Angrypig Birretta e Porchetta in Vatican City

We needed lunch after a long day at the Vatican Museums and this place was perfect. Very friendly guy manning the counter and the sandwiches (and beer+winewere amazing.

I have had a lot of porchetta in the last couple of months. This was hands down my favorite. Guido, the owner, was very hospitable and even gave me a whole piece of dried sausage after contemplating ordering another sandwich. A short walk from the Vatican museum, makes this place a great visit for a quick bite before or after visiting. Thank you Guido.

Amazing porchetta! We all had the spicy spread (I believe the #5), and it was mouthwatering! The owner was very friendly! Truly a small typical Roman eatery with fantastic food, very reasonable prices and loved the personal touch with notes and drawings from customers from all over the world adorning the walls! I will be back every time I am in Rome!

Stopped by here after visiting the Vatican Museum and was in my happy place. Great porchetta, great staff, wish I could’ve spent the rest of my afternoon here eating, drinking, and chatting. Will make sure to visit again when Im back, highly recommend!!

Amazing hole in the wall by our Airbnb. The owner is super friendly and generous. Tried samples of a few things he had. Sandwiches are generous portions for the price. Will definitely go back when I’m in Rome again.

This place is simply amazing. Cute little shop for fine local beers and wines. And of course to represent the local cuisine showing the meat and cheese culture of the region. You can get here tasty sandwiches, finger plates and of course some wellmade drinks to clean your throat. Seagulls are often around and very funny how much they are friendly. And the owner...such a friendly and funny guy. Hes always keen on entertainment and to make you feel happy. As happy as your stomach😀

Came by this place to check it out after all the good reviews. I never usually leave a review but this place truly deserves it. The porchetta sandwiches are juice and crispy and the charcuterie board had an amazing selection of Italian meats. The owner is super friendly exactly like all the other reviews have mentioned. Really makes you feel welcomed. I hope the owner sees this and keeps up the passion! From Canada with love.

Great Porchetta. Much better than the meh one that I had in Florence a while back. I had number 5 on the menu which has some heat to it as well as dried tomatoes. Not that busy but dont let that deter you.

The owners are very sweet. Nice local feel. 3 minutes from the Vatican. Sandwiches Are good but I wouldnt say out of this world. Nice place to go to get a sandwich quickly for a very reasonable price. We also had a glass of red wine and beer. Both were very good. Highly recommend.

The owner made my sandwich and it clearly shows that he loves what he does. Hes super nice too, he slyly gave us meat samples to try. I ordered the porchetta sandwich with greens and sun dried dried tomatoes and it was so good I ordered a second one. Pairs well with beer! Highly recommend.

This place is so good. If you want a good porchetta, come here. A sandwich is 5 euro. The owner is great. Its a really nice quiet shop with a hidden gem of a sandwich behind the counter.

This hog is the boss! Best porchetta we had in Italy. The owner is super friendly and even gave my wife a big piece of crunchy skin "for the road". If you are near by, do go. Oh and it is super cheap. Two can eat and drink for less than €20.

Amazing pork combo sandwich! We tried another few with just lighter meats, but it was not nearly as good as combo #3, which is inclusive of the pork. The prices are very reasonable and they have a very wide selection of wine/beer.If I lived in Italy, I would totally go to this spot again and frequently.

After a false start at another restaurant, Google lead me here. The reviews are spot on. This is some of the best pork Ive had in my life.The place is small and the owners are very patient and understanding even with a language barrier. Thankfully with the help of Spanish we were able to learn a bit about each sandwich, the ingredients, and the shop.The food was outstanding. The pork was fall off the bone soft and juicy and the skin was crunchy. We had the sun-dried tomatoes, and a second eggplant porchetta sandwich. It was the perfect blend of spices in a bread that has the hard crunch on the outside and softer inside. It was so good we had to take more for a later dinner. The spicy number 6 and a broccoli toped one. Perfect again, even after the hotel microwave.I love food and this is certainly a love at first bite scenario. The atmosphere is cool and the food and price is outstanding. You cant beat a top sandwich for about 6 euros. Plus they put on cooking show clips while we were there, and I can never argue with someone who is surrounded by food and still wants even more. These guys love food and it shows in the sandwich.

Found this on the map before I left home, spent my entire trip looking forward to it. I was not disappointed. Had a ham and provolone sandwich with my mother and daughter. It was fantastic from the first bite to the last.
