Polished operation crafting refined, intricate Vietnamese delicacies with a French influence.
Service was good and food too, nothing blow my mind though. I had a salmon salad and in my opinion flavor was a little shy.
More modern Vietnamese and not so much Paris, but the food was superb nonetheless. The chef knew how to mix flavours well and I highly recommend the coconut fish.
Great food and service. Group of 8 of us got our meals promptly. Delicious cocktails too. Highly recommend the black rice pudding.
Food was good and the service was friendly.Had heard lots of positive reviews but it didnt live up to our expectations.
Amazing food, awesome staff. We enjoyed 5 mains and 3 entrees alongside a round of cocktails which were delightful. Perfect for a slightly more expensive dinner, all the prices were extremely reasonable for what you get.
The Wellington on a plate burger is amazing. Never disappointing at this place. As it is so popular, reservation is recommended.
Wouldn’t recommend if you are vegetarian or vegan. The plant based options are pretty limited and it’s really expensive. I ordered the vege option for my dish which came with tofu instead of meat and they charged me $7 extra.
The WOAP burger was great. The staff were very accommodating as we had babies in prams. Thank you for making it an easy and enjoyable experience.
WOAP 🍔 O my! 10/10So fresh n tasty & the Prawn patty, seriously superb. Fab customer service. Nice ambienceThanksHighly reecommend!
I would describe the food as more Vietnamese than Vietnamese fusion but regardless, it was bloody delicious! All of the menu options looked tempting, but the chicken salad that I chose was awesome. Service was prompt and friendly with regular checkups throughout the meal. Will be back again for sure.
Never really taken the opportunity to dine in at this venue, but if their WOAP burgers are any indication, then I really should make a better effort.Burger wise, a model of consistency at a high level! This years entry was no different. Thanks team!
Delicious array of fusion food, each better than the last. Slick service, too.
Excellent food and service in plenty of time to get to the concert across the road at the Michael Fowler Centre. Very varied beautifully presented food and an excellent guest pinot noir courtesy of Wellington on a plate 😊
Very average Vietnamese meal, and also very expensive. Decor is also pretty basic. Great service. I have found that much better (and cheaperVietnamese food is available in small eateries around Wellington, best to search them out.
Should make a reservation first .... food portion quite filling, taste delicious... fast service
Extremely disappointed as Apache came highly recommended. The duck was overly sweet, the beef bland, no depth of flavour or heat in either dish. Poor service & staff lacked wine knowledge.Hefty bill, do not recommend.
Excellent service, and helpful accommodation for vegetarian options. Delicious food and a terrific dessert
I dont think the food there is Vietnamese, not traditional anyway. But I didnt order anything Vietnamese anyway. I ordered the fish curry and I thought it was good.
We finally managed to visit Apache on our most recent trip to Wellington and we’re not disappointed! In fact, we will definitely visit again when we are next in Welly. We ordered the popcorn chicken, veggie fresh rolls and monkfish green curry - everything was incredibly delicious!
Lunch with a colleague at a really great Vietnamese fusion restaurant. Apaché’s cuisine is light but beautifully flavorful. Not a big place so it’s best to book a table in advance. A sublime Da Nang Beef Noodle, below.
Apache is simply divine. I’ve had the best steak at a restaurant and it was on a noodle dish! Great service and great food. Of all dishes, their beef dishes are a must try :)
Food tasted ok but I was assured that care would be taken when making me and my sisters meals as we are both Coeliac- however both of us had a reaction so there must have been gluten in something we ate as we shared a dish with each other. Perhaps the dipping sauce. Understand staff are probably under the pump but maybe management should give a thorough run down on what is gluten free and what isn’t so our immune systems don’t attack us when we eat out.
Tasty food and easy-going ambience. We ordered a few mains and a few appetizers and enjoyed them all. The coconut rice went well with the seafood curry. Friendly service.
Super vietnamese food and service
Nice place. The service staff seemed new and made a few mistakes but were well supported by the fantastic experienced staff. We had the squid and pork rolls to start and both were delicious, the pork rolls in particular. The Bang Bang chicken salad was an absolute highlight...so were the many gins we enjoyed.
Amazing food and service 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻definitely be back !!
A French and Vietnamese mashup may not sound like the most logical combination but every experience here has been fantastic. I love the combination of sweet and savoury but totally understand that this may not be to everyone’s taste (especially my partner). On my latest visit I forewent the safe and easy choices of popcorn chicken and bang bang chicken curry in favour of flavours that I don’t normally jump to. As a starter I opted for the Tuna Colada, a cold seared tuna dish with roast pineapple and pickles. The tuna was delicate but meaty, perfectly seared and somehow perfectly complimented by the pineapple and pickles. For a main I went for the duck curry, again paired with sweet pineapple, grapes and lychee. I savored every morsel, and was so satisfied that I couldn’t even think about desert, even though the affogato called to me with its caffeinated siren song.
The best way I can describe this place is overrated. I dont think the food is bad in any way, its flavors are just incredibly white washed which means that it turns Vietnamese flavors much more bland. I suppose I dont generally believe in Asian fusion food. I guess I understand the appeal - it does exist in wellington after all.
Had a fabulous dinner. Plenty of variety, great flavours and excellent service. Would highly recommend. Thx
Popped in on a whim, but couldn’t get a seat in the restaurant as they were full up so grabbed some food to go.Absolutely delicious food, had the Crying Tiger and Popcorn Chicken, both were an easy 5 stars. Such a great balance of flavours 👌🏼Price is maybe a touch on the expensive side, but I will definitely be back next time I’m in Wellington to sample the rest of the menu!
Had a lovely meal here on Saturday night - staff were friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere. The food was really good too! Just a tad overpriced - otherwise would have given the place 5 stars :)
If there is one word to describe this place, it is satisfaction. My boyfriend had just moved to the city so I wanted to showcase what [Ive been told] is Wellingtons best. Apache; the food and the service was unparalleled. The food was just as delicious as the hype. Milly, our server, provided the best service Ive ever personally received in New Zealand. She was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable with the menu. She really elevated this experience into an exceptional evening out. We knew before we left that wed look forward to coming back soon. We didnt take any mouth watering pictures because the food just drew us in so fast, the only one I managed was outside while waiting for the Uber - next time! ;)
I really love this place.I have only been there twice but it quickly became one of my fav where you want to come back over and over. This time we had tried 4 dishes: salmon pockets, tuna, when sea meets land, and bang bang chicken. Everything was top notched. Tuna was outstanding. Main dishes were perfectly seasoned and had so much flavor. Pork belly was so flaky and crispy on outside. Bang bang chicken salad was fresh and aromatic. Forgot !!!! We had some louts roots crisps ! What a great idea ! Mmmmm... my non-alcohol Hanoi fizz was a really great combo to all of these dishes . Reservation was easy to make . Our waitress forgot to bring one of the drinks but that was okay. We will be back soon !
Visited Apache with a few colleagues and the restaurant is packed just is always a good sign. The service was friendly and quick.. very quick actually (more on this later). The food was well cooked and tasty but I must say although I expected fusion food, I was expecting a bit authentic Vietnamese flavours in their dishes. The bang bang chicken is delicious but it could be from a Creole restaurant, and “Sea meets Land” dish with pork belly, salmon, apple, slaw, and a fried runny egg is one of the most confused dishes I’ve had in recent memory. It feel like a buffet of items which doesn’t quite tie in together. I feel like from the masses of diners perhaps we just ordered the wrong items, but we were underwhelmed. There wasn’t even time to give them feedback as we could only had the table for 75 min, which is probably why the service had to be quick!
Really impressed. Great atmosphere, attentive staff and fantastic food - What more can you ask for?Note to self: The main portions are rather large (not a bad thing by any means), but dont over do it with too many starters, like we did!
Absolutely delish and nailed the fusion. Good portions and very high quality dishes full of flavour!
This place is incredible! Vientamese food with a French twist. Been twice and everything Ive had has been amazing. Just want to make a special mention to one of the girls that works there. Both times Ive been in her service has been second to none! Amazing! Young girl with nose ring and glasses 👍
Apache proves how good Asian food can be when high quality ingredients are used. I got beef noodles that had a good, lean meat. Lotus chips were out of this world. Dumplings - best I have eaten in Wellington. More importantly they have real Vietnamese coffee. (they had the drip before drip became popular. Vietnam s coffee culture is pretty unique.)
Perfect in every way! I was ecstatic to be able to get a seat at the bench because I ate and drank to my hearts content. Bookings are highly recommended.Loved every bit, thanks!
Yummy Burger on a plate entry for WOAP as always! Uncomplicated ambiance which is great for conversations. Super friendly and welcoming staff.
The food was good, despite the hype I had hoped for more unique food and drinks. The high price point for the dishes and cocktails leaves me to expect more from this eatery as the quality I felt could be found at much lower priced restaurants. The spring rolls were quite good, while the eggplant main dish I cannot recommend especially at the price point for a vegetarian dish. The dish primarily had a spicy flare to it but unfortunately not much else.
Did a Wellington on a plate burger. 8 on 10 for the burger and beer combo. Nice spicy buns. Their non WOAP menu is great too. Its a fantastic place for lunch dates.
Really nice Vietnamese place with french influence. Good value for lunch. Old world vibe within. Very authentic. Don’t go without sampling their Vietnamese coffee.
Really special burger in Vietnam restaurant. The burger was super nice, it was really delicious and spicy I was here in New Zealand 8months ago, no reason I love it,the chef with the ingredients was really good. I think it may just suitable for Asian r who is spicy and burger lovers. As this is Vietnam restaurant. Hope the business own can maintain the quality and the staff can get a good bonus as you will earn much money after that.
Good food! Good service! But not amazing. Maybe reading the reviews make me over-expected? The pork disk is good, the fish curry is plain, the duck salad is well seasoned but quite small for a main. The dinner will be on the pricey side , quite noisy because they are small and very busy at dinner time. In compare with other semi fine dining vietnamese restaurants in town, I don’t think it’s a winner.
Flavourful and delicious. It has the real feel of a French bistro. Not too fancy or over the top, but just high quality fusion food made well. Kind service. Right in a central location. Can be busy so reservations are required.
Great experience for an Asian-Europe fusion. They have the best Vietnamese coffee in Wellington, probably in New Zealand. The food are quite innovative and make me surprise with new ingredients compare to traditional Vietnamese food. Highly recommend when you have a chance to travel in Wellington, the price can be considerably high.
Friendly staff, excellent food (very high quality! Havent had Vietnamese food like this in a whileand a charming atmosphere. Nothing to fault.
Romantic name""Hanoi meet Paris" , but the interior dero doesnt offer me the romantic arty feeling or atmosphere. The precious restaurant combined the old classical and modern style very well. The Food is ok, the price is slightly higher.
Loved Apache! Great Vietnamese fusion food, sensibly priced, excellent service too. Busy little restaurant.
