Natural history museum with Black Sea & Atlantic wildlife dioramas, plus humpback whale skeleton.
Very basic, nothing really exciting. I was expecting more dinosaur skeletons, however the measure focused on current animals/recently extinct. It’s great to go with kids but nothing worth visiting as an adult whose been in the zoo.
Really interesting exibition for all animal lovers. I also like the minerals section.
A chilling experience of stuffed animals. Living reptiles, spidders and frogs are kept in small terrariums, not reccomended for animals nor humans...
Nice museum to learn more about all the wildlife leaving in Romania and worldwide. The wetland collection is amazing.
Not many places like this in the country. Its a great place to take your kids and have a nice day with them especialy considering the fact that there is a big park right next to it.
It was fun but nothing special. No big spiders so thats fun.I think its more for young children.
An amazing place full animals, reptiles and fish (stuffed or plastic? Covering Romania and the world. The kids loved it and was quality musuem. Highly recommended
It was an amazing exhibition, the only reason I am rating it with 4 out of 5 stars is because there wasnt a description in English for some exhibits.
This was a great museum! I would give it 4.5/5. The vast majority of things are in English, the museum is laid out very well, the staff was nice, and the exhibits were well done.
Old but beautiful museum! The entry ticket is cheap!
It is really worth to see!
The temporary butterfly exposition very beautiful
The museum was ok, even the line at the entrance wasnt that bad. The big problem for me was that we went with our 5 year old son who drank all his water while sitting in line and we threw away the empty bottle. Aparently in one of the "best" museums in Bucharest one can NOT buy water and although they have water dispensers there are no cups. So we had to rush trough all the exhibits because our son, on a summer day of around 39 C couldnt drink any water. We could have had a better day.
Good museum for the price of its tickets. More information in English should be provided, considering the not only Romanian people visit it. In some information panels ,if you chose the English language all content disappeared since the text had not been translated.
Good experience for kids, needs a bit of investment, some things are missing, but kids enjoyed it 😀
Quick and beautiful museum. Great price and lovely exhibits of taxidermy animals. There are also interactive tablets and braille for any blind people interested in visiting.
Great exhibit with fun animals and good information in English as well. Definitely worth visiting since its also relatively cheap
An interesting 3-storey place for children from 5 till 13 y.o. For adults are not so interesting, it would be more interesting in the sector of human anatomy, if you can touch the bones, muscles, copulas. And it seems to me that the taxidermist didnt like cats, nearly all stuffed animal of the cats are weird(see the photos)))
My 3yo kid was very excited about everything. The dioramas are well made. But what I like the most, is the butterfly exhibition. I come every year for that.
Natural history museums are always great. The only downsides of this one is the taxidermy which isnt always the best, and some need to be definitely restored. Also the living butterfly exhibition was underwhelming, some butterflies looked dead, and many had tattered wings, which was a sad look. I still recommend visiting it though.
This museum will leave you speachless! Prepare 2 hours and patience, because there are 3 floors with many many things to see and read. It was entertaining with a big headache at the end!
One of the greatest museum to visit for children and adults!
Nice tour , nice expo,Unfortunatelly exhibits are not having any info near by them .There are boxes with mote then 10 exhibits and if you need any info ... you must find them on a display and match shadow with real exhibit .imagine how easy is to find info about a Butterfly. There are houndreds.
Everyone was very kind...they recommended appropriated tour for us. There was no queue to enter but we visited in the morning.
Very modern museum. You can see animals and plants not just from Romania and Europe, but from all over the world. On the corner of piata de victoria. Clean, organized and beautiful place. I suggest the visit. It costed 20 lei )4€).It is a very big and interesting museum. I suggest at least 1- 1.5 hour of visit.
Thank you for free admission for Ukrainians! Interesting museum, I liked it.
Nice museum with interesting exhibits. May need ear defenders as nearly deafened by excited school parties. Be aware I had planned to visit nearby peasant museum, and another but both temporarily closed. This museum very close to Metro.
Beautiful museum, with a great collection, my husband loved it...
Ive been here many times and recently with my partner and i can assure you that this museum is a thrill for all the members of your familly or friend group! The animals look very real and the lighting and fake habitats bring you into a whole new world! The history and rocks part of the museum are also fascinating :)
Great experience for any kid or adult alike. For 2 adults and 2 kids we had payed 90 lei (about 18 eurofor the regular visit and the temporary expo of hidden creatures (snakes, spiders, frogs and turtles). We arrive Sunday at 11.30 and there was no queue, but, later on, large groups of students arrived so it became a little bit crowdy.
Fun place to visit. Had some issues getting English information from some of the information units
Everything was excellent here. A lot of exhibits, well organized and good amount of information about animals from all around the world. There was also a nice temporary exhibition with live reptiles and tarantulas. I think this is the best natural science museum that Ive ever visited.
I wish I could give a nice review to this museum as I was looking forward to visiting it, but i found the exhibition to be very repetitive and almost entirely made of stuffed animals that do not look realistic at all...some of them are in very poor condition. I ended up having fun by looking at how funny-looking some of the animals were, rather than experiencing the museum itself. Maybe it’s good if you wanna bring children but I wouldn’t suggest it for adults. Positive note is that if you’re a student the price is only 5 lei
Nature science museum featuring permanent and temporary collections, with natural-size animal figures from Romania and all over the world. The museum also has Braille signs and facilities for people with locomotor disabilities.A must-do for people visiting Bucharest for the first time, especially if you’re with children, but not only.I recommend buying the tickets online, because there is usually a queue that you can skip if you do so. Visiting the whole museum takes about two hours.
One of the most beautiful Natural History museums Ive ever seen! Would definitely recommend! One of the displayed pieces is a globally unique piece and an example in nature history!
Its a great place to see, especially with children. They have a lot to learn and it generates interesting conversations but unfortunately it lacks the interactive aspect i would expect to find in such a museum. Worth the while 🙂 I especially liked the cave .
One of the best museums in the country, but not at its best. A lot of the technology is not functional, the QR codes dont work, the monitors are off. This could be a place of intense study for older children, adults also, but it seems eager to get you out rather than keep you in.Still, a very complete exhibition, definitely grab a ticket, its cheap and kids get in for free.
Nice place to bring your kid. My 8 years old was full of enthusiasm. 20 lei a ticket for an adult and 5 lei for children.
Kinda became a big let down. The good reviews are from people visiting it only one time and having nothing to compare it against, I guess its fascinating. This review is for the maintenance staff which seem that dont do their job since the last renovation took place. None of the QR codes work, none of the monitors work, none of the projectors work. And Im sure nobody complains about that.. because theyre the first time there. I visited right after the museum was reopened in 2011. Since then, every year, something would break down and not be fixed or replaced. Most of the stuffed animals were there before the renovation, but the technology added failed miserably. This USED to be the best museum in the country. Not anymore
Great museum for young and old. Very well organized exhibitions and Interesting topics covered. I recommend it more for people with kids but on a day like Tuesday when other galleries and museums were closed, this surprised us in a very pleasing way. Well time spent.
Covid safety measures in place, social distance, great dioramas and animals exposed, good explanations and well documented. A wonderful experience for a family trip.
Excellent museum for children and adults alike. The building comprises three floors on which we can see very detailed dioramas of a wide range of animals from all around the world. There are also numerous oddities, such as fossils or dinosaurs skeletons, but my favorite one was the dodos skeleton, which is a good example of what merciless hunting can lead to. We can also see collections of rocks and minerals and lots of insects, so this is very much a paradise for taxidermists and entomologists. A very enriching experience. Highly recommended.
Except for the air-conditioning system being switched off due to COVID19, everything was excellent! The kids had loads of fun. The museum is not very big, but there are many interesting items. The admission fees are reasonable, and you wont feel sorry afterwards. There is free parking on the Kiseleff Avenue, 5 minutes walking.
It was awesome. The best museum I had ever been. It’s on three floors. There are a cave. The men of registration was so nice, friendly and polite. Price for an adult is 20 lei, for student is 5 lei. For take a photo you have to pay more 10 lei. It’s so interesting. I recommend it.
Great experience at Antipa museum. The collection is very diversified and they did a very good job curetting the exhibits. Also very family friendly, Had a great time at the museum. Would definitely recommend!
i like this museum because it is fun it has a great deal of interesting exhibits, a perfect cave and great gifts. Dont forget to go to this Museum with your kids! You need two hours to wander around
Very interesting visit with kind and dedicated, skilled personnal.A good place to learn or discover the love for science for all ages. Its a trip through time and space for all ages with cute scenes mixing with reality of nature sometimes. It is a majestuous museum where you forget about time and enjoy science.
One of the most interesting museums in Bucharest. It has a large collection of stuffed animals, which sounds creepy but it actually provides a good material for learning about fauna and leaving your kids with a big picture about the living organisms on our planet. Only 4 stars because it could be larger, it could use a restaurant or at least some sandwich and drink dispensers, the building could use a renovation and the dioramas could be actualized to reflect todays problems like pollution or mans other many mistakes regarding our planet. Cheap ticket 4.5 euro for adults, easy acces right in the center of town, close to Victoria Palace, National Peasants Museum, National Geological Museum, The Arch of Triumph, Mihai I Park and Village Museum, perfect for a day of visiting. On some days you can catch a butterfly expo, a kids show or workshop or a live animal show in the Museum back garden.
Its not the London Natural History Museum, but surprisingly close. Nice, detailed dioramas, high quality real exhibits. Interactive screens that help you understand what is what. It could use some improvement in that department however, as some of the exhibits lacked explanations. The info could be updated and made to be more consistent in terms of structure, too. Overall, quite an impressive museum, some of the best Romania has to offer. The price is fair, especially if youre not Romanian. 😊 The photo tax (even for smartphonesis old fashioned and completely inappropriate, and is the main reason I am giving the museum 4 out of 5 stars.
A goos place to go with children. Ticket price 20 ron per adult, small children are benefiting from free admission. The museum changed in last years, now its more modern and close to the ones from western europe. However, its rather medium to small and u cand pass thru the 3 floors in about 45. Audio guide available, pictures (non professional10 ron.
