Anjanaas in Jalalabad

Fabulous South Indian food in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. As a Coeliac its great - the menu is marked, but I could have eaten most things. The dosa had semolina in but had I asked it sounded like they could have been made Gluten free too. We will definitely be back!

Amazing staff, very friendly and very attentive to all the needs of all diners. However I hate the fact they dont have some foods not available during the day such as naan, thali and tandoori chicken

They DON’T serve Thalis for lunch. What a sick joke. I got told off by the waiter that they don’t make thalis during lunch time because they close sooner at 2:30 ish. Bleugh. Thalis are mostly consumed as lunch by Indians

This was first name which popped up for good Kerala food in London. It was worth the visit. We had kanthari meen as starters,main course appam and parotta, anjaanas fish curry and beef ularthiyathu. Food was amazing and reminded us of back home. We were really missing good Kerala food. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone to have good Kerala food.

It’s not easy to come across Indian restaurants in London that serve authentic Indian food. I was very impressed by the quality of food at Anjanaas! Great service and ambiance too. Will definitely be back very soon

The sadya was excellent - beautiful food, each of the dishes was extraordinary. It was a perfect balance between taste and richness, although we ate to our hearts content, it felt like home cooked meal. The staff were very kind to accommodate us without a bookingThe meal itself was very hearty and Authentic. I’d be very happy to go there again next year with a larger group. Service was also of good quality. The seating inside is a bit congested and can take improvement in aesthetics and decor. It’s a great place to go in if food is priority. Not the best fit for a long evening. I’d highly recommend them for a special occasion though.

Hands down the best sadya away from home. Had to book a table in prior but definitely worth it. The staff were welcoming and friendly with good portion of everything. Would come here back to try other dishes from their menu.

Had the onam sadya, the food was good but the service was poor. Very disorganised service. Initially they just came to the table and hit the banana leaf with a small spoon of different things and wouldnt even say what it was and walked off. I had to ask the server before he served the dal on the rice. Just feel like hitting the banana leaf and dumping food is not a way a customer would like to be treated. We are paying for the food so some decent service wouldve been nice. The food was overall was good but the price did not match the experience.

This is one of my favourite go to places for authentic mallu food. Service is great and food is amazing. The Onam sadhya this time was super delicious. We had a great time here.

Went here for Onam. The Sadhya was absolutely exquisite. The variety on the banana leaf was amazing. The people were friendly.Although, i am just not sure if it warranted £26 for one leaf of Sadhya. Id have definitely given it a 5 Star if the Sadhya costed anywhere between £15 and £18.With more inflation coming, I dont see the rates going lower but the taste and service is good enough to come here once in a while.

I order from here regularly, the appams and Kerala fish curry are excellent. Note: The 5 stars are for the authenticity of the home delivered food. Always polite on the phone when Ive ordered. I haven’t visited the restaurant in person.

Yummy South Indian food. Especially Dosa.Don’t miss this!!! This is by far the best south Indian restaurant I’ve come across in London. Less known to people.

The food is delicious but they have missed my order again. I’m a regular customer n upon calling n telling them, the guy on the phone lectured me like he’s my boss, stating that I shouldn’t have reviewed online. And I should have called before (which I did but he had made up his mind). Somehow I feel blamed of doing something wrong when it was I who paid for orders I didn’t get. (I don’t write negative reviews but when you have a handful of authentic restaurants, I don’t know how to keep it better.)

Awesome food with real mallu taste. (I wish I knew what chilly they are using in the curries).Had porotta - was very soft and fluffy; Beef dry fry - was a bit sour (I guess it it cow meat, and not buffalobut otherwise crispy and fried good; chicken curry - another excellent item.Staff was friendly. Washrooms were clean. Was a bit pricey. Good ambience. However, not very quiet. They charged 10% service charge. Not sure if it is normal/legal in UK though.Had to travel for an hour to reach there. No regrets.

We went for lunch at this place...its on a side road to Kilburn Road. Serves south indian food though many dishes were non vegetarian options.We did find some paneer dishes for ourselves and puri to go with it. Food was good and fresh..though we has to wait for some 15 mi uses for rhe food to come. We had lassi and lemonade to go with the lunch...in all good experience

I went here for my birthday in July. Took them over 30 mins to get are drinks to the table and a further 15 mins for starters. They even messed up the order and forgot one of the starters.The food is nothing special. The lamb stated on the menu is mutton!! I wish they just said that on the menu and stop pretending it is lamb. Also the Mutton was not soft and chewy.After the mains, I ordered a desert for my son (ice-creamand we had to ask twice. It took so long that my son did not want it when it came (25mins laterand we all just wanted to leave!Would not go back here!! Really wanted this place to be good.If you want long wait times and below average Indian food then this is the place to go to!

South Indian restaurant/ KeralanAbout 15 minutes walk from willesden green or kilburn. Went there for parotta and beef fry. Very authentic flavours. Friendly staff. Other seafood dishes were ordered and was excellent. Typical home style flavours. They are opening one branch in Maidstone soon. Parking is available on weekends along the road. Other days it is paid parking. Quiet place. Very good ambience. Loved it.

We received a warm welcome on reaching Anjanaas, the staff are really really friendly and the food is delicious. We have been to many other Indian restaurants in London but Anjanaas food is tastier and affordable. We will surely visit Anjanaas on our next trip to London.

Delicious Kerala food, Biju and team did the catering for our daughter’s first holy communion. Excellent service and delicious food. Mutton stew and beef fry are my favourite. Highly recommended

Went on the eve of Ramzan to celebrate with my partner, the food was decent, but the service was pathetic. Its not because of the waiters, but the way they were understaffed. Had to wait for something as basic as an Appam for one hour. Pointless!! The waiters tried to be as sympathetic to our growling bellies. The management needs to hire more people to run it better.

Irritation to the core by the way they handled my online order via just eat app for Parotta as no curries were ordered along with! Order was made 9pm on 5th May 2022 and they accepted the order and cancelled it after 10 minutes.We called up the restaurant and they told at 9:15 pm that they cancels orders religiously everyday just to make sure that the people should eat a curry or a side dish along with main course! They are so concerned with the eating habits of people 😀😀😀They have a funny rule in London, you should order a side dish is a must along with main course😀😀😀If it’s that you shouldn’t have taken that order. Taking the order and cancelling it is never acceptable.

Amazing food and service at the Anjanaas. We took our Japanese friend there for dinner along with me n my husband and it was really good. Great ambience and friendly staff.. Good South indian food.. Would totally recommend them..

Delicious South Indian meal that tastes incredible.Thé food almost felt home cooked .Loved the simplicity and authenticity of the coastal flavours.Beef ularthu is my fav and I order it everytime .I would recommend you to dine in if you want to eat Dosas . The sambar was delicious too . The appams and Malabar parathas were perfectly soft.Highly recommend Anjanaas for a tasty South Indian meal .

As usual, excellent vishu sadhya. Probably the best authentic mallu food in london. Great chef, owners and team.I see some negative comments from diners who havent a clue about kerala or what kerala food should look like or taste like. They expect poppodoms and mango chutney everywhere they go. To all those reviewers, please do travel to kerala and bengal before reviewing indian food.

We were seated promptly also our drinks order taken quickly, my husband ordered a Cobra, then he was informed that they do not have any more, that was not a problem as he ordered another larger, i had water as i like to taste my meal. Waiter then came to take our order- Poppadoms with pickles and chutney, also our main meal order was taken, Chicken Tikka Masala, as there was no Lamb Madaras on the menu my husband asked if one could be made for him which the waiter agreed, we proceed to order pilau rice (pulaoalso chips to which the waiter said chips? I then said fries? Waiter said we dont do chips, also we order two Garlic nanns. The waiter then read our order back to us, we both confirmed our order. After waiting nearly 20 minutes for our Poppadoms to arrive the waiter came along with two dinner plates and placed them in front of us. We both said to each other that restaurant normal bring small side plates for Poppadoms! A waiter then arrived with our meals. I informed him that we had ordered Poppadoms to start with. He then placed the dishes down in front of us speaking while setting each dish down -Chicken Tikka Makhani, I quickly said that I order a Chicken Tikka Masala, the waiter continued to set the rest of the dishes down Lamb Madaras, pilau rice and garlic nann. My husband informed the waiter that we had ordered Poppadoms he walked away and arrived a minute later with some Poppadoms placed them on the table and said no charge and then walked away. My CTM was tasteless watery and did not even have Chicken Tikka pieces in it. The meat in the LM was as tough as leather. Sorry but the customer service from this restaurant was poor the food was hard to enjoy as it was tasteless. I dont know how this place as got a 4.6 ??? I would not recommend and I most definitely would not visit again. We paid our bill and left....

Anjanaas never disappoints. Have been ordering takeaway from them since I discovered them on UberEats last year and have been very loyal ever since. I went to dine-in for the first time and the staff were attentive and very friendly, the music added great atmosphere as well. As a vegetarian, I love all of their veg dishes as the flavours and portions are great. The mango juice was also one of the best mango juices I’ve had in my life. I always recommend this lovely restaurant to friends & family :)

Very authentic Kerala cuisine. Had 2 experiences over the last couple of weeks - while one was to satisfy my native mallu food cravings, especially traditional non-veg fare, the other was with my wifes vegetarian family exploring their veg options. Both were totally delightful and happy to have found this so close to home too.Edit 22Aug2021: Anjanaa’s continues to stay consistent and give an authentic taste of Kerala. The Onam Sadya took me back to my malayalee roots,and so did the fantastic service and hospitality. Home away from home.

Extra ordinary onam sadhya meal in London.Its a must visit, nice people serving with full heart a wonderfully cooked aunthentic meal.

Was blessed to get a reservation for Onam Sadhya and the food was worth being almost hungry for the whole day. Ate on a banana leaf after such a long time. And the server was kind to introduce us to each food item that was placed on our leaves. I have forgotten most names but I will always remember the feeling for years to come. The feeling of getting high on all veg food. The feeling of nostalgia of being in Fort, Bombay from years before.I needed to take a break from eating to type this because I almost full and satisfied but theres more on my plate and in my heart.The unlimited buffet was a treat on an auspicious day like today. I dont think I can walk. Will definitely be coming here to sample their other items soon.For the amount of papad that we asked for, I only hope they let us in again.

Very nice South Indian food, one of best malabar food we had in a very long time. Now we come here every week. Lamb curry is the best.

Good South Indian restaurant. We missed having filter coffee in there, just a suggestion to include filter coffee and sweet appam in your menu. Masala dosa and wada were nice, even thali had so many dishes, all with typical South Indian taste with coconut in it. Must try Kerala paratha here...

The place is nice, warm and cosy. The waiter is very friendly and attentive. We were here to have dinner with our friends that originally came from Kerala. The food was a bit disappointing for all of us, we have asked to reduce the level of spicy. But the flavours seem to been compromised. Compare to the Kerala restaurant that we been before in the East, this isn’t worth for us to come back again. Even those the spicy level is reduced, the flavour of the food shouldn’t be a blend. Everything we ordered apart from the paratha, aubergines and the prawns were pretty blended. Shame that I been looking forward very much to try the Kerala food at Anjanaas.I did raised this to the waiter’s attention tho but in his defended this was due to reduced level of spices. For me, that doesn’t make any sense. Compare to the Indian food we had before with a reduced spicy level, the flavour wasn’t compromised. Maybe it’s one-time thing is off or maybe the chef is incapable to make tasty curries while the spicy is reduced.Ps the cut for the beef fry, maybe consider a different mix of the cut? So its not overly too dry.

Popped in with a friend for lunch today and it was excellent. Starters of fried fish and prawns were good, main courses of beef and this duck curry (picturedwere really tasty. Lemon rice and light as air bread to accompany as well.

Fantastic curry and even better service. Anjanaas fish curry was great, so was the Chicken Tikka Madala, garlic naan was wonderful too. Highly recommended.

Really yummy and authentic south Indian cuisine on a quiet street in Kilburn. I did not expect to find such delicious dosas here so it was a pleasant surprise! The service is friendly and the prices are very reasonable, its worth the trek to Kilburn for the food! We did not make any reservations and were able to be seated quite quickly.

The Onam Sadhya (new year lunchis spectacular. Truly spectacular... I havent had such great keralite food outside of gods own country in a very long time. The quality of the food was excellent, a great ensemble of dishes exquisitely brought together to offer an immense gastronomic satisfaction. We dine here once a month or so and the food is always good, but the onam Sadhya is spectacular. Do try , available 26 and 27th August 2018 (vegetarian only and for lunch)

Thats some seriously good food. We got Lamb biryani, garlic naan bread, chicken curry with plain rice and a dish with aubergine and creamy peanut sauce and for dessert ice cream Malai kulfi. Everything was freshly cooked and delicious! The staff were very polite and with a smile on their face! Relaxing Indian music in the background and a very welcoming environment! We could even make the spiciness in our dishes milder which is a plus! Well back for more!

Specialising in South Indian cuisine, this restaurant took me by complete surprise with their more than perfect customer service. The waiter went to great lengths to recommend something for our tastes, and ensured the rest of the night was splendid.The food was fantastic and more than enough to satisfy my craving to explore Indian cuisine in London. I would highly recommend a night here. Try to avoid peak hours to enjoy a more relaxed evening as it can get busy.
