Beautiful location and great pizza

Located in the center of Caserta, Hosteria Massa offers a typical local cuisine. Crossing the courtyard is like a jump into the past. We really had appreciated the food and our glasses of wine. The taste of traditional recipes. My friend enjoy his "guancia alla birra" and I have spoken about your tiramisu to others! If I can give you a suggestion, in particular on "degustazione km0" dish, it would be better to improve the presentation and align the price. Having said that I really recommend you to reserve a table here and enjoy your meal!

The best food we have had in Italy. Special diet needs were handled with an exceptional care. The service was also top notch.We had the traditional menu and portions were so big that we couldnt eat all the food, although we would have liked to.

EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS!! Great atmosphere, fast friendly service, best pizzas in town, reasonable price ! We went three times during our stay! Love this place!

A very disappointing experience. Frittura soaking with grease, cheeses in it of very poor quality and taste. Risotto undercooked and tough. Beet mistaken in the translation for beef. Please omit this address.

Polite and professional service. The beef cheeks pasta was cooked to perfection, tender and melting in the mouth. Good selection of Italian wines. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Passing through Caserta this beautiful restaurant is located in the main street of the city and was recommended to us by friends. The menu has 4 courses and we tried both meat and fish dishes, all expertly cooked. Balanced and well presented flavors. Polite and professional staff. Booking recommended because it is very popular. Compliance with anti covid-19 regulations. I would have liked to visit the cellars which, I had read on the site, were part of a system of tunnels connected to the Vanvitelliana Palace.

Well, the first few steps into the restaurant were nice. Nice space, friendly host and hostess.But, if you are looking for some type of Italian culinary experience better than - I dunno - the Olive Garden - keep on lookin’.The service was atrocious. Not just for us, but for every table in our vicinity. Everybody hold up your glasses at once! Not in celebration, but because you have been without a drink for over an hour. Or - as somewhat amusingly happened to us - a waiter teases you with your unopened bottle of wine sitting on your table for a half hour.But, perhaps the food can redeem it? Nah. The pasta was a rotten-fishy flavour, not a fresh-fishy one. The deep fried squids were frozen popcorn shrimp dressed up as a fancier cousin for the night, and the sample platter of cooked meats looked as grey as the old cobblestones outside. Ok, the pork - while grey - was pretty tasty. But the potatoes had zero seasoning and would have had a better fate as part of a McDonald’s happy meal.The desserts were ok. And there’s a cool hole in the ground where you can see an old basement or something. But... you’re in Italy! Go somewhere else.

Beautiful restaurant on the main strip of the oldtown in Caserta. Menu offers a lot of vegetarian and gluten free options. Good prices, large portions ane excellent customer service

Overall, Massa is simply excellent restaurant, five stars. From the moment you step in until you step out staff will do its best to make you feel special. Food was delicious, desert even better. Sitting by the fireplace in cold evening is precious. Worth of every cent you spend there.

Wonderful food, friendly service, and the atrium was a beautiful place to sit, too. If youre anywhere nearby, or just on the way between Rome and Naples, its well worth the trip!

Awful service and the pizza was undercooked. They sat us right next to the pizza oven so we were sweating all night, despite there being multiple tables open all over the restaurant, and the service was inattentive so we werent able to ask for more water or more wine. Plus the pizza was not nearly cooked well enough to be good Napolitano pizza. This is Italy, you can do better.

Massa has to be one of the top restaurants in Caserta. Using recommendations from Google Maps, I visited Massa on my second night and was immediately impressed. The wait staff made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The food and wine were excellent. My only regret was that I only had two other opportunities to return to Massa during our short visit to this beautiful city. Highly recommend you visit this restaurant whenever you are in Caserta.
