Anja Community Reserve - Tourist attraction in Fianarantsoa, Madagascar
Credo ci siano solo lemuri catta, bellissimi!!!
Besides the spectacular panoramic scenery of towering mountains, this is probably the best place to spot the Ring-Tailed Lemurs. If youve watched the movie Madagascar, youre about to spot a lot of king Juliens. The lemurs are casually jumping from tree to tree, free to go wherever they want. These were some of my favourite lemurs to find as theyre very playful. I saw a lot of baby lemurs as well.We also spotted some chameleons. I really enjoyed this location!
Wonderful little dry forest. The legend says that a good share of the guides is made of former zebus muggers. We got a female guide which we appreciate because it is less common in this country. The fauna is abundant although not diversified. Yet youll see the highest lemurs concentration of the whole island. One specie only, but you can see up to 50 of them, which we did. They literally hung out with us when we stayed for a while in the same place waiting. Our guide was patient and didnt rush us to keep walking. I took films and dozens of pictures and she was just waiting for us. Sometimes guides are in a hurry and wanna end the tour quickly so we enjoyed the slow pace. She also advised us to take mosquito repellent. Being that verbally preventive doesnt happen much here. People living and working here will understand. The view spots are breathtaking and worth climbing. We did the longest tour, it cost MGA 100.000 for 2 strangers. There are toilets and a little place to eat for MGA 5 000.We visited during the afternoon.I would absolutely recommend it.
Superb place to check out. You get very close with nature and wild animals. Stunning view at the top of the hill. Talented and friendly park guide.
Well worth a visit and spending time looking around.Unspoilt maintained with nature in mind.Opportunity to see a number of animals/insects
Great place to visit, especially for those who want close interaction with lemurs🙂
Definitely worth a stop. We went in for an hour and saw a whole lot of lemurs, a snake, chameleons and more.
Meraviglioso! Lemuri Catta a bizzeffe e camaleonti. Un paradiso per gli amanti dei lemuri!
Stunning place!The lemurs are cute!
We took the short tour, seen many ring tail lemurs and chameleons very close. Very satisfying.
We had an extraordinary experience with Ring-tailed Lemurs at Anja Park. They came so close and it was wonderful to see the family groups. Some mothers had babies less than a week old. We were heartened to see about 60 local men walking through with their tools to create a fire break so that this special place will stay protected.
Cute lemurs and pretty landscape. But 90k for 2 people for 1h15 hike is a not reasonable. Skip it and go to the next park. It will be better value for money.
Liked much better than ramanafana. And cheaper. And better type of lemurs. And lemurs are way closer to you. And guides are way better.
Nice a close to Limas.
Nice park
Nice placeVisit early about 7 am if you want to see many lemurs
Nice opportunity to see up close ring tail lemurs!!Nice trekking to get on top of huge rocks to have a nice view of the valley. A must!!
Lugar fantástico para ver lemures.
Amazing
This is a small lemur reserve operated by the local community. Locals are employed as guides and trackers. Funds earned from visitors are used to benefit and expand the reserve and also an emergency fund for the local community. The reserve harbors a large number of lemurs, chameleons and birds. A visit here helps support the wildlife and the local community. Highly recommend.
Nice place for a short stop
Nice landscape, and Maki.
Really relaxing place, I would really enjoy to stay there for more than one day
Great locally supported national park. There is no feeding wildlife here, which is great to see! All guide and entry prices displayed at park entrance.
Easy photography of ring tailed lemurs
Tons of free ranging lemurs
Small and perhaps out the way but would really recommend. Interesting, rocky scenery and ring tailed lemurs up very close
The park and guide are quite good. The food was untasty for me and others from my group. The souvenir shop is not rich of choice. There is not wifi - wlan connection.
You could see Ring Tailed Lemurs here in plenty. It is a private park.
Very nice pleace one of the best in Madagaskar
One of my favorite places in Madagascar. The park is breathtaking, the guides are knowledgeable, and the park fees are going towards supporting a great cause. Anja Community Reserve gives back to the people in their community in many different ways. The local school was built by the park and park fees pay for the teachers salaries. They teach locals about the importance of protecting the environment. All around an amazing place
Small private reserve managed by the local community. They have a lot of ringtail lemurs here so you are guaranteed to see them. Our guide told us that early mornings are the best time to see them on the ground but by 11:00 they were chilling in the trees.Pack a lunch, because the food served on site is not appetizing and overpriced.
I was able to see lemurs and their babies during my visit on November 1st. The forest smells really good too.
