What a chic atmosphere here and a magnificent unique interior that will take you instantly to the 20s. Cocktails and staff are also lovely , thank you for this experience

This classic cocktail bar fits perfectly in this breath-taking building. The bartenders know their stuff, real professionals. Perfectly done classic cocktails. Went for two nights in a row. Music the 1st night was fun, nostalgic 80s that put a smile on our faces, on the 2nd night it all went to remixes which were too loud and bouncy for a classic cocktail bar, for my taste. Another downside which unfortunately is common for many places in the Czech Rep. - The opening hours that are published online are not respected or updated.

Andre is very nice bartender. Good classic cocktail menu. Mai Tai was good but a little too sweet. Next time Ill ask for less sweet.Music is too loud, gives the feel of a dive bar rather than a historic bar.Room is too dark. Its hard to see and appreciate the historic interior.

Good cocktails, kind staff and amazing interior. Only tiny minus was a bit pricey water, but otherwise the prices for cocktails are fair.

Worst service of an otherwise excellent trip, group of 6 kept waiting for 30 minutes to order drinks while not even busy.

Super bar s rodinnou tradicí. Historie v tomto prostoru na vás dýchá z každého rohu. Profesionální obsluha a servis....

Eine absolut coole Bar in einem Gewölbe Keller. Sehr professionell Barkeeper und auch top cocktails. Die Beratung ist auch sehr professionell. Habe auch einen Cocktail erhalten, nach meiner Beschreibung. War sehr positiv überrascht. Hatten an dem Abend auch einen Klavier Spieler, der sehr gut gespielt hat.

I have been in this American Bar couple of times and I really like the environment with the knowledge of the bartenders especially Kamila, great sense of humor, great service and it makes me feel like back home great customer service, I will recommend to any one to come and enjoy it just look for the great bartender Kamila.

Nice interior.

We went in to have a look around and were stunned at the interior. Walk down the stairs, slowly and look. Come back up on the other side to see something different. Everything is in beautiful condition. The Bar and restaurant area will make you go wow.Enjoy a drink, relax and look - staff helpful

Péssimo atendimento! Ontem à tarde fomos comprar bilhetes para o concerto de música clássica e resolvemos tomar uma bebida no American Bar, considerado o mais antigo da República Checa. A bartender não era propriamente simpática mas tudo estava bem até ao momento de pagarmos. Levantamo nos e fomos até ao balcão. Ela estava a preparar 3 cocktails para pessoas que tinham chegado entretanto. Enganou se a preparar um deles e ficou fora de si. Virou se para nós que estávamos calados a vê lá preparar os cocktails e perguntou se estávamos com pressa. Respondi que não. E ela vem com um comentário " esperei 10 minutos para que escolhessem o pedido e agora estão com pressa...". Disse lhe que estava a ser mal educada e respondeu me que nós ao estar a vê a preparar as bebidas a estávamos a deixar stressada e que devíamos ter ficado sentados na mesa em vez de vir pagar ao balcão. Enfim muito mal educada. Recusou ou dar o livro de reclamações e disse para reclamarmos na Internet... Não serve como bartender e muito menos para um bar como este.

Great bar

This place is so historical. As part of the municipality building which is so beautiful. We went here for a Cosmopolitan Cocktail. The waiter was so friendly and helpful. This was more an experience than a drink. Definitely a must visit when you are in Prague. René and Menekşe.

It was a tad over priced and the drinks were ok..not great..there are other establishments with in a 5 min walk that would be a better at this price point

Only one beer available, from bottles. Great beers are available from the region, the available one was not up to scratch. Unless you want an expensive mix or cocktail, best to avoid. There are some great bats in the district.

During my 3 days of vacation in Prague, this location had given me the most unpleasant distasteful experience. With me and 2 of my friends had been planning to visit to have drinks in this beautiful location designed in art deco style since the very first day. Alas the beauty was only on the outside... after minutes of wait at the door (the place was half emptywe have been placed to our seats to wait for a menu. But it never came, and we even have been scolded by a waitress impudently with the accusation of entering the restaurant by ourself and she showed us the exit.We have waited 15 minutes more for the waiter who allowed us in to come (Just for the sake of ambienceto bring the menus. We have ordered 3 beers and guess what? Regardless of the pamphlets on the tables for the prices of the beers, apparently they are serving them only with meals that time.Immensely disappointed, we have left the location with an equally great urge to tell the people who wants to spend time there to be cautious.Long story short;Very beautiful location and ambience, definitely a must see with an equally bad, unfriendly and impertinent staff. I’d advice anyone to go for local pubs and bars instead of this location.

Un bar incantevole con una vastissima scelta tra cognac, liquori e altro. Un po caro ma sedetevi a bere qualcosa e spendetele ste corone se le cambiate che in italia non ve ne fate niente... 🤣 bello, barista cordiale e simpatica. Se si potesse fumare un sigaro sarebbe il top. Ma è vietato.... peccato

Perhaps not widely known to the vast majority of tourists, this bar brings back the customer to the previous century. Extremely well decorated, do not miss the lamp and the art on the walls. Several types of cocktails and drinks are served. Prices are on the high side.

Beautiful surroundings ~ gorgeous architecture, lighting and decorations. Go here just for a quick peek. Whatever you do, don’t stop for a drink. Overpriced, warm, badly made, terrible spirits and poor attitude from the staff. Asked for a Manhattan and a Vodka Martini (two drinks you’d think an ‘American Bar’ would have down patBarman wasn’t sure of the recipes- googled it on his phone. Had to argue with the bar man for ten minutes not to have the ethanol grade bourbon in the drink but instead substitute for a premium Bourbon. Had to pay full price for the Manhattan, plus full price for the shot of Knob Creek ( best bourbon they hadjust to customize a drink. So that is the full price for two separate drinks just to receive a rubbish version of a Manhattan. Very poor. Had to request ice in the drink because the cocktail was not properly chilled down. Seriously, come here, take a photo and LEAVE.

Great drinks and a cool atmosphere. The drinks were pricey for Praha, but it was typical of our home town in Montana USA (if that gives you some perspective). Cool place for drinks in a great city.

The bar itself is lovely.The barman is a different story.We sat for 20minutez to be served-before that he told me that he was busy cleaning to take an order for a bottle of Prosecco.After we got the bottle we were told repeatedly that the bar closed at 11 so we needed to be finished by then.Leading up to 11 we were watched constantly by the barman.It is a lovely bar but a message to owners.....change your bar staff.
