Anna - Kosher restaurant in Jerusalem, Israel
Great food! The waiters are youngens who grew up in troubled families who are learning to maintain a job and give good service. My experience was great.
After pretty hit or miss meals our first three days in Jerusalem, Anna was like manna from heaven. First off, our waitress Yasmin was simply delightful. Even if the food hadnt been wonderful, her infectious personality would have made the meal enjoyable. But the food was wonderful! We started with the focaccia with feta - not to be missed - and the stracciatella di bufala, which was also outstanding. For mains, we had the mushroom linguine and the salmon ragu. Both were delicious. I would like to say dessert was amazing but we were too full to try any. Overall, it was hands down our best meal of the trip. Highly recommended.
Great dairy restaurant. Excellent service
Had a great meal, but we didn’t book in advance and sat at the bar. Had a great meal and the bar staff were excellent. Highly recommend.
Excellent spot! Delicious food. Bar tenders were professional and attentive. We are thrilled to have chosen this spot to eat dinner at. Highly recommend.
I wanted very much to write an exclaiming review. After all its not a regular restaurant. It is a social project that train and educate youngster of a poor background and equip them with a profession for life. As much as i wanted to praise this institution, i couldnt lie to myself. The food was poor by all means not to mention a restaurant that pretend to be a a chef restaurant. The dishes were tasteless. We needed to add a doze of salt to feel some flavor. It seemed like an amateur place rather than a professional one. The waitress really tried hard to please us. Unfortunately, not much to do when the basic food doesnt meet the expected standards. I really hope that this was nothing but an occasional event that doesnt represent the restaurant s normal conduct. I do hopd that this place will succeed. However, this is a call for attention as our experience was really disappointing
We had a delightful experience at Anna. The starter options were fantastic - simple, perfect temperature, crispy, flavorful - and came out fast, too. The mains were delicious and light, and cooked to perfection. The ambiance is perfect for a quiet evening out - we sat on the balcony, and enjoyed the warmth and charm. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we’ve experience the best customer service in Israel here. Cannot recommend enough!
The food is incredible, the dishes are beautiful abd the atmosphere is really really nice. Its a little expensive, especially if youre into fish, but I think its worth it. Try the gnocchi and the lemon desert.
Fantastic dairy restaurant hidden on top of the Ticho House. There seating available both indoor and outdoor. There are a couple of rooms available for private events. Delicious menu, worthwhile making a reservation, can be busy.
Best breakfast in town!Anna is my personal favorite place for breakfast in Jerusalem, they are about 10% more pricey than the average cost for a breakfast meal, but 500% better in taste and atmosphere (sit on the balcony if the weather is good).
Fresh fish expertly prepared with marvelous apps. We had the most marvelous eggplant as first. Service and cleanliness impeccable.
Very interesting vegetarian fare. Loved the food here.
City center located Italian restaurant. A very popular place so you need to make a reservation in advance. Food is delicious, especially gnocchi, fish appetizers, salads. Everything if fresh and beautifully decorated. Tiramisu is absolutely amazing!A little pricey. Service is very friendly and polite.
This is a very nice place. The whole idea of supporting people with difficulties while the food itself is super tasty (and dairy kosher if this is what you are looking foris really great. It is a bit expensive thought
Lovely restaurant, great service and tasty food.Highly recommend the Focaccia, Sea Fish Crudo & Burro Di Limone are very good.
amazing.. in every way. tasty, service
Nice restaurant, the place and wine list are great the food was good but not quite what you see on the manu. For instance, the pasta was supposed to be a light spicy sauce but instead was just a simple heavy tomato sauce.
100% Israeli 50% Italian. Very loud, tasty enough, unresasonably high priced, lacks refinement and some final special touch. The dishes are well prepared and well served but far from unforgettable.Historical ceiling is beautiful but creates too good acoustic for the restaurant. Your neighbors chats are deafening.
Quaint restaurant with Beautiful outdoor seating. Small menu but the food is good. It’s inside a museum which is cool to explore as well.
Very disappointing, food OK but nothing extravagant.Very slow service with 6 in kitchen, 7 waiters and very few occupied table. It took forever to get the food. Also the price is incredibly high for such basic dishes. Will not come back
Quite good, but overrated. Its difficult to say exactly whats wrong. I think they are just not generous. The Anna Breakfast for Two was not particularly good. But it obviously includes two coffees. It is normal to charge more for a larger coffee, but to insist on doing so even though the second person didnt want his coffee at all leaves a bad feeling. The waiter said "it doesnt work that way". On another visit, the salmon was tasty but ridiculously small. The waitress said she was sure that was the standard size and the chef must have known what he was doing. Cant they be more graceful?
Service is high class.Location is very good.Food was great.A bit expensive but not more then any restaurant in that level. The Nioki was great and the rum cocktail was good
Good food great service! However a bit disappointed by the overall quality of the food. The focaccia is too oily, the parmesan is a bit on the cheap side, the pasta is far from Al dente, the caccio peppe is below average (not creamy, over cooked, under cheesed), etc. However, its still a good place. The worst is that when we were there there was a celebration outside with a small band and the music was so loud we couldnt hear ourselves. Spoiled the whole thing
One of the best restaurants in Israel. Very good and professional service, romantic atmosphere and very tasty food.
The restaurant located above small museum, so you can have 30-40 minutes tour (no entrance fee). The restaurant located in the center of the city in small and quite street. If you arrive during Apr-Oct, ask for a table in the terrace to enjoy great Jerusalem weather during the evening. The interior and very nice and cozy, outstanding service and delicious food. To my mind this restaurant easily leads the TOP5 place to visit in Jerusalem ! Highly recommended.
This is a highly reviewed Kosher Italian restaurant. Set in the second floor of a beautiful old building with a small museum at the first floor so you can combine some art and cultural experience to the eating and drinking. There is an honest attempt to serve a better then usual Italian- Mediterranean food but when we visited we were impressed with the look of the dish and less so with the taste. What made the experience uncomfortable was the acoustics, noise was bouncing off the walls in such a way that we could hear people in other tables talking is a cacophony.
Very professional staff, a fairly short menu, which specializes only in Italian cuisine. Beautiful setting in the heart of Jerusalem, however very quiet and nice. Biting prices, but its worth it, in my opinion.
Beautiful restaurant - especially at the terrace if weather allows.Italian food is good but BREAKFAST is GREAT!
a great restaurant. We came in for breakfast. The location is pretty and comfortable. Small breakfast menu with some interesting dishesVery good food and excellent service
Good food
Amazing food. Wonderful waiter. They had a few mix-ups and delays with food - but compensated us.One thing that was rather upsetting - we made reservations ahead of time, which they called to confirm the morning of. But opon arriving tried seating us in a completely different area ( clearly the only table leftand tried telling me they had called to let me know that we would have to take a different table. I had no missed calls. Was wierd. Was debating if to leave - but was then offered a bar table.Happy we stayed
I have mixed feelings about sharing this spot because it is my favorite place in Jerusalem. Courtyard, garden, ancient shade trees, museum, art gallery and gourmet restaurant inside of a home built in 1860 and restored through the ages with love and an artists eye. Eat indoors or outside on the balcony and give yourself time to take in the fresh, flavorful, and innovative food coming from this talented kitchen as well as the gallery and garden afterwards. Pay parking lot nearby. Enjoy!
Very relaxing atmosphere, especially on the balcony.Having breakfast on the balcony is probably one of the top things to do in Jerusalem! The service is very pleasant and professional.Pastas, cheese, salads, pastries - you cant go wrong here.A true Jerusalem gem!
Disappointing visit to what should have been a great restaurant. We came in for breakfast. The location is pretty and comfortable. Small breakfast menu with some interesting dishes. Prices are extremely high for simple items such as poached eggs and omelettes. To charge over 40 NIS for yogurt and muesli is unjustified. We ordered the poached eggs that came in a watery state and with no bread or anything similar to help eat the watery eggs. Very unpleasant dish and our plates were returned half full. The pizza we had was average and the service was unprofessional especially for such an expensive restaurant that aims to be high end. Disappointing and I will not return to this place.
Central placed cosy and silent restraint, warm athmosphere, nice summer terrace, tasty foods, friendly stuff. Placed in historical house of famous israely painter Anna Tihos family. There is Anna Tihos free entrance museum on the first floor of the building. Highly recomended.
Excellent food and decor. Pleasant knowledgeable stuff. Asked about the exact status of the Kashrus of the Grana Padano cheese and the waitress rang up the Mashgiach (Kashrus Officer). If you want to have what you cannot get at home then dine here. Downside, wine list is pricey but extraordinarily broad for a dairy restaurant.Enjoy, enjoy, enjoyMake sure to book a table in advance
Had a breakfast here. The food is good, feels fresh. It may not be to everyones taste, but I found it refreshing. Only thing to note - they do seem to be using a bit much olive oil on some dishes.
Beautiful decor, fantastic food, and super service. Really a gem. They learned that my fiance and I were celebrating our engagement and went above and beyond to make our special day feel a little more special. Highly recommended. Pizza is a must-have even if just for an appetizer. Tortuffo was rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
I ate only breakfast here. It was a tasty combination between Israeli breakfast and Italian first courses and starters. The dinner options are supposed to be good, too. The service was good and it is also a social business employing people with special needs.
This is seriously one of the best restaurants in Jerusalem. We had amazing pastas pizzas salads and also a few smaller dishes suck as zukini. Wow!
The food is excellent - fresh and well prepared. We ate pasta with fish, fish with risotto, and gnocchi. The service is also exceptional - attentive but not overbearing. Highly recommended.
Oh you gross and tasteless developers - hang your heads in shame for destroying Annas tranquil haven. The food is terrific, as is the smiling and welcoming service. But the lovely house and garden -- gone gone. Anna, I weep.
Great place, recommended to us by several people for good reason. For visitors to Jerusalem, you need to go into the Ticho House and it is on the second floor.
Aabsolutely perfect.Delicious and neat, big portions lovely service.
Great location, fantastic looking and tasting food. Great attention to detail and excellent service.
Wonderful attention to detail with great food and service. Came for breakfast which was a tasty mix of cheeses and dips, toasted focaccias and well done eggs.Definitely coming back for lunch/dinner.
Small menu with great attention to details. The food is excellent and service is friendly without being pushy. I love the fact you can carry a conversation undisturbed. Good cocktails and desserts.
Tiny tiny dishes. Extremely noisy. Good food though...
A hidden Gem... very special atmosphere, excellent food and friendly staff
used to be if you wanted to eat at a kosher restaurant in jerusalem, youd have to ready yourself for the worst. in the past couple of years, "due to popular demand", there have been more and more institutions facing this challenge, of which anna is a prime example. the fact that it is kosher is irrelevant. this is a good restaurant, serving a delicious fish and pasta based menu, with little pretention and a lot of heart, with a nice winelist to go along. the place itself is beautiful and the service is good. theres also a private room for whatever. highly recommended. the missing star is for the acoustics, but if you dont mind a bit of noise with your meal youll be fine.
