Ancient Water System - Museum in Kafr Mandā, Israel
It was an amazing activity, a bit extreme for the children and for parents also a lot of fun. A beautiful routes and the owners of the place are charming!
Fun and exciting! Be sure to bring extra clothes and undies 😁
It is nice to walk the spring water underwater tunnel that lead to the Roman aqueduct. It is up to 70cm high, and wet all had lots of fun getting wet. Only for stars, because the walk its only about 30 min. We would be happy if they extend the trip further down.
Very interesting tour of the Roman era water supply system to ancient cesaria. But theyre charging 10euro to walk in the water for 20 minutes, which is really exaggerated!
Its nice but too expensive for 30 minutes experience,
Nice and cool. good when the weather is hot for young kids
Nice and refreshing for hot days, but very short tunnel and not worth the cost. 300 meters, about 15 minutes (not including a short film at the beginning). Not suitable for most walking young children- at some areas the water reaches their chest.
A walk in an underground Roman aqueduct. Its about 200m, and the running water is mostly mid calf high. At one point the water reaches up to high thigh for about 15m. This is a fun and relatively short activity and from here you can go to Zichron Yaakov, or other places in the area. Plenty of parking. The place also rents out carts and bikes for rides in the area, separately priced from the entrance to the tunnel.Bring a flashlight, preferably a head mounted type to leave your hands free to hold the walls, but one free hand is enough. Immersable shoes/sandals, a must.
A small secret aqua cave
Very nice experience.Perfect for hot days.Very wet and refreshing!
Very fun
If you like caves and dont afraid from acold water, this is nice place for family with small children, for one hour or a picnic.
Pretty short, but ok for the money. Bring flashlights with you.
Great experience for parents and children! A little too expensive for simple and short activity.
Fun experience and easily accessible. You can buy a small flashlight in the entrance and after a short film about the ancient pipeline you can actually walk in it.
Nice Park. Dont forget a torch. A short trail in a cool dark ancient water tunnel.
Kids liked it a lot, short, fun and sweet
So nice to get out of the sun and enjoy fresh waters and shade of the cave.
What a fun place. The attraction is really unique: walking in waist high water (depending on seasoninside ancient Roman water canals. Awesome! They do it organized groups every few minutes. The downside is its pretty short. 45 min if you walk really slow and for that short experience the price is not low.Theres a dressing room to change clothes after you get wet and a small kiosk to buy some ice cream. Plenty of parking, albeit on dirt with lots of dust when cars drive around.
Great family fun with head lights and knee deep water as you go back in time to the Roman period in Israel. Nice and helpful staff and a shaded place to picnic
A unique place!Definitely worth a visit
It is good..but facilities like toilet and washrooms must be developed..
Really nice park.lots to do.But be sure to check if there a school trip at the time.
Nice place to hike, to run and to ride. Green trails, fresh air and breathtaking views.
Interesting and well maintained Roman site, doable in 20 minutes (walking through ancient water tunnels dug 2000 years ago). English speaking guide available
Nice 20 minutes walk in the cave, but not really worth the price
Nice.Need to bring flashlight.
Our family really enjoyed in this place!
Nice and easy.
Great option for kids - walk inside a 2000 year old aqueduct full of water
It smells really bad because of the surrounding agriculture, bathrooms are dirty, and the walk is very short. But it is very interesting and the experience is very cool if you are with friends in the tunnels.
Great park to visit in the winter. For a short hike park in Mei Kedem parking lot, go left 250 meters until you reach a gravel road and take left again. You will get to a hill, clime it and from the top keep walking until you reach a bee hive (dont confused it with the first be hive in the start of the hill). Turn left in the bee hive and keep walking until you reach a fence. Continue straight and keep left with the road untill you enter a forest. When you exit from the small Forest and passing the fence, take left to to another gravel road. Take left and left and you will across a field an entrance to a bike path. Enter it until you reach the staring point.took us around 2 and half hours.
The best place for MTB tracks. As well I see there a lot runners and road bikes around. Also good for family travels.
A Roman water tunnel that lead water to caesaria. Water are still running. Water level varies with season. Can reach 1 meter. Great tour, also for hot days.
Great site. Bring water shoes and dry pants. The water in the tunnel was 90cm+ high!
The tour was short, but a great way to cool off on a hot day. Keep in mind that there is nothing to do their besides the tunnel.
Very impressive Roman water tunnel. The early part of Caesereas water system. Great way to spend a hot summer day. Takes about an hour.
Fun thing to do on a hot day. Recommended to wear shorts or a mini dress as water rises above the knee in some places.
It was closed. We enjoyed a closed booth and a sign saying that the site is closed in the Autumn and winter seasons: from November to may. The rating is based on the previous visit.
What a waste of money! 30 nis for what? Walking in an underground tunnel with some water? There is no picknik area and its not allowed to eat in the area of the park. All of that is ok but for what reason, entrance cost 30 nis?I dont recommend visiting this place
I went on a family hike with my spouse and 4 kids (ages 5 to 10). Very fresh, water trail that lasts 280 meters inside a cave (everyone needs water shoes and flash lights). Place is clean and well preserved. 10% discount if you have Matmon card.
Another example of elegant roman engineering, built to carry water from natural spring to the port of Cesaria - a more than 20 km aqueduct by using gravity ! You will walk through a part of this tunnel system restored and maintained for tourists. The tunnel is filled with water (maximum height is up to above knee), wear shorts and slippers to walk though it.
The caves are nice and water flow is great for walking in the cave, staff is extremely nice and helpful, but thier is not much to do their, except for the cave which is about a 20 min walk at Max.
Great trip for the whole family, including a video explaining the history of the place. Would not suggest taking babies or kids afraid of narrow, wet, dark places. Definitely take along crocs or sandals for the trek through the cold water.
Walking through the tunnels was an interesting experience. Be sure to bring closed shoes or sandals (although bear in mind you will be walking in thigh high water in places). Open sandals wont work and you cant do this barefoot. Also, it may not be great for people who are claustrophobic and smaller kids who may feel uncomfortable walking through relatively deep water.
Great bike trails all around. Highly recommended for both road and off-road cycling.
Cool experience to walk in an ancient water tunnel that was used to transport to the caesarea city. its 27 shekels for adult and 20 for a child up to 17 years old. Its about a 20 minute tour in the tunnel and one watches a short 5 minute video explaining the history of the place. Tour guide is a must and can be in English or Hebrew.
Great location for kids in hot summer dsys
I visited the [lace when the park was closed. The area is very nice, shallow hills, vine yards. palm trees. Great place to visit and play with kids during the afternoon.
A fun an unqiue experience of exploring the ancient aquaduct system of Caesarea Maritima. Invloves walking in a 150 m underground water tunnel. KIDS LOVE IT!!
