This place takes me back to the beatnik type restaurant, group of young ones making a generational place come alive with a clean environment even though its an old dwelling they are making an honest effort and living out of there specialty restaurant. We were looking for a vegetarian place to eat and the nurse from Oshei Childrens Hospital suggested this place. Im impressed. One less star because they didnt have the cookie I wanted, still they substituted with another item. Good work young ones😋

My favorite hole in the wall. Amys place has great cheap food with breakfast served all day long. Their vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. The mismatching cups and plates are always fun too. Very homey.

Have been visiting this place for years when we visit the Buffalo area. A good vegan and vegetarian spot. Our last visit was mildly disappointing, too much oil.

I really wanted to like this place since I am a vegetarian and they have a lot of vegetarian/vegan options, but my meal was almost inedible. The veggie burger had a weird cleaner taste to it, and the vegetarian chili tasted like a can of tomato paste. I got roasted vegetables for an extra $3 on the side and they were so greasy it went through the takeout box. The staff was amazingly friendly, but the food is just really below expectations

Try the tofu sizzle strips. Trust me babe.

We showed up at 6:10pm and was seated at our table with there being two other tables in the restaurant, one of which was already eating.We sat at our table for about 40 minutes before our entire party was forced to move to a different table, as they were caught off guard by their own improve comedy event that was going to be taking place where we were sitting.We didn’t get our food until 7:07pm, so it took about an hour for our meals to come out with only another group of two being in front of us. I got an impossible burger, of which most of the flavor actually came from the burnt edges of it, which is saying something.In complete fairness our waitress was super nice to us and was very attentive, coming to our table multiple times to check up on us and giving us refills. As well, the fries were bangers.Overall the vegans of the group loved this place and the rest of us had to get food elsewhere after to fill up. It probably tastes better to those already accustomed to vegan foodstuffs, but for anyone whose not, I would recommend to pass and go to a McDonalds instead.

Great service and a really inviting vibe. Bathroom was clean.Food was good, I had the combo breakfast and the french toast was incredible! The lentil scramble was under seasoned though. My partner had vegan wings and they were very hard on the outside, but otherwise really good.

This is definitely not the same Amy’s Place as before. The food is disgusting and overpriced now. They microwave everything right in front of customers. My food was cold and bland. The dishes were filthy and some of the food was old and starting to rot. The staff is unprofessional. Do not waste your money here.

Best place for vegan food in Buffalo. Strongly recommended...

Greg is great. Get a Margie and be happy. So happy to discover Amys place is back. I rushed over for my first post pandemic Margie Meal. And let me tell you.. it delivered!!! Other places talk about chicken sandwiches, they cant hold a candle to this. Do you like pita? Grilled chicken? Garlic? Hot sauce? Cant be beat.

Update: it seems that the issue concerning my previous complaint has been resolved therefore I am updating to 4 stars.The employees at Amys are very nice and professional, they deserve 5 stars, and the Vegan Mac & Cheese is excellent(taste nothing like mac & cheese but its much better than mac & cheeseand deserves 5 stars.However, owner/managers should always keep in mind that loyal customers and employees are what make a restaurant a huge success and they should always be treated with the highest level of gratitude and respect. You cant charge 5 star prices for tiny portions unless you have a 5 star state of the art facility and dining experience.But who knows maybe Im wrong, I didnt go into the restaurant business, I retired at 38 years old and own rental property and my own $300,000 house that is paid off... what do I know?

Great Buffalo gem! Came here for breakfast, we arrived only 20 mins after they opened and they already had a full house! Lots of veg/vegan options and reasonably priced!

I was orignally happy however they have joined the ranks of the greedy and gluttonous. Vegan mac n cheese was already slightly overpriced for no good reason at $6.50 per large cup.While sunshine vegan eats has lowered the prices of their already lower than Amys place sides like mac n cheese, Amys place charges the most by far and just changed the large cup size vegan mac n cheese to a substantially smaller size cup.Thats not being good nor appreciative of your loyal customers who could easily get the recipe and make a large batch by themselves for $1.50

I have lived five minutes from this place for over 10 years and the food was always great. The price was the best part. I went again about a month ago and the prices were a lot more than they had been and the food was nothing great. Service was not good, they were on the verge of being rude. Was very disappointed...

Not a warm welcome..waiter says sit there! How bout welcome to Amys. This place gave me true racist vibes. Soon as my young lady and I walk in here goes the stares!!!!!!!

Amys Place kept me well fed during my college years in Buffalo. They have fantastic vegetarian and vegan food at great prices with large portions that almost always give you at least two meals. I am very thankful this place exists and I hope it thrives for a long time to come.

Servers are very nice & on top of things. Its a vegan restaurant which is not really my cup of tea on certain things, but liked what I tasted & portions are good.

A Buffalo treasure. Wet shoes are hands down my favorite loaded fries of all time. Great comfort food, casual inclusive atmosphere, excellent value for your dollar.

Always loved this place and wasnt aware turned into a veg place --> which i loved! My vegan french toast were not the best unfortunately as i think they were a bit burned (it happensbut my friend scrambled tofu with seitan strips was delicious!!!!

Never in a million years did I think I would ever leave Amys Place one of my favorite restaurants in Buffalo a bad review. Ive been coming here since I was a teenager and I cant think of one time that Ive ever had a bad experience here. But our visit there last month was a whole different story. I want to start by saying that our waiter was amazing. Hes so nice and just a great waiter every single time. But we walked in, politely asked this woman with blue hair (and I mention that only so theres no confusion about who ruined our time thereif there was any possible way we could sit at a table instead of a booth since theyre kind of small for 4 people. She quickly and in a nasty tone said "Theres a booth open right there." so basically I repeated myself and she doesnt say anything to me but turns around and whispers to another employee about us and says "you can go in the side room". Then because our waiter was amazing, we luckily didnt have to see this woman until we cashed out. My husband asked if we could split the check 2 ways since we were dining with others and this woman goes (again with the most disgusted look on her face and tone"Ill have the waiter come over and do it." So while we were waiting for him, another very nice employee came over and very easily helped us without us asking. As we turn around and let our other guests pay, the blue-haired woman is audibly talking about us. Like you would have thought this woman knew us and hated us or something. Literally insane. Hope her life gets better because holy smokes. I couldnt imagine her having to be nice for one second.

A nostalgic place for most of the people who used to live near University at Buffalo South Campus. And even after 10 year, the quality of the food still remains the same. It is still one of the best vegetarian places to eat in Buffalo.

Lots of vegan options! Got rye bread with vegan butter, home fries, and tofu scramble. Delicious!

The food was really good and the people working there were very friendly. They had a lot of vegan/vegetarian options, I didnt even know what to choose. The atmosphere was nice too, a quaint old fashioned diner with random hipster vibes. The pictures attached are the Basic Veggie burger (side of chipsand a small Mac and cheese (side of veggies). Id recommend them both! My only complaints are that the hot chocolate was super watered down and it was a bit pricey. "Chicken" wing appetizers were $12 when there were like 5 wings. It cost more than the entire veggie burger I got (which was 8.50 I believe). Other than that though, it was a good experience. Ill definitely be coming back!

My husband and I tried Amys Place for the first time this weekend. We are vegetarians, so we were obviously thrilled to find a restaurant with both vegan and vegetarian options! Everything was filling & delicious! Our server was very friendly and the service was fast. It was so fun to try the Buffalo classic Beef on Weck. We cant wait to come back!

Amy’s I hardly knew ye…I’m a Buffalo expat and Amy’s used to be one of the restaurants I visited religiously whenever I was back in town. It was an absolute mainstay, and I loved the tatziki, the Greek salads, and the BLTs. Everything was fresh and delicious, the tatziki was rich and tart, the Greek salads were absolutely covered with feta, and the bacon on the BLT was crunchy.Anyway, that brings me to today. I hadn’t been there for almost two years, what with the plague and all, and I was excited to go back. I can’t overstate how MUCH of a disappointment the new Amy’s is. Someone (in a five-star review no less!said the quality is about what you’d get at Subway, and that is absolutely accurate. Everything just… sucked. Wilted greens, mealy tomatoes, cold grilled cheese, salad dressing that was all oil and no vinegar. They’re now charging extra for cheese on everything now, and the portions are stingy. The two salads pictured had a total of $5 worth of cheese added.At the end of the day I guess it’s a small thing, but I was really tremendously disappointed at how much Amy’s has changed. It used to be my favorite restaurant in Buffalo, and now I don’t think I’ll ever go back again. Unless they make some serious changes I don’t anticipate the restaurant lasting much longer unfortunately.

My honest review of the “New” Amy’s Place. If you are expecting it to be the exactly the same, be aware, it’s not. The food is still amazing, but the portions are smaller, and some toppings are similar to what you may see at a Subway. Meaning onions, cheese, on the Bruce Bowl etc is on the lighter side. In fact if you want cheese make sure to let them know. It’s not included on most items anymore. Not sure if they are worried about cost, but it doesn’t matter, because it’s still affordable, and portions are big enough. It’s just an expectation that I am getting used to. I’ve been going to Amy’s for over 30 years, and extremely happy they are still offering the basics and doing their best regardless of the small and inconsequential changes.It’s still incredible!

Place is dirty. Got sick from the food. I had a Ruben and my daughter had a veggie chicken souvlaki. The only good part was the server Tallulah she was amazing.

Very good food, great service!I had my first ever Beef on Weck, a Buffalo classic normally unavailable to vegetarians (obviously). It was a new dish to me, but very well made and tasted great.The “wings” (picturedalso tasted great, but the medium wings we got were not even remotely spicy. I’d definitely get the hot wings next time.The rest of the family really enjoyed their meals as well!

Awesome greasy spoon breakfast/lunch place! They currently have a few tables out front and capacity inside.The menu is extensive and theres a vegan option for nearly every menu item. Tofu scramble instead of eggs, giant vegan cookies, vegan breakfast meats, vegan chikn sandwich, etc.The vegan beef on weck was AMAZING. The beef on weck is a Buffalo staple and if youre visiting, you must try it! The seitan was absolutely perfect, the roll was on point, it was just a great sandwich.There are also to go containers of Mac n cheese, vegan tuna salad, vegan blue cheese, etc. You can get a half pint, pint, or quart!Note that towards closing they tend to be out of popular dishes but thats fine with us, all the more reason to come back.

Food is very tasty and incredibly affordable! Four people only came to like $32?? Vegan options are FANTASTIC but theres plenty of options for any diet. Waitress with the blue hair was very helpful and nice! Place seemed clean. Overall a bit small/cramped, but not much you can do about a place on Main St.Overall, I cant wait to come here often and Im glad I found this place!

Love this place. Must stop whenever we are in town. Great vegan options, but stuff for every diet. Still going strong. Excellent for a Saturday night quick but to eat. New vegan options are welcome, but not exciting.

I came here with a friends family for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! Amys Place sort of gives me 50s diner vibes, especially with their cash only system. The food was amazing, I had the veggie burger, and I was told that their vegan cookies are delicious as well! The staff were very nice, too! I cant wait to come back to try those vegan cookies!

Parking lot in the back back. The food is pretty good and classic with several vegan (no meatoptions. Usually friendly staff, but they also dont put up with bullsh*t. The photo is of "Area 54" which is a cool music venue just next door to the right of Amys place. Worth checking out.

Give it a try. It’s a good family owned business. I always come to Amy’s place for breakfast/ brunch. I try to avoid having chicken here because 2 out 3 times chicken was chewy, cold and I felt kind of sick after having it. Try the wet shoe fries as they taste really good. Cinnamon toast and pancakes 🥞 were delicious. 3 eggs with cheese and one side is my favorite at this place. I order that most of the time. The downside of this place is the lack of parking. Your luck finding a parking spot on street or in the side local streets. One less star for thatI highly recommend this place for breakfast/ brunch

Pros: Amys Place offers patrons a low-key college vibe restaurant with reasonably priced food items. Their menu is very vegan/vegetarian friendly and some dishes(e.g., their specialty sandwichescan serve as multiple meals.Cons: Parking is limited in the back, but you will find a space if you really want to check out this great restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant only accepts cash. I suppose that is a small price to pay since it encourages more tipping.Recommendations: Please purchase their lentil sandwich(pictured belowif you are a fan of Lebanese based foods. This sandwich is absolutely enormous and it comes in two parts. The picture below is only one half of the sandwich and by default the server will put the rest of the sandwich in a to-go bag. I was insulted by this at first, until I realized that the first segment was only half of the whole sandwich. Most customers are not able to finish the entire sandwich in one sitting.

Thankful Amys Place was open early Monday morning after an 8hr drive to Buffalo! Very friendly staff! They have an extensive menu for an affordable price.Tried VEGAN MAC N CHEESE for the first time- it had a good taste on its own merit (the taste was different from what you would expect from a traditional mac n cheese). The chicken in the CHICKEN SOUVLAKI sandwich was a bit dry. Their HOME FRIES were flavorful as were their WET SHOE FRIES.If youve missed their signs, it is CASH ONLY.

This is a great diner with amazing character. Loved the numerous vegan options. Was slightly surprised by the texture and flavor or the vegan "wings" though - they seemed very meat-ball-y.
