Antica Forma - Pizza restaurant in Vernal, United States
Everything was terrific! We had the Pistachio sausage pizza and peach pie for dessert. Both were so good. And you couldn’t ask for better service. Definitely recommend it!
Popped in here for a gluten free pizza - I wasn’t expecting much, but it was amazing. Very very tasty, and close to the gluten free pizzas I had when in Parma.Very friendly staff, and good atmosphere. If you’re in Vernal, I’d highly recommend this place!
Mediocre and over priced. $100 for 3 entrees and a kids pizza. Paper napkins and a table that wobbled throughout our meal. Our waiter must have had a bad day as we received very little attention and never refilled our drinks. The food was mediocre. I felt like I was at an upgraded Pizza Hut, paying double than what this overall experience offered.
In a word, amazing! Do yourself a favor and eat here if you are ever in Vernal. Ive never had a gluten-free pizza this good. Not only was the staff welcoming but the pizza is crazy good.
Amazing flavored pizza. Ordered the Il Tartufo that had a crispy thin crust that I could eat all day. Came with Garlic bread that was also great. Slower service, but well worth the wait. Will be back again to try their other pizza flavors.
Sadly, this place didnt live up to my expectations. It felt like the servers were going out of their way to be cordial towards the locals but not the tourists. It took longer than it should have to get our food once we sat down and get our check/to go box.
Very popular choice in a town without a lot of options. We got take out and although they were slammed our order was ready fast.I loved my lasagna which was large and tasty, didnt come with red sauce, not sure what to call it.My husband wasnt as lucky with his clam linguini, not much pasta and the sauce was odd, kinda alcoholic n generally bland. The meals do not come with sides or bread. Not that expensive, just over 40 for both of us.Maybe the pizza which apparently only comes in personal size is good.
Best wood fired pizza! We ate several during our 2 week stay at lovely Vernal KOA. Another location in Moab.
Damn!!! Wonderfully sized portions. What I mean by that is, bring your appetite!Great service. The mozzarella is creamy, and the pasta sauce was rich a savory. Drooling yet? Just a great italian spot here in Vernal, Utah. Also near Skinwalker Ranch.
Great wood fired pizzas along with delicious garlic bread and fantastic salads. Service is wonderful as well as ambiance.
I had a great salad to wonder what happened to the pizza. Why does the basil taste like dish soap? Who is in charge of this restaurant? I hear the grow their own plants, but what is going on!? This state of Utah just INVESTIGATE ANYTHING as a way to keep the costs down and pocket the money. They don’t have human services here. They look for ways to take the money from you. I guess they haven’t learned about Cosmic Karma,”What Comes Around Cosmically, Comes Around.” “You Reap What You Sow, What You Cosmically Put Out Will Come Back To You Three Fold, At Minimum!”
A little expensive but it was worth it. The asparagus soup was amazing and even the crust on the pizza was delicious. We normally always leave the crust behind but not this time. Very impressed with the flavor and quality.
Took a while for them to acknowledge my presence and desire for a table. But I didnt wait too long.. I got the chicken parmigiana, and at least it was very good for the trouble.
10 out of 10-would highly recommend! Pistachio pesto pizza-fabulous! Spinach salad-amazing! Fresh peach pie-incredible! I will come up with excuses to come back to the basin to enjoy such delectable food!
New to the basin area. I was raised going to Olive Garden for special occasions as Chicken Alfredo is my favorite food. Their Alfredo here is to die for. Probably on par if not better than olive garden. At first taste its different but as the parmesan melts into the sauce it gets better and better. A little pricy, but then again no one complains about paying that much for quality when its at places like olive garden, so I wont complain here. 10/10. My wife loves their pizza as well, and homemade strawberry puree lemonade is outstanding.
A little pricey, but very good Italian food
The pizza was absolutely fantastic. And the lemon cheesecake was superb. A little slow on the service, but the waitstaff made up for it! Would highly recommend!!
Everytime my family goes traveling to Wyoming this is our go to place in Vernal. I love their pizzas and appetizers. Friendly people who make you feel so welcoming.
Amazing pizza, pasta and dessert. Large portion sizes, the individual pizza can be shared by 2!
I’d like to consider myself someone who makes good pizza. Eating here humbled me. The crust was perfect, with good fermentation, you could tell the dough wasn’t made the same day. Toppings were simple and just as perfect. Great atmosphere for casual dining, brick oven right up front so we could see the pizzas being made. Highly recommend.
Must visit this restaurant!!!! ❤️ Wait was long even though there were many open tables, not going to hold short staffed against them. The food was amazing!!! ❤️❤️ I had the gluten free pizza, and it was the best GF Ive ever had. The dough was thick just like a regular pizza. I actually had to double check with our awesome waitress if it was really GF. If you get a desert, and if you like coconut, I highly recommend the coconut gelato!!! Heavenly!!!

Delicious pizza and Reuben sandwiches, and the gelato was outstanding! They have a good selection of sandwiches and an outstanding variety of great pizzas with unique toppings and sauces.
We were in town for a baseball tournament and this restaurant was suggested by some friends.I will never come here again. In my salad, which I took a bite of, was a used band aid. This thing was in my mouth. It was the most absolutely disgusting thing that I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The server showed very little empathy toward the fact that I just chewed on someones used band aid.Apparently there was no manager on duty - he was in St George.Don’t go here. Nasty. Uncaring. Filthy. I can’t even think about the situation without gagging.Absolutely horrible.
I would give less than 1 ⭐️ If I could. Phoned in an order at 6:50 pm and went to the restaurant at 7:20. Waited for 30 more minutes and they never could find the food. Tried to ignore us ~ hostess nowhere to be found. Waitresses working hard but really ~ don’t ignore the patrons!!!
Second time visiting post-river trip. Had the GF pistachio pesto pizza with artichokes rather than sausage and it was AMAZING! We had a huge group, the place was crowded and our server Shaylee did her best to keep up and did a great job. Everyones food was delicious and there werent many leftovers because everyone ate all their food.Another note on the GF pizza...it was so good you couldnt even tell it was GF...and thats saying a lot...most GF stuff is horrible and I usually just get a stupid salad. Not here...theyve done something stupendous and I wish they would share their recipe with someone on the NC east coast so I dont have to wait a year to have it again! Thank you Antica Forma...my tastebuds and tummy are deliriously happy!
Picture this: its prom night in Vernal. We walk up to the restaurant, and there is a couple dressed for the dance in front of us. While standing there waiting, 8 more couples come up. "Oh, were all together," they say. The wait went from 2-3 minutes to twenty in five seconds flat.We got our table, and ordered. The pizza is excellent, and despite being short-staffed with a new cook on the line, it was pretty quick. We were feeling good. Then Lisa, our server (she might be the manager? I dont knowtold us she appreciated our patience and gave us a German chocolate cake on the house. We didnt ask for it, she just did it. I heard someone else ask for some, and their server told them they had run out, so we might have gotten the last piece. It was delicious. In short, the service was exemplary, the food was great, if I lived closer, I would go here frequently. (Lisa was not wearing a visible name tag, but that was the name on the ticket, so I hope she was the one who got our tip.)
The pictures had us sold! It LOOKS like delicious authentic wood fired oven pizza. It is in fact, super basic pizza masquerading as italian cuisine. This pizza would have tasted better if I picked up a jar of marinara at Smiths and had them use it. I am a marinara sauce fanatic. Theirs was bad. After one disappointing bite of the pizza I went straight for the crust hoping it was as good as it looked... more disappointment.Adding insult to injury, it was very expensive, almost $100 for 2 adults and 2 children under 5.The service was average, we waited for a long time at each phase of the dining. We had just entered when the host returned to the front desk. He answered the phone without greeting us and proceeded to take a to-go order in front of us. I suppose he hadnt been trained to use "hold" on the phone. After we were seated we werent waited on for at least 10 min.I can forgive slow service on a Friday night, or some unmet expectations, but not spending top dollar on below average pizza. Im certainly never coming here again.Im giving it 2 stars only because the ice cream was good, and I got to watch the second half of the Jazz game there.
Disappointing. I was here for dinner last September, and the service was excellent. Sadly the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the mushroom calzone and I was served raw, folded over pizza dough with nothing inside, with some cheese, sauce, and mushrooms on top. The cheesecake was good though. I was told “the cook was new.” I wasn’t even mad, just disappointed. Hope the cook learned how to cook.
Really good pizza and pasta. The only complaint was that my wifes salad had ingredients that she said were not on the menu, and she would not have ordered it if she had known. I guess of you like a little added flair to your order thats a good thing, (I do and enjoyed the salad). Overall I dont know how my experience couldve been better. My wife would probably give it a 4.
We had a Pizza and it was deliciosso! The young waiter did a great job, his only downfall came when he asked if we wanted "any Dessert" and we said "no, unless you have a Cannoli", which he replied "whats a Cannoli", for that response Ill have to change my rating for this fantastic Italian restaurant to a 4.999999.😁 "youngsters, right", to the owners, buy the kid a Cannoli
We came here for dinner, and were blown away. My wife and I havent had pizza this good since we visited Italy, and I never expected to find such great pizza, or the mind-blowing fresh burrata, in Vernal. Everything looked great and the staff were super helpful, and food came out pretty quick and very hot and delicious. I got the pistachio pizza, which I enjoyed, and my wife asked for a bite and ended up eating a whole piece it was so yummy. The burrata was a great starter as well, creamy and delicious. Overall a must eat in Vernal!
The food was great they were very busy right after the parade so the service was a little slow.
They were really busy the night we stopped by but the staff was still very friendly and gave us great pizza recommendations. We were pretty hungry so I didn’t get a pic of the full pizza 😳. This is what’s left of aPistachio pizza and Tri-Fungi pizza? I would highly recommend but get a reservation if you have a group on a weekend. Great food, service, price and local beer.
Wow! Don’t walk, run. Genius Italian pizza. The pistachio!!’ I’ve had Pizza in Naples. I’ve had it in New York. I’ve had it everywhere and there’s nothing that tops Antica Forma. Sadly the Tiramisu is more cream than fingers and not as amazing as the pizza. Skip the gelato. Yes I know you don’t agree but again, if you’ve had real good gelato you’ll know, this is not it. Go for the pizza, and the amazing staff.
Delicious pizza and cooked very quickly. My kid ate it no problem and he only ever eats pepperoni or cheese. Cooked perfectly. We tried the pistachio. I never would have put that on a pizza but it was my absolute favorite there.
I was impressed. The food was all very good. Atmosphere and service were fine. A nice place to visit in Vernal
The food was flavorful and the service was great. We felt it was high prices for what we got. We were disappointed in the cheese bread, but the pizza flavor was excellent. A 12" pizza and four pieces of cheese bread (small poeces. enough for one person, reallywas $28. We got the pizza with the pistachio sauce and sausage. It sounds weird, but the flavor combo was really good!
Thin crust will come with your 12 inch pizza. Its got a very light tomato sauce on it with spread out fresh mozzarella cheese and big chunky toppings. The atmosphere will be quiet with dim lighting and there are some sisters that are waitresses and there is one pizza chef. There is a sign that says the chef is on fire 🔥 but I didnt see any sign of that being true. This restaurant is on the main street right next to the econo lodge. Easy to find and they were not busy on a Friday night at 5:30 when we arrived. When we were leaving at 6:49 there was a bit of a line waiting but only 2 couples waiting.I ordered the ham chicken and jalapeño pizza, I wouldnt order that again. I really liked the homemade pepperoni they put on my friends pizza.Do not pass up the white chocolate cheesecake! It comes with a chocolate crust and raspberry sauce topping.
Outstanding food and service. Pizza is amazing. Deserts, pastas, all is really great. People are friendly and very helpful. I will definitely come back.
The food was so good here! We came really hungry and so we were pleasantly surprised that they had free delicious garlic bread for lunch. The pizzas were super tasty and my kids loved it too!
When looking for food places I was a little discouraged based on the prices and almost didnt come here. Im glad I didnt go with my first instinct. The pizza (meat loversand lasagna are amazing. I was shocked it was out in 10-15 mins. The food was incredible. Well worth the steep price.
I’ve eaten at all the best pizza places in NYC and this is right up there with the best. One of my favorites now. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but one of our favorites is the Pistachio Pizza!
The food is to die for! Other pizzas will never be the same, the crust is light and perfectly fluffy without being too dense or airy. You can definitely tell they use high quality ingredients. The fresh strawberry lemonade is amazing as well!
Wow! This restaurant is far above average and has some of the finest foods we have tried in a while. Their garlic bread was the absolute best we have ever had, and that was served gratis before our meal. The actual entrees were complex and unique. We will recommend our friends and family come to Vernal just to try this restaurant. The fresh peach pie for dessert was perfection. We fed our family of five (three young childrenfor about $80.
The bruschetta was great and the shrimp alfredo was perfect for carb loading the night before a triathlon. For sure come early to beat the rush; and if you can, get a spot at the bar to watch them hand make the pizzas in the fire oven. Very cool. Staff was very attentive and thoughtful even though they got slammed on a Friday night. Owners were kind to give a toddler some dough to play with.
Great pizza, good beer, lovely service.I had the bruschetta and a artichoke pizza (see photos below). This place is so popular that it can be hard to get a seat. I walked up at 7pm on a Saturday, probably the most popular time in a week, and managed to get a seat right away simply by agreeing to sit at the bar which was perfectly comfortable, and you get the entertainment of watching the pizzas getting maid
Delicious flavors! Just came in wanting some pizza and garlic bread ended up with a full pizza, pasta, soup and dessert! Because I just kept wanting more of the amazing flavors! This is an amazing restaurant! Classy for a date or night out but casual enough for just friends. The sevice is excellent as well. Now my favorite Italian restaurant
OK, Im going to attempt an actual foodie review for this one. This place is a bit too fancy for Vernal. I mean that as a compliment to both the restaurant and the town. The place is pretty nice. Atmosphere is a little cold, but sort of authentic to a lot of walk in pizzerias in Italy, wood fired oven, white tile floor, random Gelato cooler near the front door, TVs tuned to sports channels... The pizza is a 9 out of 10. I got one of the specialities with house mozzarella and prosciutto. My only problem with the pizza is that they were a little heavy-handed with the olive oil. The crust was perfect, tomatoes perfect, could have had more garlic and basil to my taste, but I cant complain too bad about that. I asked for "whatever house red they had, a cabernet sauvignon, and ended up with a Ravenswood, which probably wasnt the best pairing for pizza. The Gelato is top notch. I think this place looks like a 4 from the road, cooks food like a 9, and has to charge too much for this small town market just to keep their staff. Granted, I went on a Monday and it was kinda dead, but for take out orders. The staff hustled but they were spread too thin. I hope this place takes off because it should be more trafficked than this. More customers would mean better prices and that would fix a lot. I like seeing places like this succeed.
Better than expected. Visited mid-afternoon and had the place to ourselves. Everything is made fresh to order. Possibly the best pizza Ive ever tasted. Their mozzarella is divine.
