Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens - Tourist attraction in Digby, Canada
My family and I had a excellent time and I would recommend visiting the garden!
Enjoyed exploring these beautiful gardens and forest. Lovely walks wind through the property and showcase the varied plant schemes. Interesting Acadian exhibit/dwelling, gift shop and cafe. It’s very peaceful. Well worth visiting.
We had a beautiful afternoon wandering through all the sections of this incredible garden! Worth every cent of the admission cost.
Such a lovely historical garden and a great place for a stroll.
Absolutely outstanding. Yha rhododendrons are amazing compared to what I grow near Ottawa.
Beautiful place! Definitely a must see. We arrived about 2 hours before high tide and were able to see a drastic difference in the dyke walk viewing area between when we arrived and by the time we left the gardens. That and the lily ponds were my favorite parts :)
Exceptionally well thought out garden designs.......well worth a visit!
Beautiful and peaceful gardens
A nice leisurely walk. Might even get to eat a raspberry or two. I liked the dyke walk as well, which gives it a feel of connection to Acadian history.
Gorgeous gardens with so many different trees, plants , flowers , fruits and vegetables.
This was a recommended attraction and it was very beautiful. It was a very hot day when I visited but there were plenty of places to stop in the shade as well as look at the amazing gardens and the replica house. My favourite was the Victorian garden with its beautiful roses but there was so much more to see. There is also a cafe onsite.
17 acres of splendid! We decided last minute to take a stroll through the gardens and so glad we did! It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon. The gardens are amazing!!
Really beautiful place with lots of beautiful flowers to see!Id recommend to not do the hike trail (I think that is how it is calledas it is just deserted space with honestly nothing to see although theyll tell you otherwise. That is what my whole group of 6 thought
Very beautiful flowers and marshland! The vegetables were also nice to see growing. The staff was helpful with providing a map of the place and suggestions on where to visit in the gardens i.e. which places were most blossomed.
Really love flowers and very impress how many varieties there was
A lovely place to visit. Well manicured gardens spread over a large area.
Beautiful! The flowers are lovely.
wonderful garden clean well kept and well labled
Absolutely stunning. Most plants were labeled, which added to the experience in being able to take in, enjoy, and remember the sights. The artistic birdwatching exhibit was a nice surpise, and we bought a ceramic bird and some flower seeds from the adorable gift shop to commemorate our visit. I could have easily spent the day here enjoying the gardens, but we were just passing through as tourists! Definitely worth seeing!
Best place to visit with Family. Requires minimum 2 hours, total 17 acres of land with different plants, trees, flowers and ponds.
Always great ideas from looking at the gardens at different times of year. Sony unique plants. A pleasant place to eat through on any day with a great little gift shop.
Absolutely gorgeous place, highly recommended going at least once!
My visit came in late spring, so earliest blooms were beginning to fade, while summer flowering plants were barely in bud - even so, I spent several hours wandering the beautiful landscaped grounds, enjoying the plantings. A recent rain magnified all the colours and details and it is very easy to imagine how lush and alive the gardens will be in another two weeks. Beautiful water features add delightful sound to the landscape and are cleverly set to run from one into the next. Surprise garden sculptures feature in unexpected corners. A very wide variety of Nova Scotia themed, sourced or crafted gifts, books, jewellery and more are very tempting in the gift store. Well worth the reasonable admission fee, and I will certainly return in future.
We love going to the Gardens for a beautiful walk. Even in the early spring. Cant wait for the summer blossoms.
This review is based upon a visit shortly before the pandemic, so take it as such. I am not a flowery kind of person and probably would have bypassed the Gardens if on my own. I enjoy trees, mountains and waterfalls quite a bit more. Im not anti flower, but not normally into them either. Thats more my wifes thing. But in this case, one of our group is a landscaper and obviously has an interest in flowers. So we visited the gardens.I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised how much I did enjoy the arrangements and variety of the beautiful plants though out the gardens. I can say that I do plan on bringing the wife to see the beauty when things calm down and we take another trip to Nova Scotia. Well done.
Visited on Oct.3rd/21Lots of plants still blooming. Grounds are very well kept. Staff was friendly (although only seen/interacted with them on arrival and exitingBathrooms were very clean and both are family friendly.Plan on spending at least 2 to 3 hours here.
Loved it. $10 dollar admission price. Wheelchair accessible and beautiful sights. Will go again when the leaves change colour. Short 2 hour drive from Halifax
Beautiful gardens!! Under-rated, definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful history gardens, wish l had taken a lot more pictures, well worth the time!!!
We visited the gardens on a girls weekend trip and we were all blown away. The fee to get in ($10was very well worth the experience. I would pay twice that, seeing how well maintained the property and gardens are. Each team member we ran into had something to teach or share and they were all so lovely. The gardens are absolutely breathtaking. I would drive the 90 mins from home to go again. I learned a lot about how certain vegetables grow (like artichokes and okraand seeing an old thatched roof was pretty neat. Again, I cant get over how beautiful and pristine they are. Please go. You wont regret it.
Amazing peaceful place. The gardens were beautiful and pristine.
Very nice. My wife got a few ideas from the plantings.
Entry fee is well worth it. Both my wife and I enjoy gardening and loved walking around 17acres of beautifully maintained gardens here.
the roses are LOVELY!🤩❤️🌹🌺🌸...COVID-19 note: Please wear face mask, sanitize hands, follow the arrows, social distancing.
A large variety of flora and local fauna for the whole family. So much care and attention to create a beautiful site for visitors.
Beautiful walk, nice quite and relaxing. Lots to see and great little Cafe.
Beautifully maintained and a great way to spend an hour or two strolling the grounds. If you have time great yourself to a spiced strawberry rhubarb popsicle at the Elm Tree Cafe, you won’t be disappointed.
Amazing!!! My photos tell better than me! Check it.
One of the prettiest and most interesting gardens in Nova Scotia. Theres always something to see. And the Victorian garden is a very cheerful delight at this time of year.
Very colorful place. You can spend between hour to 2 during your walking around so many different flowers and plants
This place is absolutely amazing so well-maintained the flowers are beautiful I recommend anybody to visit the area and take a walk around
Beautiful place to go. Nice variety of plants. Friendly staff.
The garden was nice, but there was nothing special. It was like any other nice park with flowers and areas to walk around. Its a nice place to visit in that area to walk and relax, but its not a must see nor special in any way. The waterfront was close by and other things to see in the area.
Very beautiful. Always something different blooming. Perfect place for a walk or to do photography
Absolutely loved the Gardens, visited on a warm day in late August, enjoyed ourselves so much we scrapped plans for going anywhere else on our last vacation day. Spent hours leisurely roaming the paths, listening to birds and relaxing on benches amidst beautiful old trees. The Elm Cafe was a pleasant surprise, with excellent salads and baking done on the spot. On a practical note, washrooms are conveniently placed at the entrance & in the cafe about halfway through the grounds. This place is a treasure.
World class gardens and beautiful sculptures from local artists. Includes exotic and local plants. The rose garden is stunning. Also includes an example of an historical home. They had a scavenger hunt the day we visited, which kept the kids busy. Worth a long visit.
Stunning gardens worth seeing all year long. The plant variety is varied and the garden is filled with a multitude of pathways that take you throughout this well planned and thought out garden. A must see.
Beautiful place, I enjoyed visiting here with my family this summer. I am not much of a garden lover but my mom and grandmother are and they loved it! I still enjoyed the walk and the cafe was nice too. I wouldnt say this was a "cheap" outing but definitely worth it if you enjoy these types of places. Everything was very well maintained and I liked hiw plants were usually labeled for people who dont know anything like me!
We were a bit too early for many blooms but still a lovely walk on a sunny day.
Lovely botanical gardens. Worth a visit when youre in the area. Good place to have a small picnic and take pictures. Be aware of nesting dowitchers though, they might attack ;)
