Seafood, steaks & burgers served in a casual but luxurious wood-dominated space in a historic hotel.
We sat at the bar to order takeout. There were two servers relatively near us. There was no greeting or acknowledgement that we were there. The lady who would end up taking our order walked behind the bar to grab something and walked back out without saying anything to us. I would guess we were there about 5 minutes or so before she gave us menus. We ordered and it was a pretty curt interaction. Once our order was ready she handed us the bill in a way that it felt as though our presence was an annoyance to her. Our order was wrong. We didn’t stick around to get it fixed.I’ve worked in the restaurant business quite a bit. I also worked at Annabelle’s many years ago and I’m a little shocked at the whole thing. I get that sometimes people have a bad day but we were low maintenance and polite.
I was there midday this Sunday and the server/bartender walked away from me to go help two other parties that just walked in right in the middle of a transaction. I had to walk out. I was left with such an awful feeling. Thats really how they like to make people feel? No thank you.
After long emergency duties, it was time to go out for lunch with friends and enjoy nice sea food and walk around in nice community and was happy to sea restaurant with my sisters name and it was actually great the service, staff and great sea food lunch in that Alaska area.
This is one of Joe and Is FAVORITE places in Ketchikan! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS all around!Everyone who works here is just so absolutely enjoyable! They are all so much fun and have the highest quality in customer serice! We LOVE Chris, Michael, Lisa (aka Kim)😉, Brittany, Trish, Doug, Jim and his sister! Now, THE FOOD, YUM! ❤️ We eat a lot of seafood as we live on the island of POW, so when we do go out to eat and order food we get the non-seafood options. This last time at Annabelles Joe ordered the delicious mouth watering BBQ Prime Rib with cheddar cheese on a bun and I had the chicken linguine! Highly recommend both dishes but the bite of the BBQ Prime Rib Joe gave me, has me dreaming about it!! It was absolutely DELICIOUS! 😋The drinks too, are amazing of course! 😁 We love their bloody Marys as they make their own fire water which is spicy! 🔥 But SO good! They also have a great beer selection! ✨
Great restaurant close to the cruise ship pier in Ketchikan. Excellent food and friendly staff
The good was amazing and the staff was so courteous! Clean your plate delicious!
Great chowder - choose the smoked salmon chowder. All are good but it is the best. Rick the bar manager is great.
This place we were told to try by a local. I would have given it four and a half stars just for the amount of time we had to wait however I know they were short-staffed just like any place else is. We were seated by the bartender who was wonderful. Very high energy!! When we ordered our drinks and food which we ordered quickly and together, it did not take long for the food to come out at all and the food was DELICIOUS!!!
Very accommodating for our large group of 18 diners! Lovely atmosphere and server worked hard. Chowder very thick -you could eat it with a fork.
STAY AWAY! We had dinner here since we were staying next door at the Gilmore. The service was terrible, most of the food was terrible, extremely disappointing experience. All of our fish was over cooked, prime rib sandwiches were disgusting, oysters were mediocre, only the coconut prawns were good. Everything also took forever. Cocktails were very sub par. We brought up our concerns to our waiter and he merely said “I’m sorry, do you want me to bring your check?” Please don’t visit here. It’s a cruise trap
Not at all what we expected. It was the definition of “fine”. The salmon stew had 0 salmon flavor and came out closer to a paste than a stew. Potato porridge is likely the best description. Staff was nice but very overwhelmed. Warm, very filling, sub-par flavor. Definitely not worth the price. Would not recommend.
The chowder is so good!! They have a flight you can get with all 3 and they come in a nice size cup. If you want to try multiple things I highly recommend sharing the flight because the chowder is so thick and filling.
Really expensive, but delicious. Their seafood chowder was excellent and had tons of seafood. Wife had the crab cake sandwich which was okay, but not worth $26. The service was really good, though. The poor hostess was also having to do table bussing and handled the lunch rush full of entitled cruise ship passengers like a champ. There were also only two wait staff for the whole place, and they both busted their tails to serve everyone. Great work by all of them.
Fabulous place for lunch. It was crowded but seats at the bar provided us with local beer , a burger, chowder and halibut. Rick, the bartender, made the stop an authentic experience. He is great- pleasant, fast and excellent service and conversation. The burger was fresh. The seafood chowder and Pub Halibut was really good! Not a cheap place but worth it and it is a cruise port afterall, so nothing is cheap. Nice old atmosphere.
Just another Alaskan tourist trap. Pricey, average quality, and slow service. Staff was friendly but the service was slow (although they were somewhat empty).
A local recommended this place as the best fish and chips. The hostess was prompt and friendly. The food took forever to arrive. Fish was so dry and overcooked that I could barely cut it with a knife. Dining companions said the chowder was bland and salty. Every table around us was complaining about the food and service.
Best king crab and chowder. Ales on tap. Great friendly bartender knows how beers.
Big portions, reasonable prizes. Food was very tasty! Staff was friendly and they found us a table when all seemed reserved. Would go again.
Staff members with imperfect work ethics took the day off for the Blueberry Festival but they remaining waitresses did their best (but wait times were brutal). So if you have time, the food is tasty, although we only had beers and appetizers. I had a bowl of the salmon chowder and its probably the thickest chowder Ive ever had, and delicious to boot. This is the self-proclaimed Salmon capital of the world, so I would expect no less!
Great lunch in Ketchikan! It was the one place our tour guide recommended too, and we had already eaten there! Great crab legs and clam chowder.
Great food and service! Came here to try the Alaskan Crab, which was just okay, snow or Dungeness crab is way more flavorful.
Delicious chowder! The prices seemed a bit inflated for the amount of food per dish, but the flavor was top knotch! We definitely left full & satisfied & our waitress was very sweet.
AMAZING experience, the food was very delicious. We tried the Red King Crab, halibut fish and chips and the Cajun crab cakes...one word. Delightful.
Great food and loved the bartender Rick. Experienced the local beer and food. Had a great time on our excursion there. Definitely a place to stop in. They make you feel right at home!
We didn’t have a reservation, but we were seated in less than 3 minutes!Living here for 42+ years, we know we can always count on enjoying our visit to Annabelle’s. Can’t remember ever being served a disappointing meal. Everything on the Menu is good, and this time was no exception. On this visit we enjoyed the wonderful Fettuccini Alfredo with blackened chicken; and Halibut Fish-n-Chips with four huge pieces of halibut breaded nicely and deep-fried to perfection.Annabelle’s Servers are always friendly, polite, and well trainedThey are always willing to take that bit of extra time needed, to describe a dish in detail, and offer meal suggestions. We really liked the new stained-glass pictures you have on display now too.
Good food, crowded bar atmosphere. Staff is nice but very overwhelmed. Big disappointment was no oysters even through advertised. The seafood chowder is a tasty blend of salmon, halibut and scallops. Blackened Halibut was good.
Food was amazing! Service was not the best. He forgot my order and I finally got it after everyone was done eating. Refilled our drinks 1 time. Messed up our checks 2 times and it was our table and 1 other table there.
Great place to stop after walking around, touring the area. Bartender was spectacular, drinks great and the chowder was beyond expectations. So glad we shared the serving, it was huge, generous amounts of fresh seafood and flavorful!
Food is okaish but terrible service. We waited over 30 minutes to get a soup. They didnt bring any spoons. I understand they are short of people because of the quantity of table per waiter but still there is no excuse for bad treatment. So we have to go and pick up napkins for ourselves and the spoons also.Never coming back!
I am being completely honest. Save your money or just buy the king crab legs from Costco. $180 for 3 medium sized legs and 1 small claw. I was so disappointed. If the legs were big, it would be another story. Maybe we chose the wrong place to eat crab legs in Alaska?? Not sure, but Anabelles certainly wouldnt have my vote. Bread was very dry too. My sister said her fish and chips were alright. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Annabelles has always been there and probably always wil be. Its prime location on the waterfront, which means during tourist season its always packed. The menu has shrunk a bit, however all the big hits like smoked salmon chowder and the prime rib are still there. The charbroiled salmon is fantastic. And the Cannery Bread is famous for a reason: its yummy! Theres a full bar and pretty good desserts. Its also a nice place to take a date.
The service here was fantastic! The food was just “meh”. We ordered the halibut and chips which was super overcooked and hard to cut into. We also split the wings…ordered regular franks and they came out spicier than expected and super crunchy…again overcooked. I think their oil may be too hot?! Just a guess. The salmon chowder was fantabulous and we’d definitely recommend!
I had a great lunch of King Crab legs, and the waiter was great to talk with.
Food was very, very good. Salads are huge, and nicely done. Clam chowder was exceptional. Better than Legal Sea Food in Boston, in my opinion. Halibut chips were nicely done. All that is the good news. The bad news is that service, though very friendly and polite, was horribly slow in every way possible. It took forever for every point of contact. 30 minutes to order a drink. 15 more to get it. I loved the chowder even if it was delivered just warm. I didnt want to send it back for fear it would take half an hour to get it back. Fries were old and cold. They were probably good half an hour prior. You get the idea. Its a real shame that the kitchen side of the resturant is so well run but the front side needs a total makeover with regard to service. I would go back but only at off hours and with a different mind set with regard to time.
In town on the Norwegian Jewell and wanted a good tip on dining. A lady at the souvenir shop recommended Annabelles, great tip. We had the fish and chips, halibut. It was so yummy, lightly breaded, great tartar sauce, really good onion rings. You wont go wrong!
Stopped in for a small chowder and beer after a shore excursion and before getting back on board our ship. The clam chowder is second to none. Truly some of the best chowder I have ever had. Nice cold local beer was a treat!
The food is solid, but not spectacular given the cost of it. I understand this is a tourist area in a part of the country that already has higher prices, but we had better meals for cheaper on our cruise in other ports. It was also obvious that tables that are going to be there drinking for several hours receive much better customer service than tables like us and another near us who were just grabbing a quick bite before returning to our ship.If youre getting off the ship to drink for several hours in a local pub then this is probably a great option for you, but you can do better if youre just grabbing a quick bite before moving on to other excursions.
Great seafood super close to the cruise ship ports! The servers were so understaffed but so kind about it and did the best they could. The blackened salmon and chowder sampler were out of this world!
The service was absolutely terrible. The food was cold. $70 for soup, crab cake and and a crab leg and the crab leg was cold and had about 2 ozs of meat. There were some other angry customers as well. I am giving 2 stars because the clam chowder was good. Dont waste your money here..
Exellent burger, service is a bitt slow, because it was very crowdy. Anyway recomandation.
Delicious! Very friendly staff. Best Halibut and chips Ive ever had, boyfriend loved the oysters.
Picture of the receipt for proof. Let it be known that I’ve never done a review good or bad before, but this called for it. I ordered the king crab, which he said they were out of the legs so I’d get pieces, fine. They gave me non king crab and he wanted to argue with me that it was king, so be it. 50% of it was rotten and brown, it smelled so bad my wife couldn’t eat her dinner. When I told the waiter and showed it to him he said oh sorry I’ll lecture the cooks. Gave us our check and that was it. We had other issues with our waiter but I’ll leave it at this.We are world travelers and I have never been served rotten shellfish and made to deal with it.
Had the Smoke Salmon Chowder Bread Bowl and the Halibut Fish and Chips. Outstanding. Chowder was rich and flavorful. Halibut was tender and moist. Not like those in the lower 48 that tend to be good but a little dry. Fun atmosphere is a step back into a prestigious, dark-hardwood walled and floors (with some octagon tiledpast. Beautiful, authentic, wealthy frontier.
Well...we cruised to Ketchikan and someone in a shop told us to stop by Annabelles. Im glad we did. The restaurant portion seemed busy, so we sat at the bar and met the most wonderful bartender (I cant remember her name). Anyway, the Halibut and the breadbowl chowder were excellent! Definitely a must eat at spot!
DELICIOUS food and very friendly staff. The place is beautiful and easy to get to from anywhere in the tourist area of town. Only thing Id suggest is a "please seat yourself" esque sign at the front at the times they want us to seat ourselves, because introverted/socially awkward people like myself may not find that clear and stand around at the front not wanting to overstep. Eventually another patron let me know that I was supposed to seat myself and so I did.
Stopped in for a pint, stayed for the halibut fish & chips! So delicious!! Definitely try them if you go. Nice selection of Alaskan beers and very friendly service - thanks Brittany!! Also came back and sat at the bar, great spot to have a cold one and relax.
The food was good and the service was good. We didnt have to wait for a group of 7 to be seated at 6pm and it seemed like they had a good number of staff to cover all the tables without long waits. We order cider from the bar and it wass a good local cider would definitely have the cider again it was recommended by the waitress. All food came out hot and had good taste and was glad we stopped by. If we come back to the area we would stop again.
Good food, lots of selection. My husband had the Alfredo, kids had Mac and cheese, and I had the pub steak. I wasnt a big fan of all the different sauces, one on my steak, one on my veggies. Mashed potatoes were pretty good. Bread was amazing. As well as the Mac and cheese. Alfredo was ok. Loved the brownie dessert as well. Great service, they cleaned the high chair before we used it which rarely happens. Loved my Caeser salad as well, a real highlight of the meal.
We are currently on an Alaskan Cruise. Today we are in Ketchikan Alaska. After doing the tourist, shopping, we found a restaurant called Annabelle’s Famous Keg & Chowder House. What a find!! I ordered their Famous Annabelle’s Clam Chowder with Sourdough soup bowl. It was awesome....the Sourdough was a little weak on taste, it tasted more like French bread. (I like my sourdough strongbut all in all it was a great place. A little expensive, but everything is expensive in Alaska. If you are ever in Ketchikan, this is a must do!!!!
We ordered the Bake Wild Salmon with a cup of Smoked salmon chowder. The Salmon is baked just right. Service is awesome and friendly!
