Amici's Cucina - Italian restaurant in Waterville, United States
Very cute local spot with a warm “everyone knows your name” kind of ambiance. Service was good, once it came - a bit haphazard. Food was satisfying if a bit messy on the details
This place was great! Loved the food. Service was excellent. I stopped by with my granddaughter, we were short for time. I asked our waitress for the bill early and explained the situation. She got our food out quickly and packed our leftovers right away. So accommodating!
This place was really delightful. Fettuccine alla Maria was amazing! Service was wonderful, as well.
Excellent wait staff, food left a lot to be desired unfortunately
The food was delicious and freshly made.
This place may be small but very pleasant! The food was light and delicious! The staff are prompt, friendly and make you feel comfortable. Such a good eat and a very lovely time. If you have a chance to visit this restaurant- do so!
A favorite "go to"!!!Great vibes, staff and food!
We ordered Veal Parm. It consisted of a thick breading crust and a thin slice of meat, closer to balogna than veal and no discernable Parm. They also charged $3.00 to share the entry. We wont be back.
The BEST eggplant parm in Maine! I travel all over to eat in Italian restaurants and it was the best I eggplant parm outside of NY.
Fantastic dinner! Best service ever!
Wonderful food, drinks, environment and service. Everyone was very attentive, finished plates were removed almost immediately and despite being busy the food came out very quickly. My husband and I will definitely be visiting again soon.
Very nice atmosphere and great staff, but the menu seems inconsistent with what I would consider Italian cuisine. Many nice Italian options but they aren’t featured as specials, more of a second thought. It would be nice to have a true “North End” experience here in Waterville. We don’t need more pork, salmon or mac n cheese options.
Love this place!! The restaurant works like a well oiled machine. Everyone helps each other..Great service, prices are reasonable..
Best "real" Italian food with handmade pasta and wonderfully yummy sauces. Expensive but so worth it. Call ahead to reserve a table.
We made Google reservations here and got a quick call from staff who somehow just knew we were planning on going to a show at the Opera House and suggested an arrival a few minutes earlier. We agreed and they kept our plans in mind through the entire service. Quick, efficient, great food, and a timely arrival at the show, just can’t say enough good things about Amici’s!!!
Good Italian food and environment but desperately needs a larger space. Difficult to have a romantic dinner when I could reach over and take a bite from another tables plate. Servers are practically stepping on you as they pass.
This establishment was recommended to me by a co-worker. It was everything plus more than I expected. Although I had my meal to go. I didnt feel like I went through a fast food drive thru. The atmosphere in my opinion was laid back and if you are on a date quite romantic. Easy lighting, hushed background, light music. (you can definitely play footsies under the table). Staff dressed in evening attire was really impressive.
My husband took me out for date night (Oct 9.We had tried Amicis years back, were disappointed and hadnt been back but decided to give it another try. It looks so cute from the outside. The lobby is inviting. The staff was very nice. But ...we both left disappointed...again! We found the food to be very bland, nothing special honestly. I had to return my pesto pasta because it was mushy overcooked and tasteless. How is pesto tasteless? My husband also got pasta, at $14 base but then was charged an additional $7 for the thinnest butterfly cut of chicken weve ever seen, and one meatball. Were still laughing about how thin it was. So $21 for his spaghetti dinner with one single meatball and a paper thin piece of chicken is way overpriced for a meal he said he could have made himself. The wait was extremely long, we got there early and had a reservation, it wasnt even busy yet, but thank God for drinks because it took forever to get our food! We left having spent nearly $100 and agreeing that we would never return. It was a bummer. So we walked down the road for drinks and dessert and had a MUCH more enjoyable experience.
The atmosphere, the decor, the staff, the drinks, the food, everything was on point. Highly recommend for a little taste of Italy in downtown Waterville
unbelievable the food, fellow ship, company was top rated. Mary was a beautiful hostess. this is my new bestest restaurant 👍
It was packed the night we were there, and they were understaffed, and yet the SERVICE WAS GREAT! The food was fantastic, too. So impressed with this place!
If I could rate this place I would give them a zero star rating. I ordered the carbonara with chicken and was absolutely disgusted. The smell of it smelled like nasty feet and the chicken was slimy, stunk and tasted absolutely putrid. The only thing that tasted good was the Ceasar salad. Very unhappy with this restaurant and will never eat their again. Complete waste of money with no refund, Apologies or nothing.
Great service and a super friendly staff. Veal parm was great and the deserts were outstanding. Enjoyed the apps, especially the cheese curds. Would go again.
Absolutely delicious!! We had eggplant parmigiana, fettuccini ala maria, chicken carbonara, and the Mona Lisa!! It was so wonderful! Brittney, our server, was great and she even serves her own pickled fiddlehead!!! True Maine girl, keeps her fiddlehead location a secret! We will be back!!!
Food great service was super. Clean place. Everyone was attentive to our needsI would go back and take my family.
We love this place! When you walk in, youre greeted and treated like family. The atmosphere is elegant and the music is Italiano. This place is usually full so be sure to make a reservation, or realize that you may have to wait. While you wait though, make sure to warm yourself with a drink. These people know how to make them! The food is also wonderful! We try to hit this place in our rotation of restaurant visits. We love it here!
Love love love... great food and staff was amazing!! I was catching up with an old friend and time slipped away. The staff was gracious and accomidating, would highly recommend and will definately go back!! Kudos to those that worked 3/5 from 6 to 930pm!
You cannot be disappointed in the food here. If you want Italian this is a great place to go. The portions are good, ambiance if you eat in is authentic, the food is cooked perfectly, and service is top notch.
Food and service was fabulous. Need more spacing between tables. People beside us were closer than 6 feet. This makes me uncomfortable since we are all unmasked while eating.
Always great food and were made to feel like were the most important people in the room when Mary, Angelo or the staff take care of us. Very nice selection of wines, and unique dishes. By the far the best higher end dining in Waterville
Great people, great appetizer, really full of flavor bit the entrees are just not good. 3 people in our party, none of us liked our dinners. Second time we tried it.
Excellent meal, and great service. The food took a while but was a snowstorm which might have messed up the staffing. The chocolate cake was delicious!
The food was wonderful. Service was kinda crazy cause it was packed but the girl we had was outstanding and very patient with us . Took a while for food to come and very loud . Overall I definitely would go again and tell people about it .
Our food was great, the prices are fair for fine dining, and the service was outstanding!! Definitely a place you could go for a romantic dinner, but it also worked well for my daughter and I who just wanted a good dinner and didnt want to hang out there all night. My daughter can be a picky eater but she loved everything too and ate her leftovers this morning for breakfast!
Food was excellent and the service was great
Our family highly recommends going here! We had a family reunion and about 25 of us decided we wanted to go out together later in the evening. Although it was last minute they were able to accommodate us. The food was amazing! The service was fabulous and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend this establishment! This would be a perfect place to take your loved one, a friend or an important client. First-class professional service with a smile! Everyone got different dinners and everyone loved their meal and dessert!
Awful!!!!! Scallops with cajun spices should be renamed to Cajun spice with a hint of scallops. Hot..Hot..Hot. Frutta Di Mare was very overcooked especially the so called lobster. It was so overcooked it was like mush. The sauce had much to be desired. Very flat. The veal parmesan was tough and very thick in spots. The mozorella cheese was sour and rubbery and the breading was thick not lightly breaded and it seemed to be deep fried. The ceasar salad was mushy too. Also the parmesan cheese was sliced not grated and the dressing didnt have anchovies in it like a traditional ceasar salad dressing and the romaine lettuce was soggy. We did complain and the server said the chef appreciates our critique. Apparently doesnt learn from it though. We spent $88 plus the tip for garbage. They gave us a cannoli for our dissatisfaction not one each just one. Wow... an $88 cannoli that has to break some sort of record. Never again.
Service was very good, unfortunately the food was not. My friend had the lasagna whi h was very dry, lack of mozzarella and sauce, I had the special calamari spaghetti. The sauce was very watery and the dish had very little flavor. My date had a chicken dish which was suppose to have a cream sauce. There was no sauce, the chicken was bland as was the overall meal. My other friend had the real dish which proved to be good.
Staff is super friendly, they treat you like family. Atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. The food is always amazing, good portions and very tasty. My favorite is the chicken carbonara.
We ordered baked brie, lasagna, chicken Marsala, and chicken piccata. Everything was good, except we thought the piccata sauce was a little watery. Our waitress was excellent. Overall, we were happy, and plan to return.
Nice place, fairly good service. Lasagna was cold, appetizer was cold. Chicken in chicken parmigiana was overcooked and tough. The waitress offered one free dessert. Unfortunately the food at Olive Garden is better.
I love Mary and her staff. They are always warm and welcoming. The food is on point. Amicis Cucina is just overall a great dining experience any time of the year. I love their espresso martini and seafood pasta. Its to die for! If youre ever in Waterville and want amazing Italian food, AC is the place to go!
Great dinner for our anniversaries. The food is fresh and upscale presentation with the right portion sizes. Get 5 courses with, bread, apps, salad, entre, and dessert. All meals will not disappoint. This can be a place to go for a romantic dinner or evening with the family. There is also some bar seating available.
My first visit to this restaurant was by chance as we were on the road looking for somewhere to eat. Initially I was worried that we were underdressed but the atmosphere was friendly and my concerns dissolved.Nice menu that made choosing difficult. My boyfriend went with his usual chicken and broccoli Alfredo and it was very good. I had the Mona Lisa with chicken which had some great flavor but the light lemon butter sauce was almost nonexistent which left the dish tasting unfinished to me.Our server was friendly and attentive and we really liked the atmosphere. There are so many other tempting offerings on the menu that I am sure we will be back to try it again. I may have to amend this review!
Bread with oil, Awesome. Fried Calamari, Awesome. Figs with goats cheese, Not for me.....ugg. Seafood pasta dish Fiance said it was amazing! 5 Cheese Lasagna with sausage. It was the size of a school bus and excellent. Had the raspberry tart, Was good. But not worth $6.00. Lemon cake was really good. The bill for every thing was $108. It was 2 meals worth and very good over all. I would recommend it. If you had the entrees and a beer it would have been a $50 meal. We had a gift cert so we went over board!
Great Italian food and wonderful service everytime Im here. Portions are big and well presented and tasty. Can be busy on Friday and Saturday eve so reservations are helpful.
Overall, a very good dining experience. Friendy and very upbeat atmosphere. Service was topnotch and server clearly loved her job and was very accomodating. The chicken parm was very disappointing however. I ordered angel hair but received very overcooked spaghetti. The sauce was skimpy and very bland. The portion of chicken was generous but abit overcooked- a dark brown as opposed to a nice golden brown. My wifes haddock was tasty but the portion was small for the price. The bread, dipping oil, salads, and desserts were very good. What stands out the most was the friendly atmosphere and service. We would definately try again and know to order extra sauce. The lasagna looked very good and would be worth a try.
We called ahead for a table and still ended up waiting for 20 minutes (two people). When we finally got a table we ordered drinks, an app, and two entrees that came with salads. The drinks took 10 minutes and were very strong, to the point they were almost undrinkable, the appetizer was under seasoned, and the entrees took 45 minutes, the proteins were cold and our salads were forgotten. When I finally reminded the waitress of the salads, my boyfriends arrived with the wrong salad dressing. Our waitress also changed three times. I have worked in the food industry, i understand being slammed, I understand being stressed, i even understand a slow kitchen... but at this price point this level of service and this number of errors are completely unacceptable.
We decided last minute to try this place. Walked in and did not have a reservation. They seated us in a tall chair table near a sun filled window. The copper covered table tops added a nestalgic feel. Service was awesome! The food was amazing! I had a seafood medley with white wine clam sauce (yum). My wife had the Eggplant parm. Pretty sure her eyes rolled back with every bite. Our drinks were delisious as well. We will be going back soon! What a gem of a place. They earned every star!
This place is absolutely amazing! Great atmosphere! The food is fantastic, well worth the money youll spend. Staff is attentive and friendly and doesnt let a dirty plate sit on the table for a second. The ciabatta bread is to die for. I could go on and on. Definitely recommend this restaurant 👍👍👍
