for 10 rooms and kitchen equipment so-so.

Good hostel but google map shows a completely wrong location. It is actually in the city center.
