American Inn in Petersburg

Roaches and at one time had bed bugs. I awoke to see a bug crawling on the pillow next to me. I took a photo and recorded a video of the bug crawling around on the bed and went straight to the office just foe them to offer me clean sheets. They didnt care at all. Do not recommend.

Roach infestation does not come close to describing the horrific Place. Owner & his wife were very rude. As was the front desk man, his wife ,etc.... The city really needs to shut it down.! I was literally freaked out! And at first I thought the toilet bowl was stained black . But I sprayed bleach cleaner in it and the awful color instantly dissolved. It took a whole 3 minutes to clean it. That really doesnt say much about the housekeepers there. Most definitely, the most disgusting hotel I ever slept in.

Yes it was because it kept going off because the roaches were eating the wiring inside the detector. Which causes it to randomly beep 3 times loudly then stop. I know from working at royal your other owned property that once the bugs eat the wires in the detector they are defective and continue to beep randomly when the roaches nest inside

Nice and close to my house. Sometimes has too much drama but otherwise okay. Right off of 460. Close to restaurants and churches.

Horrible I stayed here For Less then 2 Minutes And 3 Cockroaches skittered away when we entered My dad (I was with my dad sister and grandpabut my dad Seemed disappointed Second we walked into the room And I didn’t get halfway Into the room Before Going out again me and my sister Both told our dad he can sleep there but that we would sleep in the car Because we had read reviews and the reviews didn’t lie We Saw Cockroaches flys I even think a moth was in there and Outside where 2 Giant Spiders Who Made such giant webs my dad Needed to Move the other way not to touch it Person on management was nice At the least he tried to offer us a room that was slightly less disgusting It had dirt in the beds and WallsOverall Disgusting and I don’t even think my dad got a refund im not sure how people can come here and Stay

Bedbugs, dont stay here. The owners get embarrassed and upset when you call them out on Bedbug and roach problem. Not worth half a star on anything. Roaches breeding and hatching in the carpets. The walls crawl night and day. Only a nuclear explosion would cleans this place and maybe even after that hand sanitizer wouldnt hurt.

Roach infested does not like children has a lot of drug activity I was visiting family in Petersburg checked in seen the room and roaches I have a daughter they didnt even want her outside playing does not open the pool in the summer because they dont want kids there at night I seen people walking around all night like they were on something a guy even approached me and asked for crack like really I left the next morning do not recommend

Excellent lodging clean new remodeled rooms i recommend it to everyone, also excellent prices and efficiencies

Just checked in cockroaches everywhere. Like everywhere. Carpet, toilet, fridge, basically everywhere there is a hole surface or crevice.Fridge is filthy and rusted.Toilet wasnt clean.Loud music going on 24/7 .

Very unsanitary place beyond disgusting and the people who own and manage the place are rude crooked and untrustworthy.

Environmental pollution place dirty and stinking rooms and unsaved. Owner need to protect life and property by employee security agents with powerful surveillance cameras.

Most dirtiest hotel ever environment look like jungle resorts heavy trash and necked bug bed at the upper and lower level

Its in a very convenient location. The room was clean, but it did have a bad roach problem. Other than that, for the price, they are very reasonable.

Checked in at 8:56 pm last night went into my room with my kids and boyfriend and instantly seen roaches. We went to front desk to get a refund and was told we would have to wait until morning for owner to get refund. So they changed our room to another room and the room also had roaches. I could not have my kids sleep in a bed where roaches just walk on so we left not even 20 minutes of being there. Never got a refund. Disappointed

This place is absolutely disgusting 🤮 as soon as I got in my room and sat on the bed it looked like the top of the dressers were moving but it really was all the roaches 🪳 crawling all over the top of the tables. I know I had to of seen a estimated of 60 roaches. I would never recommend this place nor let anyone or myself stay In this hotel. I’d sleep on the streets before I ever even think about stay at this place ever again!

American Inn is very gross. When I check in the room is still dirty sea floors have grit and grime all over it. And Ive seen quite a few bugs. And the staff there are very rude and when you called the front desk to ask them to come and take a look at the little mini fridge to see why its not working and they say they will come and replace it or look at it and they never did so I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I would rather sleep in my car

Thank you American Inn! Although only 6 mins. away from the horrific Flagship Inn, this place was our Sanctuary. I was here for quite a while and it was so peaceful. It is clean and the staff was nice. It is conveniently located across from a wonderful store that also offers friendly service. 4 stars only because the room could have been larger. Stay here if you visit Petersburg!

Lots of roaches. They are remodeling and think they are getting rid of the roaches that way but no. They do work with you on rent. Weekly rates. They never inspect the rooms which should be monthly or clean the rooms until you move out. Ive asked for a vacuum repeatedly every week and its been over a month and still no vacuum. I found a black hand towel in my room one day but nothing was done and some tools are missing.

This place opened its doors with special rates for homeless mothers with children. Cant say enough about the general manager. God bless you Trisha!

At the moment, friend of mine is staying there, and he says that its really not too bad.

Bed bug and roach infested and we were only there a few hours and we cant get our money back.

Trish (lady at front deskis from hell. Shes rude nasty and doesnt know fully how to preform her job. The maintenance man has bed bugs Galore and they dont do anything about it

no Issues i enjoyed my stay the room was nice ..met some nice people there very respectful nice place to stay for a while until you find a place to live I would recommend

The room was decent, but could use some work. The room was not properly cleaned from the previous customers, as I found used condom wrappers at the head of the bed against the wall and under the bed as well, and a used tampon wrapped in tissue laying beside the toilet in the bathroom. There were also roaches inside the room. And the walkway to the room was cluttered with mattresses and box springs as well as a dresser, nightstand, lamp, and a big mirror that was propped up against the rooms exterior window. I consider those a safety hazard.

Gangster. Everyone keeps to themselves. Good place to disappear for a day or two or with your side piece after the club. You get what you pay for. Things could always be worse

First floor rooms have pull out couxh make it mire comfortable for guest stay in the room and a pool is available in summer

Not a great place to stay for a long period of time. They have criminals who live there and sell drugs. Theres a man there who lives and works on several cars that flood the parking lot and a lot of suspicious activity. The shotty mechanic may be a good thing if you need emergency work but who knows what his credentials are. I ride past this place everyday to enter into the 295 expressway. The area seems to be improving further down from the hotel. Theres actually an ice cream parlor. Sad thats the only one in the city.

I ended up having to stay here for 3 weeks with my dog while I was waiting to move into my house. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, they really made me feel at home and made my stay there very enjoyable. Not only are the staff friendly, but so are the guests that live there. I was actually very sad when I had to leave to move into my house. I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN! ☺

Dont stay here if you can help it. Roaches.....call Orkin...plumbing issues nasty rude clerk. The worst place i have ever checked into. Then rudeness from staff on duty...see you never again in life!

Back in the day this place was a lovely romantic place to stay now its just a place to stay out of the cold and the hot heat a roof over your head for a fair price thanking god for the blessings of this place for someone can call there home thanks American Inn

American inn was surprisingly a nice hotel. Spacious rooms, has stove, refrigerator, microwave and clean.

Was in the process of buying home needed a place for couple of weeks while waiting for home to be ready. They are very friendly and doing a lot of repairs at the time of my stay. So things were being remodeled and undated, the room I was staying in was quite clean, offered not just a mini fridge and microwave but we also had a 4 burner stove with working oven, double kitchen sink and eating area along with King size bed as well as a pull out couch for comfortable television entertainment The cost was also a big plus I totally recommend staying with American Inn. Even with the repairs going on this did not effect my sleep in any way as it was during the day we would sleep and work on our home during the night. You guys made our situation a lot less stressful. Thank you!

They are starting to get their act together and remodeling the rooms and they have removed alot of the riff raff out

only stores nearby are gas stations, and a hardees. they are in the process of updating all of the rooms, which was very much needed. hopefully it will be very much improved when finished.

I didnt have to bother the sraff and i was impressed with the new set up in the room....they didnt have a lounge area or stove the last time i visited

It was an okay place until I woke up next to a bed bug. When I went to the manager about the problem, he was very rude and refused to give me a different room.

The manager was nice and respectful. Yet they CANNOT help the filth that comes around the complex. MILITARY STUDENTS STAY AWAY!! Homeless village is located in the woods behind hotel and across the street behind the Budget rent a car. Prostitutes and pimps live in the same hotel and will knock on your door for sex. Cars come late at night to other rooms around yours playing loud music selling drugs. Other side of hotel is being torn down where squatters stay. Cheap hotel but not worth your time, life, or sleep. I dont know how it got more than 3 stars. Need to spend the money on cleaning the place up.

My stay at the American Inn my was excellent I had clean linens clean room the people at the hotel are excellent the pool was was clean to swim inand to have fun I will always come back to the American Inn I would rate it 5
