Family-run eatery serves diner-style breakfasts & light lunch, plus bread baked daily in-house.
Got the breakfast combo with “French toast.” French toast looked terrible, had eggs caked on it and could only eat half of my meal.
Awesome place. Had Corned beef hash, two eggs over easy with a side of Hollandaise sauce and homemade bread.
Good breakfast spot. The hot chocolate was honestly one of if not the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had.
Wonderful. Im an hour away and had a 2 hour delay at the hospital so it was close. I was a regular in the late 70s as a student. Been 40 years since my last visit and its as good as I remember. Sat at the bar so I saw everything pushed out the window to the tables. It all looked as good as my heuvos ranchero.Better still was the tag team that served me. "Served" is wrong. It was more like they invited me over for breakfast at their place. Thanks again. Cant wait to have to run back to the hospital again.
Our food was prepared in no time but sat on the pass while 2 waitresses were complaining about table arrangements, then our waiter joined them as our hot food sat, he finally served our breakfast letting us know our toast would be ready in a few minutes. Once again our hot toast sat on the pass behind the 3 servers, until I brought it to our waiter s attention the toast was ready. The food was not worth the atmosphere.
The food is great, the place is great; however, waitress I had, not so great.Ive never had someone have the audacity to drop off my food, and while doing it tell me to I pay and fill out the check while Im eating. Ive also never before had someone then have the audacity ask if they can fill out the tip for me.You just dropped off my food. I want to eat, not worry about filling out the check. Its also just fairly rude to rush someone. Lastly, its awfully pushy and presumptive to both indicate a specific tip for yourself and ask to fill it out yourself. Maybe you need the tips that bad, which is why I still left a generous tip; but, I really shouldnt have.I hope I get someone else next time, so that I may enjoy my food without feeling rushed.
Make sure you come here with an appetite, because all I ordered was the banana walnut pancakes and a glass of milk….and I barely finished the pancakes because they were so big. 🤤
Amazing breakfast. The homemade bread is gorgeous. And the quantity is ridiculous! I had the cheddar broccoli omlette and my friend had the raspberry, chocolate chip pancakes. Highly recommend. The perfect diner with friendly staff.
I had such a high expectations for this restaurant since it was fully packed when I got there. The staff are nice so I thought I would enjoy this place. I ordered smoked salmon omelette w/ raisin bread, a strawberry waffle and a ‘freshly squeezed’ OJ. The bread crust is burnt and hard like a rock. The omelette only has salmon but nothing else so it almost tastes like pan fry egg with salt. The OJ tastes like tropicana (not bad but it’s NOT freshly squeezed like it says on the menu). We later saw a fridge where they store all the drinks next to the coffee area, so we know where the OJ comes from. For the strawberry waffle, the strawberries are black and pinkish, definitely not a fresh or healthy look.I would not return or recommend this restaurant. It’s much worst than ihop or Danny’s.
I went there for a month while I was kinda doing summer stats school. Smoked salmon Benedict is my favorite there
We stopped on our way to wander Ann Arbor, and we are so glad we did. Food was great and service was friendly. We would 100% go again.
Awesome food! Had breakfast here a couple of times and always great. Coffee is good. And their homemade rasin bread is spectacular.
Very busy when we went (11am on Sunday)! (25 minute wait). No problem.... once we were seated we were off to the races. Our table ordered a variety of lunch and breakfast items. The wow factor meal was the deep fried French toast, although the portobello benedict was a close second. Fresh juice was good. The corned beef hash said it was made in house but didnt really seem like it, unfortunately. Overall, we would go back. There is inside and outside seating.
Spent nearly $50 on breakfast for 2 (because my husband had to try the deep fried French toast. It was just okay. Rye bread was great but Im told that was not made in house.
My favorite place in Ann Arbor for breakfast but French toast needed more soaking. Service was great tho.
Price is decent for the amount of food you get. But not sure what’s the hype. We ordered steak and eggs- what’s the point of asking how we’d like our steak when my husband and I were served very very well done steaks. It was hard to eat it. The potatoes were flavorless. The bread (supposed to be homemadewere too stale. They might as well get bread from Kroger. It took forever for the waitstaff to get our orders cos they were busy chitchatting about their favorite shows. We ordered a side of bacon, didn’t get it and they charged us for it. Good thing I double checked the bill.
Best raisin toast and corned beef hash in town! The eggs benedict in any combination are always a favorite too...try the florentine or smoked salmon! If youre looking for good old American... order the Angelos special breakfast! Add some freshly squeezed OJ to the mix! This place is a local favorite, especially packed in football weekends!
Fries were huge n good except the salt part. Crab cakes were average. Omelette was again average. Burger was good
An iconic Ann Arbor Restaurant! The food is good and very plentiful servings! Come with your appetite and be sure to get the homemade bread.
Spectacular breakfast in Ann Arbor, next to the medical complex. Service is quick and efficient, the food outstanding (amazing fresh baked bread, expertly prepared french toast and eggs, and much more), plus the coffee is very tasty (not too bitter and no acidity). Highly recommended.
It was honestly okay…Biscuits and Gravy in Canton has better food quality, quantity and service! Our food was good, I really loved their bread in the egg florentine dish! They also had parking spaces which was nice…
Food was very bland absolutely no flavor. Service was great and the fruit bowl was well worth it.Deep fried French toast lacked flavor and the crab cake Benny just was not it. They are friend not fresh crab cakes. Stopped here while traveling wouldn’t come back.
We got the chance to visit Angelos and had the most wonderful breakfast. Staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was incredible. I got the cheddar broccoli omelette with their homemade white toast and a side of sausage.
A cozy little place tucked into a corner of Ann Arbor. The menu is filled with sense great breakfast and lunch options, always made fresh. My husband enjoyed a roast beef sandwich, stacked high on homemade bread. The raspberry chocolate chip pancakes tasted like having dessert for a meal. They are quick, efficient, and friendly. We very much enjoyed.
Awesome food. Found in the heart of U of M and super close to my cancer Doc. Homemade breads were part of our breakfasts. The staff fast and on the spot that we didnt have to ask for anything but our order. The menu had so many items besides breakfast. Great place for students, University staff, and visitors alike. We loved the atmosphere of Angelos. We well be back.
Quick in and out, locals seem to know place which is good sign. Portions large coffee smooth. Brisk business tables turned over every time someone got up. Worth the trip, parking not the best and not exactly wheelchair friendly, but doable for a very comfy meal. Also homemade bread which we did not get due to schedule but many others left with a loaf
Had the eggs Florentine which was excellent. Hollandaise was amazing. Service was super friendly and a diner atmosphere... What more can you want. Oh and fresh bread to go!
The food was ok, very average. The service on the other hand was questionable. The woman who served us was very very nice, but the other woman who showed us our table was incredibly unpleasant. Even since the beginning, as soon as we walked in, no hello, no smile, simply took the menus and told us to follow. Then, during our meal, as we were taking a group photo, she stomped over, grabbed my friends wrist and used FORCE to tilt the phone down because she was slightly visible in the photo, and grabbed the phone out of her hand and demanded that we delete them. Now that, I understand, but really? Using physical force on a customer? I don’t think that was necessary. Just asking us to delete the photo would’ve been enough. A few minutes later, as my friend was simply looking through her photo album, she returned to our table and in an incredibly demanding and unpleasant tone asked if she was in any of them and if she was, she would have to “snatch that phone away”. For the rest of our meal, she stood at the counter and stared in our direction. 1using force against a customer 2taking the phone out of their hand unprovoked 3threatening to confiscate said phone for no valid reason 4continuing to harass us even after she made sure the photos were deleted…what kind of treatment is that? For this reason only, I will not be returning. Learn to handle your situations better, please. This isn’t kindergarten.
Good customer service. Not so great food. Ordered Spinach Feta Omelette and Deep fried french toast. The waitress messed up my ordered but was generous enough to give a birthday discount. French toast lacked flavor. Bread was thick and i wouldn’t go back again.
Of all the Ann Arbor eateries I miss most, Angelos will always make the list, and will always be my breakfast king. Solid menu, reasonable prices, good serving sizes, good customer service, and several of the best breakfasts Id had in Ann Arbor. Im not even a pancake guy but I still havent forgotten their chocolate-raspberry seasonal pancakes.
Decent size diner in Ann Arbor. Food was delicious. Parking was a little tight but construction was happening next door. We only had breakfast but Im sure other items are just as good. Stop in and enjoy a tasty breakfast before heading to the game. Go Blue!!
Great little place to eat. The food came out hot and fast. Diner style breakfast joint. Parking is hard to find but dont let that determine if you eat here! We will definitely be back in the future. We were just here for a couple of days and this was worth the stop.
Small and bustling! Got in on a game day morning for breakfast. Seated quickly, food was timely and the service was good.I recommend their fresh orange juice. I had the deep fried raisin bread French toast, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a filling meal!
Awesome breakfast. Huevo Ranchero s breakfast. Great service
Love this place for breakfast. Nice and close to work. Service is quick and the food is great! I love their omelets especially make your own because you can pick 4 items which is a really good deal. Portion sizes are good, come hungry! Staff are friendly and I havent been for lunch, but I would put money on it that its just as good as breakfast! You can dine in or get food to go so you have options.
Oh my!!! This wasnt just a grilled cheese, it was one of the best Ive ever had! Fresh tomatoes, sundried tomato pesto, topped with gooey mozzarella! The steak fries were amazing too!!! Only thing I could suggest is sit inside if youre looking for quiet time, the outdoor area is on a busy street, and rather loud.
We stopped here while traveling to attend a wedding and it was delicious! Our server, Nicole, was very nice. The raisin bread French toast was sooo good!
Angelo’s is a wholesome family owned venue. Waiters have been there for years and the food has always been satisfying. This was Oct. 2020 before second shutdown. Prayers for all during this pandemic. Full menu and always fair portions and prices. I hope Angelo’s has curbside pickup as well as a delivery service. I recommend Angelo’s.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. We do not get to come here as often as I like since we live 45 mins North, but this place is a staple and outright the greatest breakfast joint by far. Deep Fried french toast....amazing. Make sure you have it with there homemade raisin bread, you will not he disappointed. Eggs are cooked to perfection and so are the potatoes. If you are looking for a modern looking place, this isnt for you. This place has that old swag which is the best. No need to update when its already perfect.
Beautiful atmosphere great food great service
Was here years ago and I remember it as better. Bad coffee. The hollandaise seemed off and the portobello tasted of an unclean grill. Service was fine. Didn’t do anything to elevate the experience.
Great Ann Arbor breakfast spot. This one of our spots if we are in Ann Arbor around breakfast. My daughter and I had no problem getting a table early on a (non-footballSaturday, but it was already getting busy. Be warned if you are coming at a popular time. The portions are on the larger side, and the price is higher than an average diner. But, the food is much better. Homemade bread. Warm syrup. Huge pancakes.I had the Eggs Benedict - Angelos gives it a little twist to make it their own.The atmosphere and service are great.
You might have a little wait, but it is definitely worth it. The staff is kind and fast, and you dont have to wait long for your food or drink either. I recommend trying the eggs benedict!
I had heard good things about this place. I went on Sunday and waited 15 minutes to be seated, which I thought was justified. Ordered eggs Benedict and was disappointed. There was too much bread which was hard and the sauce seemed artificial, tasteless. The green pepper was raw, which made it also lack flavor. Will try once more, maybe this dish is not their specialty. Service was ok, given that it was crowded.
Went to Angelos for breakfast on mothers day morning. Didnt have a long wait (15 mins). Food was amazing- had mothers day special (bananas fosters French toastand egg plate. Large portions and my coffee cup was never empty. The staff was super helpful, even gave us tips on where to buy a bicycle in the area. We sat in the smaller side portion of the restaurant and it had a beautiful arched wooden ceiling and windows overlooking the city. Overall very impressed and will definitely be back!
Mostly a sandwich joint. Reminds me of one of my favorite diners in Virginia. I had the grilled pastrami and my wife has the Reuben. Huge servings. Good service.
Really really good food here. Will be back to explore the menu.Edit: back again and this visit was just as good as the last. Fries were cooked crispy, burger was cooked to perfection. This place certainly is on point. Best breakfast spot around.
wait staff was attentive and friendly, even though the place was PACKED. April made some really solid recommendations on the menu and we were served some hot and very delicious breakfast within 20 minutes.id like to note that we (party of 2were at our table within 10 minutes even though there seemed to be zero available seating. great first impression of Angelos!
Hearty breakfast portions for a fair price. The staff is super friendly and their menu offers many classics, like OJ, eggs benedict and French toast. Expect a wait at pretty much all times of the day
The Deep Fried French Toast is very delicious and the atmosphere is cozy in some areas of the restaurant. If you dont like open concept you will want to sit in the booth because seating can be tight. Food portions are huge and price is fair for What you are getting. I recommend for people who are visiting Ann Arbor because this is a breakfast/lunch joint you will want to try.
