If you are looking for a big steak, this is the place to go. Our experience was ok but it wasnt memorable. The steak was well cooked and the servers did as good as they could. I recommend you not to be seated by the rear window where drunk people wait for their burgers from The White Lady, it may be entertaining, but not ideal for a romantic dinner out.
Upon arrival the place was super busy and hard to move around in as it is quite small.We had a party of 10 and the service was abit slow at the start took approx 20min to bring out first order of drinks but once the food started arriving the service speed started to pick up.The staff were excellent very friendly and had great customer service skills.The food was good all round it could do with more options fpr the starters but the mains were great if your not a big eater then I would recommend the scotch fillet.Booking is essential as this place is very popular we went on a Thursday night and it was full for over 4 hours

The place I visit when I lack testosterone. I highly recommend this place when you crave meat, no funny stuff just pure top quality meat. No where else does it with passion like this spot! Highly recommended if you appreciate a good steak!

Delicious! Was referred to this restaurant by my Airbnb host and Iβm so grateful! Steaks are DELICIOUS but hands down, their Beef Dip (aka French Dipsandwich is the BEST! Staff is friendly & kind - highly recommend if you are in Auckland!

Got there without a booking and we underestimated how busy it would be but we were so hyped up, we were happy to wait 20 minutes.The cooking itself is a show, so fascinating to see how the chef cooks everything and he can remember which is rare, which is medium etc.The portions are big! No miserable little piece of steak at all. At least 500gm guaranteed. The sides are just as delicious. Husband swears by the jacket potato, I am in love with the CafΓ© de Paris Butter!Kids can go there, but its only worth it if they have a big appetite. You dont want to pay $26 for them to take one bite and shrug the old _"Im full"_ #murderThis is a place to save. Our regret is to not have visited this place before. Its lively, full of people, good music and the chef is a side show all along. Absolutely fantastic!

Food and service was great and lovely atmosphere. A little tight in the area between the cooker and front entrance but managed well by their staff. My lamb rack cooked just how I like it. Our whole group of 30 loved their meals. Overall lovely experience.
Walked in off the street.Extremely busy.Fantastic young waiter asked us to wait @15 mins and he would find us a table.True to his word 15 mins later we were seated with drinks and menu.Absolutely amazing meal.Quite expensive but for a special night out totally worth it.Really cool to be able to watch the chef cook up a storm in the open kitchen.Highly reccomend and will definately be back.Best to make a reservation though.
It was our first dinner date out in over two years since our son was bornβ¦ tonight we braved it and the staff couldnβt have been more accommodating! The meals were delicious, even our son enjoyed the steak and ice cream and heβs certainly no fan of that at home so thatβs a 12/10 from us! Disgusting service. We waited 1.5 hours before the food arrived making it 9pm. The meals arrived in pieces. We had two steaks arrive getting cold on the table then we had to ask 10 minutes later where the ssauce was for the steak and the side salads and the other peoples food. Over all it took nearly 30 minutes before all the food was on the table.The steak is 50 dollars then they charge you for a suace for the steak and any sides more money. For 50 dollsrs you would expect at least a free sauce for your steak.Instead we got steak that wasnt cooked well, paid for unseasoned chips, they forgot my paid for sauce so they chucked some rubbish red wine mix together that was just horrible.Truly one of the worst experiences eating out we have had. We took friends from Hawkesbay here because we have been here before and last time we loved it. This time was hugely disappointed
Had the t-bone was ok.. some of it was raw at the thicker end so couldnt eat it. it needs to be the same thickness all the way through to cook even..What i was disappointed in was the service, no one came to see how our meal was, no water at all on our table but other tables all had water. asked for extra salt but gave me that rock salt that really doesnt do anything as it doesnt dissolve, normal table salt would have been fine. I would have asked for an extra side, but cause no one came to our table i didnt bother. Young staff working there so seems like they dont care, mushrooms and peppercorns sauce was good.
Service is 5 stars for being accomodating to a casual diner with no reservation. The ambiance is amazing with a great vibe to it.The steak I had was a T-bone steak cooked medium rare. It was served on a sizzling plate and the smell of it was amazing.As I took my first bite, it was juicy and tender but disappointingly bland. The steak didt have a crust on it and I could hardly taste any seasoning nor smell other aromatics.For other customers to enjoy, I suggest having a garlic butter added and butter-baste the steak yourself before you eat it. Will I come back? Yes but not anytime soon
Absolutely delicious. I went with a party of 20 and the staff were super lovely and accommodating. All our steaks were cooked to perfection how we asked and came out almost at the same time. A lovely vibe will absolutely be going again!
Absolutely amazing experience for our first time visit. Me and my husband went for our anniversary dinner and it was perfect. Amazing customer service great food. Chef John did an amazing job with making our steak and lamb just like we asked for. Highly recommend this place staff are very welcoming and friendly.
We had the most amazing experience from the moment we set foot in the door, we were greeted by the Chef/ lovely owner at the grill in our own language and then the wider staff team. We felt like we were being welcomed into their home, the food was devine, we had the sirloin and t-bone, the steaks cooked to perfection. The experience of picking out our own steak in the kitchen was a experience in itself. Our sides were just as good especially the salad. After flying for more than a day, I wanted a good meal. I just happened to find this restaurant and it was the best find. The steaks were juicy and tender. The service was quick and the staff were kind and happy. I highly recommend this place.
Great place for steak! Server had character and almost misunderstood she had attitudes toward us but I think it was her character and she was kind.

Waited for 3 hours for our food to be served. People came after us got food before us. One chef cooking steak for such full house restaurant. Rump was so hard, kids steak was so dry, eye fillet was the best out of all but still not worth 3 hours wait. Wonβt come again.
Angus Steak house never disappoints. One of my favorite places for when I am craving a good steak. Went for the 500g Sirloin this time with creamed mushrooms and fries. Everything was really good and delicious.

Ive been to this establishment many times over the years and my father attended its original opening in Albert St. Its always served top notch food albeit at a top notch price.That said, Ive never yet had a disappointing visit.This particular instance I had a Sirloin cooked in Garlic whilst my partner had an Eye Fillet plus we shared some grilled onions & some grilled mushrooms.As always excellent. No hesitation whatsoever recommending the place.
Great steakhouse with lovely and friendly staff. We had the calamari as a starter and that was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My steak was cooked well and seasoned nicely too. Overall, a great experience if youre looking to enjoy a good chunk of meat :)

The staffs are friendly and the stakes were pretty good. You can ask them to have your pieces cut the way you like on requests.
A zero carb dream come true! Fantastic meat, also chesse and eggs are standard side options. You get to choose your meat from a cabinet and determine exactly what you want. Amazing and simple food cooked so perfectly. I cant wait to go back with the kids too. So good!
This place is terrific. The experience starts with you deciding what cut you want, once selected you have the option to come down and select your specific piece. The chef then cooks that to your liking. It comes out on a hot stone and is cooked to perfection. The eye filet and rack of lamb were amazing. They have a good selection of drinks, sides and deserts. I had the chocolate mudcake and it was to die for! I would strongly recommend you try this place. They know their meat!!
The steak is slightly overcooked on the outside. Oysters taste a bit fishy. Salad was nice.

Always love coming to the Angus Steak House. Decided to come for Lunch with the wife and baby, High chair is available for babies. Service is always excellent and the steak is always cooked to perfection. Been coming here for a steak fix for over 15 years and itβs always what you would expect. Supporting local and keep the business going. The place is always clean and the knife for cutting steak is easy slide cut. Will be back soon. Friday 25th Sept.
I was craving a good steak for a while and I couldnt be more happy about my choice. The meat was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of garlic on top. There was a great salad buffet included in the price with so many choices. The steak is served on a hot iron plate which I found to be a very nice touch. I am a slow eater myself and this way the steak dont get cold half way through... The pavlova dessert was amazing too. Excellent service by the way. I will definitely be back when in Auckland again. Thank you very much for the amazing lunch!
Not my kind of food. I dont prefer eating such big chunk of meat with no spices on it. But for others it might work, You select the raw piece you want to eat and they cook it fresh, and that too lamb in NewZealand I heard its good. Friendly staff. Limited space for seating. No parking nearby. Overall its ok.
Nothing too fancy really. Over $40 you can one piece of steak you choose and a salad bar. You cant say the salad bar is buffet as there will be lots people ahead of you so you will lose the patience. It is ok, but not really worth the money. Also you will be charged if you want mushroom or other things on your steak which is a bit rip off. All addons cost money.
Saturday steak night with my friends! All salad you can eat with $16. We ordered T-bone, Eye fillet, Sirlon and lamb rack. I like lamb rack the most which is tender and savory. Really enjoyed the sound of meat sizzling. π
The portion of steak is huge, perhaps a little too much for women to finish one whole steak. Note that you cannot share a steak with someone. The free salad bar is okay only, not really great choices. If you are meat lovers you will love this place.
Steaks are big, juicy and cooked to order. They are severed on a hot steel plate though which is not good as it does not allow the meat to properly rest and the steaks continue to cook whilst at the table. Also it really heats you up during your meal. Its unique but Id prefer my steak on a warmed plate as opposed to a hot skillet. Salad bar is basic, but honestly who comes here for the salad. Mushrooms and onions cooked to perfection. Steaks seasoned nicely.
