2011 Calle McLeary, San Juan, PR 00911, United States, San Juan
Andalucia Guest House - in San Juan, Puerto Rico
My wife and I loved this place, very friendly staff that’s gets back to you asap with whatever you need! They provide all the towels, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers and beach games! Close walk to beach and in a safe neighborhood. Can Uber to airport for $7-10 and same with old San Juan. If I had to give a negative it would be sometimes the water would not get hot but not an issue for us, we will definitely be back!
Great place to stay. Owner is beyond helpful and cares deeply about his guests. Location is great as well! I would absolutely stay here again.
Host was great and always attentive of us. Always send us recommendations where to go. Rooms a very clean.
The owner runs an excellent establishment. It is very clean (no bugs inside or outside), the AC runs cold, the wifi is good and the TV is a smart TV. There is a keypad lock to get into the hotel and another one for each room which made my wife and I feel very safe and secure. Even the cleaning is by request (just text the owner and they schedule it the day afterwhich we appreciated. There is a 24h Walgreens in close proximity that was a lifesaver since we always had a good source of cheap drinks/snacks in addition to the multitude of restaurants around the area. Theres also a very nice beach within walking distance and the owner supplies towels, chairs, coolers, etc for you to borrow for your stay.It is next to a main road so you do get quite a bit of noise from cars with loud motors or radios but I do not fault the guest house for that since it is a concrete building with sealed windows so theres not much more they could do to fix it. There are also very limited parking spaces so it would be a good idea to check with the owner before booking if you are planning on renting a car to make sure you have a space for yourself.
This is a lovely place to stay in San Juan. It’s very reasonably priced (being a guest house rather than a hotel), but still has all the amenities one needs to be comfortable, including good AC units, clean/modern bathrooms, and Wi-Fi. The proprietor, Roberto, is also very friendly and helpful.
Our flight got canceled 4 times we asked to not be charged the last days that we were not able to come in.....they still over charged us even after contacting them and they never called us back. We understood being charged the days prior.....but for them to charge us after the fact was terrible, find some place else.
I want to start by saying that the hospitality in Andalucia was amazing!!! Thank you, señor Roberto for all the accommodations you did for us!!! AC, shower, and microwave worked perfectly. Bed was comfortable. Beach is 2-3 blocks from there. They will have everything you need to have an amazing beach day (towels, beach fridge, chairsRestaurants are closed by. Ubers to Old San Juan were really affordable ($8-$12).Thank you for making my first visit to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷an amazing experience😊NV & RL
As someone in property management, I always appreciate when a host provides exceptional customer service. This is what you can expect here! :My wife and I encountered a hiccup with our room, but Roberto responded immediately and resolved the issue. He is friendly and always happy to help. Highly recommend staying here!
Nice location. Been a nice place to stay close to beach. Good food within walking distance.
First impression was great and was a quaint clean room. The host was wonderful and gave great suggestions about things to do and places to go in the area, but the place had one big problem. No water first night, low water pressure later without any hot water, which was difficult during our three night stay. Reportably there was a city water issue. Paid full price for the room. Overall we enjoyed our stay but a low pressure cold shower after a day on beach, hiking in the forest, or a day of just running around gave us something not to look forward to each night. 4-4.5 star if no water issue.
My husband and I were looking for a place to sleep last minute and we found 1 opening at Andalucia Guest House! We didn’t want to pay $500+ for a place where we would be at for maybe 12 hours and this was perfect!!!Roberto was great! The instructions were easy and best of all the room was spotless clean!!!All I wanted was to go to bed in a comfortable, clean spot and this was it! :)There was AC, a fan, refrigerator, CLEAN BATHROOM and a CLEAN BED!There are a lot of other places that have weird/ bad reviews so stay here! :)It’s also really cute!
Great location away from busy San Juan, but local enough to walk to many places for food, drinks and the beach. Wont get nice views as its only 2 levels. Roberto was really accommodating and welcoming. He has beach towels, chairs and coolers available.
Perfect! This is exactly what a lodging experience should be. Roberto is a fantastic host and a really nice guy. We appreciated being able to communicate with him via text to ask questions and schedule room cleanings. The rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet, and well appointed. It is walking distance from the plenty of dining, a Walgreens, and the beach. Parking was a non-issue: the first-come, first-serve spots didnt fill up during our 6-night stay, but even if they did there was plenty of street parking. Highly recommended!
Staying for a few nights and no regretting it. Very well connected to the old city of San Juan and the highway to the rest of the island. Very close to the beach, with a few parking slots. The owner knows the surrounding very well and can advise on dining and tourism! Very kind and helpful!
Affordable place to stay. Clean and comfy. I did not like that they were painting and doing some fixing in the place while I was there. Great location. You can walk to the beach and walk to the kasala ( great place to eat). You can also walk to Calle loisa where you can go to different bars and restaurants.
Very nice place with great location close to the beach. The owners are great hosts and very friendly. Definitely a place to consider when visiting the area. Thanks for the hospitality!
Excellent service. Everything in order when we arrive at the locarion. Very friendly and attentive in service. It will be in consideration for our next visit to PR.
Lovely guest house , nice and clean , the area around is very safeSpecial thanks to Roberto for being a wonderful hosts 🙏🙏Thank you and see you very soon
Great place to stay! Roberto is a great host! The location is in the middle of everything in San Juan.
Andalucia Guest House is the best place to stay! My husband and I were there for 5 days and Roberto was a gracious host who made us feel welcome. He’s a such a nice person. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning felt like heaven. The outside of our room was like an oasis. Very beautiful with plants and lively colors where you can sit and relax. There’s a fridge with water and snacks to purchase for a very reasonable price and a shower to wash away the sand when you return from the beach. We were provided with towels and beach chairs to borrow for the beach. There are several restaurants, bars and a nice consignment shop that are all walking distant. We had a wonderful time!I highly recommend this guest house, you will not be disappointed.
This place was a gem hidden…The owner Roberto was very attentive to our needs and he was only a text away..Beach within walking distance, restaurants within walking distance, Walgreens literally a block away and to catch a Uber anyway no more then $6-13 bucks..If I visit PR again I would definitely stay here again..
It was my mother that stayed; she said the room was clean, neat, and comfortable. The owner was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Access to anything was easy; beach was close, restaurants were close, etc. Will definitely stay again. I recommend this place, highly. I sing it’s praises. Stay here before you stay anywhere else like some chain hotel.
Roberto is excellent. Zero issues and the room has everything we need.
Roberto is the most amazing host, place is close to restaurants and most important the beach
It’s clean and has everything you need. Good location and the owner is very thoughtful. We were so happy to stay here, especially after the nightmare of the last place. But even without the contrast, this is a great place to stay. Safe and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone.
We enjoyed our stay at Andalucia in 2009 and returned in May for a 5 night stay. Everything was great -- room was clean and comfortable, everything worked, beach towels and chairs were available and Roberto was a dreamy host. When we checked in I told him, "We are low maintenance" -- but over the course of the next few days, I asked for multiple things (coffee filters, hairdryer, etcand every time he came through with whatever was needed very quickly. Location is ideal -- within blocks from the beach and an easy stroll to array of varied restaurants. Very convenient. We will definitely return -- again!
This review is a few months late. My fiancé and I stayed here in March and we had an amazing time. First let me say that Roberto the owner was AMAZING and so knowledgeable about things to do in the area. Roberto also lives on the property and is very easy to get in contact with if you need anything. The location is great and has a beautiful little outdoor space and was very clean. It is also about a 2 min walk to the beach and is in walking distance to some great restaurants and bars. Between Roberto, the location and the Beach we had a great time and will definitely stay there again the next time we go back. This place is a gem nestled in San Juan!!!
Great rooms, great location and fantastic staff. Very homey feel with a beautiful courtyard. Roberto suggested amazing lesser known destinations and places to eat. During our trip the island experienced heavy flooding and a power outage and his first order of business was ensuring his guests safety and well-being. Staff was always there when you needed them and never there when you didn’t. Absolute ace hospitality!
This place is awesome, definitely coming back. 5 minutes away from the beach, everything is so close to this place. Roberto is a great man-owner! Giving all my respect for you-your work, hospitality, and help in any situation. Thank you so much!
BEAUTIFUL PLACE!! My husband & I stayed here for a night b/c our flight got canceled, Roberto messaged us allowing us to check in early after hearing about it. This place is an absolute Gem !! Extremely Clean, beautiful, && the rooms have those key pad locks on them so you punch in a code & push a button to get in && only a block away from the beach!! The location is PERFECT, just a short walk away from restaurants & bars.Roberto offered up beach towels && even beach chairs!! He was soooo kind! Over all this was the PERFECT PLACE !!Highly recommended!!
Amazing place with fantastic host. Roberto is like a local family member who can help with most anything.
Perfection for me. Simple walk to next through quiet neighborhood. Right near a fun stretch of restaurants. I really enjoyed just wanting around the area. And the owner lives onsite and was a delightful gentleman with a fascinating past!
Very clean and the beds were super comfy. The bathroom was nice clean up to date . My room had a kitchen with dishes stove microwave. The location is great close to all the good restaurants and the beach. The owner Roberto accommodated me and my friend with beach towels and chairs there are also coolers if you need. He allowed us to leave our baggage there after check out so we could spend more time at the beach. When we got back the property had a shower and bathroom outside so we were able to change before our flight . It was a great experience better than any hotel . 5 stars !!!!
Awsome :: place to stay, lots of resturants in the area..... uber transportaion is great.. three blocks from the beach.. casino close by. nice area
What a gorgeous room! I found safety in having a gated entry way. Roberto was the most helpful & informative host ever. From giving us recommendations for restaurants to researching restrictions/reservation needs for us during our stay at the height of lockdown in PR due to COVID. He made my daughter & Is Bday week perfectly memorable(10/12/20-10/16/20)!
The owners were so accommodating and allowed us to get the best rooms available during our stay. The place is located so central to many great restaurants and the beach and very quiet at night. We will be back! Thanks for being amazing hosts!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Helpful, friendly staff. Felt like family. Clean, safe and close to EVERYTHING.5-7 minute walk to the beach, 24 hour walgreens, fast food and restaurants also just as close. Gated property (Need a key to get in and outQuiet. Beach towels, chairs available to use (freebug repellent and sunscreen also available to use in the lobby area. Microwave available. Snacks and cold water and sodas available for purchase in lobby ($1)Smart TV in the rooms- was able to log onto my Netflix, hulu etc. *VERY CLEAN AND HOT WATER*
Andalucia is very nice. The people are really great. We are still here & so far we are enjoying it. We have several places we can walk to and good recommendations from Roberto!
We stayed here for 2 nights while we waited for our cruise ship to show up...This place came just as advertised...Roberto (The Ownerchecked us in, gave us the lay out of the property, showed us how to get to the beach nearby, and recommended some places nearby where we could get some food...He gave us his cell phone # in case we had any questions and advised us that he lives on the property on the 3rd floor...The rooms are nice and clean and housekeeping cleans them every day...The parking on site fits only 6 cars as advertised but there is plenty of free parking on the side streets nearby...My friend and I loved this place because its small, but elegant and we were only staying here for a short period...I would definitely recommend this place if you staying for a few days, but if you needed to stay longer, they can definitely accommodate you...Vote for Roberto...He da best
Excellent location, close to the beach and lots of restaurants/shopping on Calle Loiza. The rooms are clean, beds and bathrooms are very nice, ac and ceiling fans are more than enough to cool you off, the staff is friendly and knowledge, and a parking spot is included. Cannot recommend highly enough.
If I could give 10 stars I would! Roberto and Jamie have put their heart and souls into this guesthouse and it definitely shows. From the moment I arrived I knew I had picked the right place for my 8 day stay in San Juan. I was greeted warmly by Roberto even though it was past ten p.m. He shared not only tips and a self-made map, but also the excitement I felt being in the warmth (Im from Wisconsin..brrrr..!). I was shown to my room which was the Standard Single room. It has a mini-fridge, silverware, bowls, plates, a dresser, table, chair and a very, very comfy full-size bed. The air conditioning and ceiling fan kept me comfortable (I couldnt believe the air conditioning was on because it was so quietand most of the time I didnt need it because the room was so well insulated. I also had a well stocked bathroom with that had an amazing shower with a fantastic showerhead. There were two maids who came each day and swept up sand, washed your floors, provided fresh towels, took out the garbage and made the beds. The maids were great! I hung around the property a lot, lounging and reading on the patio (very cute with all of Jamies plants). While lounging, i frequently ran into Roberto and Jamie. I loved talking to them and learned quite a bit about not just Puerto Rico, but about their lives and history.. So very interesting! I felt very well taken care of and more than prepared for all the beach trips I took. Roberto and Jamie provide you with huge beach towels (fresh everyday), beach chairs, boogie boards and last minute skin care items for dealing with the Carribean sun. Conveniently located by a Walgreens, youll never be without necessities you might have forgotten at home. This guesthouse is 3 blocks from and amazing beach and 10 minutes walking to a local beach where you will get to experience drum circles and real Puerto Ricans relaxing and chilling. I highly recommend that you stay at this guesthouse.. I know I will be again! Thanks Roberto and Jamie! Love you guys!
wow, my first time in Puerto Rico and it couldn’t have been a better experience, mostly because of the location and price of this guest house! All the employees are super kind and accommodating and provide you with everything you need for the perfect beach day which is only a few steps away! Also right around the corner from a Walgreens and some fabulous breakfast spots and other little food gems. It’s amazing what you get for the price. No need to spend thousands at a resort, it’s also a lot more private and less congested. Will definitely be coming back!
Excellent place to stay whether it’s for a weekend, or for a whole week. The manager was very generous towards us and helpful. They provided beach towels, chairs, coolers and anything else you might want to take to the beach (which is only three blocks away). The location of the guest house is near restaurants, coffee shops, Walgreens, gas stations, and bars. They also provided house keeping when we were out and about during the day. The room had AC so we didn’t have to worry about being hot. Manager was only a phone call away with any questions that we had for him. Definitely would stay there again next time we visit Puerto Rico.
We spent there very nice time.Nice location, just a few minutes from beautiful beach. The staff was always helpful and the host very friendly (he speaks not only English & Spanish, but Polish as well!!!!). Across the street were many places to eat.The flat was very nice, comfortable and clean. Many thanks for unforgetable holiday in ANDALUCIA HOUSE !!!Piotr
Very nice location, clean and completely furnished flat including kitchen and parking space for the quests. Near to the beautiful beach and some places to go eat some local food. The staff was always helpful and the host very, very friendly. Surprisingly he speaks not only English and Spanish but Polish as well what a nice surprise !!! We had wonderful time in Andalusia House. Thank you Roberto for the unforgettable stay.
Great place, safe and pleasant. Roberto runs a very nice business, is friendly and knowledgeable. Being so close to the beach and lots of local restaurants is a huge bonus; highly recommended.
Its PERFECT if your looking to come and enjoy the island and have some quiet and peaceful time. Its close enough to everything, Condado, Isla Verde, Old San Juan and various other popular spots are all within 10 minutes from here!!! Roberto and Jaime are spectacular hosts!!! They are very accommodating and friendly. They let me check in earlier being that my flight got in really early!! Gave me a map of the area, and gave me very good suggestions, and personal advice!! I would highly recommend this lovely place if your on a budget and are not looking for perfection. By the way the A.C. was AMAZING, and they have dish network, with hundreds of channels!!! This was my first time here by myself and I am greatful to be in hands of hosts like these!! Also many good restaurants, Walgreens, are walking distance, and the beach is 3 minutes away. And they provide you with beach towels, chairs, sunscreen, etc.. The icing on the cake is you have a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, toster, and a electric stove!!! You save money by buying groceries and making your own breakfast, and have your own beverages. They also have a fridge where you can grab a beverage for one dollar. Also a sun deck and Jacuzzi!! They also have a lot of beautiful plants!!
We had a great stay at Robertos place. The guesthouse is urrounded by shops and restaurants, but most importantly, the beach 3min walking distance.
Nice place, clean, close to the beach, near some great restaurants. Had some problems with the shower, so thats why its only 4 stars. They offered to upgrade our room, but we declined. Booked it on AirBnB with no problems.
Really enjoyed the stay. The room was small, but clean and modern. In the communal courtyard they provided access to beach equipment: chairs, umbrellas, coolers at no cost, however, there were only a limited number of these available. The jacuzzi was clean and well maintained and turned on nightly. Limited free parking is available, but my guess is that during the busy season it fills up quickly. My first impression of the area wasnt very positive, but over the course of our stay I realized that my impression was wrong. South of the guest house, there are some seedy looking areas, but based on the activity of pedestrians at most hours, it appeared very safe. Good restaurants in the area and a CVS just a few blocks away.
