Casual, kid-friendly seafood restaurant sporting funky nautical accents & outdoor seating.
We decided to tried a local restaurant and definitely we were lucky coming here.Rich our waitress was great. He recommended the wolffish that was greaaaattt, the sides were really good: smashed potatoes and corn!! Additionally we had a Fettuccini shrimp with Alfredo sauce which was good also.
Our server yesterday was so friendly and attentive. We loved the fish and shrimp dishes. Cooks are very quick, so the food all arrived promptly.
Their service is ALWAYS EXCELLENT and the food is AWESOME!!! It is ALWAYS a fun time there. Go there, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
Great experience, great food and great service. Tyler made me feel at home, made a great recommendation and he didn’t do me no wrong. I’m I coming back, you bet. Also learned the ownership looks after their people and give back to their community. 5 stars baby! Be back soon!
Great place! They have multiple locations, but this one is my favorite. They do get very busy. I would expect a short wait depending on the day. They team works to ensure everyone is taking care of in a timely manner and all guest hVe a great time.
Cool waiter. Got seated right away. Had the Coconut flounder, clam chowder, and my hubby had the Asian stir fry shrimp. We loved it! Plus, they have $3 margaritas after 3 p.m. Nice atmosphere and not noisy! Reasonable prices too. Well be back often.
Very clean very nice very family friendly. We docked right up and since that had a good time. Samantha was awesome. The manger took care of us as well. Deff recommend!!! Amob is a must!!
Wonderful experience! First time there and we’ll definitely be back! Food was cooked perfectly and Mary was the best server we’ve ever had. So kind and attentive! Multiple servers and the manager stopped by our table and many others. Great customer service!
The food was pretty good. We both had some fried fish and fries, so nothing extremely special. The manager went out of his way to welcome us and stopped by a couple of times. We had told them it was our first time, so he even brought us a couple of treats and a coupon. Well try it again and hopefully be a little more adventurous next time!
Great food and service! The staff is always smiling and makes sure you have what you need! Been there several times and will definitely go back!
Interesting decor high end food priced right. Intelligent knowledgeable staff. Only thing I would like to see done better was seating it was cozy.
We had a large group and were able to sit pretty quickly. They have a great special for kids on Wednesday I believe. But the food came out hot and was really good. Our server was very responsive and had an overall great experience.
Definitely the worst seafood Ive had on Floridas gulf coast. Lobster over done and rubbery, scallops sub par and beans and shrimp on par with Nebraska seafood joints. I wish there was a positive I could add, but there simply is not.
The decor at Cortez needs updating, but the staff was very attentive, prices very reasonable in the current Biden economy. This restaurant has much better tasting food than the one on hwy 41-(LandsideHighly recommend this restaurant!
Good food, though Ive never had the oysters at this oyster bar.
Service was excellent. I got the grouper and it was a bit lackluster compared to other places I have had it locally. Conch fritters as an appetizer were good. Wife got the shrimp and grits they were good. My daughter got chicken tenders. They weren’t great, but she was happy with them. Ordered chocolate cake to share. It was ok. Overall, not sure we would eat here again. Wasn’t bad, but didn’t stand out at all.
Great fried fish and onion straws, excellent service
We were at dinner at Anna Maria Oyster Bar last night, on 6/28 around 6/7pm. The menu was a bit disappointing, and one of the Bar tenders didnt serve us! It DEFINITELY felt like there was prejudice there we experienced as she blatantly made sure she looked occupied but looked our way 6 times, we counted!! AND STILL she wouldnt come to us! OVER 20MIN had passed while we waited for our seat to become available. The other server finally came over, she was usually the bartender for the tables, not the bar, we aked, when she saw we were still waiting and after wondering why we werent served yet! So Britney saved our experience some but we wont be back! She was confused and disgusted by the whole thing TOO when we mentioned it to her as she did notice! Im sure its great for some but we will not be back...
Great food and great service. We were seated in less than 5 minutes with a party of 6. The raw oysters were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Always a good choice.
The recent dining experience here was outstanding! Our waiter, Pat, helped me select the daily catch of swordfish and its sides of Teriyaki rice and Polynesian veggies which turned out to be superb as was my wife’s plate of linguini topped with scallops & shrimp. The calamari and accompanying marinara sauce were perfection. Finally, the key lime pie is, by itself, worth the trek form the east side of town.
Waitress was wonderful! Considering she was serving a party of 10 people on Fathers day. She was considerate, courteous, efficient and so pleasant. Food was delicious as usual. It is always clean and well set for customers.
Ordered the full rack of ribs. I must say, these are delish! Perfect amount of sweetness in the sauce, and cooked perfect. Tracy, our waiter, was phenomenal. Personable, easy to talk to and a great personality.
I had the sauted shrimp and scallops. The portion is very small and just taste okay. The fries are soggy but actual have a decent flavor. My wife had the fish and chips. Lightly battered pollock and decent portions. Add salt, lemon and tarter for flavor. My daughter had the mahi tacos. Again just okay. I have had fresh mahi and most restaurants have not done it well ( 4th St Shrimp Store in St Petes has the best mahi sandwich, fresh, tender and flavorful ). Wont be back to Anna Maria Oyster Bar.
This place has been great! Here on vacation and went twice because the atmosphere is unique and fun. Our waitress Mary took great care of us. I look forward to visiting this place again with family.
Mannnnnnnnnnn.....this is the spot for gator bites and fresh oysters how you like ummmm
Great reasonably priced seafood with good portions in a casual environment. Indoor and outdoor dining - they let us bring our dogs on the patio too! The picture is of the trio sample platter - peel and eat shrimp, tuna tataki, and plump raw oysters.
My sister and I were recommended the Oyster Bar by a local. We were told the Grouper fish sandwich was amazing. I ordered it blackened with a side of cheese grits and coleslaw. Probably one of the best fish sandwiches Ive ever had! The coleslaw and cheese grits were outstanding as well. For our appetizers we ordered the gator bites and calamari. They were meaty, breaded nicely and had great flavor. I ordered a Rum Runner for my beverage and it was really tasty! I could only drink one as it was very strong (no complaints! We will definitely be making this a staple in our vacations down to AMI. I gave it 4/5 stars because our waiter was extremely distracted by nonwork things but we had 2 other gentlemen check in on us and help with things we needed.
We have been coming here for years. This place is a staple for food. The food never disappoints. We recommend them to friends and family every year anytime they come. We also come here yearly ourselves. Overall, stellar food and atmosphere!
Always one of my favorite places - the amazing Anna Maria’s in Cortez. Great staff, amazing oysters and tonite mouth watering blackened salmon. I am a registered Medicare Agent and I recommend this location - you won’t be disappointed! Find me at: TheMedicareAgent(dot)US
What a great time! Alex, our wonderful server, was a pure delight. We started with a mixed dozen of oysters; raw, tequila lime, grandmas spicy Chipotle and Rockefeller. Hard to pick the winner but when the raw knocks your socks off,the rest have a great start! The crispy portobello were next and they exceeded my expectations. The horseradish sauce was truly the icing on the cake! We had to ha e a cup of lobster bisque and it was creamy, sweet lobster flavor and a delicate finish. Real flavor and low salt made this extra special. The Grouper Sandwich was the best I have had in the past 2 years. Its starts with fresh local Grouper and it was treated with the respect it deserved. Blackened flavor was beautiful and the fish was a perfect doneness to preserve the moisture. Wow.My bottom line, we have found the complete package. Great food, great people, great quality and great value for the money.Oh, by the way, they say its the best Key Lime Pie in Florida...they are not lying. Tart and sweet and rich and creamy. Outstanding.Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!!!
Great food and wonderful service, will definitely be visiting again
I enjoyed the Happy Hour drink special and Tyler made me a great martini! Thanks Tyler!👌🍸🍸Then...the Tuesday lobster special! 👌🦞🦞You just cant go wrong! Great food! Great service! Incredible value! Love you guys!👍(The specials will save you money! Ask!!!$$$)
Great experience and service. Get all the Oyster options. Grandma Georgies Chipotle Oysters are FIRE. Their raw oysters are plump. Parmesan Oysters are amazing. Others- Tuna Stack was refreshing. Jalapeno Blitz was unique.
The absolute best oysters I’ve ever had! And that’s says a lot because oysters are my favorite meal. The Georgies oysters are perfection. This place is reasonably priced and the food is some of the best you’ll ever have. Everything is flavorful and perfectly cooked. You can tell that the chef is committed to putting out amazing food. It’s the only place we want to eat!
We enjoyed everything! Enjoyable ambience. Ribs are fantastic fall off the bone! Kids had fish tacos and a cheeseburger and ate all of it which generally means a superior product. Since we are on vacation my wife was only drinking for dinner,😀 she said the Margarita was great and the Jalapeño Blitz was delectable!!!All around great time. It was pretty busy 6:30pm on a Sunday and we still had great service. The Key Lime pie was scrumptious!! They claim it’s the best in the state but everyone knows that Perpa’s mom made the best KeyLime pie in Florida!! Fried cheesecake with ice cream was out of this world!Definitely worth checking out!
Overall the food at Anna Maria Oyster bar was less than average. The bright spot to our meal was the coconut shrimp and the hush puppies. The popcorn shrimp was a little soggy and tasted like it wasn’t very fresh. The blackened grouper sandwich was quite soggy and hard to eat. The clam strips were decent but salty. Kim, the waitress was very nice.Overall, a subpar dining experience.
After hearing all the positive reviews we finally tried the Ana Marie oyster bar. I don’t know what went wrong but hands down the most disappointing seafood meal I have ever had.The oysters were bland and tasteless, no brine or saltiness at all. I literally SALTED the oysters to finish them. The broiled shrimp scallops were overpriced for the portion, and overcooked to a fault. We half joked about them running to golden coral to pick up our meal.We ordered vegetables as the side, cauliflower & broccoli (or a type of brocolini). Boiled to mush the way grandma used to make. Seriously you did not need teeth to eat them. After spending over $60 on this meal, our excitement for a good seafood dinner quickly turned to disappointment.
This was definitely the right choice to eat. The food was delicious. We ordered the fish and chips, Rockefeller oysters. The oysters were amazing. The server Tammy was very kind and happy so We appreciate the work she did.
This may be our favorite restaurant that weve ate at on Anna Maria Island! I had the oyster stew and I make it fresh to order. I would highly recommend it!! And then I had a half a dozen oysters 3 Rockefeller & 3 tequila lime oh my goodness they are killer! My son got fish and chips with coleslaw The fish was cooked perfect to a golden brown! And the tartar sauce is made homemade! I will definitely be back!
All you can eat fish for under $13 was a great price, but rather bland fish. Chicken Oscar was good, the crab and Hollandaise sauce on top was very good. Catfish was very good. Clam chowder soup is very thin, not what you expect from a chowder. Was tasty, just very runny. Everything was overall pretty good. Our party of 8 left full and mostly satisfied. It was nice to see what we assumed was a manager, walking around asking tables how everything tasted and making sure our experience was a good one. Service was wonderful as far as our waitress. She was very nice. The greeting at the door by the hostess was less desirable to start.
As vacationers it’s always hard to find gems like this! Oftentimes the restaurants that others rave about are nothing extraordinary, but this place is seriously awesome. Both the service and the food were incredible. The oysters were a generous size. As a seafood restaurant, I didn’t expect the ribs to be outstanding, but they were! And the cake was yummy too! If you’re in town as a tourist, definitely try them out.
The wait and serving staff were courteous and friendly. Food quality was impeccable and fresh. We had oysters all different kinds and salmon was delicious. Wednesday Salmon special is a hit.Definitely #1 fan, dined there 4 days in a week. Every visit is a great dining experience.
The food and service was AMAZING Lynn was so sweet and knowledgeable about the oysters she really mad our first experience enjoyable and we will definitely be back😊
Me and my boyfriend went for oysters and cocktails and ended up getting the tuna stack and Alfredo. Everything was so good! The service was amazing as usual and the oysters were so tasty. The garlic parm oysters were our favorite out of everything! The Alfredo tasted like box Alfredo but it was a huge portion with two garlic bread and served in a neat way!
Everything was absolutely excellent, And I dont say that easily as Im quite the harsh food critic. In the pictures you see Tequila Lime Fried Oysters (and yes, they are as good as they soundFried Calamari (perfectly crispy, tender with a great homemade marinara, and Conch Fritters. And for dessert you see Coconut Creme Pie, and Key Lime Pie (just about the BEST Ive ever had, and Ive had a LOT!)The only thing that needed work is the service, and maybe the atmosphere. The inside looked less like a badass seafood joint and more of a 30 year old Long John Silvers located in the heart of some senior living facility.
Sat outside, and had the salmon in puff pastry with hollandaise sauce and fish n chips. Both were outstanding. Add garlic mash potatoes to complete. The fish Was so good ,that we actually ordered another piece, crispy, flaky and not greasy! Ask for Lynn, probably one of the best servers in Bradenton!
Wow! I cant say enough great things about this place! The two hostess that greeted us were awsome! Our waitress Rochelle was very sociable (ask for her by nameand accommodating! Personality plus! She (the restauranteven had my drink of choice, B&B on the rocks! 75% or better restaurants dont even have this in the stock.. Anyway, the presentation on the food by Francisco was too notch! Everybody was smiling and seemed to be happy to be there!!! Thanks for a great and lovely evening dinner out!
This local seafood favorite has fun beachy decor. Delicious blackened grouper sandwich and Oysters Rockefeller. Good Covid precautions and our server Paige was very nice.
Wow! Our first visit wont be our last. Outstanding food and superior service from Sylvia! We had grouper and Amberjack specials, and I had to have my oysters of course. Desserts will blow your mind!
Exceptional quality food at reasonable prices in a warm and inviting atmosphere. After living here for 6 years, I finally tried this restaurant as was very pleased. The staff were very friendly and the manager stopped to talk to us several times. The Prime Rib was so good that we got a second order to take home with us.I was very happy to buy the Margaritas that were on special, as $2.50 from each drink was donated to help clean up the local waters.I highly recommend this restaurant.
