Relaxed, cozy haunt for Italian favorites in painted brick environs decorated with artwork.
Food was awesome. Downside is that its a noisy place
After waiting ten minutes, the hostess finally comes over and asks if we have reservations. We didnt, so we left. Nowhere on their website does it say reservations are needed. This is the only restaurant I have ever been to that opens on the back alley instead of the street.
Delicious food, great service in a wonderful setting
Fantastic food and incredible service. Will be back!
Very very busy and loud! Food is excellent but I dont know how one waitstaff can handle all the people
What a great hidden restaurant! First time there. We will definitely be back. The food was excellent, and the portions were just right. Its been five years! The food and service continue to be excellent. Great place for intimate special occasions.
This used to be our favorite restaurant! Im hoping the owner reads this as suggestions not meant to be insulting. The appetizer, fried mozzarella, was very good. There were 3 of us-the server could have mentioned it was only 2 pieces. We had to ask for bread, then wait, and ask twice for the olive cream cheese. The bread was so over toasted it made our mouths sore. The entrees were excellent. The drinks were also very good. The silverware was definitely dirty. The floors were also in dire need of cleaning. The remodel is lovely! Its still as loud as ever. The waitresses were trying their best, but very busy and stressed. One of them is quite the yeller! We will try again some time.
Edit: this place is fantastic. I honestly love the food so much and it is the best in the capital area. Way better than Revival.
New to the area. Noticed this cute Italian restaurant. Popped in. Stood at door for 13 minutes being completely ignored. Wait staff finished with tables, saw us and continued to go out back where we could see them and had made eye contact more than once and still didnt even acknowledge us. Disappointed. Was excited to give it a try with all the great reviews. Doesnt take just great food to run a great restaurant experience.
Very nice small restaurant. Excellent food and service is very personable. Make reservations.
Great food... Great service...And Great Fun The new bar is so cool and comfortable.
Theyre back and we are so glad they are. The place looks great plus the food and service was excellent.
Arrived from for lunch and there was a hand written note on the door that they were full for lunch. When you looked it the windows there were plenty of tables available.Obviously they dont want the business.
Really good authentic Italian food. Fresh bread. Crisp salad, excellent dressing. Delicious chicken Picatta. These folks really hustle, outstanding professional service. Cant go wrong here.
One of the premier restaurants in NH. Service and especially the food is nothing short of outstanding. By far one of the best Italian dining experiences. Worth every single penny.
I think it really depends on how busy they are and what food/wine they have in stock.Weve been going there for years, this is our first time back since the pandemic and their renovation. The food was delicious, however we made a reservation for our 20th anniversary, and the two top we got was situated almost in front of the bathrooms, so every time someone went in to the bathroom, the door slam or smell from the bathroom was horrible. Our waitress was not great.... In fact when I ordered a second glass of a fairly expensive white wine at $10 a glass, she gave me a cheaper white wine. I called her on it and I watched her go back and change the same glass of wine into another glass and serve it to me again....Just to make sure, I bought that same bottle of Sauvignon Blanc Tohu today from the New Hampshire state liquor store for $15.99.... Again making sure I was not mistaken, and definitely was not!!. Maybe they ran out of that wine, maybe she didnt want to be bothered opening up another bottle but either way I could see her switching the wine glass from another wine glass and serving me the same glass that I complained about in the first time.Again weve always loved the food and Angelinas, but if the servers arent going to be consistent, and she certainly wasnt, and our seating was less than desirable for our 20th wedding anniversary which we made reservations ahead of time,. I dont thinkwell be back. Its probably worth our while to drive to Boston to get the authentic Italian experience
Extremely loud and hard to have a conversation. When expecting a high end dinning experience Id like to be able to talk to my party. The food was excellent. Unfortunately I may not go back.
Amazing every time! Love the remodel!
Always used to be a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, not the same now. When people decide to spend money and time to visit a restaurant, with friends it should to be a relaxing and memorable experience. My recent visit was certainly not that. Waitstaff was OK to start but it quickly became apparent that we were seat fillers for a specific amount of time only. We were told there was only one serving of fish available, seemed unusual, as we had the first reservation at opening time. Then as we were leaving at our "end" time, overheard staff telling others about the fish special. Only 4 pieces of bread for 4 people ? Food was OK. All in all, not the experience that one would hope for in celebrating a night out with friends...
The best Italian restaurant in NH. Been going for years. Food is fantastic. Service is outstanding! We love their fried calamari - its cooked perfectly as well as the linguini with clam sauce and chicken penne ala vodka. Make sure you leave room for dessert because their carrot cake is amazing!!!
Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. One of the best first visits to a restaurant me or my wife have ever had.
Good consistent food and good service. So reliable and good for a reasonable price. Thank you Rick!
Havent even had the opportunity to eat here, my review is because I tried several times to call to make a reservation, and the phone just rang (this is on Tuesday at 2:45 I waited because it said they open for diner at 2:00. Finally someone answered and as soon as I said I wanted to make a reservation, they hung up on me.Just rude.... I guess Ill never be eating here... bumms me out as it came highly recommended.
My new favorite restaurant ! We stopped in for lunch on a whim, reservations are highly encouraged (I didnt know)Reasonable prices for large portions of Italian food with incredible flavor. The seafood was fresh, the chicken breast was tender, & Alfredo sauce was perfect. Even tho we were full, we took the plunge and topped it off by having carrot cake... sooo glad we did.
This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant many years ago. The food was always good. Customer service was good. You were treated so well when you went in. This was about 16 years ago. Recently I have started coming back, and a lot has changed. I have called a couple times to make reservations and when they answer the phone, I have been met with unpleasantness. Almost a stressed out tone from the person who is answering. When you get there, same thing. It hasnt been consistently pleasant, like it has in the past. Maybe they are overly busy and its overwhelming them. But it can make for an uncomfortable atmosphere. The food hasnt been consistent either. Its either really good, or really bad. Its disappointing. I used to love it here. Im giving the three stars for the times that it has been good. I didnt want to take away from those visits.
Great place, my wife and I come here on our anniversary every year. The food is fantastic and the staff is excellent. I would suggest getting their Tiramisu, the flavor will linger in your mouth an hour after you eat it.
Food is always amazing! Atmosphere is not as intimate with the remodel, the service is always top notch! Angelinas will always be my favorite Italian Restaurant.
The food was great and prices are very reasonable considering this is an up-scale spot, no doubt. Our waitress was so wonderful. So kind, friendly and welcoming.
Food was very good. Restaurant is small and reservations are required. It was extremely cold in the restaurant which does take away from ability to enjoy yourself. Again, food was good and portions were generous.
Went In there for lunch wonderful atmosphere. The food was amazing I had fish special of Cod & steam clams.
Rating should be a 3.5. Food was VERY good. Service was somewhat challenged by the same factors that every industry is facing. Tables are right on top of each other and intimate conversations are hard to partake in (unless the table next to you is speaking in a normal tone). Would definitely go back.
Weve been long time fans. Perfect for date night. Great service, great food, great drinks and we always go home satisfied. Thanks for the great experiences. Call ahead for reservations.
I have picked up lunch or dinner a few times.Very good.I do give my daughter and son in law gift cards or cash, to Celebrate there Anniversarys, Birthdays, Holidays, and when I think they would enjoy, some quiet alone time.I like them to relax and enjoy. Its one of their favorite restaurants.PS I have eaten there, since my review. When my oldest, daughter comes up from Florida, we enjoy having a relaxing lunch, when she has time.Relaxing, service is very good, food was delicious.
This place is has a relaxed romantic feel. It is small (only 7 tablesbut the food was DELICIOUS and our server was great. He was very helpful and had a great attitude. My boyfriend and I both agreed that we will be returning here for another meal and we cannot wait. We were both both very impressed with everything we ate.
Had dinner there for our 50 year anniversary on Saturday. It is one of our special places for the best Italian food we have ever had. Made to order. Had the seafood risotto. OMG.While we were there, a young couple who was also celebrating their anniversary paid for our dinner. They did not want us to know until they left so we never had a chance to thank them. The kind gesture brought tears to our eyes. There are real nice people in the world. And this couple proves it. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Angelinas is the best Italian restaurant north of Boston. The food is excellent, so difficult to choose from the luncheons/dinners on the menu the waitstaff is professional, attentive, accommodating, wine selection cannot be beat, and try to decide what youd like for desserts (all made on premise), so yummy. If I could, Id give it 10 stars. Thank you to the wonderful chef and the employees who help to make it our "go to" restaurant.
Im jealous of all the people who apparently had a great experience here. We had a waitress with glasses and gray hair who was not pleasant. She was clearly stressed out and not managing her tables well. When we asked for recommendations, we were simply told that everything was good. The dishes were filthy. The tablecloth was stained. We were given cold bread. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for an appetizer while the table who arrived after us (party of two as wellwere finishing their dessert. The soup was cold and bland. Our waitress not once apologized for the wait nor acknowledged us while we waited for the appetizer. A waitress from a different section (young, dark hair, hoop blue earringsnoticed that we were being ignored and checked on us. She was the only good thing about our meal and she wasnt our waitress. Then it took another 30 minutes for dinner and it was not worth the price. The risotto was crunchy. More dirty silverware. First time and last time.
Always love this little place. Was there when they had two waiters and one cook, place was full. It was slow getting our food (understandablebut the level of service was not affected, our waitress was cheerful and super nice. She even made us a delicious Italian mixed drink with Aperol off menu. There was this amazing chocolate mousse which blew my mind. Fingers crossed that the chef adds that to the permanent dessert list, it was silky smooth perfection.
This site is my number one restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to this restaurant. when I I need a decent dinner, this is the place that comes immediately to my head. extremely good and many types of food and a large menu.trained team, and agreeable atmosphere. And very important, the pay is modest. I suggest this restaurant with great pleasure.
After making a reservation 2 weeks in advance for my birthday we were told by the first argumentative waitress that they didn’t have a website that accepted reservations. We explained that not only did we make a reservation but we called to confirm that reservation. We decided to leave because of how poorly we were being treated and were walking away when the hostess ran after us to make everything alright. She offered a free dessert and seated us. The second waitress however started questioning us about the reservation that my partner made for my birthday and was hovering over her shoulder while she demonstrated where she made the online reservation and confirmed the phone number that she called. For the second time that evening my partner had her integrity questioned THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE AND THE FOOD WAS JUST OK.CERTAINLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY DEALING WITH ARGUMENTATIVE WAITRESSES AND SUB STANDARD FOOD. When the bill arrived they tried to charge me for the dessert. We once again argued over the dessert? I HOPE-THE OWNER READS THIS AND TRAINS THE WAITRESSES TO PROVIDE A BETTER CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. Your not the north end. I should have had dinner in Boston since I had just come from a Bruins game. I will not recommend this restaurant nor will I be returning.
The food is amazing! The scallops almost melted in my mouth. The sauce might be one of the best Ive ever had, it matched the pasta beautifully. I would highly recommend going!
Great restaurant, superb service, Food quality exquisite! Highly recommend! Make a reservation a must! We didn’t have one and we got super lucky someone had just canceled, so we got to eat but numerous people came in and couldn’t get a table because they’re full! Small place but very cozy and nice atmosphere.
I have to say, Im not a fan of Italian food. If you asked me what I wanted for dinner on a Friday night, I would sooner go to Wendys than any Italian restaurant. That being said, Angelinas was absolutely amazing. Plenty of food, great theme, very friendly and accommodating kitchen and wait staff, and the food was excellent. Pricing was appropriate for the type and amount of food. We will definitely be back - highly recommend!
Angelinas is a very special place. I have brought my girlfriends and family here for dinner and lunch. I have never had a bad experience, or a bad dish. My current girlfriend is gluten free and the staff was very concerned and made sure she knew there was not gluten in the pasta or risotto. One thing I wish they had was gluten free bread for the table. It was sad when I could not share the bread and oil with my girlfriend.Regardless I will always come back for the amazing food, great wine, and cozy location.Make sure to make a reservation, this is not olive garden they have very limited seating, even on a weeknight.
Best date night in YEARS. Food was to die for, service unparalleled. My jaw actually dropped at the wine recommended by the server. Generous pour on the drinks and the scallops made me realize that all others Ive had werent cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was unforgettable.... and I promise I wasnt paid for this review. Husband is partially deaf and they put us in a little alcove, loved the extra space. Excited for the next visit!
Wonderful hand crafted meal and excellent home made desserts in a cozy space. Great wine and *top notch service!* (They were short-staffed on the weeknight we visited, and with a full dining room, but both servers were friendly and cheerful despite being obviously busy.Definitely will return for another special occasion.
My first visit and I cant wait to go back again soon! I had the lunch special which was chicken ravioli in a Vodka cream sauce... YUM! both the pasta and sauce were noticeably homemade, rich in wonderful flavors. Everything about this dish was outstanding. The service also was excellent. Not often do I find an Italian restaurant at this level of quality. Being fresh and homemade!
Delicious food and great service. I knew reservations were needed for dinner so I thought the atmosphere might be stuffy. It was not! The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed, the service was excellent, the wine portions were generous and the food came in just the right portions. I saved room for dessert and the Tira Misu was yummy and hard not to finish. We will be back!
Unbelievable food. Small and intimate. Call ahead for reservations, this place has limited availability and for good reason. Staff and service is consistently fabulous. Excellent wine selections. (If ever the braised short ribs are on special, do not hesitate!!!)
Absolutely THE BEST Italian Restaurant in NH, and one of the best I have ever eaten at. The food was perfectly seasoned, fresh and delicious. Staff was courteous and attentive. Drinks were also mixed well and served as ordered. You cant go wrong there, but get there early. Seating is limited, but will be worth the wait if you have to!
