Prince Leopold's English-style gardens, built in 1893, with a naturalistic wild animal attraction.
Lovely animal park with a great restaurant. Great for long walks and friendly animals.
A nice somewhat smaller zoo, with a petting zoo and nice enclosures for the animals.
Een park waar jong en oud zich kan vermaken!(Translated by Google)Lovely walk through the park...The kids did a good job on the walk. Whats great is that when they dont want to pet or watch animals for a while, they can enjoy themselves very well on various play equipment ... The large fish, and roaming donkeys and goats remain a favorite ... A park where young and old can enjoy themselves entertain!
Make sure to bring some euro coins if you want to buy animal food from the dispensers.
Great park where you can see a lot of animals in their normal habitat.Only a pitty that you could not buy any drinks or food when we visited.
Its a good size zoo with decent variation. A lot of trees and no concrete/stone walkways (all gravelexcept for one area around a little snack hut.The animal habitats are nice and open so no lions behind glass or anything like that. Only downside to this is the animals have plenty of space to hide so you might not get to see everything. There could be a bit more places to get some food or a drink since there is 1 spot near the entrance that is not part of the zoo itself, then the little snack hut and I think a restaurant across it (closed when we were there), this means everything is at the entrance so no drinks or anything at the other side of the park.
It is hard to find animals in big aviaries
Beautiful place and cute animals!
Top👍👍👍👍👍
Super
Loved the animals. We werent offered a map so be sure to ask for one if you go.
Probably the best zoo/wild park I have ever visited. The wild park is very large with a lot of different animals. I would even recommend going there for a walk. It is located in the woods and there are many paths you can take. Plus you get to look at adorable animals.Even though we went in the winter, a lot of animals could be seen outside of their closure. Those that preferred to keep warm were sleeping inside. However, unlike a lot of zoos, you can see inside all the enclosures. It was adorable watching the sleepy foxes and raccoons all cuddles up.All the enclosures are very large and natural. Most of the time it is just a caged off area in the woods. Both the wolves and otters had the longest enclosure I have ever seen. This zoo is very friendly and takes good care of the animals. The only hurt animal we noticed was one of the wolves, who seemingly got bitten by one of its mates. But the wound seemed very fresh, so I think/hope they took care of it and it still had to heal. The staff was very friendly and the ticket is totally worth the price!Good to know: 1. you can not bring a dog with you. It says so clearly on the site but I saw a lot of complaints in the reviews about this. 2. When we visited in december the food hut was not opened. 3. There is a lot of parking space.
Wonderful animal park located in a gorgeous outdoor forest and lake setting. I found this park definitely better than the Natur zoo Rheine or the Outdoor Wildgehege in Saerbaeck. They also have a huge playground and multiple petting zoo inclosures. Also, the restaurant and Cafe was great.
Fantastic animal park. Donkeys are too smart however, for the food vending machines to be inside the cage with them. Use the ones by the dwarf goats instead.
Super
Amazing place for the price animals look wel taken care of.
few animals. but high price. not worth for the price.

This is not a regular zoo, understand that before you go. Its a forrest with European animals. The animals have big enclosures so there is a smaller change to see the animals. Mostly at the end of the route it gets better. Its a park for real animal enthusiast. Not for the regular guest.
Great place to see European wildlife. However, some animals were missing.
Great place to spend with the kids.Despite that the park place has some issues.... is a great placeI think it would be helpful to mark out the park places, where it is possible (i think in P2 you can not do itand like this people should use one single park place instead of 2 for one car...(this is the reply of your question). There is place for all there like this... i think...

Interesting animal park. It is a shame that the bears were moved when I visited. The nature and scenery is very relaxing
I came to see the recued bears, but they were not there. I guess those things happen. I did not like some animals being alone, like the owl and the cat. Or in small locations. But i am not a fan of animals in cages anyway.
- Great park to go to.- The more open fencing allows photographers to take pictures without the fence in the way. (The lens of my camera almost fits in between some of the fences and when zoomed in, doesnt show the fence)- Unfortunately not all animals were in the open to be seen by visitors, but you cant do a lot about that.- The restaurant is and looks great.- Its nice that some employees speak Dutch.(When visiting keep in mind that you will walk alot)
Lovely
Amazing
Great place to spend a day with your children and family. Big territory, fresh air and its always quite here even when there are a lot of visitors. We enjoyed watching the bears and wild cats feeding. In the chalet at the lake we had a very nice lunch with quick service and friendly personnel. The only disadvantage - you cant pay with a card and need to pay cash everywhere, so make sure you have cash. And there is a nice playground for children where they can relax after a long walk through the park.We will come again soon!
Loved this place. Nice animal collection, lots of paths to walk around. Good facilities. Children play area is nice, petting zoo has good collection of animals and a lot of space. Didnt try the restaurant , we had food with us which we enjoyed on a good patch of grass near the lake. Overall a fun day with kids.
A lovely place to spend an afternoon on the Germany Netherlands border. We have driven past on our way to the Rotterdam Europort and never stopped, but now we definitely want to go back.
Nice variety of animals for the cheap entry price
Terrific place. Small but beautiful zoo/park.Definitely worth visiting and not what you expect. Important: only cash in whole the park.

Big park, big area but few animals.
I love this park. Its unlike most zoos in the The Nethlands. This biotoppark features lovely big surroundings for animals and its all set in a beautiful old park. I like that this park only features animals from Europe. So dont go in expecting tigers, lions or giraffes. In this park youll meet animals like lynx, deer, owls and wolves (the wolf pack is awesome!). Other things you should know: the toilets arent great, but this park costs max. 7euros per person and its usually much much more quiet than other zoos. And a few last tips: come early if you want to see animals like the wolves. Also the enclosures are great for photography!
