I could not have chosen a better way to mark half a decade into marriage. Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort exceeded my expectations in all ways possible. We were greeted by Ms. Happy and Mr. Joseph at the Jabal Al Dhannah Port. And boy, werent we happy with the welcome?! We were scheduled to depart at 3 pm, as per the ferry timings, but Ms. Michelle arranged a special ride for usprior to that, that warmed our hearts! The ferry driver, Mr. Selwyn was an expert, no denying that! And he was courteous enough to stop when he spotted sea-cows and allowed us to click pictures. We hit land and were greeted by Mr. Ayoob, who drove us to the resort in a very comfortable and posh car, all the time providing us information on the island and its history. At the front desk, Ms. Michelle and Ms. Sasandi, Ms. Rebecca and Ms. Roxina guided us through our stay with their melodious voices and smiley faces. Our villa at Al Yamm was "paradise". It had amazing facilities and was worth the drive all the way from Dubai. Independent pool, private beach, the peacocks... I could go on and on and on!!!Mr. Deepu, the bartender, was a great, great help to us. Whatever he suggested on the menu, was a delight to our palates! And he makes THE BEST cocktails in the world! There was a slight glitch with respect to sheesha arrangements, but Ms. Asri, the Deputy Manager (if Im not mistakenwas quick to overcome it and compensate for our time lost. Special thanks to the management for the same!We witnessed the sunrise next morning, had a sumptuous breakfast and started for the wildlife safari.Mr. Abdullah, who was our guide, was well versed with each and every part of the ecosystem at Sir Bani Yas Isalnd. Hats off to his knowledge! We were lucky- we spotted Cuba, the Cheetah! Then it was time for the journey back to the ferry station with Mr. Hashim as the driver. It is a long review and I hope Ive brought justice to each and everyone who made our stay an extremely memorable one.Thank you, Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort!
So, we used the cups and cutlery from the coffee station in the villa, and when housekeeping came for turn down service, he took the spoons and cups to the bathroom sink to wash by hand (no dish soapand put them back.We were in the villa at the time, so I waited to see if he really will put them back, and when he did I told him they should be replaced and taken to be washed properly, not with his hand and water in the bathroom sink. When I called the reception to complain she didn’t sound surprise at all. She said if you want them replaced you can request in-room dining to get a replacement, and when I pointed out that we had used them, and obviously they should be replaced, she just said yes you are right that is the right way, I will inform management.Makes me wonder if they actually replaced them after the previous guests, or just washed them with water in the bathroom sink.We ordered room service on the first day, and for cutlery that wasn’t properly washed and cleaned, there were traces of food.We asked for a baby cot and the one they get us had the screws loose (which is dangerous, because it could fall apart any secondthe guy who got us the cot grabbed a knife from the coffee station and used it as a screwdriver and then went to put it back..I’m sorry, but I thought I was in a 5 star hotel? Needless to say, that didn’t work and the screw was still loose, our baby slept in bed with us.The food is a disappointment, there’s only one restaurant and the in-room dining menu is very limited, and the quality is not that good. The photos of the beach look beautiful until you get here and realise you can’t step foot there because of all the rocks. Not what you would except from a 5 star hotel. We will never come back and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone at all. For the time spent to get to this place, it was not worth it.To me, cleanliness comes before anything, and because of that, I’m giving them a 1-star rating. You would be better off staying in Saadiyat island, better hotel options, and the most beautiful beach!
It was amazing place and good experiance. This my second time visit in same place never get enought. The staffs and service was amazing and special thanks to Mr.Joseph
Amazing place. Special thanks to Delano, Delilah and Shazoon for going above and beyond for us.
We’ve had a really great weekend, we enjoyed our stay at Anantara alyamm, the room is clean and the views from the villa was amazing you’ll see animals walking around like ghazals. There are three restaurants around that you need to book an appointment before going to, Olio the Italian is the closest we went walking the other restaurants you need to request a car to go to and the staff is very friendly and helpful they arranged everything including activities for us. We tried the safari and the tour guide explained everything and he had a very great knowledge about the island, animals, birds and plants. A very special thanks to all of them for making our stay smooth and enjoyable.
The UAE 🇦🇪 version of the Maldives 🇲🇻 but with higher end service and animal preservation landscapes.
The place is like a heaven on Earth, not just because of the beauty of the island but because of the most kind people we have ever met. We will never forget you and looking forward to come back and see you all. If you are looking for the privacy, facilities on the highest level, if you are an animal and wildlife sanctuary lover…this is the place you have to visit at least once in your life. Thanks to all of the Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island team for all great memories! Especially thanks to Rebecca and Milhan team, we will never forget how you guys took care of us! Deni & Juraj
Love it !The private villa was beautiful and elegant, the view of the mangroves was extraordinary with birds and deers around..The staff was very friendly, and made us feel very special especially the Thomson ( life guard Khalid ( safari guide made our day. .The island is big enough filled with cage free birds and animals. The food is very yummy and being so close to the beach with the ocean waves as background while dining is amazing. Its definitely a 10/10 experience.
Absolutely stunning, me and my wife share a birthday so we thought we would celebrate our 30th in style. A few days in the executive villa at Al yams went above and beyond our expectations. The staff at the arrivals center were fantastic, they looked after us while we waited half an hour for our transfer with coffee and some snacks, then we went for a little walk and saw 2 turtles in the beautifully blue sea.Once we made it to the island we were taken to the reception area to be greeted with fruit juice and a little shoulder massage while we were checking in which was very much appreciated and then we were taken to our villa. We had a gorgeous spacious villa with a plunge pool which was absolutely fantastic during the hot days. The large bath and large clean bathroom was very easy to use without getting in each others way!We had a fantastic time reading in the plunge pool and watching the peacocks and gazelle come and go from the mangroves. We had a fantastic view from our bed of the sunrise which we made sure to watch every morning and we felt so looked after, we will return!Having the room with the plunge pool was great because we simply kept to our room and didn’t go to the main pool which made it all feel so intimate, we ate at olio restaurant full board which was amazing, but I’ll post a separate review for this!
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villas. The staff were very welcoming & friendly. The villa was spacious & clean. The water sport center made our stay more memorable. We had an incredible scuba diving, snorkling and fishing experience. The different types of fishes under the water made our scuba diving & snorkling experience more appealing. Along with other the water activities we engaged in. The Wildlife Safari Tour was an enjoyable expirence. We got to see the Cheetas, Giraffes and other creatures. Moreover, the restaurants in the island where a 10. We tried Al Sham & Olios restaurant and both served delicious dishes.
The place was absolutely amazing ! We loved everything about it - the location, facilities, villas, but especially the service. The front desk team, the F&B team, room service, and everyone working there made us feel very comfortable and welcome. I would like to extend a special Thank You to Chef Jalal for taking extra step and making Vegan food for me for breakfast as the buffet usually does not contain many vegan options. Not at every hotel they would want go extra length to accommodate a request regarding vegan food, but this one here was absolutely 110% committed. Whether it was breakfast buffet, or dinner, or some finger food and something to snack on at the pool - it was fantastic.Thank you to Delilah, the manager, Sonia (the coffee you made was soo good!), Kamran, Pankaj and Depu - really tasty drinks you made ! Thank you Thompson, the lifeguard, for making our stay at the pool very enjoyable! We would surely want to come back again !
The place, customer service, amenities, food and activites are amazing. Ms Delilah is very accommodating. She’ll be glad and happy to assist you with a smile.
A place to go with kids. Nice safari experience. Food is not so great by the way, avoid Italian place.
The location is premium, the service is great, the villas are big and very local in style. Not very fond of the floor which imitates a clay floor. A lot of animals and birds around. Great experience!
Amazing resort. Superb hospitality and best Italian and African food. Its a paradise in the desert. Excellent safari.
Extremely disappointing stay with service way way below par. Raised a complaint and someone called while I was in a meeting and promised to call back within an hour which did not happen. Extremely unprofessional.
The property is fantastic. The nature reserve even better. The Al Yamm villas are great. The service levels and food quality arent at the usual Anantara levels.Overall, a resort that doesnt live up to its potential.
The food is mediocre at best. The service is appalling.Five star here means nothing. The staff is not trained properly. It’s like being in a glorified motel. The villas are ten years old but look like they were built and decorated in the 90’s. The way they were built gives you no privacy whatsoever. There is ample space on the island. Why did they have to build them one on top of the other so you can hear and see everything next door is a mystery. And not a pleasant one. They don’t clean the pool panes because it’s windy. So you do it yourself otherwise you can’t see through. What the front desk staff is good at is to come up with lame excuses for everything they don’t do.They can’t even keep a timetable for the boat departures. Every day they give you a different answer so at the end of you stay you just sit and wait because they don’t talk to each other. It’s like they do it on purpose. When you express your disappointment they shrug their shoulders in the most careless way.You can spend the same money elsewhere and get a much better service.Waste of precious money unless you want to live a faulty towers expensive experience on a desert island.
very friendly ground staff, one of the worst Italian restaurant. overated facility, not worth the money. you rather stay at Al sahel or Desert resort. issue with the attitude of the management. they need to realize always name wont sell.
The staff were helpful and pleasant, especially the Restaurant staff and house keeping staff. They went am extra mile to make us feel comfortable. On the other hand was expecting a private villa with private pool. But the villas have no privacy, have overlooking neighbours. The pool size was another disappointment. It should have been advertised as a jacuzzi!Being a higher category of room, expected something better than the lower category room. But totally got disappointed. Al Yamm Beach Villa Pool is totally not worth the money.
I had an amazing time , highly recommend for people seeking quite relaxing time away from the city vibes the staff were great from Othman who did my booking to Kate the safari guide to Hanifa the waters to the driver jawed.
One ticked off our UAE bucket listSo the photos turned up in my timeline , visited Anantara Baniyas 2 years back , summer at its peak , drive is pleasure as you can drive at 160 once you cross Abu Dhabi city , enough stops to have lunch , snacks and plenty of ADNOC pumps. You can stop at Ruwais city for meals , ensure you have enough time in hand , it’s about 20 minutes from Ruwais city to Jetty.Hospitality begins at the jetty to the hotel ,ensure you stick to time of jetty.Fun 30-45 minute ride to the island and another 20 minutes from baniyas jetty to the hotel.Who would believe it’s a sanctuary in middle of ocean on a desert island.Have your safari tour booked in advance , best would be for early morning one.Poolside is pretty amazing and the staff attentive and very helpful , food is great and great views of ocean and the island.Must visit definitely a have to do resort.
Stayed there from 06/04/2021 until 08/04/2021:Not many negatives but just a few suggestions:-Indian restaurant, sadly the Island doesnt have much variety of restaurants but you can trot to the other resorts and eat there but be sure to book cause they can fill up. Olio was the top restaurant in our opinion-Club Sandwich for the in-room dining. This is more of a me thing but I felt like the in-room dining had limited choices on Al Yamm-Boat from Abu Dhabi Island to Sir Bani Yas. I dont know if this will save time, but driving to the Jetty is quite and drive and stressful because you end up worrying if youll make it on time, and if you miss the boat, its another 3 hour wait approximately.-Bicycles for guests to explore the island. There doesnt seem to be any and I believe its because it might be dangerous to cycle at night since its pitch dark? Now the good stuff! The people who make up the resort is what really gives this place the WOW factor. Yeah there are animals roaming around and the views are amazing, but everyone has a great story and theyre just really friendly and nice, you dont get that with the deer and peacocks.+ Greeted by the lovely Odeon and Joseph at the Jetty station. Beautiful sunset trip to Sir Bani Yas Island. Weather was cooler on the island than Abu Dhabi city.+ Our driver Sayeed in the Island gave us a brief history about the Island which was great, its larger than Abu Dhabi Island!+ At reception we got greeted by the amazing Ms. Retno with a lovely rose lemonade drink. Throughout the stay she was all smiles and it was truly appreciated. When we arrived to the room there was a cake waiting for us and the bed was specially made up as we were celebrating a birthday+ 2 days is not enough but we tried to do as much as we can. Dinner that day was the Lebanese restaurant in the Desert Island and the Falafels were superb, never had anything like them in Abu Dhabi.+ Breakfast was at Olio which was just handy, we woke up to catch the sunrise and went Kayaking early in the morning at Desert Island with Mouneir the lifeguard who was really nice and was patient with us. When we went for breakfast they had a lovely selection, I did feel bad for the staff there as they insisted on putting things for you on your plate and I understand that it was to due to COVID-19 measures but felt like it was too much. Its a bit tough when you have the breakfast rush and 2 people are trying the help everyone. You can ask for crepes from the chef, sort of a secret menu item. I would suggest going back for lunch, they are the best restaurant on the whole and not just because of the food but the staff there like Hanifah, Priyanka, Shims (Mans got a great sense of humor, keep the jokes coming!), Delilah and everyone else whom I sadly cant remember their name+ Wildlife drive was excellent, went for 9AM and we had the lovely Ali show us around and give us a lovely history of the Island, and we got to see the giraffes and cheetahs and all types of birds they take care of in the island. We also ended up going with him on the bike tour later that day and he knew a lot of great tracks.+ BEST PART: We were lucky enough to get a late check out on our last day and I just wanted to thank Hossein, Retno, and the management at Anantara for taking care of us. Will definitely come back and recommend friends to go!
Wonderful short break here in the UAE, really great for families with children aged 6+Im giving it a 4 star as it wouldve been better if there are more Food and beverage choices, as well as more options for moving around the island and self exploring like maybe have electric buggy rentals for residents. Its also very important to actually explore the activity options and book them beforehand. We also found out that you can use any of the pools free of charge amongst the three Anantara properties as well as have breakfast in any of the properties for a small fee provided there is availability. We especially enjoyed the horse riding experience on the beach it was absolutely magical!
Amaaazing experience, staff are super welcoming and polite, food in olio restaurant is delicious! The villas are nice and the place is quite and calm we really enjoyed our stay thereIt won’t be our last time for sure 😍😍
TL;DR:- Try the nature walk or safari: go early for more animals & bring sturdy shoes and sunscreen- Go to the theme nights if you get the chance; especially Mediterranean night at Olio- Book activities and spa in advance for the best scheduleMy wife and I stayed in a one bedroom villa in the middle of February, and we could not be happier with our stay. The resort and island are amazing by themselves, but the staff and food put everything over the top. We will 100% be staying here again. We drove from Abu Dhabi. Google said the drive would be around 2.5 hours, but we made it in less than 2. Our ferry seats were arranged by the hotel in advance and there was no extra charge. The ride took about 20 minutes and we were taken by shuttle to our resort; the whole process was very smooth. Leaving was just as smooth; when we checked out at noon, we gave our luggage to the staff and headed to the spa before our 4pm ferry. We boarded the shuttle from the main resort and our bags met us back on the mainland without a hitch. At our resort we were greeted by Ms. Retno who was our main contact at reception throughout our stay. She took excellent care of us and was a huge part of making our stay great. We arrived at the resort before check-in, but our villa was ready before we could finish lunch. We ate lunch at Olio, the restaurant located in the Al Yamm resort in which we were staying. The food at Olio was great and I loved their staff as well; we also enjoyed their daily breakfast. My wife and I chose some excursions we wanted and discussed spa plans which Retno worked into a smooth itinerary for us. I recommend booking extras well in advance, by phone or email before arrival if possible. Retno was able to get us into the spa that afternoon, but the spa didnt have availability for the 90 minute massage that we wanted. Our first night we enjoyed African food at Savannahs boma theme night(outdoor bbq). There was African music on the house speakers ranging from pop to traditional drums. The buffet style food was arranged in cast iron kettles over coals and there was an awesome grill. Despite the large bonfire it did get pretty chilly, but there were blankets available on request. On our last night we enjoyed the first Mediterranean themed night at our favorite restaurant Olio. My favorite was the build-your-own Italian style pizza, but everything was top-notch. The chef Yogi made some fantastic gluten-free pasta especially for my wife, who has celiac disease. As for activities, we started the first morning with a 9am Nature & Wildlife Drive (aka safari). This was our favorite activity, our guide Delano was very personable and was happy to answer all of our questions. We also got very up close and personal with a few of the resident giraffes. In the evening we did the Culture & History Tour with our guide Navas. This tour wasnt as good as the others and all the same info was on the website. The second full day started with a 7am Nature walk with Ali. The walk was about 4km through a 9 square km fenced area; youll want to bring some sturdy shoes. There were many animals including deer, gazelles, oryx, sheep, emu, birds, and about 25 giraffes. We were able to get within 20 meters of the animals which resulted in great pictures. Our last activity was the Discovery Conservation tour with guide Khalid. This was neat, but it focused on penned animals. We went to the spa twice during our stay and our therapists Thao and Mon took excellent care of us both times. If youre like me and tend to get a little dehydrated on vacations, you might want to ask for a bottle of water near the table so that you can take a quick drink when you roll over... I was parched! After the massage we enjoyed refreshments in the indoor/outdoor relaxation area.Overall we had an awesome time. We do recommend ear plugs if youre a light sleeper. Also, the beaches are reclaimed from the sea so it is shell sand instead of being soft. These are very minor things and we loved our villa, the staff, and the food.
Very relaxing, clean and quiet. The only thing I didnt like is there is no privacy between villa ,maybe the hotel management can extend the fence between villas a little bit , when i stay at my terrace I can clearly see my nighbour and we stare at each other
Absolutely loved our stay here. The island has so much to offer. The private cabins are everything we expected. Service was fantastic.
Our stay was just wonderful! From making the booking u til checking out of the hotel- it was all outstanding. The rooms are spacious and very cozy. We stayed at the beach villa and the view from the room is magical.Room service was so on point as well as the quality of the food. The seafood BBQ by the water in the main hotel building was unforgettable. Live cooking stations, sashimis, paellas and more. Chef Yogi is an amazing Chef who is so passionate about his food. The staff throughout the stay was very friendly, helpful and cooperative. If you are looking to get away, be surrounded by birds and animals, wake up to beautiful views and indulge delicious food- Sir Bani Yas is the place for you.
Very nice resort, got to see plenty of peacocks 🦚 there . that was the ultimate experience..... while you’re having breakfast in an open restaurant you can see them around you dancing. Completely loved it .
I had the one bed room villa beach view with pool. It was very convenient and nice. However it’s recommended to go between October and March to avoid humidity and high temperatures. We have did the safari activity which is one and half hour 315 aed per person and its a must to do actually. There is only one place which have Sheesha and its outdoor only so wasn’t that much convenient actually. Food price is in range except for buffet which is around 360 aed per person which is quite expensive. 2 nights is the best time for a couple to spend it here.
If you want to leave it all behind and relax with nature than Sir Bani Yas could be for you. Horse riding, kayaking, safari rides and a spa, you will be well looked after. The history of the island is also rather interesting, especially why the cheetahs were introduced. You might be surprised!Get there by seaplane or boat both are good fun for everyone!
I loved it! Quite... relaxing.... peaceful.... beautiful! We stayed one night in one the villas facing the mangroves. It was a beautiful and well equipped villa. It smelled a bit funny and the bed was way too soft however it was a wonderful experience. The resort has a pool (not too bigsun chairs, snorkelling equipment and kayaks for the guests to use. There is an Italian restaurant onsite and in the same place they serve a very nice breakfast. It is allowed to use facilities in other resorts and to go for dinner in other hotels. We went to the African restaurant which was ok, nothing really special and way over priced. We did the safari drive. A bit expensive 315 dirhams for 1.5 hours however we loved it.Our tour guide Mark, was very professional, very passionate about his job and gave us so much information.Overall it was quite expensive experience but totally worth it!
Have to book into ferry early, register with ID, then wait say 30 mins for ferry. You check into hotel on the other side. Overheard couple in front voicing same question I had. Why cant you check-in while waiting for the ferry, as its only for hotel guests? The ferry then broke down and we had to go across in the workers boat. Cest la vie. But, they lost one of our bags in the move. Turned up by midnight, so could have been worse. When you arrive on the island it is at a small general purpose dock with fishing boats etc, then on to a bus to shuttle to the hotel. Didnt feel like a very up market experience to me. Suppose you could see it as colourful!
This was our first visit to Anantara Sir Baniyas Island and it was amazing we loved it. Safari tour was memorable. I never saw a giraffe just 1 feet away from me I could touch it and other wild animals were there too.
We just visited excellent Italian Restaurant (had a great dinner thereand havent been guests to Privat villas but just from view at them I would say its meant more for couples enjoying vacation and searching not to be disturbed than for families with small children. Nevertheless very nice place.
It was terrific. The service was impeccable. It was clean. Everything ran right on time. Attention to detail. Jennan, the manager at Al Yamm and her staff did everything to make our stay unforgettable. Marelie, was an excellent safari guide. Very informative and passionate about her work. Even the ferry station was well organized, friendly and helpful. Also impressed with the ferry boat cleanliness and timeliness. Although pricey it was worth it and highly recommend this property.
From the beginning it was a very memorable long weekend. We were greeted with with an unexpected mini massage while checking into this lovely resort. After proceeding to our room with a guided tour we were surprised with tropical flowers and greetings in our room. Our full board package was lovely with a variety of food for breakfast and dinner. The seafood restaurant was just delightful and Kim, our waitress was full of personality and catered to each of our needs. We spent the day walking around the vast empty beaches and although they were fully booked we had the beach to ourselves and were able to swim with DOLPHINS by chance!! We attended the African barbecue which the waitress Lovely, helped to make my finaces birthday a memorable one. We took the Wadi walk which proved to be quite informative and we saw sharks swimming at the beach on the return drive. All together was a memorable trip that we would definitely do over and over again!
