Noted golf course, nature center & trails featured at a riverfront preserve with ancient oak trees.
A beautiful park with trails, open area, and BBQ facilities. Access to the nature reserve and river access.
Great park, ok picnic tables, and lots of trails.
A jewel in Sacramento. Great park, biking and walking trails. Great golf course as well all along the American River.Always make time t o visit when in town to see family.
Ancil was in good condition and the greens healing nicely. Fairways were more generous in rolling out.
Sprawling park and adjoining golf course. Very pretty spot to take walks, bicycle or picnic with the family.
Good place for celebrating 🎉 holidays. Gather with family, friends and schoolmates. Need to come earlier as possible to reserve the vacant place...
Great place to end a gorgeous river float.
Really nice park, nature preserve, golf course and brewery. Go
Love this place. I wish it was closer to my house but I still visit often. sometimes once a week when I get free rooms.
Great place to watch fireworks! we sat right along the river and it was nice and peaceful to sit and watch the water. A little later I walked with my neice and nephew and they had a ton of fun running around.
The kids and dogs love this place. Take yourself, your family etc for a quick trip or a whole day adventure.
This park is our favorite. Huge oaks, rolling greens, and a cool river. The parking is only $6, I think it should be more.I appreciate how security makes sure the homeless dont overrun the place. In my opinion the security is unsung heroes of the place along with the gardening staff.
great place to watch the fireworks if you dont feel like going to Hagan
Launched are raft there , plenty of parking when we arrived at 12:00pm , I wish the bathrooms were open(not crazy about using a port-a-potty)
Great for bike riding, Golfing, soccer or hiking excellent resource for a mild work out.
Great place for a picnic or getting out of the river after you float. We prefer getting out here because its easier to get an Uber back to the takeoff point we left from before floating than some of the other disembarkment points.
Great place to go and enjoy the outdoors without going to far. Theres access to american river for swimming and fishing. Dont go on busy days like fathers day because there are alot of people there that ar Gilling meat and we all know that what goes in must come out. So by the evening theres no toilet paper. If you do go on a busy day I recommend bringing your own.
very pleasant weather to sit under a tree today.. clean .. with roaming wild ducks n wild deers.. n of course (wild)squirrels.. park is clean..lotsa picnic tables and restroom for convenience.my my the American River has really gone right down from like ..2 years ago..
Wonderful hiking along the river, beautiful scenery, clear water, wildflowers are plentiful, lots of birds.Nature center is always interesting to visit, displays, a Perigrin falcon, and wonderful staff.
Very clean and beautiful place to go with your family and friends.
The Park was clean and inviting. Lots of families out enjoying the open spaces and beautiful weather. Looking forward to our next trip to Ancil.
I like this park. You have Effie Yeaw, Anxil Hoffman golf course, and the American river all in one place. Lots of picnic tables for BBQs and partys. Trails for exercising and nature walks.
This is the hidden jem in the American River Parkway. Lots of bike and hiking trails, with the bonus of river access.
Very nice park on the river. Lots of people but the park is huge! Lots of grassy areas to picnic, play games, etc on. Several benches also available. There’s a nice little trail to the river!
Love this park! Makes for a beautiful walk. Plenty of nature...hawks, geese, deer, an occasional coyote, and the American River. This is a great spot for bird watchers! You can also find shaded picnic tables.
I love the direct access to the river. Its not crowded; and theres the huge green park for picnicking
In decent shape throughout. Some of the tee boxes should be aerated, difficult to push in a tee & ground was compacted.
Nice walkable nature park. Lots of small children. Center closed. Restrooms closed. Near American River. Postings said no fishing, yet there were several men with rods.
The course is in great condition on this November day in Fall. Lots of downed leaves but the lift clean and place rule as well as the leaf rule is in place.
Beautiful course and great staff!! Never seen so much wildlife on a course, EVER! Must have been 10 deer and 50 geese.
Great park, you dont have to pay much to enter the park $5. Its near a golf course across the park itself (whoever might be interested in golfing later or in future- I dont know anything about the golf course by the park though-They have pathways to walk your dogs or walk individually. The only small issues there might be is that there might be a bit of steep walk down to the river (for some people).Another thing that some people might not like is that the bathroom is a bit too far away from the lake and the parking is limited (again it depends for everyone). There is a limit in parking (good amount but can be tough to find a spot in peak hours).Otherwise, I would say that this is a great place, good tables(you can cover them with tablecloth if anything), beautiful nature and beautiful place in general. This location is nice for family, pets and individual walks or picnics or any other occasion. In general, would I recommend this park? Yes, I would recommend this park for anyone who wants to go outside, celebrate, and/or explore and relax in nature.Everyone has their own tastes of course, this is how I view the park. Anyone who wants to see it in person for their own curiosity, personal knowledge, or even for their own personal experience are welcome to do so.I hope everyone has a great day! I hope everyone stays safe as well!Have a fantastical day/night!- These are my personal opinions and views, if it upsets or offends someone, I apologize in advance. Its not meant to cause anyone harm or offense. -
We love coming here! Great place alto go with kids.
Best place ever! A great place to relax and enjoy nature.
Beautiful scenery, I enjoy sitting by the river, and taking a walk down the nature trail!
The kids had a blast this last Saturday! There were deer out and wild turkey wondering around. The weather was amazing! We walked the nature trails and seen a buck, many does, Turkeys, and hawks. Let the kids have a rock throwing contest to see who can throw the furthest in the river! My grandson is almost 4 and he had so much fun! The nature center was open, but it does close at 2PM and remember to bring your masks. After the nature walk we drove to the picnic area ate lunch and the kids broke up in to teams and played football. Recommend you make a day of it and bring lunch and have fun!
Golfing, a nature walk (with many paths and settings to choose from), a nature center, and grassy areas to rivers edge all provide reasons to visit...regularly.
Great park, love the golf course. Too bad there was a grass fire in the park yesterday. We saw turkeys and deer in the park.
BBQs, bathrooms, and park is clean. Park staff are kind and helpful. Water is crisp and clear but cold. Very peaceful. Kudos for all park staff.
Beautiful park with wonderful wildlife and bird watching opportunities. There is a nice building with some special animals and interesting information about the local fauna as well as some gift shop items. Its very inexpensive for parking and worth a visit for anyone who enjoys nature. The trails are ideal for a walk and the river is nearby.
This park is such a treat, Theres an amazing golf course as well as a wonderful nature center Effie Yeaw. Theres also huge open areas for having fun or picnicking all tucked next to the American River and last but not least and one of my favorites is the cross country trail that wraps around the whole facility.....
Great local park, golf course and American River access. Good place for group events.
Ive been coming to Hoffman since I was a kid and now I enjoy bringing my kids there. Its a beautiful park and place to see the river. We almost always see deer on our visits and if you come in the evenings when the sun is starting to go down its almost guaranteed. Park over in the nature center parking lot in the early evenings and meander around that area to see the deer coming out to graze. Lots of good walking trails and shaded places to have picnics or BBQs. Come explore and enjoy the beauty and peacefulness.
A nice clean park, perfect place to hike and chill for the day, the park features a wide variety of wildlife with the inclusion of mountain lions (Although very rareand deers, it also has a clean flowing river which offers a nice breeze on a hot day, with places to sit down and have a BBQ.Sublime on a nice sunny day, it is without doubt worth a visit if you appreciate the outdoors.
There are beautiful, gentle trails with good signage. We saw many birds and animals and had a good time. The staff was friendly and helpful.
It may not have that big of animal collection, but it sure is one of the most beautiful places in Sacramento. My favorite is the river trail, beautiful nature and river sound melt all the stress away. The staff are really nice in Effie Yeaw especially Mr. Rudy, he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the nature and his art. Consider chipping in if you pay them a visit, all the donations go for the animals care and the park services.
The Nature area is very peaceful and has lots of wild animals roaming free. I grew up nearby and it was like our American river playground when I was young.
Great place for group of people to meet together, even the whole church can spend a good time and rest.
Love this nature center. The trails make you feel like you really are very far from all the hustle and bustle of the city.
This park is huge and natural. Dogs, kites, horses all welcome. The highlight is the Effie Yeaw Nature Center. That is unless youre a golfer.
This is a great easy hike along the river and great for families. If youh have small children you may need to hold a hand in some areas nears the river but there is plenty of other trail space where they can toddle alone.
