Antica Trattoria da Tito - Restaurant in Florence, Italy
Antica Trattoria da Tito in Florence
Description
Privilege
Great food, amazing atmosphere. Being outside of the touristic center gives it a special "local" wibe.Book one day ahead - very difficult to catch a table on walk-in.
MoreDecided to go last minute and managed to get a reservation! Ordered the grandma meatballs, parmigiana, fried polenta, osso bucco, seafood risotto and the steak with mushroom and truffle cream sauce. We were 4 people.Everything arrived very quickly and at the same time which was a bit stressful but we managed. We loved everything but the seafood risotto. There was a rogue prawn that had gone bad with black juices and a powdery texture - a clear sign that it has gone bad!We brought it to the waiter’s attention and they offered to make another but we declined. They took it off the bill, which while appreciated was also the least they could have done. Would have also appreciated acknowledgement that they stuffed up with it and apologised for it. But they behaved liked it never happened and got really defensive when we said the seafood was off. However, everything else we had was homely and good. We would still return but not for the seafood risotto!
MoreIf you are looking to eat traditional food in Florence, this is your place - they will not mold their menu to become more palatable to tourists - this is present on the menu and the writing on the walls. The staff is friendly - which is not the norm in the area - but will not hold your hand to select from the menu or to figure out the best way to eat your meal.I cannot imagine a single person can eat the 1.2kg min. Florentian stake, but one quickly learns the min weight it’s important to ensure a moist and (oh so popularred in the middle peace of meat.Just like climbing the Dome, a place you want to try for the experience once
MoreAmazing food, wonderful staff, simply an A+ establishment! Every time Income to Florence I pay them a visit and have nothing but great things to say. Grazie!
MoreTried this place based on good reviews. Food was average (tourist trap). The waitress was very rude. She took our plates from us as we were still eating.
MoreRecommend making a reservation but if they can fit you in, its worth the wait! Amazing food, lovely service, and comforting atmosphere!
MoreExcellent quality of food! Small menu everything fresh with a touch of home cooking. Exceptional service. Already tried it twice.
MoreDont come here if you like a well done steak! However if you are like me, and enjoy your steak red (the proper Florentine way), then you should come here! I had the prime rib, and it is easily one of the best pieces of meat Ive had! Super high quality! Also suuuuuper friendly staff - even a turist felt just at home in what was a very local setting (and talking about the setting, it is just fun to look around at all the people who have signed their walls). And also thanks for the papa al pomodoro and limoncello on the house - i will definitely come back next time Im in Florence:))
MoreDinner here on our last night in Florence. Despite lack of booking the super-friendly staff found us a table for 4 and proceeded to attend to our every need. Food was all delicious and freshly prepared. We will be back for sure.
MoreFantastic meal! The flower zucchini and the Florentine steak was excellent. Best taramisu weve ever had! The staff was incredibly accommodating. We thought we had made reservations a month ago but did not. They sat us down and explained, very politely, that they were completely full and would need the table in an hour and a half. They were GREAT! Had time for three course AND dessert! Thank you Tito!
MoreWe had the best dinners in Florence at this restaurant! It was so good we came back for the second time. The food, music and atmosphere is just amazing! The waiters were extremely nice and provided the best service. At the end of our dinner they put a bottle of limoncello on our table so we just sat there sipping it (they also offered almost every single guest limoncello shots when leaving). Moreover, they didn’t even charge for it. The food was amazing, the people were great and we left not only feeling full but also happy. One of the best restaurant experiences! If you’re in Florence - it’s a must go (just maybe make a reservation as it gets full).
MoreFantastic staff with an even better atmosphere. The food is good but jot the best Ive ever had, although the soup with bread was really good! But the way the staff makes your evening fun is definately worth a visit.
MoreWow!!!! Best meal in Italy so far (after 10 days travelling around). I had the green lasagna as primo and then the steak with mushroom cream, followed by tiramisu and limoncello. Everything tasted like heaven! The lasagna was so tasty-creamy-meaty, the steak was so tender and the limoncello oh my god! Homemade, all you can drink limoncello ❤️ Incredible meal, I will probably go back the tomorrow because I doubt I can find a better restaurant in Firenze!
MoreExcellent food!Suberb ambianceExcellent service!!Walls covered in graffiti from previous customers. What gives this place a special touch. Not suited for Americons who are only used to censored curse words and blurred out phallic symbols....
MoreSuch a beautiful restaurant in Florence, our hotel manager recommended it and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious and servers were bilingual and so sweet. So much character and love in this gem I had to go twice in our short visit. Definitely returning to Florence just for them I’d recommend them to anyone just be sure to save yourself time by making a reservation:)
MoreGreat stake - bistecca a la Fiorentina and other meat based dishes.
Had heard alot of good things about this place so had to try it. Went by first night I was in Florence but it was fully booked so I took a gamble and went back the next day and I got the last table for that day. So definitely recommend to book ahead you might not have the same luck as me. Very glad I went back, the food are amazing as well as the service. Very friendly and social people that works there. Their meatballs are to die for and the gnocchi was excellent. Got a free homemade limoncello in the end of the meal. Very appreciated gesture. Definitely going back next time Im in Florence but with a table reservation
MoreWe had Bruchette, Tuscan ham & melon, grannys meatballs, potato ravioli and desserts. It was all absolutely delicious and the service the brilliant! Highly recommended!
MoreAbsolutely brilliant trattoria near the edge of the main town. About 10 minutes walk from the historic centre, its well worth the trip.It has an unpretentious vibe with lively friendly waiters. The walls are covered in messages from previous patrons, and generally it feels very historic but lived in.The food was excellent, with a range of Tuscan classics.Music also worth a shout out, when we left at around 10.30pm the place was still buzzing with locals and they had some David Bowie blaring out.
MoreQuite local place serving delicious pasta. Try the Pappardelle and the Pici, both are quite good. The bottled house wine (bottle on every tableis mediocre at best though. Great coffee of course, as expected.Friendly staff and great atmosphere all around!
MoreAmazing service, cosy place, food - yummy !!! Highly recommended to visit!!!
Such a great atmosphere. Vocal and loud in a best way.Food is carefully prepared and the meat is flawless. So much care went into preparing it and it shows.
MoreMy favorite dining experience in Italy! Had a fantastic Veal steak perfectly cooked as well as the best tiramisu Ive had in my life. We were given a free appetizer and multiple free shots of limoncello! They staff were friendly and attentive and the meal and wine were delicious!
MoreCrazy little trattoria, with an intentional young attitude—google Goliardia— which is super refreshing in a place like Florence (you’d rather expect it in Bologna instead).Offers standard dishes at reasonable prices. They are perfectly fine. I love the bruschetta with marinated anchovies, as a starter. Really enjoy the vibe and attitude. Would return.
MoreCame here because my wife and I were staying on this end of town and didnt want to walk back to the city center. Couldnt have been more pleased! Very homey vibes, and the wait staff was having fun with us, joking around and dancing to the tunes. We had excellent wine, the best lasagne Ive ever had, and then my wife was (I kid you notmoved to tears by the berry Panna Cotta. I swear. Fantastic spot!!!
MoreIf you want to have a great atmosphere, really nice and friendly staff, portions and taste that are very much worth the money this is the place to be. If you know your wine preferences in general, theyll give you recommendations. And dont hesitate to ask for side dishes, they are just as amazing as the main courses. Great restaurant!!
MoreCould have been the rather busy evening, but the person at the front desk was a bit stressed and very curt. We were overcharged (4 coperti although we were only 2 people). Happens, but it left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths.Edit: Regarding the reply: Maybe work on your service skills so you dont have to cheat customers out of their money? They usually tip if they think the experience worth it. Just a hint.
Morevisiting tuscany at the minute and this spot came highly recommended via my best friend - i managed to get a last minute reservation and man, im so glad i did. we were blown away by how lovely the servers were, so kind and absolutely hilarious.. you can tell theyre proud of what they do and that made the experience so much better. the food itself was unreal - probably the best lasagna ive ever had the pleasure of eating. all for such a fair price too. would have happily paid more. cannot recommend this place highly enough!
MoreWe were so glad we made a reservation here though it’s away from the main tourist area. The steak was fantastic (get it rare!and the pappardelle was amazing. However, the roast potatoes was life changing it was quite literally the best roast potatoes we’ve ever had. Crunchy on the outside, somehow super buttery smooth on the inside - we were hooked! Highly recommend this restaurant for dinner but remember to make a reservation!
MoreUnique, fun atmosphere. Delicious appetizers, pasta, and wine!
I have been here 4 times already and I love the place. The food is good and the menu also has variations depending on what is in season (e.g. artichokesor is available. For example, I once had amazing pappardelle with roe deer ragu. The staff is very efficient and friendly. Nobody takes each other too seriously which makes for a super chill atmosphere, with lots of free flowing limoncello and digestiefs!
MoreIncredible meals and experience. We visited twice and each time it was memorable. There is plenty of food. The pasta is incredibly fresh and the steak is delicious! The service is very attentive, friendly - and silly!
MoreWe had an incredible meal here as a family. The food was out of this world, exceptional service and just an all around great experience. So thrilled to have found this gem. The lamb shank was fantastic, the ravioli was so good we ordered a 2nd! 😋
MoreI wish I could give this place more stars, my dinner here a couple of weeks ago was incredible! One of the most enjoyable dining experiences Ive had, my favourite meal during my 10 days in Italy. I had the pappardelle and tiramisu, with the house red to drink. The food was delicious and it was made ever better by the hospitality. I was on my own but it was a genuine pleasure, Lorenzo was so welcoming and so were the rest of his staff! A truly fun experience. The limoncello, amara and bay leaf liquor on the house were delicious, thank you. I wish I had asked if you sold bottles of the bay leaf to take back with me. The next time I am in Florence, I know where I will be going!
MoreSuper fun and authentic experience. Not only was the food amazing but the staff was exuberant!
MoreAmazing place with authentic feel and great food! Not as touristy as other restaurants. It’s recommended to reserve a table here first, especially if you plan a late dinner. We were lucky enough to find a table last minute without a reservation as we were there quite early.Best mixed Appetizers Platter we’ve had to this day! Something 5 very picky people were able to agree on.I can also recommend the beef tenderloin with lard.Only things that took us by surprise, causing a lower rating:- the soup wasn’t really a soup in the traditional sense, due to the bread. It’s very thick- the rabbit stew is quite bony, so might take some time to eat. Also a bit too salty for my liking
MoreYou have to absolutely come here.We just loved everything about this place. EVERYTHING.The good vibes, the staff (thank you Meggie!!!), the FOOD. Everything was just amazing. The staff was so nice and so much fun and the food was just *chef’s kiss* so we really thank you!
MoreReally delicious food. If you want to feel real Italian atmosphere, then walk a little bit away from centre and youll find local food with reasonable price.I have been to several trattorias in Firenze and Tuscany, this one is really the best!
MoreI visited here in 2014, and to this day I tell people of the magnificent steak I had here. I compare all other steaks to my memory of the filet I had here. On a summer trip from America, we arrived late for dinner by Italian Standards, or so I learned, and by the end of the meal we were the only ones left. Had the famous limoncello shots everyone is mentioning in their reviews. It was a fantastic meal, with great staff, and fabulous atmosphere. I spent 3 weeks in Italy: Rome, Florence/Tuscany, Venice. It was the best meal I had, and the only one I remember 7 years later. Grazie per la cena!
MoreIt was our second visit and honestly, it is a unique place. I would describe the food as being very traditional, rustic, regional focused but above all the best in terms of taste that you can find in town. There is no fuss here. The waiter might sit down at your table while he takes your order or even down a shot of Amaro with you at the end of your meal. You might see a huge table of stag doer drinking heavily and screaming like they are at home. You might see one of the waitresses dancing with a random guy. Here anything is possible. It’s not for a romantic quiet dinner but for an entertaining and authentic florentine experience!
MoreGreat place for a cheap, quality meal and fun to bring friends/out-of-towners to. (I’ve been twice, and this last time there was a smell of sewage in the front room - not appetizing... at least it faded before our food was served.Famous for its rowdy servers and super casual atmosphere, sassy and crude t-shirts, and bloody beef... an entertaining and satisfying night out!
MoreDelicious food and wine served with personable service. I came here for lunch on a weekday with recommendations from our guide at the art gallery. We didnt have a reservation and the place was packed but they luckily found a table for us nonetheless. We had polenta to start, ribollita and pasta for entrees, and the Florentine steak for main. All this with some sangiovese wine. We loved all of it, and the honest reminders everywhere to respect local traditions and not ask for cappuccinos or for steaks well done.
MoreI wanted to go to this place for so long and finally I managed. All in all, I have to say that it was a positive experience and I would go back there. It is a very hyped place in Florence, and even though I wouldnt call it fantastic, it is definitely a good restaurant with originality and tradition. The food was tasty and fresh, above all the meat was juicy and had a very good taste. The wine we chose was good as well and so were the deserts. The place is well known also for the fact that the waiters are making fun of everything and everyone. I found them very funny but in a mannered and pleasant way, not surpassing any limits. I think it is important to not take life as seriously and to always laugh, also at ourselves.
MoreWe visited this restaurant on a recommendation from our B&B just up the road and had one of the best meals on our Italy trip! We didn’t have a reservation but the staff made sure we got a table that would give us plenty of time. We had the bruschetta, stew rabbit of the woodman, and pappardelle with wild boar, and cheesecake, plus 1.5L of their house wine. Everything tasted amazing and was very reasonably priced, and the lemoncello on the way out was a great touch. Highly recommend this restaurant!
MoreA very crazy place where the waiters sing and dance and get you drunk! We had a blast and also enjoyed some really great food. An unapologetic, authentic place with excellent wine, pasta and meat.
MoreThe friendliest people in all of Florence. You must go here during your trip. From the minute I stepped through the door, they made me feel as though I was at home. Every staff member was friendly and smiled. I shared a T-Bone steak with a friend and it didn’t disappoint. I wasn’t aware prior to going that it would be served rare, but it was still excellent. At the end the staff gave us free shots. Overall an excellent experience.
MoreAs a Spanish foodie, I must say this place is really worth it. Quality ingredients, traditional recipes and kind staff.Need to book a table in advance.Meat is great! Minimum of 1,2kg for 4€ per 100g. Awesome quality.Had limoncello and amaro as house’s courtesy.Would definitely come back!
MoreGreat local place. Their service is extremely friendly and they have a staff member that speaks English. We went there with no reservations right when they opened and was seated immediately. The steak was huge for such a good price. Perfectly cooked rare and flavored well. Would definitely come back next time Im in town.
MoreWe ran into this authentic Italian restaurant an couldnt have been more pleased. We tried the ribollita, bruschetta and cod. All delicious! The waitress was very nice and friendly and spoke good English. At the end of the meal they offer you typical Italian after dinner liquor for free. The price and ambience are great!
MoreOne of the best local restaurants in Florence ever. If you really want to eat the real Florentine meat, you definitely must go there!Nice staff, very good dishes, and honest prices.Just one thing: you have to arrive early if you don’t want to stand in line a lot waiting for a table. Highly recommended.
