Cheery Mexican eatery dishing out traditional street grub in a cozy, art-adorned space
Food tour with Saimi and Mark Foodie Field Trips. Owner Angelica known for excellent Carnitas. A line forms early.
What I did not like was when I ordered the cashier asked if I would like the sour cream and avocado 🥑 on the side and I said ok. Turn out the small avocado pieces and small cup of sour cream were $2.79 and 1.49 so way overpriced. A average size lunch ran $20.56. In Southern California for $10-15 you get excellent Mexican food and lots of it. So Angelica’s has average over priced Mexican food but the decor is nice.
Horrible customer service. The guy taking our order was rude. Then they charge you $1.49 for a small thing of sour cream. Food was ok nothing special about it. Way too loud inside. Very disappointing as it has good reviews. I will not be eating here again. I will stick with La Cocina.
Traveling to Anaheim we stopped in St. George for the night. This was right next to the hotel so we decided to try it after seeing the good reviews on it. I’ll start off by saying it was good good. I had the shredded beef burrito, my wife had 2 street tacos and our kid a bean and cheese burrito. For $30 we were expecting just a little bit more such as rice and beans to be included with the street tacos and cheese. They had a bar where you could get salsa, limes, and cabbage but it was all gone. It was a bit underwhelming considering you can go to cafe rio for Just a couple dollars more and get everything you want included in the price. If you want to get a good deal order a kids meal. You’d probably have just a little less food for a better deal and you’d get a drink and fruit snacks. 4/5 stars for the convenience and speedy service and taste, but just be warned to pay extra for things you’d think would be included.
The food is okay. (Carnitas is the meat to get, both chicken and Carne asada were dry and not very flavorful, and the sweet pork is better at cafe rio). Over-hyped, and super crowded, with no place to park. The kitchen is too small for the demand, so expect to wait a bit especially if you go during peak meal times. They do have fun sombreros and great decor, with outdoor seating, and a pretty good salsa bar.
Fast casual place. Dog friendly patio. Their menu was not as straight forward as it first appeared. Good food. People were very nice.
I had 2 sweet pork street tacos with rice and beans ....Soooo good! The staff is friendly, Angelicas is always clean and inviting with those delightful murals. I like the condiment bar and putting on my own condiments. Ive only been twice but will be there again and again!
It was good until last winter, I don’t know why but the burritos just started to become dry and with no flavor! (Rice and beanspork is dry you barely can feel the flavor. I got a sweet pork and my gf got the carnitas and it was horrible, then to try not my gf a bad experience I tried two street tacos and hahaha it was horrible, looks like a very oiled meat… I used to love to eat there but now she told me we never going back 🤷🏻♂️. I invited her because it used to be good but well I think they have to make it flavor like before of definitely better than now! Otherwise the place is a good place and sauces too!
Disappointing because the sweet pork quesadilla was dripping with grease, sitting in a puddle of grease! I used several napkins to soak up the grease. Holding the quesadilla it continuously dripped. 🤢 my husband loved his chicken street tacos, and the salsa was delicious! The response was not even sympathetic from the employees. Mind you I have had this several times before and never had this happen.
Authentic Mexican food prepared with a unique twist. Not just another fast food Mexican stop. Home made original tortila shells are fabulous... top em off with a variety of flavors your self with propriety sauces, etc. Its a regular stop for locals and a quick must do dining experience if your in town for a day or two.
VIBIN: "Hands down" (whatever THAT means), an EXTREMELY good REAL Mexican food, GREAT vibin Mexican restaurant. Why "vibin"? Because along with great food (for my wife and Iyou HAVE to have a good place to eat it... and to just "vibe" in. Angelicas fits that for us. Eclectic. We go there twice a week typically. For the vibe and the food. Once were done eating, sometimes we just sit there and vibe (when its not crazy busy). The place is already ALWAYS busy (theres your sign right thereso just go when its not. I dont need more seating competition but I have to do them justice. Owners are awesome too, theyre there, and they care. Now go eat and vibe, but just not when Im there :-)
Worst Mexican food ever. All of our food was swimming in crease. The Mulita we ordered went straight in to the trash. Tortillas werent crisp, they were soaked in crease. We will never ear there again- what a waste of money.
This is our FAVORITE place!! We come to St. George a few times every year and we are always sure to get Angelica’s every time. We bring whoever we have with us at the time and they all end up loving it too! Our faves are the carnitas street tacos and the carne asada burritos. Delicious!!
This place is so amazing!! I cant believe I waited so long to come. Order at the counterand have your Plenty of food served to your table in minutes. The salsa bar is free and labeled well: Fresh lime, pico de gallo, and other salsas avail. WELL worth the money!!!
Great food and fast service! Everyone really enjoyed the street tacos and homemade salsas. Both times we went the service was quick despite one of the visits being during dinner rush. However, the second time we came, we were with a large group and the order came incomplete. When we informed them, they made sure it was all taken care of.If we come to St George again, well stop by for a third visit!
Traveling around Saint George from out of state. One of the employees at a department store we were shopping at highly recommended this place. My wife is a chef so we are really picky when it comes to flavorful food. This place did not disappoint. Food was excellent, service was great and fast! Salsa bar….to die for! Best flavored salsa we’ve had. Was 100 degrees out and they had misters spraying and ceiling fans on the large outdoor patio which made it very comfortable. Man this place was amazing!!
Damn good carne asada street tacos! At first I was confused that I had to build them past the tortilla and meat, but it’s actually my favorite way to have a taco because I can add exactly what I want from their salsa & veggie bar. The mulita is also a great meal! We have been a few times and the food is always consistently tasty and fresh. If you’re planning on coming on the weekend during the summer the indoor seating WILL BE PACKED. We’ve usually come during the busier times, and it’s taken 20-30 minutes to get food but it’s well worth the wait!
Yum! I got street tacos with crispy pork and shredded beef. So delicious! There were toppings (including different levels of heat salsasto choose from.
Food is the BOMB!!! Sweet pork tacos are to die for. They are always very fast, quality of food is very good and service is great too. You guys are the best!!!
Fast service even with a fairly long line. Your burritos and tacos dont come soggy like many Mexican places because they drain the meat it seems. I liked that, but others in my group didnt add salsa or sour cream and felt it was too dry for their tastes. Very good overall including the Horchata.
The place is fairly good, food is decent but the ordering process is chaotic. No table service and no chips. A little odd for a Mexican restaurant but I can deal with it, just a little surprised. There is outdoor seating where pets are also allowed. Salsa bar is nice and there are fountain drinks as well as bottles of beer you can buy.
Angelica’s is great! The outdoor misters and decorations make it feel like a rainforest. The food was good, I got a chicken burrito and it was tender and seasoned to perfection. The portions were generous. My wife got the torta and she liked it but the steak was a lil fatty and there were too many onions. The rice and beans side was okay as well. All in all, we had a great experience and would recommend the place. We had a few friends refer the place to us as a to-go spot in St George.
Delicious street tacos, BEST in town! Locally owned business with friendly staff and super fast service, every time!!
Great atmosphere for a modest priced restaurant very reasonable prices. Very busy some people waited for a seat especially outside seating. Food was good to better than good.
Best Mexican around— and I mean around the state. I love Mexican food and this came highly rated. It’s easy to see why! We had the carnitas and sweet pork burritos. Unbelievably good. The salsas were amazing too— pick the hot one. The burritos are massive but I couldn’t leave any of it. Neither could my wife. It’s a cool place too— inside and outside dining, and it was a steady steam of people coming in and out. Service was fast as well. I’m stuffed but I want to go back again to get more!
A true delight for Mexican food in Washington County! They are the best. We have never had anything we didnt like! If you dont like long lines go early! YUMMY!
I seriously couldnt believe how terrible our food was! We ordered two fajitas, one steak and one pork. No onions, couple little peppers and a big pile of cabbage. Steak was old and wayyyyy over seasoned no cheese, no sour cream, We spent over $50.00 and I wanted to vomit. Very disappointing. I will never go back again!
Our collegiate student body came here for dinner on the first night of our training in St. George. Not only was the service fantastic, but the food was amazing!!! I haven’t had better street tacos, and the beans are to die for! Thanks so much for having us crazy people for dinner and for taking extremely good care of us!
This is one of the absolute BEST places to eat in St George. The food is TOP NOTCH. It is delicious. The staff is friendly, and it is a reasonable price. Make sure you put this on your must go to list!!
I have a problem. When I’m really excited to try a new restaurant, I fail to get photos before I start eating! The locals who took me here, couldn’t say enough about it, so I was naturally very excited. And it did NOT disappoint! The photo is of someone else’s food, since mine was gone before I remembered to get a pic to share :)STREET TACOS! I tried the Carnitas, Chile Verde, and Sweet Pork! Sweet pork was my favorite, but I have a sweet tooth. And the others were amazing too!The server who brought my food was hilarious and and outdoor seating was a nice addition.
Yummy authentic food during a stop in town. Carne Asada was good in my street tacos. Love the decor & salsa bar.
A St. Geezy classic. Highly recommend the sweet pork quesadillas, shredded beef tacos, and grilled chicken tacos. $23 for everything pictured.
One of my favorite places in St. George. The sweet pork and Chile verde pork tacos are my favorites. Their rice and beans are actually good instead of just filler, and the patio seating is really nice. I don’t love their carne asada or chicken though.
Great food, family friendly pricing and a terrific staff. The weekend band is fun so all is well. Yup, a must when you come to St. George!
Ive had alot of Mexican food in the last 60yrs...live in the SW...and I can honestly say this was the best shredded beef burrito & Salsa...EVER!!
Worth the wait!Long line but the food arrives quickly and is some of the best Mexican we’ve had. The owners are present and interact with customers! ❤️
Food is good the place is clean but they brought the tacos first and like 15 min later the burrito and quesadilla I was expecting everything together.
I had heard from several people that Angelicas is the place to go in St George. It was good! Not my favorite, but still really good! We both got street tacos, which is what they said they are known for. I liked the chicken more than the sweet pork. The salsa bar was fun, but they dont have chips!! I heard its because they try to be authentic but they offer sweet pork burritos so... Anyway, other than that it was yummy!
I absolutely love Angelicas street tacos. I have tied all the different meat choices and they are all great but Carne Asad is my favorite. A side of rice and beans is also a good choice.
Delicious food, however not very relaxing ambience. Very loud with poor acoustics makes it hard to relax and enjoy a conversation with my group. They have a nice salsa bar. Next time I go Ill try to go at an "off" time so I can enjoy my food in a less chaotic atmosphere.
Had a Vegetarian Burrito on Burrito Thursday. Real fresh veggies that had been lightly grilled. Large decent eating tortilla. Picked some good hot Salsa and it went down easy. On Thursday your burrito comes with rice and beans I was told. We were out on the covered patio which was pleasant. (Watch the birds, they tried to steal bites when I wasnt paying attention.)Only down was the bathroom door locking.
"IM ADDICTED!"The single best chile verde burrito Ive ever had. Stunning interior and divine smells. The staff was quick, friendly, and well prepared for the rush they experienced while I was there, delivering peerless food and professionalism.I look forward to coming again whenever Im in St George.
Loved this place. Try the sweet pork tacos or burrito! The corn tacos were amazingly fresh and delicious. Not at all like an American corn taco. The ambiance outside was fun too. Salsa bar was fun too.
Thought would give this a try today? Was expecting a little different like sit down with service but you order food first wich I am ok with that. I ordered the 4 street taco special for Monday. I ordered 2 shredded pork tacos and 2 shredded sweet pork tacos. When they brought out the tacos was expecting a bigger portion size was like 1 cup of pinto beans and I cup of rice I was just glad was not to hungry. Problem is not a overall good value at almost 9 dollars. The meat onThe regular pork tacos was not really seasoned very well. I did like the sweet pork tacos better, but 3 bites of meat is all you get on a taco there I guess?. If It was 1 dollar tacos like a lot of food trucks? would been just ok deal! since I have eaten much better tacos for far less. Salsa was nothing special just average. I will try some other taco places but in my opinion this place is way over rated and my wife felt the same.
Very entertaining live music and solid tacos! I loved the sweet pork. Even though they were closing they let us sit inside until we had finished our meal and we never felt rushed. The enchiladas were tasty and we also loved the add ons bar.
This was our first time here. We went because it was on our st George places to eat list.I love carne asada, so it was fun to try that out. The tacos were crunchy and I had normally had soft ones, I’m a fan of soft. Alisa got the different carne meal and it was really good too.We will go back.
Everytime we come to St George we love to try a different Mexican restaurant and this one hit the mark.My husband and I both had Angelicas special, one with Carne asada, one with carnitas. The first thing we noticed was how flavorful the Spanish rice is and we both commented on how it is the best rice weve ever had. Angelicas special is grilled onions and peppers topped with melted cheese your choice of meat served on corn tortillas. Basically it is like a fajita with corn tortillas but its the corn tortillas that makes it special and sets it apart because they are deliciously fried crispy and add a special texture and flavor to the whole dish. We both loved it!
Fantastic taco place. We tried the pollo asada, carne asada, and for the finally the sweet pork. All were excellent although a little greasy but in a yummy way. Crispy tortillas cooked to perfection. It was written up as #2 on top 10 places to eat in St George. Now back to the Sweet Pork tacos....definitely the star of the menu. All 3 of us could have ordered seconds of that one for desert !
I cannot recommend this place more. Unbelievable food with its own unique twist. The staff is super friendly and our food arrived quickly. The choices of salsa and spicy toppings wont disappoint. Mixing and matching the street tacos is a must.
Reviews were accurate. Clean. Good vibe. Nice staff. Fast. Meat had great flavor. Try the sweet pork option. Open salsa /sauce bar was nice. Hot and mild and verde options. Dont use too much of the hot one. Its hot. Prices are a little too high for the portion sizes. We got 8 street tacos and a side of rice and beans with water to drink for about $25. Simple menu.
