Antigua Abacería de San Lorenzo - Andalusian restaurant in Sevilla, Spain
I have been here twice for lunch and wasn’t really impressed. Food was just ok. Service wasn’t great either. Would not come back or recommend.
We came here thinking wed grab a drink and a snack while waiting for a table elsewhere and decided to stay. Its a stellar place with an interesting menu, great staff, and excellent wine and vermouth selection. Definitely recommend!
I asked the waitress to recommend 2 small tapas, she disappeared into the bar, minutes later I got a free artichoke starter (acidic, tangy, delicious), then came a type of bean stew with im assuming blood sausage (hearty and filling), and then the oxtail stuffed tortilla? with melted cheese on top (flavoursome and addictive). An altogether wonderful eating experience and a "Must See" place on your Tapas travels around Sevilla.Read more on: bittermansguide.com
Not too good food. Service ok.
Nice tapas, high quality wine great friends.
Authentic restaurant with traditional decoration. Signature dishes are worth trying.
A quirky place serving good tasty food. Luckily one waitress spoke English or we may have been in trouble, as the staff speak little English. However, this seems a popular place with tourists and locals
100% need a reservation, but once there you feel like youre in a family living room.
My favourite place in Seville.Food is traditional yet unlike what I found in other places. Very very tasty and the service is great!I would love to come back!
Tiny, intimate place, thats like a cross between your grannys parlour and an ancient grocery store. Which I guess is what a traditional abaceria would be! Superb vermouth, great food (including the best morcilla Ive ever tastedall at standard prices. Which makes it great value!Im usually very much an "each to their own" sort of person, but the people criticising this place are obviously misguided, impatient or just stupid!
Ambience and food was so good! Finally an authentic restaurant in Seville!
Fantastic place. Quality food and excellent ambiance and service. Very fruendly
Amazing place! Must in seville.
Sometimes relying on Google scores just doesnt work and this is one of those times. I really dont understand why this place is so highly rated. The food is terrible, you are crammed into a corner and yet were all meant to feel that its great because the decor is quirky. If you like your food smothered in industrial mayonnaise then go. If not, give it a wide, wide berth.
The service was so bad that we walked out workout eating anything. We asked for the menu and the waiter said he was getting it but walked right out for his smoke break. We then found another waiter and got a menu from him. Then we asked him multiple times to take our order, he kept saying he was going to come in a moment, and never came. This cycle repeated for almost 10 minutes and we decided to leave. Maybe the food is good, maybe its not, but I dont think anything is worth a bad overall experience. Any decent restaurant should at least respect their customers enough to not completely ignore them.
This is an amazing authentic place for locals which is situated aside from touristic lanes (still in 20 mins of relaxed walking from the cathedraland therefore is not crowded by tourists. Nevertheless there are a lot of customers in this small restaurant and this place is very vibrant. I especially like its atmosphere as well as food and drinks. The owners are very friendly.I truly enjoyed eveything in this place!
Beautifully rustic place with some of the best food Ive had in Sevilla. Come during lunch hour but be prepared to wait. Usual caveats about eating out in Sevilla, be prepared to work at the pace of your server.Otherwise their staff can be attentive and recommend some seriously special daily dishes.Pretty much everything is recommended here with how good it tastes but I particularly like their Huevos de Ramon and any of their iberico dishes.
Probably my fault: 1> dining/traveling alone, and 2> did not call to make a reservation. A very, very knowledgeable source hand-wrote a recommendation for me, because dining out Sunday night in Seville is dicey. They did eventually sit me, with a time limit however, and there was neither enough time nor knowledge to make decent food selections, and it was frankly mediocre. Would maybe go back with a local if I ever returned to Seville, but had taken a taxi to get there and was frankly very disappointed. All in all, had better food in Barcelona and Madrid, although all told, Seville may have been my favorite place as a city or place to live, hang out.Lukewarm, tending towards cool (in terms of temperature, not experience).
Great food and tapas. The owner was lovely and made us a table when there wasn’t space. The artichokes were my dish of the trip!
Shaky and Sticky tables cramp space like eating in your grandmothers attic. Mediocre food at best .Very disappointed.
The real sevillian experience! I highly recommend this place: one of the most authentic tapas restaurant in Seville. The staff (runned by a familycouldnt be so helpful, smiling all time and trying to get a space for us despite was 23.40h at night! Perfect ibericus ham, local river fish (catch of the dayand the best croquettes ever!!!! Sooo yummy, sooo nice and so authentic!!!
Like eating in a legends living room. Not fast, but tasty. Very quirky space too!
Well worth searching out. Quite an Alladins cave, quirky and fun. The best traditional food, felt like we were eating in the owners home!
You either love it or hate it here. We fell in love for sure. I cant remember the last time weve been to a place with so much character! Its very small, but their hearts and smiles are very big, so were our bellies when we finished eating. The quality / price ratio is unbeatable. Highly recommended!
Wonderful place to have lunch or dinner. Impeccable service and delicious food!
Very special - Delicious food, cosy atmosphere and wonderful service.
Good food, not so great sangria (seemed to be prepared with sparkling water). What i didnt like is that the check didnt seem legit, I have no certainty that the prices were right. They might pay taxes or not for what we ordered. Im giving 4 stars thanks to the lamb shoulder, otherwise would have been 3.
Without doubt the best food we had all weekend in Seville...If you dont go..You are missing out on a great dining experience. And its very reasonable. When we return to Seville we will definitely be back..more than once 😍
Esthers delivered an excellent service. And the food was very good and got kind of homey taste. Pin it as the place to come when ever in Seville.
Fantastic local food, very pleasant staff, ideal if you want to taste the Andalusian cuisine. 100% recommended.
Absolutely amazing food!I recommend to follow the suggestions given by the lady serving the tables.
Nice family run business. Food is ok and its target mainly for tourists.Price quality is average. The house specials like the beef tartar are good the cheeses and meats are not worth the quality or size. All in all is an honest family run, very cosy place for a drink and quick tapa.
A pearl of a restaurant on the east side of Seville! Small, cosy, great food and perfect for the off the tourist road traveller! Will go back for breakfast tomorrow!
Hidden gem! Our favorite spot on the trip. Fantastic wine, cheese, tapas, atmosphere, and the local feel we were looking for! Would love to come back
Great food decent prices. I recommend to take "pinchos" in order to try more plates.
Lovely authentic Spanish tapas in a quirky, cosy atmosphere. Very good value and the tapas was great, in particular the specials
Amazing food! A local gem that fascinates any taste. Must do!
We ate here on two consecutive days because we were blown away by the quality and variety of the food.Tapas were fantastic and very cheap. The range of cheese was huge. The service fabulous. Staff went out of their way to explain the specials of the day.It is populated by locals and the atmosphere is homely.Gazpacho delicious.
Ordered sangria and somebody had already drank from it (it was red lipstick, so nice choice I guess).
Delicious traditional but highly original tapas. Short menu but fantastic ingredients and quality. Interesting traditional decor, with a cost layout.Highly recommend booking in advance. Helpful knowledgeable staff, although our waiter kept dropping things. Overall a great place.
One of my favourite places. It is small but has tons of charm and warmth, with an antique decoration. Reservations are highly recommended. The food, Spanish but not typical, is really good and the price is good for the quality and the place (last time I think it was 20€/person). Basically everything in the menu is very good. And the service is awesome... I think it is run by a family.
Great food. Small in size. Be prepared to be seated in the kitchen watching them wash dishes in the dish washer. Again though I must reiterate. The food was really good. Recommend booking in advance. Gets busy.
Jesus and his colleagues looked after us. The food was splendid. Check it out when visiting Seville. You won’t be disappointed.
Great atmosphere and good food. Very old style Andalusian restaurant. A must if you visit sevilla.
The best food in Seville! Authentic food in a cosy restaurant. We sat where we could see one of the chefs preparing... it was fascinating the small amount of space she worked in. Dangerous place to sit as we saw all the dishes come out and wanted to order everything. Our waitress was lovely. Really made an effort to explain all the specials to us in English... she was so lovely. All the dishes were amazing. You can also let them decide on what to serve you if you are not sure. Menu available in English.I will be here again. Yum yum yum!
Delicious. The staff is kind but will seat locals first. Speaking Spanish is helpful here but if you just decide to take a chance without knowing on the dishes you will be rewarded. The Duck pate is to die for.
Excellent food. Very friendly staff. Most authentic tapas restaurant we have visited in Sevilla. A place to remember and to revisit.
Nice local place, is cozy and the food and ambiance is great. Get the sampling menu for 20 euros, is totally worth it.
Even though I dont speak Spanish, the owner made me feel at home at this restaurant. They served some tapas on platters while we waited for our table upstairs. The whole restaurant makes you feel like youre sitting inside someones house for dinner. The small kitchen upstairs had two women cooking on a few burners. I was completely amazed at how well the food came out of such a small work area. The special of the day was a bull meat burger with foi pate inside; complimented with caramelized onion sauce and potatos. It was impeccable! If its ever the daily special, I highly suggest ordering it.
Great place to eat which specialises in local cheese, charcuterie and wine (but you still have a wide variety of dishes).
