American Bison, Bronx Zoo in Long Island City

The bison exhibit is tough for visitors. When I visited the bison were far away in the grass so that I couldnt easily see them. It was a bit of a chilly and damp day, so they were keeping to themselves. It wasnt interesting.

You can get so close to the bison! We even saw babies

This isnt just a zoo. Its really a huge park that happens to have a zoo in it. This is a whole day excursion, so plan to be there from open to close. You still probably wont see it all due to its size.Its hard to pick out highlights, because theres so many great attractions (and super cute animalsto see. Dont miss the sea lions. Right now they have a few pups who are still nursing and learning to swim. The monorail is a fun experience, and I like that they have it set up so every seat is a good seat. At the end of the monorail ride youll probably get to see their adorable red panda named Linus taking a nap in a tree.Wear good walking shoes and make sure youre hydrated, but even if you get a little tired theres always the shuttle to transport you to any corner of the zoo. Also I would suggest getting the total experience tickets, since otherwise you will end up paying a lot extra on many of the attractions (things the monorail, gorilla exhibit , childrens zoo and others will cost additional fees). This is a great zoo and totally worth a visit if you love animals.

The majestically thunderous herds of the American Buffalos (Tatankamay no longer exist in world.And obviously future generations will, most probably, only see a very small glimpse of the wilderness that once was.To receive a fuller experience of the appreciation of the natural life of only about 150 years ago.I would highly recommend seeing Kevin Costners masterpiece "Dances with Wolves".

Beautiful Bison. Multiple viewing spots. A family favorite when you are entering and leaving through the Bronx Zoo through the Bronx River Gate. Not far from Astor Court so if you are visiting the sea lions dont miss the opportunity to take a short walk to see the Bison and learn a little about these amazing animals that are colloquially called buffalo in American history.

This zoo is the worst thing ever, when we went there, almost half of the animals were absent, including the bison. Why they dont advice us about that in the entrance
