Deliciousness. Everything we had as superior in taste, quality and presentation. Wonderfully, local sourcing, high end serving and organized kitchen staff ensured our meal was delivered promt and hot. I dont really need to go on much because these pictures speak for themselves.

Based on the current reviews, I was expecting for this place to absolutely WOW me with its ambience, service and, food/drinks.Ambience, the restaurant is nice and clean but felt extremely crowded and extremely loud due to people trying to have conversations over each other. The food was honestly the biggest disappointment for me. I have eaten in many Peruvian restaurants and I was expecting next level. The flavoring on the Lomo Salteado wasn’t a good take, I basically got beef stew. That dish originally has a lot of Asian influence and the take here was far from that. There was very little meat and this is a dish where the meat is one of the main and key ingredients it’s usually also made with “Lomo” one of the best cuts in beef. Considering it was like a stew it was EXTREMELY chewy.PLEASE fix your Chocolate Andina dessert!!!! The presentation was very nice, but where is the brownie? Or was the dessert made for people to take photos for Instagram? Dissatisfied. The only good thing is the pisco sour was very good. On the other hand, when I asked what pisco options they had, they let me know they only work with one pisco brand. I was confused because Peru is known for their Pisco. As a Peruvian restaurant pisco variety is a must. The service of the staff was excellent, very attentive. Every time a dish was taken to a table an explanation of the dish was given. Very nice detail.Based on the above and the final bill for 1 person ($$$I will give it a 3 Star.

I wouldn’t say it’s like the traditional food that I’ve had in Peru but it tasted good. Empanadas with beef were average. The seafood paaella style dish had big meaty prawns and calamari with a battery crunch. There was a warm spice that added a nice kick, it was not listed in the ingredients and we forgot to ask.Wine pours are small and at 16USD a glass, they need to be more generous. The Malbec was ok.Ambiance could do with some work, the lights were so low we could barely read the menu. Would come back and try another dish.

We were really excited to try this place, however, we were a bit disappointed. WE ordered causa de camarones, pancita de cerdo, and yuca fritas. The first dish lacked a but of texture as both the potatoes and shrimp were processed too fine. Pork belly itself was good but the sauce was a but too sour for our liking. Lastly, the yuca fries lacked the natural flavor of yuca, perhaps due to its large size? We were there during peak hours, so that could have affected the taste. Service was good and the wait time for food wasnt too long.

This is my favorite restaurant in Portland, and I visit every time I am in town from Chicago. I think they should have a Michelin Star -- but they dont seem to award those in Seattle and Portland for some reason. The Ceviches are the absolute best I have had at any restaurant anywhere -- period.

Went to dinner here for our 5 year anniversary. This was a very underwhelming experience. To start, we had reservations and did not get seated for 15 minutes after our reservation time. We talked to our server about cilantro in one of the dishes. One of us has the gene that makes cilantro taste terrible. He assured us that the cilantro was a garnish and could easily be left out. Big surprise the dish came out covered with cilantro and we had to send it back after discovering what the green stuff was. Fast forward to our main course and there was cilantro on the onions. For an upscale restaurant this should not happen when you explicitly say on your reservation that cilantro ruins the dish for us, plus talking to the server about the aversion to it as well. There are other Peruvian restaurants in the area that have better food, better service and is more reasonably priced. We will not be coming back.

Dinner were great, loved the flavors of our Arroz Con Mariscos and the Ensalada Andina. Dessert wasnt up to the same level, the spiced chocolate cake didnt have too much flavor, we wouldve been better off ordering another savory dish. Atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, I liked all the wood used for the interior.

This was a wonderful place to host my friends in a celebration of being promoted and having the ability to take them out. They had plenty of options in terms of vegetarian as well as meat options. The drink menu was fantastic and even though Im sober they had Inca cola which is a delightful treat. The desserts were amazing not overbearing in sweetness. The main entrees were super filling and packed with flavor. Definitely be ready to spend some money but the attention from the wait staff added to the food makes this place a great staple.

Food tastes and looks great! But prices are a bit on the ridiculous side, especially after the recent 20+% increase. Examples:1. Tiny, one bite empanada pastry - $92. Cebiche featuring 5 small slices of salmon -$243. A plate of paella, enough for one guy -$64

The servers were courteous and polite. The other customers were not. This created an environment that was much too loud to enjoy a nice meal and conversation. Several men were wearing shorts and flip-flops and shouting obscenities. The tolerance of this made the experience disappointing. Its not what I expected of a restaurant of this class. The tables were inconveniently small, which is a real problem at this particular restaurant due to the portions requiring you to order multiple plates of food. The lamb with sauce was delicious; I highly recommend it.The main dining room is not a proper location for a romantic dinner. Perhaps the lounge or outdoor seating areas are more suitable.

Exceptional experience - helped with a surprise! I took my wife here to celebrate her acceptance into law school. I reached out in advance and they were able to help accommodate a flower delivery that I had sent them the day of the reservation. They brought the flowers and card to my wife once we arrived at our table. Amazing service (Rex knew everything about the menu and even Peruvian culture and history). The setting was wonderful out on the patio in the Pearl district. We ordered the pan de yema and humita for appetizers, pancita de cerdo con carapulcra and lomo saltado for entrees, Inca kola and cicha morada to drink. The food was incredible. Overall, wonderful experience with zero negatives. The bill was higher than we normally spend when we go out but $130 for 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 2 coffees was practically a steal for the quality. Definitely will return.

My first meal here was in April 2014. Very inspiring. But this dinner was SO much better. We sat outside sweating in ~90F (our choiceand the food and service were awesome. I spent 4 nights in Lima a few years ago, and Andoma wasnt up to those food standards. Still, quite good for the USA.

My husband took me here for our anniversary dinner - it exceeded our expectations. He read the wonderful reviews online and was surprised we hadnt come across this place before. The place is huge and is beautifully designed inside with a downstairs for special events. It was near-booked when he got the reservation two weeks ago so Im glad we squeezed in! The food was absolutely delicious and service was very attentive. They were all so kind. My husband ordered a steak dish and they accidentally sent out the mushroom/vegan version. He didnt realize it until he started eating it and decided not to say anything because it was the same menu price and tasted amazing. I think the manager realized their mistake and came to correct it. My husband said dont worry about it and they asked like 3 times if he was sure haha. Then our server came by to personally apologize. Later he came by again to say they were going to remove it from our tab. THEN when they brought out our dessert they brought out their cookie dessert complimentary for our anniversary. This place just takes hospitality seriously and it shows. They take special care of you here and the dishes are pieces of art. Thanks for a memorable evening, well be back!

Third time here. Food and service are excellent. Make sure to order the tapas, will make the experience way better. Loved the Causa de camarones, spinach empanada, beef heart skewer and the torta Heleda. By the time we got to the entrees, we were almost full- had to box the leftover entrees. The Loma Saltado tastes good and portions have improved. I love how tender the seco de cordero is.

Next level. A beautiful meal, impeccable service, exotic flavors, fresh takes on classics. Rec. Lomo Saltado, and tapas-style small dishes incl. corazon anticucho, the very generous ceviche, & fried yucca better than the Cubans make in Miami. The desert and coffee service is superb. Try the alfajores and unusual ice cream. This place is booked solid because it is a world apart from other Portland restaurants. Worth every penny.

I’ve been twice to this place. Before the pandemic it has different chefs and management. At that time, easily a 5 star place. Now post pandemic with new staff learning a new menu, I’d drop it to 4. The food was excellent but without some of the previous highlights (no more octopus!it seems less special of a place to go to. It is not really a tapas style place anymore as the skewers are quite small and otherwise there are few small plates beyond ceviche

Fine Peruvian cuisine with the restaurant’s own innovation. Ceviche is interesting - they offer king salmon and used different ingredients than what’s typical. Steak stir fry was my favorite dish. Lamb shank tasted good also.

Still amazing and extraordinary after all these years! In used to come here often back 10-12 years ago as it was one of my 2-3 favorite restaurants in Portland because of its stellar ambience along with magical food unlike that found in most places. Returning this week for the first time in a dozen years, I found great food, perfect service and a charming atmosphere. My Russian friend declared it the best American restaurant of her 6 month visit here. Perfectly wonderful!

We started with some salads and chicken & lamb skewers. The skewers were exceptional. We also had braised pork belly, lomo saltado and arroz con mariscos. The portion of the rice and seafood was a little smaller than I remembered but still delicious. Service was excellent and we try to eat there every time we are in Portland.

Delicious lomo saltado - exquisite and complex flavors. The spicy cocktail is my absolute favorite. Not too sweet and just enough kick.Ive been coming to andinas for years and always have a sublime experience. Especially now post pandemic, their kind and attentive servers are a breath of fresh air. As someone who is gluten free I appreciate their awareness. Although the menu has changed over the years, the quality of the food and variety of flavors has not. Im looking forward to my return.

Absolutely impeccable. Drinks were delicious, service was spectacular, and the atmosphere was spot on. The owner even came out to chat with us about growing up in Peru. What a unique experience! Only suggestion is that although the Paella was great, for that price it could use more seafood. Regardless, definitely would go back and am actively recommending to all friends!!

UpdateThis restaurant went from one of our favorites to a restaurant we dont even bother going into any more.Back open after the start of covid-19 Andina has appeared to have gone even further downhill than before the pandemic. Take one look at the new menu and it is evident that they arent even trying. All the great looking items on the google review arent even on the menu anymore.I guess their outdoor patio restaurant that offers takeout is pretty good but, the indoor dining at the parent restaurant Andina just isnt worth the price tag.PastThis place was really good the first time we tried it about 15 years ago. Since they changed owners about 10 years ago its kind of gone downhill since then. Dont get me wrong its still a good restaurant and one of the better ones in Portland but, their quality control has really slipped and I can no longer justify paying their abusive prices for food that used to be good. Most of the items on my menu my wife makes anyway as she hails from Peru herself.

I dined at Andina during my first visit to Portland in 2003. My wife and I were blown away by the cooking. It was unique, hearty and delicious. One of the owners, a charming woman, stopped by our table to describe our dishes and her passion for Peruvian cuisine was contagious. We returned the next night for another gracious experience. What a difference 18 years make. This time I was in Portland with a friend, my wife back in Seattle. Our reservation was for 8:30, but we were abruptly told our table was not ready, and I would receive a text when we should return. Thirty-five minutes later, at 9:05, I received the text. The restaurant was crowded, but not full. David was our excellent server, and he took excellent care of us. Drinks were wonderful and strong, perfect aperitifs before our meal.Appetizers arrived and they were delicious and refreshing, representing the best of Peruvian cuisine. For an entreé, we ordered the lomo saltado, an iconic Peruvian dish. And we waited, and waited, and waited. Our server David repeatedly apologized, but our appetites disappeared. The lomo saltado finally arrived, but the meat was tough and the dish appeared haphazardly prepared. When we asked about dessert, we were told the dessert line had left, told to go home. It was close to 11:00, but we were compelled to wait for our table and wait and wait and wait for our lomo saltado. The manager came over and comped the lomo, but our meal was ruined, and even worse, so was my memory.

Im gonna be honest, I was a little disappointed. My partner ate here once many years ago and was very excited to return. We ordered quite a few dishes to share amongst ourselves, and while everything was good, nothing really blew me away. When I pay higher prices for a meal I expect a higher quality. I dont feel like I got that. That said, the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time there but I dont think Ill be coming back.

Andina is hands down our favorite restaurant in Portland. We had mothers day lunch here. The service is amazing. Our server is professional and super friendly. After we ordered, a nice lady (she looks like the owner of the restaurantcame to our table to say hi and talk to us. she went from table to table just to greet people. that made us feel wonderful.and as for the food. everything tasted absolutely fresh and delicious. The tapas, the paella, the steak and dessert. They even gave out little cookie box to every mother as a thank you gift. We are definitely coming back.
